The staff couldn't do enough to help me. They have a smattering of English but hey you're in Italy! they are very supportive and accommodating. Hotel is basic but lovely, beautiful garden. Word of warning there's no lift ... so be prepared if you are on the top floor! Having said that I was helped up with my luggage at check-in :) It's closer to a 30-minute walk in the heat and if like me a little tubby! but an easy walk to all the main attractions and even some that aren't on the main tourist trail. Well worth a visit!

Carefully write a review of the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, three nights in Florence, 2 nights PORTRAIT, 1 night to experience the seasons, give the following suggestions: 1) Service: Say service first, personal feeling, PORTRAIT service is more cordial and enthusiastic. There is WELCOME DRINK at the door, with beer and red wine and other drinks. There is a doorman from Russia who is very enthusiastic and can really describe himself as a guest. If you leave, you will also ask if you want to bring bottled water. Four seasons, no one can say bad, but it is very standard and professional, but there is no temperature. PORTRAIT won. 2) Location: The four seasons are far from the attractions, but not far away. The distance cannot be said to be a weak item. The hotel has a garden, but it is not very big, but it is okay (refer to the size of Shanghai Garden Hotel). Moreover, mainly, the garden layout is not very special. PORTRAIT is on the edge of the old bridge, the most central location, everything is convenient. PORTRAIT won. 3) Price: Four seasons more than 7900 35M2, no early; PORTRAIT 4500 one night / 4900 one night, 40M2, but the hotel gave me a rise, lived 53 room type, including 2 early. PORTRAIT won again. 4) Room decoration: the room, the four seasons are European style, or the law-abiding; PORTRAIT is more modern, also comes with a simple kitchen cabinet, you can eat yourself. Personally, the style is like PORTRAIT. 2 bedding products are good. 5) Four seasons, because the price is much more expensive, my heart naturally demands him. Service I scored 4 points because it was not special and the price was not good. The Michelin-starred PALAGIO restaurant has also tried, and can only say that it is okay, not surprising, and quite satisfactory. 6) Four seasons should be expensive in many additions? For example, I saw that there is still a hairdressing. It is estimated that the SPA is also very good, but it is not used. In addition, there are swimming pools in the four seasons, but it is not big or open. PORTRAIT does not have a swimming pool. The above hopes have a reference to later people.

This place has a lovely personal feel to it. A lovely boutique B&B with lovely staff. Location : five minutes walk to a selection of places to eat and some shops. Laundromat about 7 minutes walk away. 25-30 minutes walk from train station (costs 15 euro to taxi that distance) Service : friendly and helpful staff, they provide a free map of the city. Alfonsina serves a beautiful breakfast buffet and it feels like being looked after by your aunt. Breakfast : great selection of cold meats, pastries, breads, cereals, yoghurt, freshly in house made croissants, omelette... Room : gorgeous! Very tidy and clean, has a homely feel but modern. Comfortable bed. Would definitely come again!

It's basically a taxi to the central area. It's expensive to take a taxi in Florence. It's not very cost-effective, but the hotel is really good. Breakfast is of high quality although there is not much variety. The junior suites we stayed in were also quite spacious. But the senior room size set for a friend is relatively small.

