As the next day it was a ”market day” we met with a truck in front of the window, which completely prevented us from opening windows and parts with exhaust gas odors (diesel) in the room. No warning of the management or word of excuse on the situation. Damage and disappointment! Date of stay: 7 to 8 April 2023

|3.76km from city centerWhat a super stay in this carefully restored hotel which is run by a very friendly husband and wife team. The other staff are also superb. Set in beautiful grounds with flowers and a beautiful terrace for breakfast al fresco. Pool is perfect with lots of places to relax and lots of loungers with pool towels provided. Room we had (18) was large with a comfy bed and pillows a magnificent shower and lots of plugs in all the right places. Ambience very French and decor thoughtful and beautiful throughout. They get that part 100% right plus the rooms from a practical nature are brilliant too. Located 5 mins from Beaune and so much more than a one night stop en route somewhere. Recent review said carpet not good idea. Trust me it was superb! Stay here if you can.

We found some work on restructuring, but they didn't stop with our living.The comfortable bed,in the very clean bathroom,a beautiful big shower! I liked the numbering of the TV guide of the channels of every nation on my desk.Caffe The boiler,the only fault I found was the chicken in my bed,in July it was a little too much. At the entrance, you could taste a little chocolate croissant... we were good,I advise!

The motel is close to the autoroute but soundproofed from external sounds. If I have one reservation, it's that unusually the bathroom is separate from the WC, which seems rather unhygienic.

|0.75km from city centerEasy journey, great location. Met by reception who parked us, really excellent check in and a map given which was priceless that evening for dinner out. It's a lovely old hotel. The fact it's old doesn't mean anything needs to be shoddy though. Small windows, lots of dark, huge thick net curtains need changing to maximise light. Those coming what period features but want you to think how to make those work. No tea kettle or coffee machine? Not regional. Been to so many hotels in France who throw one in just to be helpful. Be fab to add them. Most don't want to wait till breakfast for their first drink of the day. In a £150 suite it was a shame to have nothing of that nature. Few other little things like really minimal tiny bath towels. Room 30 had no scope on adjusting the shower head so great water power but had to press into the taps to experience the jet. Other rooms do and have a great set up we understand that. It's quirky! It's clean, organised, tidy and friendly. Paying for parking as a overnight guest was a bit of a choker, but maybe there's a solid reason they have. Overnight stop over ..... adequate plus. hotel with obvious history, and I hear the breakfast that we didn't get time for and was extra, was very nice.

|2.86km from city centerThe hotel was booked as a birthday surprise and we enjoyed it 2 days. Beautiful garden around it with a swimming pool. After hot days a very fine cooling. It is just a sleeping hotel with breakfast option for which you pay. We were sleeping in room 203 called Garçon. Small nice room without a bathroom, with TV we haven't used with toilet and shower room. Great place to explore Beaune and the surroundings. We have been on the wine route from Beaune to Meursault and a little further bicycle and one day later made from Aloxe Corton to Clos de Vougeot, both after a rain morning and finally a sunset afternoon.

However, the rooms have no love, no personality, just bare basics. Great for a one night stopover. Breakfast is just OK. Staffed by part-time students who don't deliver great customer service. Not their fault. No real complaints, but would we stay again, no I doubt it. Not great value for money except given its location.

The front desk cheerfully helped us arrange tours and transportation. They were awesome. And, the bartender! The best ever! He knows his cocktails and wines, with an added sense of humor to boot. Do not miss going to the bar everyday you are there. Breakfast on the patio was delicious, again, excellent wait-staff. The lobby and sitting rooms are magnificent. The rooms were also gorgeous and extremely comfortable. I don't know how they do it, but every time we stepped out of our room and returned (even after a few moments), our room was tidied and refreshed beautifully. Beaune is an amazing city, and this hotel is the cream on top.

|1.77km from city centerI want to emphasize this particular feature because it’s not usual. I’ll tell you our sad circumstances but first: there is H parking right by the automatic doors to reception and our room was a straight shot from there. Our key card opened the door by electronic signal. Straight through there is a door to a grassy area. To the left of that a wide door to a huge « wet » room with roll in shower, lowered sink and toilet. Our room, 002, has a king bed, etc, and five feet away against the back wall a third person single bed that is made up as a sofa. There is a full length mirror by the bathroom door. Our booking, done months ago, was non refundable as of two days ago which was no problem as things were going well at that time: but when we arrived at our Irish ferry port we found out that we would arrive in Cherbourg five hours later than the expected Noon. Beaune is over 400 km! So we got here at 3am and thanks to the night attendant Manuel, we arranged by phone a special pickup of our key. He spoke English and reassured us that we would be okay. And we are. WARNING Do not use Garmin GPS but carry a map. GARMIN took us the regular route to the Paris périphérique to A6 WHICH IS CLOSED FOR A HUGE SECTION necessitating a jammed slip road use with trucks and Paris traffic and probably forty traffic lights. THEN we were guided to Orly airport and Garmin was totally off..you could see from the road signs that the nav system was faulty. AND the A6 southbound is closed and detoured from Autun to Beaune (maybe more, I’ll find out soon enough). Being 82 I’m going to have to upgrade my tech, it’s hard, international travel using a pricey ATT iPhone. After Ireland, I’d call this hotel a bargain in a very touristic, charming Burgundian town. That’s my story: you can see why I’m grateful for this wonderful accommodation.

