If I am to do one good deed in my life, let it be this, warning you, the reader, from staying at THIS hotel. I was visiting Florence over the weekend and had booked a one-night stay. In my effort to stay close to Roma Termini station, I ended up choosing a very poor location for sightseeing as the public transport was very unreliable. I was allowed to check-in and drop off my bags one hour before scheduled check-in time. The room was on the roof and had a very odd configuration, probably the result of being an attic converted to a hotel room. The AC was barely having any effect, as a result. That was the first red flag. I left for my explorations without thinking much about it. When I returned back, around 10:30 PM, I discovered LIVE BUGS on both of the beds. There was no lack of diversity as they were different kinds. I promptly took photos and called in the manager. On his first appearance, he perfectly portrayed the role of an innocent, aghast manager who was unaware of the failings of the cleaning staff and as if this was the first ever occurrence. That part was untrue as I later discovered in other reviews. He also apologized for the pathetic excuse of an AC, promised me a room change and went downstairs to make arrangements. Meanwhile I was trying to channel my inner chakras so as to be able to levitate and not touch the carpet. He called after 30 minutes and offered me fresh bedsheets as the promised room wasn't available. All my frustrated ramblings fell to deaf ears. While waiting for his arrival with bed sheets, I started frantically searching for hotels nearby. Unfortunately, it was around 11:30 PM already and nothing was available. I resigned to my fate. The manager came back with the sheets and seemed reluctant to perform the task of changing them as it was beneath his vaunted pay grade of night manager of a rundown bug-dump. Eventually he relented and changed the sheets. He left promising to make a note and alert the morning manager to offer me a compensation for my "inconvenience". For the next two hours, I tried to use my phone's flashlight (as the room was dimly lit) to turn over the mattresses and thoroughly search for signs of an infestation. The mattresses had dark stains on the underside. Finally, exhausted and having somehow convinced myself of the inevitability of the situation, I choose to turn in for the night. The breakfast was mostly thawed out frozen bakery items. While checking out, the morning manager was completely unaware of my situation. The valiant night manager who went above and beyond his duty to change the sheets had apparently fallen short on his promise. Anyway, the new manager expressed his regret for not being able to help me right away as it was a prepaid reservation. He asked me to contact the travel agency in two weeks to check on my compensation. I have traveled enough to see through the ruse. And right fully so, it has been a week since I started my inquiry through the travel agency and no

I googled a place to stay in Florence and after reading many reviews I decided to book our stay with II Grillo di Florence based on the positive reviews and pictures. The pictures and reviews were accurate - Lara and her husband were the best hosts ever!!! Our stay started with the owner sitting with us and discussing the check-in process, keys, places to eat and visit. He showed us the map, that included places to see together with means of transportation, he even sold us transit tickets to make our journey stress free. The morning after check-in Lara had a entire spread out for breakfast which included bread, croissants, cold cuts, yogurts, fruit and cereal. We truly enjoyed breakfast but we enjoyed our conversation with Lara the most...she is amazing! Friendly and attentive to our needs..she took the time to know us and even provided us with recommendations on where to go and must see. I can go on and on - Lara and her husband are the BEST!!!! The place is spacious, clean and comfortable, the service excellent and the owners AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend II Grillo di Firenze.

After reading some of the reviews on here we had very low expectations for our stay! However, we ended up in a nice, spacious room with a clean and modern bathroom. We were there for 3 nights and it suited us well. The hotel was a bit out of town but we didn't mind the walk and there were a few restaurants around. It was also only about 15 mins to the central train station. The staff were friendly but didn't have much to do with them as we were in a separate building to reception.

This B&B in Florence is one of the best ones I have stayed at anywhere. Located not so far from the city center, it is well connected by public transport to the center or train station. The staff was very welcoming and very friendly. The room was neat and clean and spacious. Bathroom was nice and clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Overall it has all the facilities B&B should have and is economical. So there is great value for money. I was entirely satisfied and will recommend this to all.

