I have recently come back from staying a week at this hotel. Absolutely amazing! The staff were friendly. The service was great. We had booked large room to deliver training and they always went above and beyond during my stay. The WiFi was great during the day, but then could be intermittent in the evening but was nothing to worry about as the pool side was busy and there was a great atmosphere. The staff speak little English, but always tried to help where ever they could and would always greet me when in passing. The food, well what can I say? It was amazing! The breakfast, lunch and evening meals were absolutely amazing and don't understand why some people have said it needs improving. Rooms are always made and the hotel was clean. The pool was crystal clear and would always be cleaned every morning when I would go out on my balcony for a smoke. My room size was great and the bathroom was emaculate. Although the poolside does get bust at night, the noise was tolerable and did not go on for longer than necessary. The conference room that we had book did get a little warm even though the AC was on max, but that added to the experience. We always have fresh water bottles in the conference room in the morning and replenished in the afternoon. They reception staff were always friendly & help me on my check out when I could not locate my wallet (my fault as forgot where I had placed it). After such a great week, I was reluctant to come back to England. This overall was a great first visit to Tunisia and my overall experience of the country was enhanced by the lovely hotel staff and amazing food. If I had to give a CON it would be that the larger fish needed to be in a bigger tank. Thank you for a great experience and I wish you all the best. I will definitely be booking this hotel in the future.

I stayed here for one night in August and got a nice welcome from Ismail at the front desk. I negotiated an upgrade with his boss on the phone who allowed it as I have Genius status on Booking. I visited a standard room which was quite nice and spacious (34m2) then went to my 2 room suite with 2 bedrooms, a living room, a big bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and huge kitchen plus an unfurnished terrace. There were two single beds in one bedroom and a double bed in the other one, both with TV screens on the wall. There were comfortable couches and a large screen TV in the living room. There was a washing machine in the kitchen which could be useful for long stays but there were practically no utensils or dishes. I had a look at the swimming pool which wasn't suitable for swimming lengths as it wasn't very big and the shallow end was roped off for children. I had completely forgotten that breakfast was included in the price so later on I ordered some strawberry juice (no oranges in Tunisia in the summer!), a cheese omelette and a plate of fruit from room service which arrived quickly. I went to take a shower in the fancy jacuzzi bathtub. There were no shower caps in the bathroom and housekeeping didn't have any either but the worst thing was that there was no hot water. A friendly lady came over to say goodbye to me as I left which was nice but I wouldn't stay here again unless I was sure they had hot water.

Le Chambre Bleue was an excellent bed and breakfast located just outside of the Northwestward edge of the Tunis Medina. The owner and his wife were just so incredibly kind to us and really made us feel as part of their family during our stay. Any issues were handled with hast and they were so helpful arranging transportation for us. Beer and wine was available for purchase as well as free bottle water! Will recommend Le Chambre Bleue to our Friends! Breakfast may have been the highlight though, every morning being a little different than the previous. Homemade jams and bread were a highlight!

Not only if the location superb, literally at the entrance to the Medina where shops and food vendors are steps away, but it’s also such a pretty and unique hotel. In Tunis for one night, our manager reserved us to the diplomat.. and what error!!! This pseudo 4 stars is 15 minutes from Carthage Airport. Vesty decor, smell of cracked walls ...a hotel over time. The rooms are a valid copy of the hall and the rest of the hotel, with a 70's brine where everything is refreshed, used...Even the TV channels were in fashion.. analogical!! The only positive note, the kindness of the staff who prepared a late dinner despite the closure of the rest.

Scheduled for a superior triple room with children. But the bed was itchy. . . I don't feel clean. It's still so expensive. Not very satisfied. No free water, then the waiter stood in the room and asked for a tip. A little awkward. However, the attitude of the service staff was really good, and they accompanied me to buy supper at midnight. The location of the hotel is also super good, right outside the main street. very convenient. In fact, it is cheaper to spend money and live here.

Stayed here for 2 nights while in transit between vacation stops. It’s a lovely hotel with good rooms, friendly staff and good restaurants. I always felt safe and it’s also close to the airport. The views aren’t much nor is it located close to anything touristy but that’s ok as it is a modern, safe hotel with excellent staff. The gym is great which for me is a big deal - I enjoy working out at the facilities and they must be clean, either good equipment and a good space. The staff all spoke English and were friendly - highly recommend if you are looking in Tunis.

