Okay, I didn't read ALL the reviews about this place i had already booked for a week June 16th to the 20th. When i arrived at the hotel i was shocked. The neighborhood was far from what i was expecting. Now mind you, I live in a very nice Florida neighborhood. quiet, clam, safe. i grew up in the Bronx, but that was 20 years ago. As I carried my bags up the flight of stairs to our rooms, i was mad at myself. When I looked out the window to my room, i was frightened. I called my travel agent and begged her to get me out of this hotel, that i was terrified for me and my teenage daughters. I took to the internet myself to find another hotel i was going to check into that very night. It was far too late for that. the cheapest i could get was 600.00 PER NIGHT!!! Ok, i was stuck here. I told myself i was to go outside during the day and be back at the hotel before sunset. Now fast forward 5 days and i didn't want to leave!!!. The neighborhood, I'll admit is going through a transition. 1 block one way is really terrible, BUT!!! a FIVE MINUTE WALK AND I WAS WATCHING STEVIE VAN ZANT FROM BRUCE SPRINGSTEENS E-STREET BAND PLAYING AT A LOCAL JOINT. You will have to look and learn and you will learn, like all neighborhoods in LA and New York, you have to do your homework. A couple of things don't make it a 5 star hotel....The WIFI is not all it should be and There are no elevators (lifts). The staff is really great and it comes with free breakfast, the best croissants in Paris!!! The rooms are all redone, but the lack of closet space is bad, really bad. But for the price, it is worth my 4 star review. If you want all the bells and whistles of a 5 star resort, 2 things you need to know....BOOK EARLY AND OPEN YOUR WALLETS!!!

The hotel was ok-ish, in a need of refurbishing I believe...Nice touch with complimentary tea and coffee at the reception and very friendly staff. The area however is horrible, I know it has nothing to do with the hotel but just walking down the street as a woman you get harrassed by random men. Avoid Barges-Rouchechouart metro station at all costs as it is a corner full of “hustlers”. Oh! Keep your hands and your eyes on your belongings at all times as someone has tried to take my phone from my pocket! Thank God for pockets with hidden zippers 😳

I stayed in the Playce hotel for more than 5 months and the service has been just perfect since day 1. - The personal is friendly with a daily good vibes. - The location is just perfect to discover Paris and specially the streets around Sacrée Coeur (Montmartre). - The metro is at 2 min by walking and serve all the key touristic spots. - The most interesting point is that too many supermarkets and restaurants in the neighborhood which allows me everyday to taste a plate from a new country. I could just recommend this hotel for the people who wants to stay in Paris for a while either for professional or personal reasons :)

I shall start with the positives . Apartment is very close to Sacre Couer and about 10 minutes away from Gare du Nord. Bathroom nicely decorated and had a heated towel rail . Quiet apartment even though on a busy street. The downside was the ceiling in the kitchen area was flaking badly they had obviously had a leak at some point. The bedroom had holes in the wall and the blinds didn't work properly . No bedding was left for the sofa bed even though we had informed them that as we were sisters we wanted to sleep separately. Think the apartment is slightly overpriced and didn't have a way to contact owner. If the decoration problems were sorted then this would be a lot better

Hôtel Montmartre was amazing and I'm so glad I chose this hotel for my 2-night stay in Paris. The location was wonderful, only a 12 minute walk (or 10 min metro ride) from Paris Gare du Nord, and right on the outskirts of Montmartre--one of the most beautiful areas of the city. The property was easy to locate and the area felt safe and clean. The reception staff were very nice, and my room was available before the check-in time. They really made sure the property was safeguarded too, as you needed two codes to get through to the room bit of the hotel, and then a keycard to get into your actual room. The room itself was great! Not overly large, but definitely enough space for me--especially because the bathroom was spacious and clean and so nice! And they had a full kitchen in the room too! A stove, pots and pans, cutlery, a sink, microwave, fridge and much more! It was fantastic, really really wonderful to be able to cook and store food. For the size of the room they really packed in every amenity you could want. The room was warm and toasty and the shower pressure was great. Everything was clean and nice and I'm so glad I stayed here. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My partner and I booked this hotel for our short holiday to Paris. We arrived and from our walk to the hotel from the metro station what we saw was dirty and not inviting at all. There was rubbish all over the streets. We arrived at the hotel and had one hour to wait until check in which was fine. I went to use the toilet in the breakfast area, I nearly had to straddle the toilet to get in, there was no toilet paper, no soap and no towel which is not up to even basic standards. What we saw of the breakfast area was dirty and it was dark and small. The area to eat breakfast was again small (about 3 tables for everyone). We were told when booking that there would be somewhere to securely put our luggage before check in and after check out. The secure location was in the corner of the communal seating area (also the 3 tables of the breakfast seating area) so anyone could access our luggage and take from our bags. Although we were not very comfortable with this and did not feel welcomed by the external environment we decided to go get baguettes and eat them in the local park. We walked through the park which had security guards throughout and again felt very unwelcome as we were being watched. We walked through the park and decided to sit in the children’s play area as this felt the safest for us to eat. When we sat down we could smell someone smoking weed the other side of the fence. The security guard then asked us to leave the child’s area as it is not for people without children. Which did not help the situation. For anyone on holiday this environment was not nice particularly in the winter months where it is dark much of the time. We left the park and told the hotel we did not want to stay at the hotel and had booked another. We had to book one hotel for that night and another one for the next 3. We had to spend much of our holiday running around Paris with suitcases. We were told by the receptionist that the manager would be back in an hour who could deal with our complaint and give a refund. I was told to email with a list of my issues and return to discuss with the manager. I did so but advised we would not be returning to waste any more of our trip and time. I received a response the next day stating that the external environment was not their responsibility and ignoring all of my previous issues identified and that was that. I immediately replied explaining all of the above and I have sent a follow up email as I am yet to receive a response to my email over a week ago!!! Do not visit this hotel. Everything was so awful we refused to even see the room and we have now spent over £400 in hotels and the £230 we paid is being refused to be refunded even though we have not used ANY of the services or products or even seen our room!