|0.36km from city centerThis is my fourth stay at this excellent old town centre hotel, twice with my wife and twice as a solo traveller. As ever, the hotel was excellent, and my stay all too short. I stayed in room 1, and a feature I appreciated is that each guest who booked into the restaurant is allocated a dedicated table identified by a name tag. There is a new American bar, which works well and I would say is American/French, not brash at all. Give this is Beaune, the wine list was exemplary, as was the food. There was also gated parking which was important as I was driving an expensive red car! I stay in many good hotels but this is one of my favourites. 10/10.

|0.37km from city centerWe were extremely happy with our visit in Beaune, made only better by this lovely establishment. Originally a 14th century Abbey, it is now a very charming hotel. We stayed in a Deluxe room on the second floor. The room was spacious with a great bed and bathroom. Be aware there is NO elevator here so you will need to be able to walk a spiral staircase; if you can do that, you will not be unhappy. A candlelight breakfast was served each morning and was delicious. The serving team were both charming and professional. We highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a truly romantic stay in Beaune. The hotel is located just minutes from the train station ( have them book a taxi for you), and central to everything including restaurants, shops and wine tastings.

But....we arrived at check-in, followed by another family, but had to wait for the receptionist to answer 2 external calls, before she would even acknowledge our presence. We had 3 bikes on our car, which we mentioned. The receptionist just waved to another part of the hotel, indicating where we could store the bikes safely. We subsequently discovered the secure parking, which meant we could leave the bikes with the car, but this was over an hour later, and with no assistance/suggestion from reception. As far as Covid 19 is concerned, the hotel just appeared to be paying lip service, with hand sanitisers available. Breakfast was a complete shambles. Just 1 lady struggling to provide clean trays, no social distancing, not enough room - people were taking trays to sit by the pool, as tables weren't being cleared - again no staff. We all felt very uncomfortable, and subsequently ended up eating on the front terrace - just to get away from other people, and to be able to sit down! Completely understaffed. Would we stay again (a stopover on the way to the Alpes), maybe, but definitely not while Covid19 remains an issue! The English receptionist at checkout, was very 'short'. We got the impression that the staff that were there, were completely overwhelmed.

|0.5km from city centerI stayed here for two nights in November. The hotel is near the train station and the city of Beaune. I had room 5, which has a brand new bathroom that was very nice. The room was nicely designed and everything worked well. I had the optional breakfast both morning. They had freshly squeezed orange juice and nice basket of bread and sweets. I also had ham and cheese that was excellent. The man who we interacted with spoke good English and was helpful. I would certainly go back the next time I am in Beaune.

|0.56km from city centerMy wife and I stayed three nights here. We had been to Beaune 12 years earlier but just for several hours travelling between Lyon and Dijon. We are so happy we stayed here and were able to enjoy the area. We arrived at the train station from Lyon and then by taxi to the hotel. We were fortunate to snag the one taxi at the train station so that might be something you want to arrange ahead of time. The hotel was a reasonable fare, about eight euros and I rounded it up to ten euros for a tip. The hotel is very nice, nothing fancy but more than adequate for a multi night stay. Our room was very good and a very good bathroom, all up to date and clean. The staff spoke good English and was very friendly and helpful. There is a bar in the lobby / common area and we enjoyed wines there. There are a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel is right across the street from the main tourist office which made pick-up for a day long wine tour very convenient. The hotel has underground parking for an extra daily fee. The location was a very easy walk in to the historic center and we had a great time visiting sites and enjoying the numerous shops and restaurants. We left Beaune with a longer list of things to do then when we arrived so we are already talking about a return visit and would stay here again.

|0.69km from city centerThe staff is great! Very friendly, willing to help with kindness and a smile. I don’t know if they had a concierge or not but no problem! The staff (and I mean all of them) got envolved in triying to help in giving the best restaurant recomendations and did me the favor of calling for a reservation every night. The room is simple and a bit rustic but very clean and well kept for being such a historic property. The property is very conviniently located to walk anywhere and has a great parking on the back for 4 Euros a night. The shower head could have been a little bit bigger to cover at least half of the back of a 6’ guy but considering the median in Europe, at least it was fully closed so you had no water running out of it. In all fairness, overall it was a good size comfortable bathroom. With regards to the corner room, I must say there was kind of an issue. It was considerably spacious but lacked a regular (at least mildly comfortable) sofa to just lay down and relax instead of laying down on the bed. Instead it had a (2-3) fairly uncomfortable 🤷🏼antique chairs and a larger 2 seater chair with a bulky an almost completely useless rotating table. Lastly, I must say that since it is in front of an intersection witha trafic light, the room was a bit noisy from the motorcicles and cars constantly waiting and passing. It is considerably acceptable but when the room has the air conditioning turned off (because of winter in Europe) even if it was 50 deegrees F outside (and the sun hits the room until its gone), when you open the window all hell breaks loose. Jajaja!!! I know what it is like to try to sleep in the countryside with roosters and here I had no roosters but about a 100+ crows and their nests almost right in front of the hotel and they can get very loud and way too early in the morning. 🤷🏼 Oh well, a little tolerance here and there is always necessary! I did not complain, slept like a baby and had an excelent stay. I also had an excelent experience in Beaune visiting vineyrads, understanding the region an apreciating theyr rich culture! It is an exceptional place to visit if you like that stuff! Cheers!!!

Hotel bar and snack bar were both good with a friendly manager. The hotel isn’t cheap but, remember, nothing is in Beaune! This is the best Accor property we have stayed at in France in the last few years. Recommended.
