This hotel more than met our expectations. The price provided an excellent value. The location was also excellent, since we could walk to the train station (although not with luggage), many restaurants and attractions, and all the champagne tastings in the area. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of variety and excellent quality. The staff was helpful and courteous. We had to use our fractured French on occasion, but after all it is France. The rooms were not spacious, but considering this is a value priced European hotel we were not surprised, and it was okay since we weren't there to spend a lot of time in the room. The room was clean and comfortable, with good a/c and no noticeable problems. The location also was good because during the time we visited a city festival was going on, and the hotel is far enough from the park that the noise didn't carry that far, so it was quiet and peaceful. A great way to spend time in a wonderful town and explore champagne at a value-based price.

DO NOT STAY at this hotel unless you are given a recently renovated room & the lobby area has been renovated. What a disappointment ............. Until i arrived at Hotel de Champagne I have NEVER before had to check someone out of a hotel room within 5 minutes of check in and find them another hotel. Traveling to Epernay for a special birthday i booked 4 rooms at this 'hotel' and requested rooms near each other. On checking in for 3 of the rooms i was immediately concerned as the lobby had a smell and was very dark and unwelcoming. We were given 2 rooms on the 1st floor and room 442. Room 442 was HORRIBLE, it smelled like sewer, the wall (paint/paper) was peeling, the bed looked disgusting, did i mention the smell!!! There aren't words to describe just how horrible this room was. on viewing (and smelling) the room i immediately had my friend accompany me to reception (with her luggage) and asked the receptionist to transfer her to another room only to be told there were none available. I know this was untrue as my 4th room hadn't yet checked in and there were people checking out. I asked how they could advertise room 442 as a decent room due to the smell, her response - eh! - i said i wanted another room, again told nothing available. How do i know this is recurring complaint and they know they shouldn't be selling this room - when i said we were canceling that reservation and there should be no charge they were absolutely fine with it and didn't even try to argue !!! Obviously this happens a lot. We found a room relatively nearby at the Ibis which was clean and didn't smell. The renovated rooms were fine however unless you're guaranteed to get one of those AND they've renovated the incredibly unwelcoming lobby & "dining area" I cannot recommend this to anyone as you're at risk of getting a room that smells like a sewer.

Booked and paid in advance for two triple rooms, but on arrival given two doubles (we are a family of six and have four young children). I was told there were no triple rooms and was offered another double room (at my expense) which I declined. After two calls to her manager, the receptionist then miraculously found two triple rooms. However - once we’d settled down for sleep - someone tried to access one of the rooms with a key. Several further attempts and eventually the door was opened by the receptionist who seemed surprised to find the room occupied. I showed her my room key and she shrugged her shoulders at me and the other bewildered guests standing outside the room and walked off. I don’t know if they were ever given a room... The hotel itself is fine. Our floor smelt of stale smoke, and one of our rooms had clearly had previous occupants who smoked in the room. Beds comfortable enough, and the triple rooms were exactly what we expected once we were in them. Car park seemed well lit and safe, and it is possible to walk into town. Quite a lot of noise - the rooms are not well soundproofed and there is a busy road and train-line on either side of the hotel. It is cheap and good value, but I’m not sure I would risk turning up late and expecting my booking to be honoured - even if paid in advance.

Hadn’t visited Epernay for 14 years so decided to have a quick stop over en route to Channel Tunnel. As this was a one night stand I picked the cheapest hotel close to the Avenue de Champagne. At 45€ I didn’t expect much, however, Hotel Kyriad was a pleasant surprise. It’s a small, secluded hotel situated in a quiet side street just off the Avenue de Champagne. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything needed for a short stay. Unusually, as this was a ground floor room at the rear of the hotel, it had a door to a small external, grassed area with a chair to drink a glass of wine, smoke a fag, read a book .... a nice little extra. We didn’t try the breakfast as this was just after Covid restrictions had been relaxed and we were still a bit wary of mixing with strangers. Overall, a great location, more than adequate budget hotel at a very reasonable price.

A variety of room prices and styles. We chose self catering option for our overnight stay as we like the extra room an apartment affords over a hotel room. Spacious living area with sofas (not the mist comfortable for adults better for younger children) converting to two beds and a separate double bedroom (much more comfortable). Check in details were a bit more complicated than most other apartments we have used on our many touring holidays but with the help of another guest, we got in. We didn't appreciate the add ons to be able to have some crockery and cutlery etc, which I feel should be as standard if you are booking self catering accommodation. Bonus was the plentiful free parking in front of the property, a must when on a touring holiday as some town/city tourist locations are difficult to find when you need to have your car close by. Overall, the location nearby (by car) the champagne houses makes this property an affordable option for families.

We were looking for a cheap location to spend one night when passing by the Champagne region. We were pleasantly surprised by this Campanile hotel. The rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable, large flat screen tv. The en-suite bathroom is large, and features a hair dryer. The breakfast buffet (9,90€ pp) is good enough to start your day (fresh croissants were very good!). Overall, very good price/quality ratio, as this hotel is much cheaper than other in the region. Only one minor point: the rooms are not soundproof, depending on your neighbor, it might be noisy (wasn’t our case though...).

Anyone visiting Epernay this is an absolute must! My husband and I were visiting Epernay for the second time, the first we walked past and saw Champange de Venoge and said next time we go back we must stay there, so this time we booked to take our parents with us. We had 2 rooms (rooms 1 and 4) which were both simply fabulous, generous size and extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated, simply faultless. We arrived at 2pm and our rooms were ready, the hotel communication in the lead up to our trip was exceptional and provided so much comfort that everything would be ready when we arrived. The staff were all amazing, so friendly and welcoming and really made you feel at home. The daily breakfast was a delight and the tour of the house was also such a treat. The house is located on Ave. de Champagne so very house to a number of the big houses and only a short walk to the town centre. Not only is this an outstanding place to stay but an exceptional Champagne producer as well.. heaven.

I think we got really lucky here. A Bergere own two places in Avenue de Champagne and due to some problem with the booking website we use we got "bounced" from La Cave up to the A Bergere wine house at number 40. What a delight - you drive into spotless courtyard where people are sitting sampling the champagne and the gites are above and around the courtyard. This means tasting the cuvees outside your door. The apartment we had was huge, amazingly equipped and spotlessly clean. It was also a great spot to wander easily along Avenue de Champagne or into town for dinner. Half bottle of the product in the fridge as a welcome gift too. I wish we had more time to take the tour to the family vineyards, but that is probably an excuse to come back. What a treat!
