Ile Saint-Louis
Paris
|0.3km from city center
For my first trip abroad after 2.5 years, I chose Paris, one of my favourite cities, and the Isle St. Louis, one of my favourite Parisian spots. I've stayed on the island once before at the Hotel St. Louis en l'Isle, which is currently under renovation. Of the 4 hotels I'm aware of on the island, Jeu de Paume is probably the fanciest, so I decided to book here, and was very happy I did. Isle St. Louis is the smaller of the 2 islands in the middle of the Seine, the other being the Ile de la Cite, where Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle are situated. It is primarily residential, but does have a main thoroughfare and a few side streets that are dotted with cute shops, inns and small restaurants. Plus the famous ice cream place Berthillon is located here. The hotel is so named because it is built on the grounds of a 17th century jeu de paume court (a racket-sport precursor to tennis). Wooden beams and exposed stone over 300 years old are still part of the hotel's public rooms. The hotel is actually set back from the street behind another building and a small courtyard, adding to its quietness. Many of the rooms look over another side courtyard where breakfast or refreshments can be taken in warmer months. The lobby consists of several lovely and comfortable seating areas, plus there is a bar/coffee area and, in the rear, the breakfast area. There is another sitting area on the first floor. The overall design and art is contemporary, surrounded by old world construction. All of the front desk staff were very friendly and spoke English well. The housekeeping and dining area staff were also friendly. My room, a single, was on the smaller side but well designed, again with contemporary furnishings. There was a stocked minifridge (I made room to put some of my own things in it) and a small set-up for in-room coffee/tea. The bathroom was decently stocked (slippers, robe, towel-warming rack), although I did not care for the disposable facecloths. The toilet was in a separate room from the sink and shower. Breakfast is included in some rates, otherwise I think it's 18 euro. I tried it once, and it was adequate. It's a buffet set-up. There was fruit salad, prepackaged cheeses, yogurt, orange juice (not fresh), coffee, tea, cereal, a variety of breads and croissant, scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, bacon. I would suggest eating early because not everything is replenished. The island itself is so charming. It has a small grocery store, a few bakeries and boulangeries, a cheese shop, some produce markets and butcher shops. There are several boutiques and galleries, and quite a few restaurants. I made a point of eating dinner on the island every night except once. There's even a Michelin-starred restaurant directly across the street from the hotel, Le Sergeant Recruiter, which was fabulous. I would also recommend Les Fous de l'Ile, around the corner from the hotel. Berthillon ice cream and sorbets are delicious but on the price

Hotel location is very good, 15 minutes to go to Notre Dame de Paris, the hotel in the Latin Quarter, is the safest neighborhood in Paris, there are not many black people, people on the road are not mixed, there are many places to eat, there are many convenience stores, There is also a special ground gas on the market next Sunday. It is a very good hotel. The room size is slightly smaller. I have to hand over the keys to the front desk before going out every day.

My boyfriend and I wanted to visit Paris as a romantic couples trip and ofcourse wanted a decent hotel. After a little searching on the web we found Hotel Quartier Latin. We had a lot of delays on our way over here so we were worried the reception would be closed, however, there was a note on the door that said we could call the owners and they’d let us in. The next day we were served a lovely breakfast in our rooms and we felt very welcome. The days after we simply had a lovely time. The staff were very kind and humorous, the room was nice, clean and spacious with a rather big balcony overlooking the Paris streets. Overall we had a very pleasant experience, this hotel is definitely worth your money. Thank you chef!

Front desk staff was not just welcoming but also extremely helpful in getting us oriented to our visit in the Latin Quarter. The location was fantastic...an easy walk to left bank sites including the Parthenon, Luxembourg Gardens, funky streets with lots of book stores, Notre Dame (already begining it's rise from the ashes), and strolls by the river. Also, good connection to the metro system. The rooms are very basic but clean with a comfortable bed. If it's space you need, go to the Hilton but if just a place to lay your head after a day of exploring this gorgeous city, the rooms are more than adequate. The only disappointment was the 7euro continental breakfast which consisted of bread, butter, and jam with coffee or tea. The most egregious detail was in the only protein offered: a chunk of Laughing Cow ”cheese” in this country of fabulous cheeses.

Great hotel, WE stayed here for three nights, and we had a room on the last floor (6th) with a nice view on the rooftops. Room was small but very cosy. No noises, we could sleep very well. Considering I am 1.9m tall, the bed was of an appropriate size and comfortable. The bathroom was new and clean. There was a niche to put our clothes - rather small indeed but ok for a WE. The hotel is decorated with a very good taste. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was also good, with service at the table (no buffet). All the personnel was really friendly and helpful. Great experience also because the location is perfect and central.

