The hotel is easy to reach from Gard de Nord train station being only 6 stops on Metro Line 2 and then a 5 minute walk. However its half way down a small road which is easy to miss in the dark so pay attention. The rooms are based either side of a central passageway and on either the ground or first floor, accessed by stairs, no lifts. I was on the first floor and this was not a problem for me but might be for others. I had a Standard Double Studio which has the bedroom partially separate from the small kitchenette and shower room / toilet. The room was quiet and, although small, normal for Paris. Everything was provided as expected including a nice coffee machine but only 1 coffee capsule and 2 tea bags, as I was there for 4 nights I bought more from the local supermarket. The room was quiet during my stay and neither too hot nor cold. The only negative point I would make is although this was a 'Double' the bed was pushed up against the wall meaning that a second person would have to get out of bed by climbing over the other person or via the end of the bed, fortunately I was on my own but maybe a question to ask booking. Overall the hotel and room met by expectations and I would stay there again,

Do you want to stay somewhere and experience real Paris? You won't find a tour bus stopping here. It is clean and it is affordable. It is also spacious. The wifi worked. There was a tv and a shower. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but there were people everywhere so it was fine. The owners may not speak English as per other commenters. I don't know. As I speak French, it was fine. They were nice. You could probably manage with an easy translation app. It isn't like you are going to discuss much with them anyway so don't let that keep you away. The staircase is definitely unique and challenging so if you have mobility issues, you will need to reconsider. They do help with your luggage though. I will stay here again if I return. Basic French breakfast is provided and it's fine, but we took advantage of the pastry places since we don't get to France much. Restaurants and grocery stores in very close proximity. The bed was a little hard so if you need a plush bed, maybe not your joint.

We stayed for a night outside the main tourist town for the first time (11th arrondisement) to see the Atelier des Lumieres show. We had a choice of two Ibis hotels and this one was at a very competitive price. It is quite small for an Ibis but we had a cheerful and helpful reception rescuing us from our execrable French and murderous accent. The room was small but clean and comfortable the shower and toilet again small but functional and with the wonderful hanging dispenser for the shower gel. I wish I had one at home! The wifi was excellent, we were able to stream Netflix from our Oz account. Mobile reception not quite so good. Air conditioning was very effective. Our room faced teh courtyard and was quiet. It made a really good base for a walk and meal in the area, both of which are recommended. The breakfast was good and certainly kept us going until our mid afternoon flight meal. Checkout was easy. Possible improvements would be to add card security to get the lift to your room and perhaps a hot water source for a cup of tea. We did not use the room service menu but it looked like it would do the job.

We were originally placed 5 floors up, with a window that didn't close properly. We requested an alternative room which they did accomodate. The first night we stayed in a 3 person room, which was clean and tidy - but it would have been quite small with three people in it. The staff allowed us to leave our luggage in their storage facility as we were in a different room the following two nights. The second room we stayed in wasn't great! We had to cross through a courtyard, which was more like a building site, into a separate room. The room was dirty, there was mould growing throughout the bathroom, and it was very small. There was also mould growing on the ceiling of the bedroom. The location itself was great for exploring Paris - easy walking distance for the metro or bus into the centre. There were also plenty of small shops and resturants for getting food in, although the hotel does a breakfast (which we didn't try.) The lift is very very small - barely fit one person with a rucksack, and the stairs are a steep spiral, so I would not recommend if you have any mobility problems. The staff themselves were very helpful and friendly, but the hotel itself is small & dirty. The neighbourhood isn't fantastic - I wouldn't feel safe on my own at night.

