The entrance to the hotel is plain and unpretentious, in keeping with its heritage. That's just what a history buff like me was looking for on this visit! On my way to my room on the third (top) floor, I had a wonderful view of the picturesque inner courtyard and the peaceful patio. The room was plenty big, and was furnished with simple, period pieces. The all-important bed was modern and very, very comfortable. The bathroom was also thoroughly modern, although there was a bit of exposed plumbing where the new fixtures didn't quite install perfectly in the old building. Regardless, everything worked as designed. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The receptionist speaks English very well. The optional breakfast featured an excellent croissant or "pain de chocolat" (your choice) plus an abundant selection of bread, homemade jams, cheeses, yogurt, and more. The attendant is always nearby and eager to assist wherever needed. The famous terracotta brick historical area starts when you step outside the hotel front door. Many top attractions (e.g. Jacobins, Saint Sernin, etc.) are within easy walking distance, as are countless bakeries and pubs. The tram to Airbus or the airport is just a 10-minute walk away. I recommend the hotel for its location, friendly staff, and historical experience.

Summary: location, location, location. What better location in Toulouse can you build a hotel? Not too many. Shops, historical sites, restaurants, transportation... all surrounding this hotel! Pros: - Again: Location, Location, Location! - Very friendly and helpful staff - Nice breakfast - Large and comfortable rooms - Not a new property, but properly maintained Cons: - Looking for amenities? Look outside (it was only a minor issue to me) - If you pick a room facing the Capitole, it can be a bit noisy - Heavy traffic if you want to get in and out by car during peak hours I stayed at this hotel for a month during a business trip. Overall, I couldn't ask for more from a hotel, especially at the price I was charged. Take out a map and see where the hotel is. It is at the Capitole! The hotel is in a corner of a square with restaurants, coffee shops, and retail stores there. Subway station is a 5-min walk, and the Garonne is 15 mins walk away. There are numerous historical churches and museums closeby. Michelin and budget friendly restaurants, retails stores, shopping malls, supermarkets... if you are the social type, this place IS THE PLACE! That's right. If you are the type who enjoys quietness... remoteness... then this place is not for you. Staff... can make or break a hotel. This hotel's staff is excellent! Always helpful and friendly. There was not a moment when I felt I was helpless when I was thousands of miles away from home. I always got the help I asked for (of course, I was always reasonable). The hotel is not new, but it has been properly maintained. For what they charged me and the quality of service I was given, I will stay there again should I end up in that corner of the world in the future! Merci!

Excellent Hotel, location and car parking facilities. Hotel validates your ticket and cost per day is around 19 Euros. Car park is located underneath Hotel and you can use your Sat Nav to direct you to the entrance. We spent Christmas with family in Toulouse and found the room and facilities excellent. The privilege rooms are in fact two rooms with one containing a very handy modern kitchen and the other the bathroom. It gave us plenty of space with all our luggage. Both areas have flat screen TVs. The staff were always very pleasant and very helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back. The only negative was the street facing rooms can be noisy when the local bars and clubs close at night, with people passing.

Stayed here for three nights and really loved this hotel and it's central location. You enter the hotel through a beautiful courtyard and across a red carpet which gives a very glamorour feel. The reception staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. My husband and I stayed in a room overlooking the courtyard. It was spotlessly clean, fresh and bright. . The bathroom was large and sparkling with a big shower spa. The bed was the comfiest we have ever slept in besides our own. Sleep came easy as the bed was so cosy and the room so quiet. Breakfast was lovely and was included in the room price. There is also a coffee making facility available all day in the foyer. Lots of lovely local restaurants and bars around the square and the little cobbled streets branching off it. We were truly spoilt for choice as to where to eat each evening. We would then enjoy a night cap in the hotel bar before heading to our snug bed . We took a little train tour, which departs just outside the hotel on the square and it was well worth the €7 for a spin around the city to get our bearings. Getting to and from the hotel was easy on the airport shuttle bus which arrives and departs from the Jeanne d'Arc stop, about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Tourlouse is a lovely city to wander around on foot and there is so much to see and do that we will definitely be back again and will stay at the Ibis Styles Toulouse Capitole on our return visit.

