We stayed for just one night but I thought the hotel was excellent. Clean rooms and friendly staff and great location. I found on street parking nearby for 1 franc per hour although the Hotel did offer me overnight at the nearby casino for chf19. The price was reasonable. The room small but that’s no big deal for a one night stay. I enjoyed the funky bathroom decor and morning coffee on the Piazza Grande was divine. Grazie

We had a beautiful family vacation and were very pleased with this hotel. The location is fantastic, it is extremely clean and the staff is very friendly and always helpful. We left our car in a near by garage and the hotel provided us with a pass and a discount. The day we checked out we were aloud to leave our luggage In a room by the reception until we were able to leave. We stayed in a comfort room and had a connected room for our daughter. It was a nice surprise when we opened her closet and found a hidden sink, mirror and extra towels just for her room. Our room had a nice balcony overlooking the lake with a table and two chairs. Breakfast was good. Thank you for everything, Will stay here again :-)

Wanted to reserve a room right before the film festival and since there were only two hotels available (the Belvedere for over 500Eur/night or Montaldi for 100Eur/night) I decided to reserve the latter one. It was a bad decision. Ended up moving to an other hotel in Muralto (no refund given). This place is incredibly shabby. The bathroom is one big piece of moulded plastic, from the sixties. Towels overused and wrinkled. Therefore even if they are clean, both the bathroom and the towels give the impression of being dirty. Soap comes in a dispenser. No air-con just a small ventillator in the room. At the desk there is a place where once was a minibar, showing the obvious signs of some unfortunate defrosting. Stains on the wall and in the small wardrobe.(no hangers) The ceiliing panels would often rattle (hitting them with something would temporarily dampen the noise) The elevator is still the one-door model, when you only have a door on the corridor, but not inside, something that I am reluctant to use. Sadly, the building conveys noise so well that I could hear people watching tv two floors above me, the noise of the kitchen two floors below me, and it was also disturbing that one could not open the window as people on the balconies would be smoking 24/7. Of the two beds one was comfortable the other overused. The walls and the ventillation system were dirty. At the reception they spoke Italian and some German, only. There is a disco next door. On the positive side: guests were very decent, not noisy or rude, I think most of them were equally startled by the state of this place. The top floor is a workers' inn, but they were decent, as well. Breakfast looked good and fresh and enough. (did not take it, saw it from the window.) It has a great location. Those on the upper floors surely had great views. (I saw the railway station with the big, noisy construction that is going on.) It could easily be the best hotel in Locarno because of its location, but it would need a complete overhaul, or be totally rebuilt because decades of maintenance is lacking there.

Sharing the same name of the hotel, there is a very bad quality hostage in a non-identified building, outside the Hotel dell'Angello. We paid for two nights in a three stars hotel, but were derived to this hostage, without elevator, conditioned air, bed sheets and with a shared bathroom. Emergency advises in case of fire were generical, copied from another hotel and hidden behind a store. Bedroom conditions were awful so that we achieved the hot and noisy first night and after, left the hotel and Locarno forever, although a second night was paid. Therefore, if you take the decision of booking with this hotel (it would not be my advice), please, double check directly with the hotel that you do have a real bedroom and not a jail cell.

Having stayed here several times, I must confess it’s neat and tidy and find the staff extremely friendly. Rooms are fairly small but have all the necessary amenities. By paying a little extra you can have a larger room. The rates are very reasonable for this time of the year. The continental breakfast is wholesome and good. I have to make a special mention of the restaurant at the hotel. Serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. You can have a excellent and tasty meal for under CHF 20.00. Shopping area is just a hop step and a jump from the hotel. It’s a good three star hotel for low budget guests. The train station is a ten minute walk , with good connections to Luzern and Zurich every half hour. Public transport is free for visitors staying at hotels. Highly recommend in case you happen to visit this beautiful city. Thanks and warm regards, Randolph Perera 05.12.2019

What a lovely surprise! This brand new hotel, despite not having a view, is a only block away from the lake and a few minutes walk to the station, town centre or old town. It has bright and cheerful decoration, charming, friendly and endlessly patient staff and a very nice breakfast buffet and well-stocked bar where my large and boisterous family over-ate and made much far too much noise! Since we were spending a week for a big family celebration, we had decided to upgrade to a suite and were thrilled with our huge and comfortable space, loads of storage and even a kitchenette. My nephew had the suite next door which also came with a huge terrace. Despite initial envy, we soon recovered from the envy, as the terrace immediately became "family party central"! For anyone who will be out and about all day, and ready to crash into a comfortable bed at night without spending a small fortune, this hotel is an excellent choice.

I went to this hotel as a small 1 week holiday with my boyfriend for his birthday. It is sad to say that the price of the hotel is not at all worth it. I will start by saying that the room itself is very cozy and there is a nice view from where we are. When we arrived the room was nicely decorated as I have asked, thats something good to say. However the service at the reception was not great. We came and they gave us our card and everything but did not give specific information such as how the restaurant of the hotel is currently closed, or where the bar of the hotel was or the spa and how to access it, we were pretty much lost. When we did find the spa ourselves, no one was at the front desk to welcome us or anything like that so we helped ourselves to the Jacuzzi with no explanation whatsoever. The photo of the fitness room is completely false as it is an extremely small place with no access to water bottles. Something that was extremely disappointing with our stay especially during COVID season is that during our 1 week stay, they NEVER changed our sheets. They just folded it and never once changed it. I find this very disgusting for a 4 star hotel. We were also very disappointed with our pack lunch that we had for every lunch as we were visiting a lot of Locarno. They gave us the same sandwich every single day. The same ingredients and the same thing inside the sandwich. I had to ask the reception to change it because its rather ridiculous. Another major thing that was shocking to us was the fact that when me and my boyfriend called the reception as we needed forks and spoons, they asked us to come down to the reception to get it!!!! Wha is this service!!! Overall this stay was really disappointing as I paid a lot for something that I could have had better at a 2 star hotel.

We stayed to nights while visiting canton Ticino. The location is really good, in the center of the city. We arrived earlier than check-in time but luckily our room was available so we could check in earlier. Also, breakfast buffet is included and has many different options. Another pro is that, by being hostel, the city provides you with free transportation ticket for most transportations and discounts in the super touristy ones. The place was clean and comfortable. Our roomview gave to a parking lot, meh. We didn't like, however, that they have no public kitchen for guests, they provide their own dinning services with Swiss pricing. And also, they charged us a "daily membership for the Hostel chain" of 8 Fr. per day per person. Sincerely, I preferred much more the Hostel chain "Swiss hostels" than this one (especially Lausanne GuestHouse & Backpacker), but unfortunately they didn't have a hostel in the city, but in the mountain nearby.

Absolutely beautiful small hotel, with restaurant. Rooms are on the small side, but have AC and that was a huge benefit during the heatwave while we were there. The public areas are clean and pretty and the hotel sits almost directly on the narrow path that runs to Locarno, so an easy walk into that town and easy access to the lake for swimming. There is a second floor terrace with awnings and super comfortable couches and chairs, rarely occupied and heavenly. The restaurant is pricey but good and the breakfast included in your room rate is far above average with many things cooked to order as well as an extensive buffet. There are bicycles for free, huge fancy shower, flat screen tv and music. Beds were super comfortable and amenities were first class. Highly recommended! We loved it!
