We booked The Mansion Boutique hotel in Bucharest for 3 nights arriving quite late on the Sunday night. On arrival we received a lovely glass of prosecco and show to our beautiful rooms. We had the Maroc room and my sister the Contemporary room. Both were lovely and spotlessly clean. Thd whole vibe of the hotel was great from the bar, restaurant and certainly the friendly and informative concierge staff. To top it all on my birthday I came back to the room to find a rose, ice bucket with prosecco and chocolates and we did not tell them it was my birthday. Hotel was perfectly located for all the sites couldn't recommend if more. Thanks guys.

Superb location right in the heart of old town in Bucharest. Room is large with space for luggage. Breakfast are good, the staff are excellent in their service, not only friendly but also assist us in liaise with local Uber driver for transfer due to the limited driveway. Back door leads to the entrance towards the old town while the main doors are meant to go towards the subway and transport via the main road. Highly recommended if you wish to stay right in the old town and spoilt for choices to various restaurants, pubs and shops for accessibility.

Besides staying in one of the most comfy and relaxing hotel rooms I have ever stayed, the location of the New Era Hotel is another aspect that would make me gladly come back again. It is placed right in the heart of the city, in the Old Town to be more exact. Unirii Park, Unirii Square, the Civic Center, the National History Museum of Romania, Unirea Shopping Center and the Jewish Quarter are just some of the many attractions you can find in the area. Also, very close to the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants, pubs, bars and coffee shops, more than enough to please any taste. Since I talked about taste, it is worth mentioning that their breakfast is amazing. I am not a morning eater at all, but my mouth was watery every morning when seeing all the home-made sweet and salty treats. I totally recommend this hotel and I will definitely come back when visiting Bucharest.

The studio rooms are situated a short walk from the Hotel Rembrandt in the old town. on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. There is no lift, so would not be suitable for anyone with limited mobility. However, if you are able to negotiate the stairs, you will be rewarded by very spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation. Each studio has a kitchenette with single induction hob, electric toaster, kettle and microwave. The distribution of crockery and cookware between the two adjacent studios we booked on the top floor was somewhat idiosyncratic. Crockery for 6 in one, but only a frying pan but no saucepan, no cups or mugs in the other, not much crockery but had a large saucepan! As we had both studios, it was no problem to share our facilities. Reception staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. I can thoroughly recommend the studio rooms. Good restaurants literally below and 2 minutes' walk away, close to a large Supermarket and handy for the metro and buses, including a bus to the airport. Very relaxing with a large sofa and dining table for 4, and if after a days' sightseeing if you don't feel like eating out, you can simply shop at the supermarket and eat in. There is some noise from the road and revellers at night, but the double glazed windows were very effective to shut any noise out, and air conditioning kept the room temperature at a comfortable level.

Please note that there is usually no one at the reception No, you will not even enter the hotel without the password. That is to say, how do we manage-as the experts said, the password has been sent, but no call was received, we had to check five times regularly, but we had never seen anyone, so we had to find another one hotel.

Firstly the hotel rang us the week before we were due to arrive and said they didn't have a room. Then rang back to say they did. We arrived a bit early as we had to drop a hire car off and the room was not ready which was fair enough. We then came back just before the 3pm check in time and had to wait over half an hour after that as they said that it was taking the cleaner a long time to clean because the previous occupants were very messy! Once we got in the room it was very clean and spacious. The decor is very different but interesting. The view from he outside area was stunning. The sofa bed was still a sofa so myself and my husband battled with the sofa to turn it into a bed. Once that was done there was no cover and we we asked reception and they said there wasn't one?? So they expected he children to sleep uncovered. We ended up using the top sheet from the main bed, this was Ok for them as he room was like a sauna! The breakfast was basic 1 type of cereal no eggs left and no fresh juice. The kitchen assistant was lovely and with some hand gestures she made us a lovely omelette. The guy on reception was friendly and got my husband a coffee as we waited but no organisation and other staff looked miserable and hard to figure out who worked there as they don't wear a uniform. A shame as the rooms are spacious and it is in a great location.