The payment processes at this hotel are terrible. I booked online directly with the hotel, which asks for card details as a guarantee - no problem with this, as it’s standard practice. When I checked in, payment was requested, which again is quite normal. However, when I checked my bank a few days later, I found the confirmed payment had gone through fine, but there was an identical amount that was ‘pending’ or ‘on hold’! This meant that the money (several hundred euros) was unavailable to me until the pending transaction dropped off. I don’t know why there was a pending transaction as full payment had already been taken at check in, so this in itself was annoying. However, pending transactions usually drop off after a few days at most, so I waited. A week later it was still there and the money was still unavailable to me. At this point I emailed the hotel to be simply told ‘we haven’t charged you twice, there is no problem’. I emailed back explaining that there was clearly a problem that had nothing to do with my bank, and I didn’t receive a response. I then emailed again asking why there had been no response, only to be told basically the same thing. A few more emails back and forth and a phone call later, I was told ‘Yes this is NORMAL, it will drop off eventually at some point’. In actual fact it took an entire MONTH for this money to be released back to me. This is absolutely outrageous and the blasé attitude of the hotel is difficult to comprehend - they didn’t seem to think it was a problem that, due to their own payment processes, customers could be left for a whole month without access to funds. It was fortunate that I had enough money in my account to deal with this deficit for the month, but if I hadn’t, then the hotel made it clear they would do nothing other than just ‘wait’. Absolutely nowhere is this temporary ‘double charge’ mentioned. From looking at previous reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who’s had this experience. I honestly cannot recommend the hotel for this situation alone, even though the hotel itself has a lot going for it - clean, comfortable, great location.

Beautifully designed hotel, they made good use of the space and in the rooms the finishings are super high end. Pillow was great one night and then the next I swear they changed my pillow. Room service is VERY SLOW - they will tell you they are coming but they do not. Staff are generally ok - one very typically rude person at reception, rolled her eyes a few times and was quite unhelpful Had a room without breakfast (Pauls and Laduree are up the road so there is no need to have it in the hotel) You can find street parking easily if needed. We had a kitchenette in our room - which was super useful It's a brilliant location for Champs Elysee shopping and for the George V metro line which takes you into the more central parts. There is no lobby / lounge as such so its worth getting a room where you can relax a bit. We had a deluxe room on the 1st floor

I stayed here with my sister during our holiday in Paris and I can say I was very happy with the choice made! Two-step structure from Moulin Rouge and its metro, 10 minutes walk from MontMartre , a spacious area, open mainly at night, a starbucks in front of the metro stop, then brewery, poke, hamburger, locals for all tastes + a large supermarket (also exactly at the out of the metro). Reception h24 - a little date structure, small stairs and a little uncomfortable but essential room, small, a small closet and a mirror, but for the location and price, for two girls is super recommended! I never had the feeling of being in a bad area, at the evening of a full-fledged, but quiet, and not new, but also here, for the price it is fully presentable and useable. The only sin (which was not a problem for us) is that at night it is not a quiet area, just not having light sleep problems and nothing to revert. The phone and telecommand of the TV are to be requested at the reception. As far as we are concerned, super recommended!

We recently stayed in this hotel as we were having renovations in our apartment. The first thing we noticed was the natural and warm professionalism of the lady on the front desk. Some people are just perfect for working with the public, and it was the case here. Always a natural smile, and ready to help or answer any queries without any hesitation. There is no lift in the hotel, and the stairs are very narrow, which made it a bit complicated with a large suitcase. The lady on the desk offered to help, but we managed. The room was newly renovated, and it was quite small, but this is par for the course in Paris. It had a window to a charming courtyard which was so incredibly quiet, we were able to sleep with the window open without any problems. The sliding door on the bathroom was quite a surprise but we soon got used to it. It was the first time we had stayed in a hotel where there was already a good, strong fan in the room upon our arrival, which was necessary as it was quite warm. The lady who was working in the breakfast room sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed, especially on our last day, when it was very busy and she was working alone. The gentleman on the front desk as we were leaving was very friendly and professional too. All in all I would like to thank to thank the staff for their warm welcome and help. Keep up the good work ;)

