Hotels Near La Locanda Dello Yeti In Abetone Review
I stayed here 4 years ago, and had to come back with my friends. Since I was last here, the owners had renovations done and every window and door is double glazed and mosquito netted. The rooms are as beautiful as ever and it was a god-send having air-conditioning as well, but the stone building meant the villa remains cool throughout the day. I particularly enjoyed the fresh local fruits, pastries, yoghurts and juice at breakfast. Every room has it's own personality so it is a must to come back time and time again to stay in each room! I definitely will! Villa Lucchesi is in a fantastic little town called Bagni di Lucca, it has great amenities with local bars, gelato, pizzeria, swimming pool and the views are just intoxicating. If that's not enough, it is only a short drive to Lucca, Barga, Pisa and Florence to name a few. It is also a particularly great place to go hiking in the mountains, ski in winter and rewind in the natural thermal spa.
This beautiful old house is amazing, and Beatrice and Anna Rosa are such kind and thoughtful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them, everything is just so, the breakfasts are excellent (too many lovely cakes!!) and there is a good sized pool with plenty of seating in the sun and the shade. Our room was lovely, with a terrace overlooking the town and the hills. It is an ideal location in Barga - a couple of minutes walk from the old town but quiet and peaceful - not disturbed by the music festival and the church bells! Barga is such a beautiful and vibrant place to visit, and this is definitely the loveliest place to stay when you are there.
My friend and I were in Florence for a month and decided to have a few days near Bagni di Lucca. This was THE best decision of our very enjoyable holiday. We took the train from Florence, changed trains in Lucca and caught a bus to Ponte a Serraglio which is the nearest village to Hotel & Terme. We then had to walk around 2ks up a steep hill to the hotel. It's certainly easier if you have a car. However, the trek was worth it. The hotel has the best hot pool (a constant 34C) which was just what we needed after our trek up the hill. The hotel is a little dated but clean, comfortable and has a great restaurant with very reasonably priced food - 20 euro for a 3 course dinner plus buffet. The menu changes every day. There is a day spa attached to the hotel with a variety of health massages, wraps and steam cures available at extra cost. The pool is open from 9am to 9pm and we made great use of it. I would definitely return to Hotel & Terme. Brilliant 3 days break from a very busy Florence.
We have been coming to Bagni di Lucca and surrounding area for 20 years for holidays and to visit relatives. In recent years I would go an afternoon or evening walk along the river Lima, cross the footbridge in Ponte a Serraglio and pass the Albergo Corona Hotel. In recent years the building looked somewhat neglected and had been deteriorating - a shame because its had great potential, heritage, history and is beautifully located on the bank of the river Lima. I was delighted to find this year that the building had clearly benefited from significant investment and been fully refurbished. It was looking probably looking better than at any point in its past 100 years of history and was now a beautiful and very tasteful boutique hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in August and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The decor overall was excellent and our room was perfect with a small balcony overlooking the river Lima. The staff were all delightful, we had a warm welcome and great service throughout our stay. We realised that on our last evening there was a special event scheduled in the hotel, involving performances by young English soprano and an Italian male tenor. We decided to go and enjoyed a lovely evening. We had an excellent table overlooking the river, a beautiful three course meal with wine whilst being entertained by two excellent vocalists performing in turn on the balcony and on the terrace beside our table. All of this under the stars on a beautiful warm summer evening. I am not sure things get any better than this? It was fantastic. To summarise then, a beautiful boutique hotel, in a great location, with committed owners - who have obviously invested significantly to create the new Corona - and great staff. We will definitely return again.
Our group of seven had a wonderful time during our week with Rita and Alex! We booked the 7 night/8 day all-inclusive vacation package, and it was great to just relax and not have to worry about a thing. The cooking classes were fun and informative, and all the food was delicious. Alex's wine was also incredible, and it was a treat to be able to sample so many different varieties. We really enjoyed the opportunity to explore Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Lucca, Barga, Sommocolonia and Pisa - particularly since Rita gave us the flexibility to explore a bit on our own and meet back at a specific time and location, so we weren't committed to sticking with the group the whole time. The B&B itself was nice and comfortable - not fancy, but a clean, nice space. There was also a small laundromat just a very short walk down the road, so we were able to wash clothes while we were there as well. The included breakfast was lovely - coffee, tea, meats and cheeses, yogurt, croissants, fruit, cereal, etc. - and the doors were open throughout the day if we wanted to come downstairs for a snack or another glass of wine. It was all just very comfortable and relaxed, and Rita and Alex were so warm and welcoming!
We have stayed in this nice B&B on weekdays of low season. The location is perfect to explore by car all the Garfagnana mountain’s little Tuscan towns. The room (Superior Room) was spacious and well cleaned. Natasha, the manager, is very nice, attentive, and careful. Besides, you do not necessarilly need a car to go out for diner, for example. There are good restaurants and grocery stores in the Borgo of Pieve Fosciana, which are only 1 mile (1,7 kilometers) far. In mid-spring swimming pool was out of service, and the temperature had been weirdly under 16º Celsius at 2:00pm, for our (for me and for my wife) joy. We have been living in Florence for 3 years, but we were born in Brazil, and maybe that’s why we have never been hot-summer-type guys (laughing). Villa Belvedere is a great choice, anyway, also for its sort of french-style breakfast.