My company booked a room at this hotel for a business trip. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but I came to appreciate this place. It is a bit far from downtown, but considering I drove to Bucharest it was really nice to find a parking with plenty of space, guarded and free of charge (unlike most hotels in Bucharest). There is a cozy and friendly atmosphere. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the furniture in much better conditition than I was expecting from a 10yo hotel. Trust me, I've stayed in newer ones and it felt like they had second hand furniture! The hot water in the shower came immediatelly and it was an awsome feeling after the long days I had. Was also pleasently surprised by the restaurant, fresh and delicious food at decent prices, with great service from the waiters - Monica and a blonde lady who's name I sadly don't remember. As for the reception staff, I appreciate Maria's warm welcome and check-in and the patience to answer all my questions about the hotel and the surroundings. Glad for the review information card or it might have slipped my mind. I'll gladly return to this place when in Bucharest and will definitely recommend it!

I've had the opportunity to stay again at this hotel and I really enjoyed it (again)! The rooms are very spacious and the cleaning is always to the highest standards. I've loved it the first time around so I was very happy to rebook a few years later and see that it's still just as great. The staff is really nice and attentive to details and I had an overall fantastic experience. I do truly recommend this hotel and will pick it again when I go back to Bucharest!

To put it friendly, the hotel has an excellent location (walking distance to the old town) & very good breakfast, however, the interior is a bit old. The lift is a fragile vehicle, the hotel room interior looks as it if has been there for many years, the bed cover linen was too small that couldn’t fit two people. We've reserved one of their most expensive suites which, obviously, doesn't get to be occupied too often so they don't bother to verify if everything is working properly. The air conditioning wasn't working, just the fan, which is not so pleasant when the temperature outside is over 40 degrees Celsius. The tub in the bathroom was clogged which made it almost impossible to have a decent shower and, not to forget, the room is facing the street Calea Mosilor which is a busy street, with street cars running there all night. Considering the average price level in Bucharest the cost for this kind of room is ridiculous. Obviously the management feels the proximity to the nearby old town justifies all that. If I have the chance, next time I will look for a diferent place.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, and enjoyed most aspects of the hotel. The front desk staff was wonderful and friendly. The breakfast options were varied and plentiful, and the female attendant who made coffees and worked mornings was fantastic! Always smiling and friendly, and recommended some excellent teas for my wife and I to enjoy. There are only two reasons I deducted a star from this property. First and foremost, contrary to other reviewers or descriptions, this hotel is not city center by my standards. The main tourist attractions were roughly 20-35 minutes each way on foot. Secondly, the gentleman who served dinner at the restaurant was very cold and unfriendly. The only such incident of an off staff member. The owner was a pleasant man to speak with and meet as well.

First of all, the hotel is okay, but it is very small. Looking at the photo of the doorway, it looks like a square. As a result, a small road comes in, and there is a small round entrance. There is nothing near the hotel. The rooms are quite big, but they are very bad to see, they are all iron stairs, and the vision is not good. There is a sauna, but the facilities are more general. The hotel's restaurant heard that it was always good, ate, the waiter was very bad, and his eyes were impatient. The dessert was delicious. I ate the dessert for two days. The dishes were average. Nothing creative.

Everything was great :) The staff was very friendly, everything is brand new, stylish and clean. I chose this because of the location, which is very central, an area with lots of cafes and restaurants, so plenty to do after I finish my meetings. I travel a lot and I tend to switch between hotels and high-end airbnb apartments and I can say that the rooms are superior to what I've had at big chain hotels like DoubleTree Leeds or Marriott Warsaw or Corinthia Prague for example. Very comfortable beds, the pillows were amazing. It was great value for money, I will definitely stay there whenever in Bucharest.

The hotel has such a wonderful view of the city, especially when the sun goes down and the night it’s coming you will be amazed to see all the beauty of the city itself. Besides this fact, the staff was very kind and helpful, they even got involved helping me with the transport, they called for a secured cab and it was all great. I know Romania for quite long because I settled here with my business and I could say that this hotel provides all you need for a place to stay including their great Skybar. They also have great services and I totally recommend it to you. If you look for a hotel in the city center, with food and beverages already included, near all the facilities you need and surrounded by some really nice people who work here, well this is all you need and the best thing about it is that the hotel it’s a brand new one and it’s doing its best by far !

