We stayed in the villa not main hotel. Beautiful room and bathroom, very Italian. Only ate breakfasts during our stays as wanted to experience authentic meals whilst out and about. Evening bar service an issue due to single member of staff and multiple expectations. Staff all very polite and friendly however consideration of workload might well indicate need for higher staffing levels. Montecatini Alto via the funicular railway (need a head for heights) is a must do. The hotel is well located for visiting Lucca, Pisa, Florence and many parts of Tuscany

We stayed as a couple during the pandemic. We wanted a base to explore Tuscany and knew that we would be driving around. The location is uphill with a stunning view over the valleys. I would not suggest you can stay here without transport. The closest town Montecatini-Terme is around a ten minute drive. We arrived on a Sunday and a word of warning that hardly anywhere was open locally and there is no food available at the hotel so plan ahead! Staff were friendly and sorted any issues we had - our gate key wouldn’t work on one occasion. We stayed in the penthouse. Bed was comfy, enough kitchen equipment to Cook although we never did. WiFi worked fine. Our shower did back up abit so you had to be quick on there to avoid a bathroom flood! This was the only fault I could find and I’m being picky. Perfect stay, great location, peace and quiet and would recommend.

I had really high hopes for this place. The photos looked great, really modern and luxurious. The reality fell somewhat short. The rooms are reasonable but it’s not luxurious by any stretch - we had a junior suite and a family member had a more basic room, but really the difference was that our room felt a bit larger but rather sparse - apart from a “pouf” at the end of the bed, there wasn’t any extra furniture to justify the higher price for a suite so the room felt empty. Still the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was good. The service was inconsistent and fell short of expectation. Some front desk staff were very friendly, others were not. The breakfast was an exercise in frustration. Only one person takes the orders and he is often in and out of the kitchen and hard to track down. The other 3 waiters are busy serving but they won’t take orders. The system seems pretty ineffective - they should really change it. Every morning was a wait to place a coffee and eggs order - one morning it took close to 25 minutes which is frustrating when you are keen to get out for a day of sightseeing. The wifi, as other reviewers have noted, I’d terrible. It didn’t work at all for 3 days of our trip. The good points - location is nice and quiet. About 10 minutes to the station and less to town. Montecatini itself is a great town and well situated to explore Tuscany, Florence, Pisa. We parked outside - a couple of days it was very full so we had to park maybe 500 meters away, but other days it was fine and we could find a spot outside. One of the front desk staff who was friendly helped us pay for street parking online and then we just placed the printed voucher on our dash. They also will register your number plate so you can enter the ZTL and not be fined. The restaurant was also quite good. Breakfast was above average (long waits aside) and we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. Overall, it was a reasonable stay but fell short of expectations based on the price we paid.

The price/value rate is good! Breakfast is more than enough. If you are in a hurry or just staying shortly it is ok. The bad thing is that the voice is coming thrue the walls easily so if your neighbor is a family who are loud it is hard to have a rest. Another thing was very irritating. During the breakfast (every breakfast while we stayed) an older lady was staying at the hall. She is coughing very very strongly and this noise not matches at all to a breakfast time. The rooms are clean and we could choose when we arrived! Otherwise the staff is great! Samantha is very kind and very very helpful and fast in the communication. The reason why we have chosen this hotel was that she wrote us an answer in a couple of minutes by time we have sent our mail.

I stayed here for four nights in early September as part of a group booking. The hotel is in a good location, very close to a park, old spa buildings and not far from the town centre. First impressions of the room were favourable; a reasonable sized room, with modern fittings. The bathroom had a walk in shower and had a sort of 'mineral / sea water' smell, but this may have been due to the cleaning materials used. The room had a small balcony overlooking the road in front of the hotel with one chair (no table). The room had the usual mini safe and fridge, plus a phone. We were supposed to get wake up calls each morning, but after the first day, these didn't happen. The air conditioning in my room didn't seem very efficient (the temperature outside was 30 degree plus), even with all the doors and windows closed and the AC on the lowest temperature and highest setting. I found it difficult to sleep as the room was so warm. We had mostly half board during our stay with dinner in the hotel most evenings. Breakfast had a range of meat, cheese, bread, fruit, and cereals plus eggs and bacon, although there didn't seem to be any variation over the four days we were there. Dinner (for our group, it may be a different offering for individual guests) was substantial in quantity, sometimes very good, but not always, Roast chicken one night was rather dry, but pasta courses were usually better. Apart from the inefficient air conditioning, my main concern about the room was the poor sound insulation between rooms. Whoever was in the room next to mine had the TV on very loudly; so much so that I ended up leaving the room rather than being able to relax in it. On one evening, our group went out for dinner and at around 11.45 pm we returned and a member of the hotel staff was asking the occupant to keep the volume down as someone else had complained. The next day the TV was on as loud as previously. Anecdotally I was told my next door neighbour was a hotel regular. Another member of our group commented over breakfast one morning there was a dog in the room next to them and they'd been woken up at hours when they could have reasonably be expected to be asleep, by the dog barking and whining. Other minor niggles included no plug points near the bed, no peep hole to see who may be at the door, and a shelf by the bed which wasn't firmly fastened to the wall and which sloped down. There was also a green light above the door, presumably to indicate the door in the event of an emergency at night; but it was very bright and meant the room was never dark at night.