When we checked in we were offered an upgrade to a bigger room for 30 euros. The room and bed were considerably bigger so we went for it - it was 30 euros per night not the 2 nights of our stay! This wasnt the problem though! On our first morning we got up and had the very lovely breakfast before heading out to explore Florence. Which we did, cranking up 16 miles of walking. Had a lovely day and got back to the hotel ready for bed.......However our room had not been made up/cleaned/restocked etc. So unmade bed, wet towels, dirty coffee cups, no more coffee or milk. I spoke to the very lovely receptionist who came and took photos, and brought clean cups etc and even offered to clean the room whilst we waited in reception. But as there is not bar or TV or anything in the reception area and we were keen to get showered and to bed ready for our next day exploring. I had been hopping for some recompense for this, but was told the following day that it was our fault as there was a little red light on the door locking system that said we were not to be disturbed - which we had not been shown and were not aware that it had been activated! Anyway apart from this hicup, the hotel was fine and reasonably priced (if it had been cleaned!) and comfortable enough with a good breakfast. Be aware that it is not in the center of things so expect a reasonable 20-30 minute walk. It was nice and quiet though - from the location, but as it is a bit of a weird set up being over 2 floors and needing to use entry codes to get in and out to the stairway, I can imagine if you had a room near one of the clunking locks it would have been noisy with other guests coming and going. Had a lovely old fashioned lift too!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in July. It is rare to write a review that is 100% positive but this is certainly one of them. The hotel which is discreetly located on the second floor of an old building has been beautifully renovated to the highest standards whilst preserving original features such as the paintings on some ceilings . The old fashioned lift may look quirky but it works well and can take a guest or two and luggage. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean, looks stylish and smells good with freshly cut flowers in the reception and in the breakfast room. The superior double is very spacious with a high ceiling which is beautifully decorated and also has a small walk in dressing/hanging area The rooms are as tasteful and as elegant as they look on the photos. The air conditioning works very well (we had to keep putting the temperature up as we had it too cool initially!), the room is very quiet even though it was overlooking the street and the large bed is comfortable which all makes for an excellent nights sleep. It is hard to believe you are in a busy city! . The bathroom was also tastefully designed in beige marble and the shower was powerful and hot. Breakfast is served in a lovely airy room with a high painted ceiling. It is a cold buffet of meats, cheeses, croissants, fresh fruit, yoghurts etc and was very nice. The coffee was freshly made for each guest and I loved it. The owners speak excellent English and were extremely welcoming and happy to offer advice, recommend restaurants etc.The hotel is about a 15 minutes walk from the main attractions or if you choose to use the hop on hop off bus there is the number 2 stop just around the corner. The hotel doesn't have it's own parking and the owners direct you to an underground car park called Parterre a few minutes drive away, The cost is 10 euros for the first day but increases to 15 euros on the second day and then 20 on the third etc so this could be expensive for a longer stay. If you use your car to drop off or pick up from the hotel be sure to tell the owners as the hotel is in a ZTL which is a restricted traffic zone so the owners need to give the police your licence plate number presumably to avoid fines. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. The owners clearly strive to provide a first class service and they definitely succeed.

It seems that the other surfaces are good, but the sheets and quilts are dirty. Look carefully and have black fluff. It’s really speechless or best western. My God, after talking to the front desk, I will give you a replacement and then say nothing. A sentence does not have any apologies at all. A very ordinary attitude cannot be understood.

We stayed for three nights, on our first ever visit to Florence. The B and B is in a good position, about a15 minute walk into the centre of the city and all that offers. The room was very well equipped with all we needed. Breakfast was served in our room or in the small kitchen/ breakfast area. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would recommend a visit here.

Great hotel with super friendly and helpful staff, pleasant continental breakfast and clean, modern rooms with all the necessary facilities (mini-fridge, safe, hairdryer etc). My boyfriend and I still can't understand how it's rated 2 stars as we've stayed in not as nice hotels that are supposedly 4 stars! It is a bit of a walk from the main tourist attractions (25-30 minutes) and there isn't a great deal in the way of bars/restaurants nearby but there is a bus that takes you into the town centre in 10 mins from right by the hotel. My only real criticism would be how tricky it was to get to from Pisa airport - you have to get a coach, then a tram and then a bus which took us a couple of hours. I think the hotel's website makes the journey sound a bit quicker and simpler than the reality!

it is my third or fourth stay in this little B&B, centrally located at walking distance from both the railway station and the exhibition center, Fortezza da Basso. it is locatd very close the old San Lorenzo market. Large rooms, all renovated, nice and modern design, very comfortable bed, perfect cleaning. Room are equipped with a small fridge, air conditionign TV and a working Wi-Fi. The shower (no bathtub) may be dark in some rooms, but it is not a big problem, at least for me. Normal amenities in the bathroom. A basic but suffcient breakfast. Nice and friendly staff that can also help you in going around and/or booking trips and museums. Indeed very good value for money

This place is more like an "appartment" than a B&B. We stayed in room #4 which has two twin beds and is quite spacious. Upon arrival no one answered the door but when we called their number, someone came to help us within 5 minutes. My advice would be: make sure you have the phone number with you. I guess waiting, even if only for a few minutes, might not be nice when it's raining. We loved the wooden floor, the beautiful ceiling and decoration in the room (simple but in style with the old building) especially our chandelier :-). The bathroom is very modern but consists only of a toilet and shower. The wash basin is actually in the room itself, around a corner, which didn't bother us. There is a water cooker in the room but only tea, no (instant) coffee. So if you like to drink coffee, you have to bring your own. There are lots of TV channels but not a single English or other language one. The room is up a short flight of stairs and then a small elevator takes you further up. The location is just UNBELIEVABLE!!! A 5 minutes" walk from Palazzo Vecchio and 15 min to Ponte Vecchio. There is a taxi stand around the corner at Piazza della Repubblica. There are several good options for breakfast nearby. Would certainly recommend. Hard to beat the price and location!