What a fabulous place to stay. A beautiful Art Deco Building right in the centre with easy access to the Medina, shops, restaurants, railway, etc. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly from the Reception to the dining room staff and housekeeping. On arrival we were allocated a room on the lst floor at the rear of the building. There was a small block of flats not far from the hotel building where unfortunately there was a dog that barked a lot of the time which included late into the night and very early morning. It appeared to be left out on the balcony. I don't know what the hotel can do about this but it is a problem. The next day we were given a room on the 3rd floor at the front of the building. So thank you to the gentleman at reception who arranged this. It was perfect, no noise and like the first room was of a decent size and comfortable. The breakfast spread was great with hot and cold dishes and a lovely selection of cheeses, breads, pastries and much much more. A true feast. A well deserved Excellent rating (despite the barking dog) and we will definitely stay again.

Food is OK although not outstanding for the price. Mostly friendly and helpful staff. Minuses: Being 5 star is more than just listing the facilities. Patchy levels of service with reasonable requests being met with unhelpfulness. Some of the decor, fittings and furniture is very poorly maintained. No alcohol served in the hotel or anywhere around, apparently because the entire area was or is owned by the Saudis.

First sisters trip to Tunisia, the overall experience was really good. It makes a difference to where you stay and the people you interact with. People in Tunis are really nice, polite and helpful. Our First experience was with Dar El Jeld. We felt so welcomed by the staff. I would like to personally thank few of the staff. Emily for being really accommodating, always has a smile on her face, very helpful and informative. Adul Kadir, Firouz and Yousuf, the security guys, they helped us when we needed to go anywhere, at times they went with us so we did not get lost and Arslan, he was the driver for the hotel. He went out of his way to accommodate to our needs. Made the children comfortable to a point they considered him family and referred to Dar El Jeld as home. Lastly the receptionist in the spa (forgot her name) she was amazing. They are all truely an asset to the hotel. I will definitely recommend this place. In the heart of Madina with the market right next to the hotel. We felt very safe at all times. Rooms are very nice and spacious, very clean, scenic view from rooftop. You just can't go wrong with this hotel. I will definitely stay there again.

The hotel is set at 3 stars at best, but safety is the first priority. Breakfast is average. The environment and food in Islamic countries cannot be complimented. It only costs 20 dinars from Tunisia airport to this hotel, but the airport rental is too bad and charges 50 dinars You, especially the hotel’s parking taxi drivers, must take pictures and keep them in order to avoid complaints when they are cheated. I have issued a taxi license number for a liar. Don’t take this liar’s car.

I stayed in this hotel for a night, and I warn you, nothing is recommendable, except that dinner can be acceptable, not even extraordinary. For the rest, it is horrible: very little receptionist and who jokes with his pot while I was talking with him, very loaded street side room without double glass( I let you imagine the noise) And cerezes on the cake already infected nearby with a night box that, from 22 or 23h, makes all the walls of the room vibrate up to at least 2h of the morning. I have not closed the eye of the night. For the price you are requesting, you will find much better elsewhere.

This hotel is located in the center of Tunisia and is an old hotel. As soon as I entered the hotel, I saw the big boss of the hotel supervising the work at the front desk. The boss also walked back and forth and helped with the management of the hotel. This was very impressive. The boss is polite and warm. I booked a suite this time and it was very clean and comfortable. The most unique thing is that there is a stool in the bathtub. This is specially arranged for the elderly or travelers with limited mobility. This is very thoughtful and deserves praise. It was very peaceful to sleep at night. The suite has a balcony with city views. The room includes meals, and the food is local specialties and delicious. I will stay at this hotel next time I go to Tunisia.

I absolutely loved this place. The location is perfect, in the charming streets of the Medina but out of the hubbub. The place itself is stunning - I felt like I was in a 5-star hotel - and I was warmly looked after by Munir and the rest of the staff from the moment I arrived. Everyone was chilled and interesting, and respected the peaceful atmosphere of the hostel. I'm sure I'll be back, and in the meantime, am glad to recommend this as highly as I can.