While visiting Toulouse we paid a visit to the red brick Boutique Hotel Grand Balcon, with its large iron balcony overlooking the Place du Capitole, and once home for many of the early pilots for Aéropostale (Now French airmail service). Of this charming 1930's hotel only the main entrance remains the same, with its original multicolored warn mosaic tile floor. Today the hotel has a completely new avant-garde look in grays and white with stainless steel and leather, thanks to architect and designer Jean-Philippe Nuel. The staff were very friendly and full of local knowledge, explaining to us with pride about the Hotels connections to history, we spent quite some time looking at all the memorabilia. The hotel keeps the past alive with black-and-white photos of the Aéropostale aviation pioneers on the wall of the hotel's lounge. Back in the 30's the Florida cafe in Place du Capitole was very popular with these aviators from the hotel Grand Balcon and Matadors from a local bull ring. Legend has it that these young pilots would dancing the tango in the hotel’s dining room, and then carrying their lady friends up the stairs so that three spinster owners of the hotel would only hear one set of steps on the stairs. From the lobby of the Hotel it is only a short distance to the restaurants in Place du Capitole at the end of the street, and the Capitol metro station in Charles de Gaul square, where many different events taking place like the farmer’s market, flea market, exhibits, etc. TIP: The hotel is on a restricted road which makes it difficult to arrive in a hire car, so take a cab from the airport.

This is an excellent hotel for the price being centrally located for pretty much all you could want in this fabulous French city. The rooms are plenty large enough with excellent shower and toilet facilities. Wifi is strong & solid and heating is adjustable in each room. Breakfast is good quality with a choice of cooked or continental. Staff are helpful and speak good English. We went for a rugby game as a team of four and none of us had any complaints. There is an enormous choice of bars, cafes, and restaurants next, door, near by and a short walk away but you might want to find the market place just around the corner where a whole array of top quality food is for sale but also, on the first floor, there is a wide array of boutique cafe/restaurants all selling high quality local produce. Every desire is catered for. The only thin that might disappoint is you may have to queue as it it very popular with the locals which should tell you all you need to know..

We booked a junior suite which had a nice size outer room with a sofa, a couple of chairs and a large screen TV. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size. The suite was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was very quiet. My only complaint about the suite was that there was no place with a mirror, in or near the bathroom, to plug in the provided hair dryer. I had to plug it in near the suite door, in an outlet next to the closet. It was not very convenient. The included breakfast buffet had a nice selection of cereals, cheeses, breads, meats, etc. If you wanted eggs you had to make your own. The people at the front desk were very nice and tried to be helpful, but some didn't speak English as well as you would expect in a large, chain hotel in a big city. And a few were not very knowledgeable. The standout exception was a woman named Thara. She was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond several times to answer questions and help us in any way she could. She was terrific. The best thing about this hotel is its great, central location. It was within very convenient, easy walking distance to museums, parks, restaurants and shops.

Following a recent recommendation in the press I chose this hotel for a 1 night stay. My partner and I were extremely satisfied. Our superior twin room was attractive, comfortable and a good size. Beds were excellent and aircon effective and not too loud. The bathroom was also very satisfactory. Although the room faced the street there were no noise issues. Levels of cleanliness and Covid measures were very good. Breakfast was satisfactory but not exceptional. Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel represents good value for money and I would choose it again if revisiting the fine city of Toulouse.

Booked this hotel for one night on a stop over in Toulouse as a group of six. Had three twin rooms, two rooms had no functioning A/C, one had no plug in the bath (rooms all had baths not showers), there is no fridge in the room and no safety box. However it is a very good central location, rooms are reasonably sized and you are only paying £57 a night for a room in July in central Toulouse so your not really going to expect much more. We didn’t try the breakfast as it was 10 Euro per person while you can get a fantastic petit dejuner in the nearby Capitole for under 7 Euro. So I would not book this hotel for a longer stay unless you are really on a tight budget but it is fine and perfectly located if you on a tight time scale visit to Toulouse.

Even though I’m not a Millenial, I’ve stayed at numerous micro hotels targeting Millennials (citizenM, Yotel, Ruby, Moxy, etc) and Mama Shelter is definitely my favourite... Most of the negative reviews are probably from people who just don’t get the concept - of course you’re not getting a free dental kit and if you don’t like the mood lighting you can turn it off! This is my second MS experience - previously tried MS Bordeaux - and it fully exceeded expectations. I like some of the other Brands in this category, the rooms and the bathroom are more than adequately sized. The bed was comfortable, room was clean, everything worked fine. Service was perfectly fine throughout my stay - although if you expect to be waited on hand and foot you need to go back to Hyatts and Westins. The one time I had trouble finding a switch I called reception and the person was at my door in 3 mins to help me find it. The location of the Toulouse property if fantastic, and the bar and restaurant vibe is great. Only drawback I noticed was the lack of USB sockets which was odd given the target market. Can’t wait to check out Mama Shelters in other cities....!!!

