The hotel was clean and tidy , and room was adequate for our stay , bed was very comfortable . The staff were very friendly and helpful ,in reception and dining room .The Breakfast was a buffet selection ,self service , with Tea or Coffee, good selection to choose from .The dinner menu was also good ,with a choice of Starters ,Mains & Desserts ,all good wholesome food of a pub type menu. After a day out ,went for a drink in the Ossett Head Bar in the hotel grounds , nice pleasant ambient setting , this was the only time , it never opened again for the duration of our stay. The only other bar is in the dining room , and this was only open , during meal times , no soft furnishings , only dining tables . dont know if you could take drinks from there , into the guest lounge ,never informed. Plentiful supply of Tea & Coffee in room ,which you had to replenish from reception . i am now Tea Total & Alcohol Free after this mini vacation .

This hotel is opened by two old people. The people are very kind. Because the train is late, we have exceeded the prescribed time. They also kept it for us. The breakfast at the store is also very good. Because the first day is late, we still want to Continue to live, but the store is full, the elderly let us go to the visitor center to help, then we lived in a hotel on the lakeside, thank you for the warm hospitality of the two old people, will have the opportunity to live in the future

Having been let down at the last minute by another hotel, we were very lucky to be able to secure rooms at the Station Lodge in Windermere. The rooms were very clean and modern. It is based right in the heart of Windermere, close to the train station and bus stop, with lovely walks and amazing views close by. Liam was extremely helpful and gave us plenty of tourist information. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend!

The hotel is situated 2 mins walk from the bus interchange, train station and the town centre with restaurants, bars etc, meaning we didn't have to use the car at all. Room 1 was fine apart from the toilet doing mini flushes every 7 mins, 2 lights out in the bathroom and the blind didn't block out the light from the street light outside the hotel (did mention these minor things to James) and this certainly wouldn't stop us from staying here again. The breakfast was fantastic and we enjoyed this every morning. The lady who served it (sorry didn't get her name, but she is an ex-nurse) was lovely, always had a smile and nothing was too much bother. We only had one evening meal here, but this too was really good.

I especially recommend this hotel, a old English villa, which is newly renovated and British style. It is very clean and full of toiletries. It is 3 minutes away from the town by car. The room can see part of the lake view and the surrounding environment. Very good, I especially like their afternoon tea, the tea set is very exquisite, and I look at it with great care! Part of the breakfast is buffet, and the main meal is à la carte, with a large portion and enough to eat! If you have children staying with you, you must tell the hotel in advance that the children need to charge a fee of £28.50/piece/night! This fee includes breakfast and extra bed. If it is not stated in advance, the fee will still be charged, but there will be no extra bed! Expresso capsule coffee is provided free of charge in the room, which is my favorite. Those who like coffee are very surprised!

What a perfect weekend we’ve just had in The Lakes. We stayed two nights at 1 Park Road and can not fault it. The room was beautiful, the whole place was immaculate, breakfasts were delicious, and Hilton was a lovely host with meticulous attention to detail. The hotel is superbly located just a five minute walk into the heart of Windermere village, 15minutes to Bowness, 20 minutes to the Lake. We will definitely stay here again.

Myself and my mum had a wonderful one night stay here. Simona made us feel very welcome from the first phone call for booking, which I recommend doing directly, to arriving and for the duration of the stay. The building is stunning, the stained glass windows and beautiful architecture kept in the period in which it should be. The room was beautiful and spotless, the beds are really comfy. There was a range of hot drinks and biscuits and ice cold water in the room. The shower products are beautiful, they smell divine ! The shower was lovely. Amazing continental breakfast, a range of cereals and fruit and yogurt plus toast. We requested twin beds downstairs which was all catered for. Perfect spot for Bowness and Windermere town, you can walk, about 15/20 minutes to Bowness or there is a bus down as well, 5 minutes into town where there are lots of eating places and shops etc. Made to feel so very welcome, Simon’s is really interesting lady so do stop to chat if she has time, would absolutely recommend staying here, they make you feel like friends not customers. I have already recommended to friends and family. Thank you so much.

We have stayed here many times over a number of years and is always our first choice for the lakes. Jonathan and Caroline are great hosts and always make us feel so welcome and at home when we arrive until the (unfortunate) moment that we leave. Rooms, lounges, facilities and breakfast all excellent. The ethos of making the hotel as green as possible while supporting conservation and promoting local businesses is also very welcome. Also, the afternoon teas are fantastic and well worth the experience or two!!