We could have easily given this hotel a better review because of its good location and clean rooms. We really enjoyed our stay up until the very last night when our room was robbed (along with three other rooms). 1. Four rooms were robbed (with other guests from Europe and South America). The affected rooms were in different levels of the hotel, and we were all scheduled to check-out the next day. We do not know if the thief/thieves were able to gain access to this information. The hotel receptionist said that this was just a mere coincidence, but this is hard to believe. 2. No forced entry in any of the affected rooms, which means that our rooms were easily opened using a hotel key card. During the night of the robbery, the hotel receptionist said that only the hotel receptionist and the cleaners have a copy of the master key card. We were later told that one of the master key cards went missing. We do not know how it went missing, but this was the hotel receptionist’s explanation of how the thief/thieves were able to enter our rooms. 3. Our luggage zippers/locks were destroyed (the other guests' luggage zippers were also destroyed in the same way), so even though our shopping purchases and some valuables were kept inside closed and locked luggages, they were still forcibly opened. 4. We wanted to view the CCTV footage, but the hotel receptionist said that there wasn't any CCTV camera in the hotel. This is very surprising, given that the hotel has several rooms across several floors (6 levels). The hotel lobby and hotel entrance did not have a CCTV camera, even though the main door of the hotel has a sticker/sign that says that the hotel is being monitored by surveillance videos. 5. When we asked the receptionist to call the police, he said that he couldn't get in touch with the police. However, we were easily able to call the police by ourselves. We spent the next day in a police station to file a formal police report. 6. Upon checking-out, the hotel offered to waive the cost of our hotel bill, and after we left Paris, the hotel’s management also offered to compensate us for a partial amount of the value of the items that were stolen from our room. We appreciate this gesture from the hotel’s management. We’ve all read about pickpockets and the growing number of scams in Paris, and as travelers we try our best to prepare and avoid that. But the last place that you would expect to get robbed is in your own hotel room where you should feel the safest while you are on a vacation. Naturally, we were left feeling very disappointed since we never expected this to happen in a hotel with good reviews. We hope that the hotel can improve its security so that future guests wouldn’t have to feel scared or worried that a thief/thieves can enter their hotel room at any time. We truly appreciate the concern shown by the hotel manager following the incident. If only we could have also received the same level of concern from the hotel s

We had a lovely stay at the Acacia while visiting the Atelier des Lumieres - it’s across the street from a grocery and several small cafes and right on a central bus line. The staff were very accommodating, loaning us both an umbrella and a fan when the room was stuffy. Love that you can open the windows for fresh air and to feel more a part of street life. The room is basic to be sure, but met our needs very nicely and is priced attractively. I give very high marks, however, for the super fast and efficient follow up when I realized I had left behind my iPad. It was too late to go back for it as we had a plane to catch but the front desk staff, after some back n forth messaging, got it in the mail to me and I received it in 2 days (all the way back to the U.S.!) I will be forever grateful. Just a note on the stair/elevator comments from another review - the elevator works very well but if you have lots of luggage do it one person at a time. The stairs were easier for us, being on the 3rd floor; we found them neither narrow nor steep.

Great and comfortable hotel if you're looking to save some money and don't mind travelling a bit to get to the city center. Clean, good-sized rooms (especially for French standards); comfortable and large beds; noisy street but with the windows closed you don't hear anything; nice, French breakfast is served in your room at the time you agreed on; tv, a/c, heating in the room; friendly staff. It takes about 20-30 mins by public transport to get to the center of Paris, but the metro is just around the corner and there is a direct bus to Gare du Lyon. Neighborhood is quite nice with different restaurants, bars and bistro's and some shops within 10 mins walking from the hotel. Good value for money and would definitely come back here again!

We stayed here for three nights and a great little hotel to stay in yes the room small and the shower but it did the job for the amount of time you stay in you room. The reception. Both the lady and gentlemen could not be more helpful nothing was a problem we recommend the bar next door but one looks like shop frontage but once you enter is a tiny bat with a great atmosphere you are slightly out of town but parmenter is a five minute walk and you can travel around on the metro without any problem. We would recommend this Little gem

A nice little hotel in the 20th Arrondissement. Within a easy walk from the métropolitain and the several bus stops. Located on the Rue des Pyrennes, the street is filled with shops featuring meats, cheese, wines, etc. And, a large number of cafes and brasseries nearby so you won't starve. The hotel staff is multi-lingual and very pleasant. Basic amenities. A price friendly alternative to the more expensive "name" hotels.

