We stayed as a couple for 4 nights in August 2018. There were some bridge works being undertaken by the house on the river and Muriel the owner ensured that this did not affect us, keeping us informed in advance and kindly offering a free cancellation if we were concerned. It was no problem for us and simply made the stay a bit more of an adventure! The welcome here is very personal and if arriving by car you will be shown to an underground and very safe car park a short walk away, Free drinks are available throughout your stay in a small library, including a good selection of teas, coffee and beer. We stayed in the "Alphonse Balat suite". We chose this as it has a small conservatory and my wife would be staying here during the day some times so it was ideal for her to sit and read in nice surroundings. The bathroom was enormous and facilities provided were lovely (Toiletries towels etc). Breakfast was plentiful and consisted of local pastries, fresh fruit, meats cheeses and eggs from the hens in the garden - freshly laid! We hope to visit again some time, this really is a genuinely 5 star rating well deserved.

The hotel is in an old building, it is very picturesque and they have obviously made a big effort with the decor, lots of marble staircases etc. However, the downside is that there are lots of staircases, it seems almost impossible to get to a bedroom without going up or down a staircase. Since we only stayed in one room - 309 - I will focus the review on that. To start when we opened the door to the room, there was a flight of stairs up to the actual bedroom. Nice room, bed was a bit soft but very comfortable and there is view out over the roof of the church. Downside, there were no spare sockets in the room. I had to unplug a bedside lamp to charge my phone. The room has absolutely no storage space. Yes, there is a cupboard at the bottom of the stairs at the entry, but there is no natural light, no artificial light and it is really dark in there. There were some hangers attached to a rail and there was space to leave a suitcase but no shelves. Massive bathroom with a huge bath/jacuzzi, which was lovely but took ages to fill and there was no shower, only a shower attachment, which was not ideal. In addition, there was blind over the window facing the church, which it was impossible to open - pity as it would have made the room lovely and bright. Now for, to my mind the worst issue with the room. The toilet is next to the door to the room, which means anyone wanting to use it at night had to go downstairs. Worse, there is no hand basin, meaning anyone using the bathroom had then to return upstairs to wash their hands. There wasn't even a bin in the toilet.

Stayed one night at Grand Hotel de Flandre. The room is a little bit small, but it's enough if you don't fancy having a lot of space. Everything was super clean, including the restrooms. If you like a shower with good water pressure, you should be pleased. The hallway feels a little bit old, but very clean nevertheless. The location is right in front of the train station. The area is very convenient, though not that nice. On the other hand, you're at a 5-minute walking distance to the nice Namur city centre. The breakfast is €12 per person and I think it's more than worth it. It's an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet with eggs, sausages, bread, toast, jam, ham, cheese, juice, yogurt, coffee, tea, croissants and pastries. Even in a post COVID-19 world, it felt very safe with the employee constantly cleaning everything in the buffet. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. We could store our luggage for the day and everything was always done with a smile. Would definitely stay there again.

The Ibis is conveniently located to the center and a bit longer walk from the train station. We were unlucky enough that no internet went, which we only on demand. Otherwise everything was ok and usual Ibis standard.

Good experience with some let downs: Very well designed rooms and common areas; rooms are small but do not feel constricted (except for the wardrobe which is a design failure); bed was very comfortable and rooms are quiet; good equipment; spa is nice but I did not appreciate that you have to pay extra for it - at the very least it should be included when you book a massage; location was good, with a 10 minute walk from the city centre; staff was ok but not overly friendly; biggest let-down was the breakfast, which was far too basic and low quality for the EUR 20 asking price - this I would avoid at all costs; all in all good experience, in line with the very reasonable price (around EUR 100) we paid.

Clean, comfortable, and very friendly reception staff. Each bed has its own plug and mini light, and each room has its own shower cubicle. The setting is also quaint and lovely as it is situated by the river, so you always have a great view while looking out the window. They have a good selection of beers, nice music in the afternoon and night and a great breakfast in the morning. There is really nothing to complain about except maybe for its proximity to the city center, as it takes quite a walk to get there...but hey...we all could use some exercise. If you end up in Namur, stay at this place and visit Piano bar too.

Clean beds, older hotel, fair price. The soap in the bad was empty. No airco so it’s hot in summerdays. A minibar available in the room. Small TV. Stairs and Floor from wood, so you hear others walking. Near the road but not much noice when window is closed.

Just returned form a 3 night stay at the above. Set in a leafy suburb of the town the Chateau is a lovely place to get away from it all and relax. Taxi into the town is about €12. Situated right next to the Citadel (worth a visit) the grounds and the Chateau itself are delightful. The rooms are modern and the mini bar well stocked. However a couple of items were out of date. Ambient lighting and a wall mounted chiller cabinet containing a bottle of champagne “in case of emotional emergencies” are just two of the lovely touches in the room. The hotel itself is decorated tastefully and the champagne corks style keys are very novel. Food in the restaurant is very good quality although be aware if the rather strange policy for groups of 7 or larger if eating there for lunch or dinner. If there are more than 7 on a table then you have to eat the same meal ! If it wasn’t for the out of date mini bar items and the strange policy in the restaurant I would have no hesitation in giving 5 out 5 stars but to get that it has to be perfect. So very nearly was. Would definitely book to stay here again if ever I was in the area. Staff were very helpful and polite.