Despite some issues, we liked the stay. Hosts are doing a great job. · The host was very friendly and explained us how to get to the historical center by public transport. We had room for two people with a queen-size (not sure) bed. The room had an extremely high ceiling and a chandelier, but the floor was covered with tile which would fall off in some places. There is a wardrobe, a TV and 3 sockets in the room (which is not enough, in my humble opinion). We had a shared bathroom for two rooms (L'Aranceto doesn't have other rooms, as I understood). The stuff tried their best to keep the bathrooms clean and fresh and succeeded in that, I must admit. Towels and shower gel are included but there was no hairdryer, so be aware. (It turned out you could ask the hosts to get it.) There is also a kitchen and garden in the hotel, which look quite cozy. You can buy products in the supermarket not far from the hotel. Location is good: there is a bus station just around the corner. And at that station there is the best confectionary ever – try pistachio croissants and you will return here just for them.

We stayed here for three nights on our journey of Venice, Florence and Rome. It was very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The apartments are right across the street from a Tram stop. We took the Tram into town each day to visit the city of Florence, as well as to the train station when we were coming and going. Each room has a little kitchenette, and they provide coffee and tea in each room. The rooms also had a little balcony. The beds were firm. The hotel served a breakfast for an additional charge but we choose to eat out each morning. We would definitely consider staying here again if we came back to Florence.

Small hotel but has all the bare minimum necessities. We were in the room that's in the corner right next to the terrace on the first floor. The room has lots of surfaces to put things on which is nice. The window opens onto someone's roof top but it's private and opening the shutters is a nice way get sunlight into your room. The lighting otherwise is dark. There is no screen in the window tho otherwise bugs enter the room. Air conditioning works pretty well. Bathroom feels super cramped but is functional. There is no elevator so you have to carry your suitcase up the stairs. The breakfast is very carb heavy with very little protein, we felt very sleepy afterwards lol but it's a convenient option to start the day. There's a bus that runs on this street so that was convenient but about a 25 minute nice to il Duomo. The staff is very friendly.

After reading mixed reviews, we (my grandmother and I) decided to give this hotel a go for a 2 night stop over in florence. We wish we hadn’t bothered. Upon arriving at the central station, we were able to follow a 15 minute walk to our accommodation. This was a fairly pleasant walk, however we were met with a mass of roadworks which the detour to avoid increased our journey to over half an hour. Obviously this is outwith the control of the hotel but still not ideal. Upon arriving, there was no answer at the door. As there is no 24/7 reception we were advised to call the owners 10 minutes before our arrival - despite calling 30 minutes in advance (due to our long walk) we still had to wait a further 15 minutes outside the hotel with no shelter. A woman arrived with no apologies for her lateness and took us to our room (2 flights of stairs with no elevator - not mentioned on website and a nightmare for suitcases!) Upon opening the room... we found the bed had been slept in, used coffee cups on the dresser. The place obviously hasn’t been cleaned since the previous user. We alerted the woman (who spoke very little English) who began shouting down the phone to some other person. After this she asked us to return an hour later so the room could be cleaned. Bear in mind, this was at 6pm in the evening so the room had had plenty of time to be turned over. We didn’t mind, however the manner in which she shouted at her colleague in front of us and offered no apologies or compensation seemed extremely unprofessional. The room itself was fine. Beds were comfy enough, there wasn’t much noise outside (although cats could not pass the street anyway due to roadworks.) The location was good. Please note the bathroom is shared. Breakfast, however, was a joke. Each morning after the room was cleaned we were given a dry packaged crossaint each. Along with this we were also given a dry packaged “toast” each - which was dry as a cracker, and we found these almost inedible. There was a jam each but there was no butter provided. We were also provided with 2 bottles of water on the first day, although these were not replaced the following morning. The only positives in this place is that a cake is served each day, to be shared amongst all guests. The tea and coffee provided is also up to expectation. The price was decent but we found much better accommodation for similar prices throughout our holiday. 3/10. Wouldn’t stay again, but decent enough for a 1 night stop over in Florence. Pictures: Breakfast, and the state we found the room in Originally.