We loved our stay here, we stayed in one of the smaller rooms, which was rather tiny but there was still enough room to walk around the bed and store a suitcase. The toilet was its own little room and very small but not impossible. All of the staff were lovely to speak with and very helpful. We chose not to have breakfast in the hotel, instead we bought juice and brioche at a local supermarket. Carrefour Supermarket Clignancourt is close to the hotel, it’s big and you can get everything you need for very cheap. The hotel is so close to the Sacre Coeur and it’s a fantastic view to go up of an evening and watch the sun set. We walked down through the park at around 6pm which we wouldn’t do again, there were groups of men congregating around and we didn’t feel safe walking past them, the main steps up the centre of the park were fine and just full of tourists. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, it’s a great location and you get to see a different part of Paris away from the main tourist sections. It is very hilly so beware if you’re not a fan! The hotel is up a hill but near the bottom so it can be fun with a suitcase!

I maybe shouldn't be saying this, in case there's no rooms left next time I want an affordable, clean & efficient, perfectly-situated hotel in Paris, but - I have been staying in hotels in Paris for the last thirty years, & sadly the hotels of character that used to balance economic affordability with a concern for quality aren't as plentiful as they used to be. The facilities are efficiently clean & effective, not lavish but the coffee in the rooms is very drinkable, soap, shampoo & towels plentiful, all the staff are friendly & helpful, & the location is just so perfect for Montmartre & access to the centre of Paris. Amateur tourists - stick to Euro-Disney. But if you are going to Paris, to be in Paris, this is a great hotel to stay in.

Incredible location right at the foot of the butte de Montmartre. The little terrace on the 1st floor looks right up onto the Sacré Coeur. Le Village had very clean and warm rooms, a welcoming lobby and tables to sit at, and a really beautiful porch that I imagine is pretty sweet during the summertime. The guests were all very respectful and there were a range of groups of friends, solo travelers, and families (I didn't see any small children). Not a party hostel per se, but a great place to relax and mingle with other travelers.

From my own experience, this hotel is great if you book a studio ( bigger room) ask for studio nmbr 22 at 2nd floor. I enjoyed my 4 nights stay there as the location is perfect near restaurants shops and most importantly the train station called Gare du Nord in french ( Northern Station). Checkin was fast, was worried when I read few reviews before making my booking. The bathroom is great no issue with water, heater or whatsoever. I only disliked the bed is two beds together which makes a gape in between.the lift is small like a long box can only fit 2 persons and 1 small bag, if more than 2 people must go up separately, the breakfast is good and enough if you want to save money of going out, Reception staff are kind Alejandro, Monia and Jamal.. Have also space for reading some books and playing for kids. If I decide to go paris again, Avalon will be my home.

We’ve just checked out of 114 and really enjoyed our stay with you guys, from check in to check out everyone we spoke to was very nice, polite and helpful, We were 1 adult 2 teenagers and our room was perfect for us, all 3 beds very comfortable, the room was very clean and well stocked but also very modern with two tvs and lots of charging points although not all worked the reception were more than happy to lend an adapter plug to us. Location is great and only a short walk from the train station and also only 7 euros for a taxi into the centre, many good restaurants close by if you use tripadvisor to find them you’ll be very happy, thanks again and see you again in the future.

The hotel location is very good, very close to the Arc de Triomphe, a five minute walk to the subway station can also take a direct bus to and from Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airport. Facilities breakfast also fully reached the four-star standard, the gym is relatively small. The front desk is more enthusiastic. There is a little brother who can speak Chinese, which makes communication more convenient.

Stayed at the B&B hotel for three nights while visiting Disney. Anyone looking for a cheap place to stay this is perfect. Hotel is spotlessly clean, really friendly staff, good sized rooms with comfortable beds and shower room. The hotel serves a simple dinner of pasta or pizza which is great, easy to order and quick to come. Breakfast is simple but just want you need at the start of the day. Tables were cleared quickly and everything very clean and presented well. We were worried about the shuttle overcrowding but there are a few services which only run from the B&B hotel and others which go to the other four hotels on the complex which makes it easy. We always got on a bus even if it was busy and never had to wait long! Lockers are available to store luggage if your arrive before your room is ready or check out early. We will be back on our next disney trip!