Nice small boutique B&B. Check in was easy with everything explained and being personally shown around the hotel and to the room. The Superior room is exactly like the pictures, with a bathtub inside the room. Lots of space, large TV, and a bathroom with lots of mirrors! Lots of hot water, and the bath was great to use. Didn’t use it as a shower so can’t comment on the water pressure. Simple breakfast with pastries, cereal, spreads, yoghurt, juices, coffee, cold cuts etc served in the dining room. No staff onsite after 7pm, but there’s still little touches like mood lighting and music playing through the common areas.

I mean during the check in the entire time, the staff ignored me the entire time, I understand he knows I was with my friends, but I have my reservation separately, he should handle it by the order, and not just assigned me the smallest room just because I was a single person.I booked the exactly same type of room just like my friends, and their room is twice bigger than mine. And I can only eat breakfast in bed because there was no room to put it. That’s hilarious actually.

Location is good especially for those who likes walking, it will take you 15-20 minutes to reach the Duomo. Staff is very welcoming and friendly: they gave us a map and gave some recommendations about main sights and places to eat. Our room was very cozy, beautiful and clean. Also, the building itself gives you very special atmosphere. There were two bottles of water and some cookies for free in the room while check-in. Breakfast was very good (served in the cafe 5 minutes walking from the hotel): juice, coffee and baked goods (2 pieces to choose). This hotel is a very good choice for its price!

We spent 4 nights at this hotel last week. I always use trip advisor for recommendations and it’s always been on point and very helpful. This is the first time that I just don’t understand all these 5 star reviews. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a residential building. When you walk into the building, there are stairs to get to the first floor. On the first floor there is a small elevator you can take to the hotel floor. Be prepared to carry your luggage up to the elevator. The room was big with high ceilings. The bathroom was a decent size as well. It seemed clean. The WiFi was a big problem as we couldn’t connect any devices due to their router having a problem. Luckily they had another room available and we were moved because that room had a stronger signal and because I needed the internet for work, I had to agree to pack our things and move. The second room was nicer. The design was better and it even had flowers which was a nice touch. They have a buffet breakfast with few choices and after the first few days, it wasn’t enjoyable because it was the same thing day after day. Bread, cereal, croissants, cheese, ham, Nutella, jam, fruits, juice. The dining area is nice. The biggest problem we had with the hotel was the smell. There was a smell as soon as you enter the hotel and it was even worse in the room and especially bathroom. In the bathroom was such a strong sewer smell. I was so disappointed. I’m not sure if the sewer issue is just in this hotel or others as well. The location was decent. It’s just a few minutes walk from the Santa Croce church and shops and restaurants. It’s about a 13 minute walk from the center where the Duomo is located. With all this being said, the hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They were willing to help with what’s needed.

There are three people in our family, and one double bed can be added to the double room. Hygiene can be good, the bathroom has ultraviolet lights, can be disinfected, air conditioning and cooling is good, sound insulation can also be. However, the hotel is rebuilt in a building with a small environment. The room next to the breakfast hall will be affected by the voice of the diners early in the morning; if you wake up early, it will be less affected. Relative to the price is low!

No elevator, no elevator, no elevator! The important thing is said three times! If you want to climb a narrow staircase to the upstairs with a huge suitcase, you must choose this hotel! The shower room is terrible. The shower has a red, yellow and blue light, and the entire bathroom is colored. Service is general, active awareness is not strong! But a young girl at the breakfast bar was particularly enthusiastic. I had to miss the train that day. She packed it for me early, very good!

Capri Moon is about a 10-15 min walk from the train station. Just follow google maps to get you to the location. It will be hard to find but it is worth it when you find the place. When you get to the building 17 look at the panel for Capri Moon and press the button. Walk into the double doors and wait until they buzz you in the right gate. Walk upstairs all the way to the top and the guesthouse is to your right. Now for the room itself, the beds are comfortable along with the pillows. The restroom is great as well. The pricing isnt bad for the location and if you share with a friend or two, it wont break your bank account.

