|4.46km from city centerThis rather strange hotel located near the Guayaquil airport isn't bad really, just not a fancy hotel stop like many of the branded hotels also close to the airport. For a $5.00 taxi ride, you can get to almost any hotel in the area where you'll be much happier. Some of the hotels located downtown near the Malacon are legions better, though a bit more expensive too. This hotel is actually within walking distance if you are so inclined, though at night, walking the 10 blocks pulling your luggage isn't really a great idea. The hotel has adequate beds and sp**** rooms with locks that usually work. My room certainly didn't look like the hotel pictures. The breakfast is only fair, with no options, and not a lot of food. We were served eggs, one slice of thin toast, juice, and coffee. I'd probably not go back unless I was really desperate, but spend another $20 on a better room. On the other hand, I didn't die, so there is that.

All areas very nice and clean the swimming pool and the gym were the two best spots for my two young boys. |3.25km from city centerWe stayed one night in this hotel. Room was very clean, ample and they allowed a late check out with no problem. In room safe, desk, WiFi worked with no difficulties. Breakfast was excellent: cooked-to order omelettes, plenty of fruits, cheeses, breads, coffee and juice. The hotel is off a main avenue and may not be too safe to walk to/from at night. But you can have the front desk help you with a cab to nearby places. San Marino Mall is a 5 min taxi ride away: Mall del Sol and airport some 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. I regretted not having a bathing suit: they have a small but well kept pool area that looked great. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located on the Malecon Riverside (across a local main road) by the famous local Guayas River. Before arriving in Gua, I contacted the hotel in advance to arrange a pick-up by email. After leaving the airport, I could find myself holding a sign. The pick-up fee was paid to the front desk of the hotel at $10, and the driver gave a tip of $2. The superior twin room booked is large in size, and the room is also equipped with a small refrigerator and a table, and slippers are not provided. There are wall-mounted air conditioners. The front desk of the hotel can speak English and has a very good attitude. After arriving, I found that the business center was closed due to the epidemic, but the front desk could still help with printing. There is an open space with a roof on the second floor of the hotel, with tables and chairs, and a swimming pool next to it, which coincides with Christmas and a Christmas tree. The hotel provides a free breakfast buffet, which is changed every day. The beef there is very good. There are a lot of people in the breakfast room on weekends, so pay attention to protection. The only minor problem is that our room is close to the road, which is a bit noisy at night, especially because of cultural reasons, the locals like to drive by modified cars with super loud speakers all the way at night, but just get used to it. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the city center, such as the City Hall or Iguana Park. You only need to cross a road along the river. There is also a supermarket called Mini nearby to buy food and daily necessities, but there are many restaurants suitable for Chinese people. The location is perfect in the Puerto Santa Ana area, near restaurants, coffee shop, bars, etc. Most importantly, I felt very safe in this area. The service was good, except that the first time I had breakfast there, I was practically chased by the waiter to pay. I told him to put the check in my room and he mentioned that they didn't have a card on file. I had submitted my card when I checked in but I guess it was not registered by the receptionist for additional charges. I told him I would bring the card down. Well, he was already waiting for me by my door when I got to the room. It was quite annoying the lack of trust. I was not trying to walkout on the check! Anyways, the next time I went to have breakfast I made sure to bring my card. I found breakfast to be expensive by the way. You can find cheaper food around the area. I would recommend the hotel for its location as the rooms are ok but found them a bit outdated. I thought it was very nice that they offer hotel transfers at no cost. My driver waited for me for a bit since my flight had been delayed, That was really appreciated.

The desk staff was incredibly nice (and spoke perfect English). The room was clean and simple. The decor isn't anything to write home about--well, maybe the giant mirror along a wall by the bed is notable. But you will feel welcome and safe here. The breakfast was lovely. Just a quirky and sweet little place of excellent value. It's close to the mall so there are plenty of options for getting some dinner nearby as well.

Picture 9 is the first picture of the exterior with a large, stately palacial building - which is not the hotel. Picture 10 is the second exterior picture- but it’s not the exterior of the hotel, unless they mean the exterior of the hotel is several blocks away. This is a clean, attractive, cheap, comfortable enough hotel near some fun places on a ramshackled street, looking out on to ugly buildings and feels a little sketchy at night. It’s not an old, grand palace on a beautiful beach. It would be a reasonable place to stay. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good. The price is unbeatable. However, it’s easy to find a much nicer hotel for only al little bit more. It’s shameful that they put those pictures in their photos, leading viewers to believe the place was something other than what it is. It’s even more shameful that reviewers give 4 and 5 star reviews like it’s a fabulous resort destination!

|4.9km from city centerI liked the location, close to the Malecon, parks, shopping, banks and restaurants. The hotel has an elevator and I was on the top 4th. floor in a large single. Too large since the 40 ” tv was too far from the bed on the opposite side of the room. Keep in mind this is an older hotel and the furniture is spartan and the bed was hard but o.k. for me. Bathroom was remodeled and the shower had an all glass front. Plenty of hot water but tricky to maintain a nice temperature. Wi-fi is excellent! Staff was helpful. I had central air with no controls except off and on so I just toggled it, an inconvenience, but I turned it off at bedtime since it was not hot. It seems not as hot as previous years perhaps due to a change in the clime or maybe subjective. The California Restaurant is adjacent to the hotel.

|5.48km from city centerWhat a beautiful old character building! We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at this hotel, either side of our trip to the Galapagos. The decor is stunning both in the common areas and the bedrooms. Beds were large and comfortable, AC worked well and showers were good. Breakfast was similar to every other hotel we stayed in, and a takeaway breakfast was available for an early start. We found the staff friendly and welcoming (they also spoke great English). The hotel stored one of our suitcases for 10 days. There are a lot of steps but also a nice view. The hotel is in a very safe area and we enjoyed walking along the river where there were plenty of restaurant options. We also walked through Las Penas and up Cerro Santa Ana, a beautiful area, and plenty of security guards around if you stick to the main stairs. Checkout isn't until 12 so great to walk around and then have time for a shower before catching an afternoon flight.