Travelled with my partner for a 2 night stay in Windermere - stayed in room 7 ground floor. Perfectly placed, close to the lake with plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants around. Easy to get to and no problem parking. Codes to enter the house and rooms are sent by Latimer House - quick, easy and convenient to use. The heating is on a timer, which is understandable for the size of the house. We found the temp ok in our room. Would recommend to bring pjs/dressing gown if you tend to get chilly. Room was spacious with a large bed, 2 large chairs and table to sit and relax. Plenty of tea/coffee with a kettle in the room to make your own which was handy. Double doors which led out to a generous space with a nice relaxed view, chairs and table were there to use - it rained a lot during our stay so didn't get a chance to use them but would've been lovely to pop outside if the weather was a bit nicer. Bathroom was modern, and shower was fine. Heater in the bathroom to warm towels. Bath sheets and hand towels on the bed on arrival. One point which was not really an issue - eyelashes were left on the table next to the bed. Assuming from previous guests - popped them in the bin. Curtains could do with being washed/replaced - slightly grubby around the doors/windows but I think this would be due to the age of the house rather than house keeping not being up to scratch. Our score reflects this. Overall, we would definitely stay again. Perfect location, not badly priced, good size rooms and a great break in Windemere. x

Pamela and her team made us feel very welcome. The room we stayed in (14) was lovely, a huge bath, separate shower. The attention to detail in the room was so lovely. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Water in the fridge and even wine glasses! The l’octaine products in the bathroom were a lovely touch. Immaculately clean. Bathrobes for your stay. Breakfast in the morning was superb, a great choice and nothing was too much trouble. This is a hotel run by an old couple. The grandpa has a very good attitude. He also helped us bring us to check in and introduce the facilities of the room. The location of the hotel is very good, a few minutes walk to the lake, supermarkets, small shops and restaurants . A parking ticket will be given to you to park in the parking lot diagonally opposite. Breakfast is also provided with a breakfast list for you to check on your own, and put it at the front desk the night before. The room is a bit small. Especially the bathroom, very small. The shower water is very hot and it can't be adjusted well! Arrived at night, plus it was raining again, I didn't find it at first, and then I went around twice and found it according to the navigation and the exterior pictures of the hotel!

Visited with wife for weekend break. First class service from moment you arrive at gatehouse. All staff attentive, polite and easy to have a conversation with. This starts with concierge, moves on to reception and on to bar, pub, restaurant and spa. Room was decent size - do not need massive room as will not spend much time in here. Nicely decorated, clean and well attended. We had room with hot tub on balcony which was great. Had food in hotel bar, in pub attached to spa and In restaurant. All excellent. Bar staff great with good choice of drinks and cocktails. Perhaps stock some gluten free bottled beer in future! Apart from that catered for my gluten intolerance very well and on second visit to restaurant they remembered this and had gluten free canopies for me. Only negative for me was daily car park charge because I didn’t book direct but I know for future. Well worth a visit.

I booked a room for 3 people, on the top floor, the room size is okay, there is room for luggage. The facilities are new and the mattresses are comfortable. The landlord is very enthusiastic, and my son chatted with him very happily. I must give him a good comment. Breakfast is also very good, with a set of bread, bacon, omelette per person, yogurt and fruit buffet. The hotel is located in the middle of the railway station and the pier, and there is a 599 bus stop at the door. When I arrived, I felt that it was a long way from the train station, but after getting familiar with it, I thought it was okay.

The Cranleigh is a lovely hotel just a short distance from the lake , cafe's , bars and shops . It sits just behind the Belfield hotel and is very friendly . The breakfast selection is excellent and very tasty. The public areas are beautifully designed and decorated however we felt our room ( superior room 7 ) was a little dated and would benefit from a refresh . The room is on the small side and only has a standard double bed which we felt a bit of a squeeze as we are used to a superking bed at home . However the room was well equipped , shame the bathroom TV didn't work , the maintenance team did take a look at it but were unable to fix it despite it being less than a week old , We would definitely recommend The Cranleigh Boutique hotel but would request a king-size bed

What a beautiful gem of a place Paula and Richard have here . From the moment we walked through the door we were met by Paula who gave us a lovely welcome . We had a beautiful 4 poster room with a lovely bathroom with bath and shower . Everything was immaculately clean and the bed was so comfortable ! Breakfast was delicious and a lovely choice to choose from and Paula as a host really sells the place . It’s only a 10 minute walk into Windemere and Bowness ( we preferred Bowness ) and so much choice of cafes , restaurants and bars. We visited Grasmere ( find the gingerbread shop ) , Ambleside and Windemere . Then on our second day took a very wet and windy walk to Lake Buttermere which was stunning . We had a delicious Indian in Bowness and ate in numerous coffee shops and tea rooms ! Absolutely value for money ! Thank you Amanda &Jonny

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and welcomed. We had drinks in the lounge area and veranda enjoying the spectacular views. The staff were all dressed smartly, and I got the impression they all loved working there. I had booked for my wife’s birthday and had also booked a table in the Henrock restaurant inside the hotel. The food was amazing, delicious and perfectly presented and served. Each delicious course was the lead up to the most amazing dessert I have ever eaten, and it was a rhubarb based dessert, which under normal circumstances is a contradiction where desserts are concerned normally, however this was an explosion of delicious tastes and textures. Would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant and we both hope to return, sooner rather than later.