We, a family of 5, stayed here for 2 nights. PROS: great location. It is right on the edge of everything, so the streets are quiet but it is still close to the Duomo and Accademie. Clean. Everything was quite clean, the floors, bathrooms, beds. Super nice. The owner and his staff are all super I d and accommodating. Free breakfast. It is pretty “meh.” My picky American kids wouldn’t eat most of it. The fruit always seemed overripe and there was other weirdness about it. But they do try. Spacious. The rooms are large and the bathrooms not super tiny. My three gripes about it: It is very dated. The lobby area is probably clean but it looks like your great-aunt’s living room, cluttered with doilies, lace tablecloths and old appliances, so it looks a little grubby. Everything could use a fresh coat of paint. It looks like an older Airbnb vs a 3 star hotel. Our fridge didn’t work. We were there in the middle of a heat wave and would have liked for our water to be cold. The housekeeping turned off the air conditioning while we were gone. It wasn’t unbearably hot or anything but as I mentioned, we were in the middle of a heat wave and after walking all day in 102 degree weather (with a baby in a baby carrier!), it would have been nice to come back to a nice cold room. Overall, I’m not sure I’d stay here again. There are certainly a lot pro’s but the price for a more updated, nicer hotel isn’t that much more. If you’re trying to save a buck, it’s fine. If you’d like to feel happy about coming back to your hotel room after a hot walk about town, I’d probably choose elsewhere.

The hotel's location is in the heart of Florence, and is far from the main attractions of the core area, close to the Pitti Palace and the Old Bridge, is a region where the locals live more, compared to the main attractions area has a quiet alarm. Despite some issues, we liked the stay. Hosts are doing a great job. · The host was very friendly and explained us how to get to the historical center by public transport. We had room for two people with a queen-size (not sure) bed. The room had an extremely high ceiling and a chandelier, but the floor was covered with tile which would fall off in some places. There is a wardrobe, a TV and 3 sockets in the room (which is not enough, in my humble opinion). We had a shared bathroom for two rooms (L'Aranceto doesn't have other rooms, as I understood). The stuff tried their best to keep the bathrooms clean and fresh and succeeded in that, I must admit. Towels and shower gel are included but there was no hairdryer, so be aware. (It turned out you could ask the hosts to get it.) There is also a kitchen and garden in the hotel, which look quite cozy. You can buy products in the supermarket not far from the hotel. Location is good: there is a bus station just around the corner. And at that station there is the best confectionary ever – try pistachio croissants and you will return here just for them.

The 5th floor is basically equal to our 6-7 floors. My husband has to move 2 big boxes. The bathroom is not in the room, so if you want to go to the toilet at night, you should wear the clothes out. The price was great as well - especially after we had stayed in a pretty expensive shoebox the night before. The service was really exceptional! We had forgotten our jacket in a taxi on our way to the hotel and without us even asking, they called the taxi service and made sure our jacket was returned. The lady running the place was very friendly and extremely kind. The only issue we encountered was that the wrong address was provided in the TripAdvisor confirmation so we first went to an incorrect location, however when we called the property they directed us to the right place....so please make sure to check the address with the hotel. I chose this wonderfully special ‘home’ to stay in in the heart of Florence for my husband’s surprise 50 th & I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to stay for the occasion! The location for starters is spot on , close enough to walk to everywhere but slightly off the beaten track so it’s not too busy at night! Our hosts were absolutely amazing , nothing was too much trouble we were given recommendations for a restaurant for one night which was fantastic, help when we were planning our trip to Venice for the day & breakfast adjustments for me being a vegetarian ! The warmth extended to us whilst we were there was that of being with friends which most definitely added something to our stay, Alessio, Josie & the gorgeous Klajda went above & beyond anything I would’ve expected! The place itself Is like stepping back into 18 th century Florence but with a modern twist to make it truly comfortable & the attention to detail is phenomenal! One evening we came back to a bottle of fizz with two very generous slices of a delicious chocolate cake as a gesture for my husband’s special celebration- it’s the thoughtful touches that make all the difference & this place has those in abundance! Thankyou all for making out stay absolutely perfect! Emma & Bill

Everything was perfect much berrer than the 4 star hotels I normally stayed in.

I consider myself very lucky to have found the Hotel St. James on my recent trip to Florence. My travel partner and I arrived in Florence by train in the morning only to find out soon after that my travel partner had accidentally booked us into a hotel 20 minutes outside of Florence! We decided to look for a new hotel and chose the most reasonably priced one we could find online to make up for the money we were going to lose on the other hotel. We arrived at the Hotel St. James not expecting much given the very low price, but it turned out to exceed our expectations in every way! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Our room, which included a private bathroom, was very large and clean and was cleaned every day. The beds were comfy and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that a free breakfast was included each morning (btw, the breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety). But perhaps the best part (aside from the staff because they were in fact truly amazing), was the hotel's very central location. More specifically, it's just a short walk from the train station and within walking distance of everything you'd want to see in Florence. If I ever make it back to Florence, I will definitely be staying there again. Don't let the low price fool you, this place is a gem and the best deal in town!