I really enjoyed my 2 night stay here. Very good hotel in a nice location, good food, service and comfortable room. The hotel is located a little way out of the centre in sector 1. But thats a real benefit, its quieter, more interesting and has good access to the metro and uber in any case. I paid 40leu each way for the taxi to the airport. There are plenty around. The area near the hotel hosts embassies and quiet boulevards. If you want somewhere to stroll out of the heat, and smell the lime trees and roses and admire the architecture you are in the right place. If you want to get to the Old Town, its a 20-30 minute walk, quicker on the metro. Plenty of bistros, cafes and restaurants nearby. Hotel itself is a boutique, has reception manned 24 hours, lifts that work and nothing is too much trouble. Aircon works even when you are out so the room is nicely chilled when you get back in. Good sized room with windows on 3 sides, quiet day and night, everything works, clean and tidy and a comfortable bed. Bathroom could me a little more practical, big basin but you cant actually put anything on it. Good shower. Breakfast was excellent, good buffet, eggs cooked to order and everything comes quickly. Staff were friendly, helpful and smiling which made this a hotel where you were welcomed, and felt you could ask for anything. Overall a good hotel with personality. I'd certainly stay here again; a much nicer experience than the big brand hotels down the road.

Would recommend not catching late night/early morning flights when staying at this property. If you do, make sure they have actually sent you an email before you travel. Would like to prevent anyone else having the same start to their holiday as we did! Our flight arrived in Bucharest at 2.55am. Prior to travelling I had followed all instructions regarding late check in (emailed property and phoned them) was told that we would receive an email with a code for self check in and that there would be night staff at the property. When we arrived we had no email and there were no staff at the property, another guest informed us that they had stopped night staff the night before we arrived. We were stuck outside with nowhere to go in the pouring rain 3am-11am when we had to book another hotel after hours of trying to contact anyone who could help us get into the rooms so we could get some sleep for a few hours. When we went back to check in the man at reception was adamant he had sent the email and wanted to show us to prove it wasn’t his fault, but after a few minutes of looking he quickly changed the subject and showed us to our rooms! Information on check in times is very unclear, have seen at least 2 different websites with different times both different to what is displayed at the property. Once we actually got into the rooms, no complaints. Nice rooms, clean and spacious. Excellent location, short walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants/bars and public transport.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in a one bedroom apartment on the 7th floor! Bedroom was spacious but without a TV. There is a spacious sitting room with a TV and a sofa and a spacious kitchen. Furniture are new and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had a weird smell and there was black mould on the shower tiles (disappointment for such a clean apartment)! Apartment overall is good and no noise at all! Downstairs restaurant has a very nice menu and a very good breakfast. Had dinner twice - we recommend the cheeseburger with garlic and Parmesan potatoes / prawns / chicken soup / dessert of the day ! Now the cons!! Reception Staff needs to be trained to standards of a 4* hotel!!! We requested for reception to book us a full day tour with the company they advertise they work with to Transylvania and it’s castles on a Saturday evening for a Monday morning - 7:15am to be picked up from the hotel. They made us sign a document which stated that in case we cancel 12 hours prior to tour we had to pay 50% of the price and we said ok! On Sunday evening - around 11pm when we were entering the hotel the receptionist told us that tomorrow’s tour was cancelled and that they were sorry! We asked why weren’t we informed about it a lot sooner in order for us to arrange something else ??? The receptionist’s answer was - we tried calling your room a few times and you didn’t answer!!! Seriously?!?!?!?! I asked - why didn’t you call us on our cell phones ?!?! Do you expect your guests to be in their rooms all day long ?!?!?! Are these the standards of a 4* hotel??!!? You tell us the tour is cancelled 8 hours before the trip?!?!? Answer of the receptionist was - Sorry !!! Very Very Unprofessional and Disappointing!!!!

My experience mirrors the other reviews -- good and bad/ugly. I booked three nights. The Good? The location is excellent. The building is charming. The room (#1) was a good size. It is on the main floor and noise travels; I sleep easily but it would bother many people. The lobby/bar/den was comfortable for reading. The breakfast area was large, fine settings and the food was well-displayed and plentiful, hot and cold. The service was good. The bad and the ugly? Car service from the airport was to be paid to the hotel. The service was very good but had to be paid directly. I arrived at 1:30pm. The hotel clerk (very curt) did not know I had to pay for the service. I was told that no room could be ready before 3pm. To come back. Where could I go? No suggestion. Could I leave my luggage? Yes. I wandered out and came back at 3. I sent out my laundry (had been travelling from a carry-on for two weeks) on Thursday at 3:30. It was picked up. It did not return on Friday as promised. It came back on Saturday. It included someone else's clothes with all of mine. I returned to my room at 6:30 on Saturday to find it had not been cleaned and made up. When I pointed this out I was told that the cleaner did not come to work. Apparently no one else could make a bed or change the sheets. I asked for a few clean towels. Like so many other places it is all staff, staff, staff. Are they trained? do they have a customer-service orientation? Positive attitude? Can-do approach? I hit the wrong days and the wrong people apparently.
