On my return trip through Spain to France I decided to stop ovenight in Burgos, and although I usually stay at Palacio de Burgos, due to a not great experience I decided to try the Silken. My room was upgraded with a lovely view of the river, comfortable bed and great A.C.. Very modern, spotlessly clean, that and the secure parking made it perfect. A hotel rises and falls on it’s staff, and this was never more true than here. Porters seem to be rare nowadays, but I was lucky in finding Laura at reception. She helped me with my extensive luggage, both arriving and leaving, and was , in every way, both charming and helpful. She would be an asset to any hotel. Many women find traveling alone challenging, but it is the staff that makes the difference. I will certainly return

Stayed here one night after two weeks on the Camino - it certainly hit the right notes! A clean and comfortable boutique hotel in a very central location - the bathroom, although small, had a amazing shower and the beds were so comfortable. We didn't have breakfast but there looked to be a nice choice on offer. Would happily stay here again.

After walking on the camino de Santiago for a couple of days and staying in noisy hotels, this is definitely the best place to stay at! It is quiet, clean and relaxing! There is a carpet on the floor, so you do not hear the frantic jumping of unattended kids in the hallway. The location: If you are a pilgrim and have been walking from Atapuerca, as you enter the city, you have to walk for a couple of kilometres to reach the hotel. Just keep walking straight along the same street, at some point you have to turn right. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town, not far from the huge cathedral. it is also close to the bus station, only 10 minutes walk. There are cafes and restaurants around, so you won¨t stay hungry. There is a supermarket nearby too, it takes maybe 15 minutes, and you can still find that couscous that works well for vegans. It is a bit difficult to find, but the staff at the hotel and the locals have been helpful. The room The bed was comfortable, nice to sleep in it. There was a bench for the luggage. There were to lights next to the bed, toiletries in the bathroom. The bathroom OMG, the bathroom was an experience! It had a very complicated nipple-looking system for turning the shower on, and on the same rack it was mounted something that was supposed to be a bidet. Until I found the right buttons, the whole bathroom got wet, along with the towels, and no matter how environmentally-friendly I wanted to be - it did not work, I still had to have my towels changed. The staff: The staff was friendly and helpful, with everything, all the questions that i had. It was open 24hours. Other It is possible to get only coffee for breakfast, instead having the whole breakfast. One could use the stairs, instead of the elevator. All in all, it is worth the money. Good job! :) Things to improve It could do with more light, like some shining from the ceiling. Its difficult to pack a suitcase, I had to place it on the table. Unmarked stairs to the first floor. It would be difficult to be environmentally-friendly with that shower system that you have put in use. You can imagine that it takes some time to learn to use it, and first-time users are bound to get the whole bathroom wet. There was something wrong with the TV, on certain channels there was this loud few sentence outbirst - which was, I guess for people with hearing problems, maybe? I could not figure it out.

We were travelling back to the ferry in Santander and decided to stop the night in Burgos because it looked such a facinating place. The Hotel Alda Cardena looked nothing from the outside; it had a narrow, unprepossessing entrance but how surprising it was on the inside. We had a lovely, spacious room, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. There was a continental breakfast available, which was very good indeed but the best aspect of the experience was the service we received! The gentleman receptionist, who checked us in was absolutely excellent: he spent quite some time explaining the best places to go to in the centre and traced the route for us on a tourist map. Next morning, we had a lady receptionist, who was also very pleasant and helpful. This is definitely a place we will go back to!

Only a five minute trip north of town. Large spread out hotel. I arrived at 9.30am and was advised check in is from 2pm.(hotel policy) which I totally understand and accept. They looked after my suitcase for me. I ended up checking in at 1pm. My twin delux room was modern, large with polished flooring (which can be slippery) and polished timber furniture (vanity table, chair, shelving unit, with hangers,table/2 chairs etc). Aircon was fairly quiet and worked well as did the TV and fridge. The bathroom was tiled floor to ceiling. The shower was a separate enclosed unit. Hot water was good as was the water pressure.. The one thing that surprised me, given the room rates, soap and shampoo sachets were provided but no toothbrush/paste. Something many cheaper hotels/guest houses provide. The restaurant has a comprehensive menu. The staff attentive and well trained. I tried the spaghetti carbonara which was a big serving but I doubt the chef has ever been shown how to make it. The veggie spring rolls were good, all 8 of them. Even though my Agoda booking did not include breakfast, reception phoned me and offered me complimentary breakfast which I was appreciative. The reception staff were also well trained. The pool is very large and clean which was great as the beach was far from inviting with trash scattered everywhere. There was even a lifeguard watching over the young ones in the kiddies pool. I experienced a few power failures but they were usually only for a few seconds. My phone data was occasionally slow. Overall, this hotel is certainly pricier but you get what you pay for, that is, a clean, comfortable room, everything works well, comfortable facilities and impeccable customer service. If you can afford it, enjoy that luxury feeling.