This is a family hotel, I didn't notice it when I booked it. The room was clean and it was a 15-minute walk from the ferry in the town. The landlord had a lot of rules: for example, you can't bring food from the restaurant back to the room, put your shoes on the tray, check out at 10 o'clock, and you can't store your bag after checking out.

We spent two nights at this fantastic hotel. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming to make your stay happy and comfortable. Paul serving drinks in bar very friendly with everyone. 👍 Occasion Room 12 in main building, exceptionally clean with gorgeous views. The king size bed and pillows were too firm for us and we had to request softer pillows. Shower gel was not replenished and also asked for this. Reception were happy to fulfil requests. Delicious food at each meal and fulfil any special requests. The terrace is very peaceful overlooking beautiful views. Tips …. Ask not to be placed in annexe as this is a solitary detached house adjacent with a walkway. Drinks are extremely expensive so keep a tab but they expensive throughout most of Windermere. If you have poor mobility, there is a steep walk up the driveway so you may have to use your car. We highly recommend this hotel for a short break and we were extremely lucky to have superb weather. There is a pool, but there is no pool. The front desk service is not good, I feel that I am too lazy to take care of you, and seeing the child will force the extra bed to charge 35 fat one night, a bit arrogant. The room attendant was very nice and the waiter in the restaurant was very good.

This hotel is great. The location is very convenient, just a minute walk from the train station. The surrounding environment is very quiet, living on the second floor, the front of the large green lawn, the scenery is beautiful, surrounded by villas with good views. It is not far to the scenic spot. It takes 20 minutes to walk to the pier. You can go by boat and take a small train. I will bring friends to live in the future.

The only other bar is in the dining room , and this was only open , during meal times , no soft furnishings , only dining tables . dont know if you could take drinks from there , into the guest lounge ,never informed. Plentiful supply of Tea & Coffee in room ,which you had to replenish from reception . i am now Tea Total & Alcohol Free after this mini vacation .

Very cozy little hotel, run by a Chinese couple, very friendly and welcoming. I studied here, came here for a holiday, and settled on this hotel. Although I feel that the house is more chronological, the real number is very well preserved, the decoration is exquisite, clean and tidy, and the details are great. It is only 5 minutes walk from the train station. The town is not big. It is also very convenient to go to other towns on foot or by bus. I booked a single room, the decoration made people feel comfortable and warm, and the hygiene was great. I must call for breakfast. I have been in the UK for a month. This is the best meal I have ever moved. Overall highly recommended

We stayed at Elim Bank for 3 nights. Great location to base yourself to explore Windermere and the surrounding area. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Car park at the back of the building. The guest house is homely and the rooms were clean and spacious, cannot fault it. Continental breakfast was plentiful. The location is perfect, few minutes walk to local restaurants, shops and Bowness pier, to catch boats to explore Windermere. Highly recommend.

We decided to get married, a small wedding with just 8 family members, Haisthorpe House accommodated us all quite easily. A very affordable stay, exceptionally clean and sanitised covid friendly guest house located perfectly in Windermere, 2 minutes walk to the restaurants, pubs and local amenities. What a charming house, every room has luxurious quality, from cosy mattresses that help you get your best night's sleep, lovely bathrooms and towels, elegant furnishings that all came together to make you feel very relaxed, and comfortable, the photos don't do justice to such a gorgeous house, we just loved everything, an excellent stay with the perfect hosts. Tim and Cathy are so very kind and welcoming, they went above and beyond to make our stay and Our Wedding Day just wonderful, from turning the breakfast room into a place for us to make our wedding bouquets, then the next day decorating the room with flowers and white tablecloths making it look and feel so elegant, and hosting a wedding breakfast for us all. Cathy makes the most delicious Lemon drizzle cake filled with Tim’s wonderful homemade damson jam, truly scrumptious, with drinks and music topped off with their warm and friendly demeanour, they made our whole family feel at home, like we were family with their warm heart and sincerity, we are so very indebted to them for opening their home and their hearts that made our simple wedding a truly beautiful day. Thank you so much. Anyone who wants a small cosy wedding should absolutely arrange your stay here.