I have stayed at the Hipotel Paris Gambetta Republic on 236 Rue des Pyrénées on many occasions as I used to live in this part of Paris. The man and woman who normally work there during the day are very nice. I would normally rate this hotel a 3 as it is in a good location and is a good value. On my last visit I stayed there on 28 and 29 December and when I checked out at 12:00 on Sunday 30 December I had a terrible experience. I asked the younger man who was working at Reception if I could leave my small carry on luggage there for a couple of hours and he very rudely and abruptly said no, even though I have done this on a number of occasions in the past. So, I had to carry this around Paris for several hours. In addition, I was rudely told that checkout was 11 am even though their website on clearly says 12:00 noon. This individual who appears not to be a people person should be given some basic training in courtesy and customer service by the Management of this Hotel as well as training on the Hotel’s check out policy. Very disappointing as I have been a frequent guest at this hotel and as I have stayed there on many occasions in the past which is why I am only giving it a rating of 2 on this occasion.

We "discovered" this charming hotel by accident--the Paris heatwave of 2019 (i.e., we booked a room in a hotel without AC). After making the decision to check out of that hotel, we found this one at the last moment, and what a relief from the moment we walked in the door. And the AC is quite good (and you have complete control over temperature and fan speed). Our weekday manager, Veronique, was very welcoming and helpful, and we were able to settle into one of the two rooms we had booked as a "family room": one room with two twin beds, another a short way down the hall with a queen. The twin bed room (#43) has a bath; (#44) a shower. Both look onto an open airway (sorry, no views here), but at the price, it's fantastic--very quiet and very comfortable. There is no fridge in the room, nor microwave, but the staff will let you store a bottle of wine in the fridge (the stores close around 10, so make sure you plan). The rooms have great lighting (including flexible reading lights!), and are equipped with storage space and a desk. By "American" standards, the rooms may be considered small (and the elevator smaller--think moving phone booth), but again, don't try to sleep four to a room here--you can't. Staff will clean your room if you want (they are also "Eco" rated, so if you don't need a clean towel, keep it off the floor and staff will leave it), the tele does offer CNN International as the only English channel, and there is a McDonald's across the street if you must. But at your doorstep are several good bakeries, a well-stocked grocery (Carrefour is two short blocks away), and the Gambetta Metro stop (#3). Pere Lachaisse Cemetery is a five minute walk. And a host of very good bars and restaurants. You will really experience the charm of Paris here, away from the tourist crowds. Oh, and the #69 bus (that Rick Steves and others list as "the" public bus tour of Paris)? It stops right in front of the hotel. Mind you, it took us more than an hour to travel from here to the Champ de Mars (the park in front of the Tour Eiffel), but what a trip--it drives by the Hotel de Ville, through the Louvre, past Les Invalides...). Keep in mind that the neighborhood is smack-dab in the center of the 20er Arrondissement--it's one more stop till the end of the line for the Metro (but it's within the beltway). Be prepared to discover the wonders of the Metro... And if you've ever seen old movies where you turn in your key before you leave--they still do that here. And there is always someone at the front desk (although the evening staff's English is a little more limited, they are quite helpful, and you're in Paris!). So, to "vos saviours" at L'Hotel Palma, merci beaucoup. You really helped us to save our trip.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Hotel is near great bus services. I'm not a seasoned traveller so didn't know what to expect. It is a basic budget hotel serving a very good breakfast for the price. My only criticism would be that it could so easily be tidied up by things like making sure the plugs worked in the bathroom sink and stitching up the cushion seams on the bed headboard. There were a few lose screws around which could have meant, for example, the glass shelf over the sink falling off. On the plus side the water was always hot (take care in the shower not to knock the tap). Rooms on the road side were noisy and our window would not shut properly. I'm only being picky because these seemed to be so easy to rectify and if the owner reads this review I hope it helps. This wouldn't be suitable for someone who is disabled. The lift takes your suitcase and 1 person if you are not claustrophobic. I mean SMALL. Overall the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The owner (I assume) on the front desk spoke good English and even phoned for us to check our return shuttle car was booked. The 2 ladies serving breakfast were cheery and efficient. If you want a place to lay your head, a good breakfast and easy journeys to the city centre, this will suffice.

