Stayed part of one night as this is the nearest hotel to Manosque hospital to which a young American friend had been admitted after a serious bicycle accident. Her Mom asked me to help out as I live in France. Her sister and I arrived at the hotel around 11 pm and exhausted and anxious we headed to our very hot and stuffy rooms (no aircon) without reading the not obvious sign on the front door which the surly receptionist the following day told me explained the difference between an Hôtel with daily housekeeping and an aparthotel like this...nothing. Apparently I had told her in the Morning as we rushed off to the hospital about the disgusting leak from the fridge and she claims she had efficiently got it cleaned up. When we returned to the place around 1600 in order to check out as we couldn’t bear the heat the night before, she couldn’t understand my surprise that the room and shower room hadn’t been serviced. She made no attempt to appreciate the difficult circumstances the reason for staying. I asked for a refund of the second night’s stay and she claimed that it was too late as they would not be able to sell the rooms again as the housekeeper had left. As our rooms had been booked the evening before, I find that hard to accept. She begrudgingly phoned 3 taxi services for us and fortunately I had kept the card of Taxi Alix who came to our rescue and whisked us to the fantastic Ibis Manosque. The room was basic, but more concerning is the leak from the fridge which I could have slipped on during the night. The management need to do something about their front office’s attitude and I’m not surprised that the receptionist confirmed that not many people visiting the hospital stay there. I should point out that the care and facilities at Manosque hospital are incredible. The staff were so kind and helpful with non French speakers. The staff at Ibis Manosque were also incredibly kind and efficient. The big plus is the aircon and cleanliness, but more importantly the lovely staff. Unfortunately the Ibis is not within walking distance of the hospital but I can highly recommend Alix Taxi 06 07 65 28 47

Spent 2 nights at la bastide de l'adrech and it was a wonderful stay. I went as a mother/ daughter trip with a friend and her daughter. We ended up staying in the apartment that had a small private courtyard and jacuzzi. The villa was charming and we truly loved the grounds. There was a new pool that was not advertised when we booked the room which was a wonderful surprise. Our apartment had 1 bedroom, a pull out sofa bed in the living room and a kitchen. All the appliances looked brand new. The only downside was their was not a fully bathroom. The first bathroom had just a toliet with no sink. The second bathroom had a shower with a sink. They were on opposite ends of the apartment. Not a huge deal, and honestly some of the grievances you need to let go of for older homes that are being updated. The villa was also under construction- which did not bother us. We never really noticed any extra noise or had any issues. While I gave this place 5 stars you should realize this is a country experience so expect spiders and insects, no A/C etc. What you should expect is a beautiful villa in a field of sunflowers! Dinner was available at $27.50 pp and breakfast at 12.50 per person. We didn't partake and choice to take meals in our apartment. The owners were excellent. Very helpful and always around if we needed them. There were restaurants and groceries stores within 5 min drive. The famed Provence Lavender fields were 15-20 minute drive away and Aix Provence was perhaps an easy 35 minute drive. Additionally the L'occitane factory and museum is in the same town and was a fun detour to check out!

Hotel Le Pre Saint Michel was recommended to me by a workshop tour. The place of the hotel in proximity to the town is about a mile outside the historic district. The hotel is a newer building, set in a residential district. It's a nice, clean hotel. I arrived around 3:30 i the afternoon and I felt like I had interrupted the desk person. To make a long story short, the hotel shuts down during the afternoon, locking the doors and you need to have a passcode to get in. The room I had was on the main level with a lovely view of the pool and hills. While they called it a premium room, it was quite basic and small. I acknowledge there is a difference in size between American and European rooms. The mattress has seen better days and the pillows were not very comfortable. The room was kept neat for the most part. They staff failed to show up one day. On a different day, they left their dirty cleaning rags on the furniture. Yet another day, they failed to pick up the trash and left it on the bathroom sink. They also were inconsistent in leaving toiletries, toilet paper, etc. The front desk staff are mostly friendly. They do not speak english - save for one person whom I believe is the owner of the property. She's a bit older than the rest of the girls who work the desk and breakfast bar. In the beginning, she was quite helpful but I always felt like I was annoying her by asking a question. I used a google translator when she couldn't understand me. When I asked her if she could call a cab for me, she abruptly said I would not be able to get one and that cabs don't like to go to the hotel. She pointed to the corner and told me to take a bus. My experience with her was similar to other guests experiences. One guest asked if they could get some ice and the hotel staff were rude and abrupt, not providing any assistance for them. There was also issues with their rooms being cleaned correctly. Finally, one day the power went out and the code to enter the hotel was not working. I had to call three times and finally someone answered the door after they were quite upset I had to contact them to let me in. The breakfast bar was $12 every morning and consisted of yogurt, pastries, cheese, dry cereals, coffee and juice. There were many flies around the food which was not very enticing. Overall my experience was adequate. I certainly have stayed in better and worse places, but I don't believe I would stay there again based on 1) the rudeness of the staff (the owner, I believe), 2) their lack of responsiveness to help, 3) the fact that cabs won't go to the hotel. I can't give the hotel anything higher than an average rating. The restaurant in the lower part of the hotel is very good. It is NOT affiliated with the hotel.