Old style hotel which i liked, room was clean and comfortable bed and good shower but that is where the good ended. Location is not the best, not many restaurants around, quite a walk to the Louvre. Be aware there is a tiny lift but there are more stairs on each floor to negotiate with suitcases. I am loyal to Accor and feel as a gold member I received zero benefits. Room was not ready at 3pm (2pm check in) and had to wait with no chairs to sit on, no welcome drink offered, probably the worst room in the hotel, booking said city view instead we had a lovely view of an internal wall and windows on the 3rd floor, incredibly difficult to get a 1 hour late check out, constantly fobbed off to next shift, when finally granted the cleaners kept coming in so we gave up and left. Staff were unwelcoming and generally unhelpful. Felt as if I might have just walked in off the street instead of spending a lot of money this year in Accor hotels, in fact most of the Ibis hotels we used had better rooms and staff. Definitely better hotels in Paris

It is estimated that the overall area could exceed 26 square meters. Of course, the room facilities are also very good, and simple meals can be prepared. There is a Carrefour supermarket in the commercial center downstairs with sufficient goods. There is a farmer's market nearby on weekends, Tuesdays and Thursdays, making life convenient. Stayed here before returning home, and stayed here in France for the first time. I booked it from different platforms. There is an elevator. You can help keep your luggage when you arrive early or check out. The front desk can speak good English. Toothbrush and toothpaste should be prepared by yourself. The space is not big, one person and two luggage can not be opened at the same time, but comfortable. This time I stayed on the six floors and the lighting was very good. I forgot to live on the second or third floor before, and the daylighting will be blocked. It's okay to stay for one night. The location is very close to Lyon Railway Station, very convenient, there are Chinese restaurants (going right and turning left) and sushi restaurants nearby (continue to go along the direction of the Chinese restaurant, diagonally opposite the road), it is quite delicious, not particularly expensive, a meal is ten euros up and down, in that location this price should be OK. The difference is that there is a supermarket name on the street probably monop's(monoprix) orange red black match store, you can buy frozen food for fast food, Paris prices are OK.

This Hotel is in a lovely area of Paris. With good shops and restaurants just across the square in Bercy Village. The metro stop of Saint Cour Emillion, on line 14 is less than 2 minutes walk away, and all around is well lit and pleasant either night or day. We got an official taxi from Charles de Gaulle airport direct to the hotel, for the set rate of 55 euros. So arrived at the hotel at lunch time after our morning flight. Staff were helpful and had already arranged our family 2 rooms together which was great. I’d gone for a room with balcony and could see the Eiffel Tower out there, which was lovely especially at night when it was all lit. We paid in advance for the additional breakfast when booking the rooms. Which was fresh, good quality and an arrangement of hot cooked food, eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereals, fruit, toast, croissants, breads, fruit or continental breakfast. Plenty of drink choices of assorted teas, coffees and juices. There was something for everyone. The Hotel booked our return taxi at the end of our stay, and was helpful printing out boarding passes and attraction tickets when we asked for no extra charge. There was good WiFi reception throughout the hotel. It was my 2nd time stopping at this hotel the first time being 10 years ago and it was just as nice as before. We would all recommend it.

I am close to 2 meters tall and fit nicely, which is unfortunately something I don’t see in many other hotels. I appreciated the small details of the room. I had a really good stay here. The other travellers were really friendly. I felt very safe. We hardly bumped into each other in our rooms due to everybody waking and sleeping at different times, but they were respectful in the morning and nights. The rooms were big and the beds were huge! The shared bathrooms were really clean and modern and the showers were really hot (or cold). It was mostly all students staying here or young people, however I did come across a few older people staying, one in my room. Lots of languages are spoken here. Lots of french mainly. I am English. There was also a Spanish speaking guy in my room, and a guy from Thailand. I stayed for three nights. The first time in a 6 bed female dorm and the last two in an 8 bed mixed room. Everybody is super friendly. The staff are friendly, there's lots of them. And there is big spaces with tables to study or eat and chat with each other.

Good location in Montparnasse, the neighborhood is quite calm and quiet which I liked, yet still very Parisian. The closest metro stations (Alésia and Pernety) are 400-650 metres away. Within walking distance there are for example the Catacombs (1.1 km) and Tour Montparnasse (1.3 km). The room had a very comfortable bed, good air-conditioning and a safe. There could be more shelf space and the shower is tiny, so probably not suitable for a larger person. The breakfast was good, baguette, croissants, yogurt, fruits, pastries and such, in addition to sausage and bacon. I could return here.

The location is near the North Station. The traffic is very convenient. There are more black people at night. It is said to be chaotic and the law and order is not good. It is not recommended to run outside. Of course, going to the urban area is another matter. . .