We recently stayed 3 nights at Le General Hotel (Mar 9-12, 2020). We were warmly greeted by Gaëlle as soon as the doors opened and we’re very impressed by the hospitality through the check in process (take a seat, would you like tea or coffee, enjoy some baked goods). It was the most pleasant experience after a very long day of travel & so nice compared to the typical wait in line at a cold desk waiting for your room key! Gaëlle who welcomed us, also took some time to answer some questions my husband and I had, including giving us some maps (of the local area, and of the Paris city centre/transit map) and offered some suggestions on where to eat and what to visit. She spoke English well, made us laugh & was a great first impression for the hotel (she also didn’t make us feel like were were putting her out)! Our room was very clean, comfortable and well styled for such a small room (which seems common in Paris) - we even had a balcony which was a very nice surprise! I’m not easily pleased at hotels - typically because of the bathrooms, but everything was clean, and no visible Mold in the shower/tub combo and in the corners of the bathroom floors. Great shower pressure & hot hot water, and the (Skinjay) essential oil shower pods were a very nice touch. We slept great - nice comfortable bed & pillows. We had 1 large suitcase, and 2 small wheeled carry on suitcases. The space was tight (we managed to get our large suitcase opened on the floor between the door, bathroom and bed when we needed to access it) but it was enough space for 2 people. Complements to your cleaning staff, the level of clean remained consistent on each day we stayed (fresh bedding/towels), the coffee station (Nespresso!) & complementary bottled water was restocked every day. We were thankful for the small safe in the room (something that wasn’t offered in other hotels I considered). As first time visitors in Paris, we were unsure of the location, but having the Metro station so close (Republique) we were able to take the train in time to see the sunset at the Eiffel Tower on our 1st night, during our sightseeing & took it back to Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) instead of a taxi to save ourselves (30€) on our way home. We were impressed how easy and clear the metro was to use (we never got lost or confused) and bought t+ tickets (carnet de 10 - 16,90€) for travelling around Paris sightseeing. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, as there were many places we wanted to eat at on our short trip, so we cannot comment on that aspect of our stay. We used the free wifi in the evenings and didn’t have any issues with it, fast & no interruptions in service. On our last day Rachelle, upon checked out, offered to keep our luggage so we could enjoy our last hour in the city before heading to the airport. We had asked about where we could go to buy macarons as we had forgot & ran out of time. Rachelle & Morgane saved the day and offered us a complementary box - talk

For the first time in a hotel model, the century-old building is said to be a historical cultural relics protection unit in Paris, so it is completely banned. My old cigarette can only smoke in a small yard. Miss Luo is very enthusiastic, let us have the feeling of going home. There is a black guy in night shift who speaks Chinese very well. He said that he read a book in Guangzhou. In the morning, the girl named Marty also speaks Chinese. There is no problem at all, and at the same time give us a lot of advice on the tour, much stronger than those that are not reliable. It is very convenient to exit the subway 50 meters away. This area is a safe place for French people to live in. The room is big enough to be the floor-to-ceiling glass window in Europe. Our bedroom is very close to the yard, so the living room is a bit noisy. It is highly recommended to add a Chinese breakfast. It is really not suitable for those cheese breads, and it is better to have Chinese TV. If you have the opportunity to come back to Paris, you will still come to the Paris Residence.

Good location, nearby Carrefour, franprix and other supermarkets! I live on the 2nd floor facing the street, and it is very quiet at night, but the sound insulation between the room and the room is really average. The room is not large and has a balcony (not every room, so it is best to leave a message to tell the room with a balcony when booking) ), There is also a door in the bathroom sharing a balcony with the room, so the balcony is quite large. The hotel only provides shampoo, shower gel and hair dryer. Slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, so it is recommended to bring your own toiletries. Lines 7 and 10 are only 5 minutes' walk from the surrounding area. Line 4 is about 15 minutes away. The 5th district is a Latin area, surrounded by universities, so it is safe! The hotel has access control locks, staff need to help open the door to enter! Breakfast is an ordinary western-style breakfast, bread, milk, eggs, oatmeal, sausage and cheese. A tax of 1.88 euros per person per night, which must be paid to the front desk when checking out. This Ctrip will also call you when you are in China to inform you that this tax must be paid to the hotel separately! The hotel provides free wlan, but the Internet speed is average, the room has air conditioning and heating. In short, the price is high!

We got a beautiful Junior Suite with Balcony, even in the city and on a street with traffic located, it was very quiet and you couldnt hear anything from outside while the doors are closed. It is very spacious and with a very pretty bathroom with luxury amenities from Hermés! And of course full equipped mini bar with Nespresso coffee machine. The breakfast is delicious and a mix from a la carte and buffet, what I love. So you can have everything what your heart desire. The best is the amazing Akasha Spa!! It is so big and has everything, big indoor pool, big sauna, big steam bath, big jacuzzi and a cold bath. Even if they are many relax beds to lay on, sometimes you are just alone and its like you have a private spa. Friendly and helpful staff all around the hotel! I definitely will return!
