The Perugia Plaza hotel is conveniently located close to the motorway and just minutes from the city centre of Perugia. Parking is available upon booking. The rooms are generally clean, although the carpets could do with some shampooing. The air-con system is dated and noisy so unless you turn it off, you'll have to sleep to its humming sound. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Very good room rates. Breakfast is a little poor - just a lot of sweet things (cakes, croissants) some cereals, and for those who like a salty breakfast there are some cold hard-boiled eggs, some cold cuts and some cheese. Gluten free available too. If you bring a pet, there is a €15 supplement. This is not indicated on the website. There is actually no explanation for this cost as nothing extra (as the word supplement suggests) is available for your pet - no bed, no food, no bowls. We've travelled extensively with our beloved poodle and have never paid a penny extra, yet were offered dog bedding, food and bowls!

This new hotel is situated on a picturesque hill on the outskirts of the historical town of Perugia. The hotel’s structure and location makes it seem like a secluded and exotic village, and yet it is served by great transport links, including a bus to Perugia that stops directly outside the hotel.Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life by enjoying a Turkish bath followed by a relaxing swim in the large pool, or by renting bikes for the whole family and exploring the beautiful surroundings.Alternatively, you could tuck in to a local specialty dish at the restaurant ‘Fontanelle’, which is ideally suited for banquets of up to 200 people. All 33 rooms offer panoramic views of the town and are equipped with all common facilities. Restaurant opening hours:Breakfast: 07.00-10.00.Lunch: 12.30-14.00.Dinner: 19.30-21.00.On sunday evening, the Fontanelle restaurant is closed.

I loved this hotel for a few reasons - it has a gym and lovely if small pool - and yet is a wonderous 5 minutes up escalators to get to the very centre of the old city - and the escalators take you through extraordinary historical archways - like being on a experiential studio trip - except they are real fortifications. Also, when I called the hotel after leaving a small necklace in the bathroom - they super speedily tracked it down, and sent it to me in the post, without even asking me to pay postage. If I return to Perugia, which I would absolutely love to, I will definitely want to stay here.

After my fourth visit at this hotel and some more travelling around Italy best Four Stars, I still feel the need to write a note to this unique hotel as being one of the few "Triathlete's paradises" in this country: here you can stay in your real-4*-Level room at the first/second/third/fourth floor and get the elevator to a two-lanes regular 25m pool, including starting blocks and wall stopwatch for training. At the other end of the pool the tub widens up to offer a little area of Jacuzzi-Like relax with air flows coming from the floor and at sacral zones. The Little fitness and spa area is completed with a small traditional finnish sauna, and a small but working turkish bath, a little relax area and a small but complete gym with Technogym gear including the ubiquitous "unica". Too bad that the hotel is somehow "aging" ... some rust is emerging in the pool area as various signs of wear in the old side of the hotel, which is the part over the pool ... the hotel has also a separate "tower" with newer rooms. Rooms acoustic isolation is fair to the next rooms, minimal to the outside traffic noise, which is somewhat "important" on the E45 side ... having to choose a room I suggest to request highest floors on the opposide side of E45: anyway Rooms are typically extra-wide (excluding singles) and most have balconies. The buffet breakfast is complete and reasonable in days when the hotel does not host groups, where it's served in a small room at ground floor ... complete and excellent when large groups are hosted when it's served at the first floor beautiful and wide restaurant. Don't miss a visit on Sundays if you are an athlete or "triathlete" stepping by ... as you can find the best prices.

We stayed here with our kids (ages 8 and 11). The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We had a king-size bed in a separate room while our kids had one of the largest sofa beds I've ever seen in the main area. We also had a great terrace and a spacious bathroom. The pool was beautiful and our kids loved playing in it! The hotel staff was very attentive and was happy to recommend nearby places to have dinner. The breakfast, which pre-covid was a buffet, was wonderful. We got a list of the available items and could order whatever we wanted and it was brought to the table for us. The hotel was very compliant with all the covid procedures, which I appreciated. Some of the amenities (like the spa and gym) were closed due to covid, but we didn't mind - there was plenty to see and do on the property and within a short drive. Overall, a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this resort!

We spent a weekend at this hotel. It is clean and although it is not in the city centre, it is easy to reach it. Breakfast was also good and there is also a section with Gluten-Free items for guests who may need this type of food. A special thanks goes to Giovanni who went out of his way to find a taxi to deliver us some items which we had forgotten in our room.

We stayed two nights and loved this hotel for its comfort, spaciousness, location and staff. Due to a change in our plans, we called the hotel requesting two rooms, a day ahead of our reservation. Despite calling about 4:30 pm the same day, the staff was most gracious and kind accommodating us in two Superior rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were modernized and extremely comfortable. Located in the historical district and Pedestrian zone, it was convenient to walk to all of the sights and restaurants. The next day we were upgraded to the Junior Suite. The change was seamless; as we went touring and returned to find the staff had handled everything beautifully, to the most minute detail. Our new suite had a view over the Piazza, and a frescoed and timber ceiling from the 1400's. We felt like we had just entered the lives of Duchy royalty. How fitting that the Collegio di Cambio was just down the block. Once could imagine that after painting those incredible frescoes, Perugina had come back to this Villa to kick off his shoes, sip wine and school his student, Raphael, on the finer points of painting. Absolutely stay here, and spend at least two nights to get the full effect of beautiful Perugia and the Hotel Locanda Della Posta.

What a lovely hotel the Perusia in Perugia is. It is situated just out of the old city, about 20mins walk away, but is on several bus routes connecting with the Station, the centre of town and picturesque outlying villages. The hotel is spotlessly clean with very well maintained rooms and public areas. It offers a excellent buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice ranging from cooked meat, cereals, hot food, cakes, fruit, yogurt etc. I stayed at the hotel off-season in February when it was fairly quiet and enjoyed the tranquility and serenity as well as the wonderful views across the valley to Assisi and Spello. There is a restaurant Canto Sesto just opposite the front door which offers a good range of italian food to suit most tastes. I found the staff at the hotel friendly with good English and lots of helpful suggestions about where to go and what to do. I used public transport to get around and found good train links to Arrezo, Assisi, Spello, Spoleto and Siena. I used the train from Rome Termini to reach the hotel and also noticed trains running to Florence and on from there to Milan. This area is a pleasure to visit in February without the vast numbers of tourists which come in the Spring and Summer and I was lucky to have a week of wall to wall sunshine with temperatures around 12-14 C. in the daytime. All in all this was a great holiday and I will certainly return to this hotel again.