We came with a very large group (21 people) and the staff was amazing! They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience in Florence. If you're looking for restaurant recommendations, ask the staff! They were able to get us reservations at two really great restaurants. The rooms were simple, spacious, clean, and comfortable. It's not a luxury hotel, but it was perfect for our needs and you can't beat the price. It is about a 30 minute walk to the city center, but it's also located a mere 2 minute walk from a bus stop (line 22) that takes you directly into the city. We used the bus every day and so the distance wasn't an issue for us.

Great place to stay overnight. The apartment is located very close to Main Square, only about 20 minutes walk away. The room is large enough, air-conditioned, with a large bathroom, refrigerator and small kitchen. Gaetano is an outstanding host, very friendly and helpful. He will prepare you a great Italian breakfast.

We visited AC Hotel by Marriott Firenze on the 12-13th of August 2020, during the Corona Virus pandemic. Don't get scared of you find the front door closed. As soon as you ring the bell, the friendly staff will let you in. The check-in process was fast and effective. The receptionist took even his time to give us a city map and he explained us how to reach the old town of Florence. The room was big, sterile-clean and comfortable. There was no hair or dirt on the bed, as it sometimes happen in other hotel chains. The staff paid special attention to any details and all requests had been fulfilled. Because of corona virus there wasn't any traditional breakfast buffet. We were asked instead during the check-in process what we wanted to eat and we received everything at the table on the very next day. We could grab some some coffee or little extras for our Breakfast directly at the Bar. The lobby bar was closed due to corona virus but the receptionist cqn grab you a soft drink on request and book it to your room bill. Very convenient option. We needeed about 15 Minites to reach the old town of Florence but it was a very pleasurable walk. The central station and/ or tram to the airport are also very easy to reach. We are very happy that we stayed at AC Hotel by Marriott Firenze.

Stayed here in Oct 2017. Travel Agent booked after highly recommending to us.I sure didn’t like it. As hotels don’t have AC, we had the windows open. Temp was comfortable, but windows opened in, making a cramped space tinier. Bumped/ my head several times on open window at night. Shower was mediocre. When I needed more wire hangers on check in night...night manager took me up four flights...but no hangers in storage room. Location was ok, but not great. At night, we were treated to a street show...from Italian couples who were arguing and fighting in street. Buffet breakfast was highlight of stay. I’ll pass on this hotel if I ever return to Florence.

I stayed in this hotel with my friend for two nights, in a twin room with breakfast included. The first point in favor is definitely on the position. It is located a few steps (5 mins walk) from the tram station which takes you to the heart of Florence in 20 minutes. The staff is very kind and very attentive to the customer's needs. Especially in this delicate moment due to the pandemic, the staff observed all the anticovid rules by wearing a mask and serving breakfast at the tables. Another plus is the cleanliness of the structure and rooms. My room had all the comforts, very clean and above all everything in perfect condition. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

We stayed in Florence for three nights and chose this hotel on the back of Trip Advisor comments. We were not disappointed. The hotel is based in an excellent location about 10-15 mins walk from the centre of Florence but also in a quiet and peaceful road. We had one of the three rooms which had a balcony overlooking the hotel. Our room was superbly decorated with all facilities. There was also a nice introductory offer of a meal with complimentary bottle of wine for 39euro per night which was excellent value and a high quality. Breakfast was also excellent. The Staff were very courteous and professional without being over the top. This is little gem of a hotel and very well lit at night which maximises its attractiveness. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence and represents excellent value. My only minor quibble is the old 1970's type carpet in the corridors - I think its time for them to be replaced! I saw no other hotels in Florence which I passed which would make me change my mind and would happily stay here again.