If you're looking for an inexpensive option for a quick stay in Toulouse, ResidHotel Toulouse is a perfect option. The staff is very nice, helpful, and welcoming and the rooms are spacious and have the basics you need. Only thing you need to be mindful of is that this is a quick-stay, self-service type of place with no house keeping or room service. So you'll likely want to bring your own toiletries if you plan to stay longer than 1-2 days (as they don't refill soap or shampoos). The shower has a bottle attached to the wall as an "all-in-one" shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, if you are ok to manage with just that. Toilet paper is limited to the roll they provide and they give you one large towel and one small hand towel. That said, for the price it's a very decent place to stay. Rooms are clean and it feels almost airbnb or dorm-room esque. Most things are in French, but the staff speaks English and can help you out. I've stayed here twice now and would definitely stay again.

Probably a top hotel in its day but a clear lack of investment has resulted in tired and worn looking wooden rooms. Hugh Heffner clearly designed the reception. The shower dribbled out and the air con may as well have been a small child blowing raspberries. I was told the air con was down for maintenance but upon further reviews, back in February!!, they were also told the same... Tried the restaurant on the first night, no atmosphere and very average food, can see why no one would return the following night. Unqiue design and does have some quirks, but have stayed in much better 3* places than this. If you need a night by the aiport, its fine!

I struggle to find anything positive to say about this hotel. The receptionist who checked us in was nice and the breakfast was adequate for 9€pp extra. The area: it’s in a rough area of the city we didn’t feel safe walking the 20 min walk back from the city after dark. There is a metro station next door ( one of the reasons we booked ) lots of big groups of youths hanging around . Blood splattered pathways did nothing to reassure us it was safe. The hotel room: black mould on walls dirty, damaged carpet , dark, just horrible (the only reason we stayed was we were attending an event in the city the next day. ) I can see why they take payment up front ! The attached photos don’t show just how bad it was. The pool : yuck ! There is a scum mark around the water line that shows the pool hasn’t been cleaned properly for months, frankly I wouldn’t let my dog swim in there let alone myself The lift: if I were religious I would have prayed every time I got in it . It groaned and blinked and sometimes went to the totally wrong floor Checkout: we had paid upfront ( payment was actually taken twice by the hotel, I appreciate these things can happen ) but the receptionist on checkout attempted to take a third payment despite my having the receipt, also tried to charge us for 4 breakfasts for 2 of us. She then complained when I paid cash not card. In short don’t stay here it’s awful !

The hotel is very nice and the staff was welcoming. Please do not book this hotel if you have no car as it is quite far from everything and the hotel restaurant is not always open. It was more on the pricy side (restaurant) but the food was quite decent, especially for breakfast.

Toulouse City Center
We were disappointed by this hotel. I had tried to book car parking ahead of our visit but had been unable to. This meant that we only got one night parking and had to use the expensive nearby 'Indigo' parking for day two with an annoying changeover. Our room was dark and cramped and the hotel is in a back street and small. The owner appears to be competing for the 'Basil Fawlty of Toulouse' title. He was alternately rude and inappropriate. We thought that several of his attempts at 'humour' missed the mark by a long way. There are surely much better (and cheaper) places to stay in Toulose - we would NOT recommend Hotel Heliot. Our room had a safe but Basil told us that it was 'broken'. We also had very intermittent Wi-Fi connection.

To be fair, with low rates such as these you can't expect luxury. Telling that the hotel has the word "budget" in its name. Room was very plain and simple, reasonably clean. The breakfast room pleasant with even an outdoor area. Reception staff pleasant and efficient. The hotel is however a long way from the centre and sights. Expect to have to walk 20 minutes at the very least. Worse still, there is precious little in the immediate vicinity in the way of shops, bars or restaurants. Pleasant however to sit by the canal, under the trees. The worst surprise came at breakfast, courtesy of the man who served and organised service. I speak French with a certain degree of fluency but obviously not perfectly. I pointed out, perfectly politely, that there were no more plates. His only reply was to hurl a paper plate at me saying "well, if you say it like that!". I'm still not sure after all this time what I did wrong, but clearly another gentleman in the queue behind me, a French national, also tripped up and was told off for not giving his room number in the right tone of voice. Unbelievable.