The hotel location is very good, very close to the Arc de Triomphe, a five minute walk to the subway station can also take a direct bus to and from Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airport. Facilities breakfast also fully reached the four-star standard, the gym is relatively small. The front desk is more enthusiastic. There is a little brother who can speak Chinese, which makes communication more convenient.

Stayed at the B&B hotel for three nights while visiting Disney. Anyone looking for a cheap place to stay this is perfect. Hotel is spotlessly clean, really friendly staff, good sized rooms with comfortable beds and shower room. The hotel serves a simple dinner of pasta or pizza which is great, easy to order and quick to come. Breakfast is simple but just want you need at the start of the day. Tables were cleared quickly and everything very clean and presented well. We were worried about the shuttle overcrowding but there are a few services which only run from the B&B hotel and others which go to the other four hotels on the complex which makes it easy. We always got on a bus even if it was busy and never had to wait long! Lockers are available to store luggage if your arrive before your room is ready or check out early. We will be back on our next disney trip!

For the first time in a hotel model, the century-old building is said to be a historical cultural relics protection unit in Paris, so it is completely banned. My old cigarette can only smoke in a small yard. Miss Luo is very enthusiastic, let us have the feeling of going home. There is a black guy in night shift who speaks Chinese very well. He said that he read a book in Guangzhou. In the morning, the girl named Marty also speaks Chinese. There is no problem at all, and at the same time give us a lot of advice on the tour, much stronger than those that are not reliable. It is very convenient to exit the subway 50 meters away. This area is a safe place for French people to live in. The room is big enough to be the floor-to-ceiling glass window in Europe. Our bedroom is very close to the yard, so the living room is a bit noisy. It is highly recommended to add a Chinese breakfast. It is really not suitable for those cheese breads, and it is better to have Chinese TV. If you have the opportunity to come back to Paris, you will still come to the Paris Residence.

Good location, nearby Carrefour, franprix and other supermarkets! I live on the 2nd floor facing the street, and it is very quiet at night, but the sound insulation between the room and the room is really average. The room is not large and has a balcony (not every room, so it is best to leave a message to tell the room with a balcony when booking) ), There is also a door in the bathroom sharing a balcony with the room, so the balcony is quite large. The hotel only provides shampoo, shower gel and hair dryer. Slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, so it is recommended to bring your own toiletries. Lines 7 and 10 are only 5 minutes' walk from the surrounding area. Line 4 is about 15 minutes away. The 5th district is a Latin area, surrounded by universities, so it is safe! The hotel has access control locks, staff need to help open the door to enter! Breakfast is an ordinary western-style breakfast, bread, milk, eggs, oatmeal, sausage and cheese. A tax of 1.88 euros per person per night, which must be paid to the front desk when checking out. This Ctrip will also call you when you are in China to inform you that this tax must be paid to the hotel separately! The hotel provides free wlan, but the Internet speed is average, the room has air conditioning and heating. In short, the price is high!

We got a beautiful Junior Suite with Balcony, even in the city and on a street with traffic located, it was very quiet and you couldnt hear anything from outside while the doors are closed. It is very spacious and with a very pretty bathroom with luxury amenities from Hermés! And of course full equipped mini bar with Nespresso coffee machine. The breakfast is delicious and a mix from a la carte and buffet, what I love. So you can have everything what your heart desire. The best is the amazing Akasha Spa!! It is so big and has everything, big indoor pool, big sauna, big steam bath, big jacuzzi and a cold bath. Even if they are many relax beds to lay on, sometimes you are just alone and its like you have a private spa. Friendly and helpful staff all around the hotel! I definitely will return!