Plaza Lucchesi Hotel truly is a 4.5 star hotel. It is located in a great location within walking distance (10-15 minutes) to the city center, facing the river Arno. It’s a beautiful hotel close to everything, yet not in a crowded part of the city but “surrounded” by plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. I stayed at room 208 which is a spacious, comfortable superior double room with a big window directly facing the Arno with magnificent river views. Bathroom was also spacious but it had a not so comfortable tab. I would prefer a shower instead. The only problem was my internet connection which was frequently interrupted and my mobile signal which was no good. I also took a look at single rooms, since some friends stayed there, and they were nice, clean and beautiful. The best part of this Hotel is the absolutely beautiful view from the rooftop pool bar, overlooking Florence, especially on sunset. If you go there, up the 5th floor, you can see the entire uninterrupted panorama of Florence. The Staff was really friendly, professional, helpful and welcoming and they all spoke good English. We felt welcomed right away. From the reception desk, to the cleaning ladies and the personnel at breakfast, they are all so kind and attentive that made us feel at home. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options, a good selection of everything and something different each day so you wouldn’t get tired of the same food. I loved the croissants although I admit I expected fresh made pancakes and omelets! The concierge was very helpful and corresponded to our needs. Generally we had a wonderful customer experience and we would definitely stay there again.

Carefully write a review of the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, three nights in Florence, 2 nights PORTRAIT, 1 night to experience the seasons, give the following suggestions: 1) Service: Say service first, personal feeling, PORTRAIT service is more cordial and enthusiastic. There is WELCOME DRINK at the door, with beer and red wine and other drinks. There is a doorman from Russia who is very enthusiastic and can really describe himself as a guest. If you leave, you will also ask if you want to bring bottled water. Four seasons, no one can say bad, but it is very standard and professional, but there is no temperature. PORTRAIT won. 2) Location: The four seasons are far from the attractions, but not far away. The distance cannot be said to be a weak item. The hotel has a garden, but it is not very big, but it is okay (refer to the size of Shanghai Garden Hotel). Moreover, mainly, the garden layout is not very special. PORTRAIT is on the edge of the old bridge, the most central location, everything is convenient. PORTRAIT won. 3) Price: Four seasons more than 7900 35M2, no early; PORTRAIT 4500 one night / 4900 one night, 40M2, but the hotel gave me a rise, lived 53 room type, including 2 early. PORTRAIT won again. 4) Room decoration: the room, the four seasons are European style, or the law-abiding; PORTRAIT is more modern, also comes with a simple kitchen cabinet, you can eat yourself. Personally, the style is like PORTRAIT. 2 bedding products are good. 5) Four seasons, because the price is much more expensive, my heart naturally demands him. Service I scored 4 points because it was not special and the price was not good. The Michelin-starred PALAGIO restaurant has also tried, and can only say that it is okay, not surprising, and quite satisfactory. 6) Four seasons should be expensive in many additions? For example, I saw that there is still a hairdressing. It is estimated that the SPA is also very good, but it is not used. In addition, there are swimming pools in the four seasons, but it is not big or open. PORTRAIT does not have a swimming pool. The above hopes have a reference to later people.

We were really looking forward to our stay in the Palazzo Castri, but ended up being very disappointed. We had a Junior Suite and it was rather small. The bathroom was right next to the sleeping area and had glass on the doors, Thus, if someone got up to use the bathroom at night and turned on the lights, it would wake up the other person. In addition, the noise coming from the heating/air system was very loud. Even with ear plugs we could hear it (my wife's parents had room next to us for 1 night and it kept them up all night). We could also hear noise from rooms all around us. They did move us our room after the first night and it got a little better. We called to order extra pillows and had to call 3x (each time). The breakfast was ok. The breads were rather stale. The evening tea was also disappointing. They would run out of desserts and it would take a while to restock the trays. On the positive side, the hotel garden is beautiful. After our room was moved we had a beautiful view of the Duomo. The manager went out of her way to help us and she was very nice. The problems with the rooms etc are out of her control. The hotel is just not built very well. The location of the hotel is a short walk from the train station and very central to everything in Florence. Overall, very disappointed in our experience. Probably would look for another hotel in Florence.