Beautiful rooms, fabulous location (inside the old city walls, and right ON the Camino de Santiago) and near many restaurants and cafés, a very short walk to the Burgos Cathedral. Room sizes vary, probably because it has been converted from residences. Our room was wonderful and quite large for 85 Euros. Breakfast buffet was the best I saw in two weeks of traveling along this Camino route. Very helpful concierge. An excellent place to base out of to explore even as far away as rioja country. One Friday night there was loud revelry in the street below, but closing the floor-to-ceiling windows blocked out all sound. Highly recommend!

This hotel is so close to the cathedral that you almost don’t have to get out of bed to go to “Mass”. Really, I mean that. The Cathedral in all its glory is almost next door. You are just also just minute from Plaza Mayor. Heck, you are close to pretty much everything. So if the location of where you are staying is high on your list then look no further. We good the highest room in the hotel. Pretty much up close to the cathedral bells however it had an advantage in that it was very private and quiet except for the bells which did sound extremely nice. The room was a little odd in that it didn’t have any windows but had three skylights to try to make up for no windows. Luckily for us it also had electric blinds on the skylights so that you could shut out the bright sun when needed. The room was clean and after getting used to the lack of windows actually worked OK for us. We didn’t spend much time in the room. The price was high because we were here at the start of Easter Week when prices rocket. At other times the price is likely quite good from what I could tell. Because of this ideal location we found that we got to see everything in Burgos quite quickly then we could just spend time in the various plaza’s just soaking up the atmosphere and the sights. Our favourite plaza was in front of the cathedral. We just couldn’t get enough of how majestic it all looked.

I am walking the Camino de Santiago (Frances) with my friend. We stayed in a private apartment on the 5th floor with 2 bedrooms and a private bathroom and kitchen for 1 night on Oct 2. The beds were very comfortable and we had one of the best sleeps of our trip so far. It was very homey after many nights spent in shared dormitories with shared bathrooms. My friend snores - as do many pilgrims in the shared dorms - and it was nice to have my own room. I had a peaceful, blissful sleep for the second time in 16 days. The apartment is filled with light, thanks to 3 skylights, and the full moon shone through the skylight in my room all night - it was magical. Just a few minutes walk from the cathedral, right in centro historico, a few steps from the plaza mayor. There is a great tapas bar on site at street level and we were able to make breakfast in our apartment before we left for the Camino the next morning. I highly recommend this wonderful albergue. This felt like an apartment I could happily live in! A worthwhile splurge.

Very quick at reception with the impressive technology to electronically scanning passports and giving keys. As you go inside the corridors are really narrow. And if you are claustrophobic it can be difficult. It is an old one and old concept in rooms. Spacious enough with a mini bar and facilities. The air cooler and its sound can be bit annoying at the beginning but will get used to it. Nice dining area. Very generous meal. The spaghetti carbonara was delicious and sumptuous. Followed by nice chicken. All big portions and goes with nice chilled red or white as the temperatures were up. Actually there was no space for dessert but just the custard cream as dessert was a but disappointing. Probably because we had it enough back home and which usually go with something else. The breakfast was delicious and sumptuous. Thank you.

We didn’t choose Burgos for tourism - it was a night time stop between saint malo and Peniche. It didn’t look much from the outside and the area is industrial. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms, although basic, were comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful - the perfect remedy after a ten hour drive. The food was basic but very tasty and healthy.

Stunning hotel in reconstructed medieval style with rebuilt tower. Stayed in an excellent suite in the tower. Suite was superb and bed very comfortable. Excellent bathroom. The place was quiet (despite a nearby and very convenient motorway). The dining room was excellent with a great menu and the breakfast area was also very nice. The whole place had a wonderful ambience and the gothic styled swimming pool was a great place to relax after a few hours in nearby Burgos - a nice historic town (where El Cid lived) that is well worth seeing. It is only a few minutes away and the hotel can arrange taxis. Hotel has its own secure underground car park. Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. I would absolutely stay in this hotel again - without hesitation!

We stayed one night on our trip back to Sweden from Nerja, Spain. This was in corona-times so the restaurant was closed but they offered free coffe/tea and water. Unfortunatly everything else at the hotel was closed, too, because of that corona-virus and demands from the government in Spain. But the hotelroom was perfect! A big room on the groundfloor with own access to a small garden. The staff were also very kind and helpful. Perfect areas outside the hotel for the dogs, even though we just could take a short stroll due to regulations in this pandemi.

This hotel is located very well, the opposite room is very poorly soundproofed, it ignores the main street and all sounds can be heard, the hotel is 4*, very neglected, the whole hotel now needs reform, maintenance leaves many shortcomings, air conditioning breaks out On the first day, throwing water on the floor, the solution, in case our feet slipped and the air was damaged, so to me, it was as if it were 2* towels on the hotel floor, I will not repeat.

We stayed here for one night as we travelled from Portugal to France. The front desk staff on arrival and in the morning were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to assist us with special requests. We arrived very tired and hungry and because the restaurant was not open we asked the front desk staff to translate and call in an order we wanted to place for a pizza delivery. Without hesitation it was done with a smile. We stayed in a suite that we thought was priced well for the amenities and comfort of the room. The bed was comfortable and we got a good night's rest. We highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to go back when in Burgos.