A fancy small hotel with good food and very courteous staff. The rooms are clean and tidy. It is located in the very center near the motorway. Small refurbishment is needed but this is an appeal to the entire Tuscan region, which is not packed with modern details, but the past that makes this region very rich.

A medium size, friendly independent hotel with a lovely ambiance. Excellent check in process, we were given the option of communicating rooms with the children, rather than the two rooms we had booked - we lost our balcony (sad face), but communicating rooms was a more expensive option that we were not charged for. Also offered parking within the blue zones for 4E per day, good value and hassle free parking. The staff work hard, saw the breakfast team leaving at midnight and back the next morning, but they were always happy to help. The hotel itself is beautiful, its recently been renovated with some care. Good standard of rooms, but the shared areas and the dining areas are quite beautiful. Location is excellent, walk to great restaurants bars and the train station etc. As well as the Terme’s. If you have a car dine at Al Bivio - try the steak. Beds - super comfy, great aircon, the water pressure is high so the walk in showers are fantastic. Buffet breakfast was good enough - if you’re in the higher grade rooms you have a separate dining area. Sitting outside on the terraced hotel from with waiter bar service is an excellent post dinner opportunity. Pool area was clean with waiter service (the perfect place for an Aperol)The only slight negative was number of pool sun loungers was too few, and a couple of people thought it was appropriate to “book” them by placing towels on them, then disappearing. Global problem and not worth dropping my five star rating.

My wife Jane and I enjoyed this lovely unpretentious family hotel which is centrally located within easy walking distance of many local attractions and facilities. The hotel is spotlessly clean offering room, bar and restaurant. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful with most having a good grasp of English thus making up for our poor Italian. They are a credit to the hotel’s reputation, bravo! The king size bed was very comfortable. En-suite facilities are modern and clean with lashings of hot water. The continental breakfast offers a wide selection on a self service basis. Evening meals are excellent being of high quality, delicious and presented beautifully. Well done Hotel Puccini, thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Jim & Jane.More

Lovely old hotel that has been tastefully up-dated. Some things aren't retrofitted well in old buildings though and air conditioning is one of them. It was quite hot when we visited (37c) and many guests had real problems with the heat. We were at the back of the hotel so by leaving the doors and shutters open in the evening the temperature fell to a manageable level. The breakfast is fabulous, I've never seen a raw honeycomb to help yourself from before. There are a few hot dishes every day but every bread product you can imagine, the fruit juice is excellent and (unusually for an Italian hotel) so is the coffee. The rooms are tasteful, a full wardrobe of coat hangers and the tea, milk and coffee were refreshed every day in our room. I notice reviewers say there is no complimentary toileteries, there are stylish dispensers with shampoo and soap in the bathrooms that are kept topped up. Come on you don't really need diddy bottles, wean yourselves off the single use plastic. You do have to select your evening meal in the morning, but if it is something you decide you don't like the look of, there was no problem having it changed. The staff are very obliging and try their best to make sure you enjoy your meals. A bottle of wine at dinner starts at a reasonable 12 euros. There is no pool but there is an excellent spa opposite where you can swim in thermal waters. You get 10% discount on all treatments there if you take over one of the hotel's business cards they're on reception.

Drinks are sold at the bar, and light meals are available at the bar by the summer pool.Guests can relax in the garden, and sunbathe on the terrace with sun loungers. Free WiFi is provided in public areas. Tuscan city tours and excursions can be booked at reception. The hotel lies 600 metres from Montecatini Station, and the cablecar to the mediaeval part of the town is a 5-minute walk away.

I stayed in the hotel as a tour guide with a big group. I have had good experience. The staff is really very kind and helpful, the rooms are quite small but clean. The breakfast was typically Italian and the dinner was really very good and rich every evening. The location of the hotel is very favourable, the funicular to Monte Alto is only some steps. I can recommend this hotel.

we came to Montecatini Terme on a couples (romantic) getaway! and it was just lovely. Hotel was perfect, staff helpful, breakfast wonderful, rooms clean and basic - but with charm. The winner for us was the hotel pool - rooftop! The view from sunbathing here was stunning and it was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing even with the small amount of other guests nearby. Theres much to do in the town - lots of squares to explore and many wonderful restaurants to eat at. I would definitely recommend Hotel Boston and a visit to this beautiful part of the world.

At B&B Central Toma I felt like home. The room and bathroom were big, clean and tastefully decorated, the bed large enough and comfortable. The B&B is located near the city center, at only five minutes (by foot) from the train station. I enjoyed an extraordinary Italian breakfast at the most beautiful bar in the whole city (the breakfast was included in the room price). The hosts were very kind and always attentive to my needs, I see that they like this kind of work and they are made for it.
