Location always makes the initial impact for hotels. Pere Leon is perfectly located for the majority of Toulouse attractions. Despite being next to a Metro station, with a bus stop outside the door as well, we walked in all directions from here, seeing so much of Toulouse and surrounding areas in Carcassonne and Albi. We arrived by plane, taking the T2 tram to Palais de Justice, then a ten minute walk to the hotel. But, as mentioned, you can use other methods of transport. The staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful. Giving us every opportunity to practise our French, but being able to support in English as necessary. The room we had was very adequate with a very comfortable bed, tea/coffee facilities, air conditioning, hot and powerful shower and excellent TV quality. The room was nice and quiet on the third floor. The hotel does do breakfast. You can obtain lunch (2-4pm?) but not evening meals. However, there are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area that you will find one suitable to your taste/price. This is an excellent hotel, absolutely ideal for a stay in Toulouse. We stayed for six nights very happily.

The entrance to the hotel is plain and unpretentious, in keeping with its heritage. That's just what a history buff like me was looking for on this visit! On my way to my room on the third (top) floor, I had a wonderful view of the picturesque inner courtyard and the peaceful patio. The room was plenty big, and was furnished with simple, period pieces. The all-important bed was modern and very, very comfortable. The bathroom was also thoroughly modern, although there was a bit of exposed plumbing where the new fixtures didn't quite install perfectly in the old building. Regardless, everything worked as designed. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The receptionist speaks English very well. The optional breakfast featured an excellent croissant or "pain de chocolat" (your choice) plus an abundant selection of bread, homemade jams, cheeses, yogurt, and more. The attendant is always nearby and eager to assist wherever needed. The famous terracotta brick historical area starts when you step outside the hotel front door. Many top attractions (e.g. Jacobins, Saint Sernin, etc.) are within easy walking distance, as are countless bakeries and pubs. The tram to Airbus or the airport is just a 10-minute walk away. I recommend the hotel for its location, friendly staff, and historical experience.

If you are planning a trip to Toulouse I really recommend staying at the Beaux Arts hotel. The warmth of welcome from the lovely ladies on reception is matched by the comfort and the wonderful individual and original arty rooms. We were in "Monde" - rich orange and black, vaguely oriental designs on the walls; good en suite bathroom, with bath and over-bath shower. The room is not enormous, but adequate - but it's the view, straight out over the Garonne river, that make this such a great place to begin any tour of Toulouse. We woke to watch the sunrise over the river, basked in sunshine during the day (when we weren't' out exploring) and watched the sunset and then the prettily lit Pont Neuf at night. The hotel is literally minutes from the old city centre. Parking is in nearby Place Esquirol...safe, but expensive: we clocked up 54 euros in three days. Next time I might go by train.Breakfast is in the basement - cleverly lit and with a warm ambience; a good selection of fruit, yoghourts, croissants and bread, with cheese and ham. They had also purchased gluten free bread and crackers for me. We will definitely return.

Four stars for location. Other than that, little wow factor. Maybe my expectations were too up from all the rave reviews. Room felt grim and cramped to me. To call it a specially themed "design hotel' just because there's one picture of a dancer in the dance room, seems a stretch. Bathroom very cramped too. Wouldn't have minded any of this per se if the website hadn't looked over-promising. Upon arrival, there was a long spiel about breakfast (shown in powerpoint!) and after saying I wanted just yogurt and fruit, I was told that would be 14 euros since my room did not include breakfast. I said I could have sworn it did but the girl insisted that this was not so. Not keen on paying 14 euros for a bit of yogurt and fruit, I cancelled the breakfast, but then, out of curiosity, checked my e-mail confirmation in my room, and sure enough, breakfast was included. She said her colleague had checked the wrong box. These things can happen, no problem, but the way to deal with it when a guest seems sure, is to assume they are right first, rather than vice versa. Secondly, I wanted to pay for my room on arrival so I could benefit from the few hours I had to see the city and not worry about it in the morning when catching an early train. This turned into more of a to-do then necessary, having to wait, whereas one would expect it to be pretty easy to print out a bill.

Beautiful environment, good geographical location, convenient transportation, comfortable and sanitary rooms, service staff are very enthusiastic, facilities are very humane, high-speed network signal is good, the view outside the window is good. Excellent Hotel, location and car parking facilities. Hotel validates your ticket and cost per day is around 19 Euros. Car park is located underneath Hotel and you can use your Sat Nav to direct you to the entrance. We spent Christmas with family in Toulouse and found the room and facilities excellent. The privilege rooms are in fact two rooms with one containing a very handy modern kitchen and the other the bathroom. It gave us plenty of space with all our luggage. Both areas have flat screen TVs. The staff were always very pleasant and very helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back. The only negative was the street facing rooms can be noisy when the local bars and clubs close at night, with people passing.

This is an excellent hotel for the price being centrally located for pretty much all you could want in this fabulous French city. The rooms are plenty large enough with excellent shower and toilet facilities. Wifi is strong & solid and heating is adjustable in each room. Breakfast is good quality with a choice of cooked or continental. Staff are helpful and speak good English. We went for a rugby game as a team of four and none of us had any complaints. There is an enormous choice of bars, cafes, and restaurants next, door, near by and a short walk away but you might want to find the market place just around the corner where a whole array of top quality food is for sale but also, on the first floor, there is a wide array of boutique cafe/restaurants all selling high quality local produce. Every desire is catered for. The only thin that might disappoint is you may have to queue as it it very popular with the locals which should tell you all you need to know..

We stayed here for three nights and had a room off the interior patio. Being off the patio is a definite plus as you get no street noise. The room was a good size for a city centre hotel, the bathroom (shower only) actually quite roomy and recently renovated. The front desk personnel were friendly (think it probably included the owner). There are only about 30 rooms so it is small enough that they would recognize you. Note as you would expect for the price, this is not a luxury hotel so don’t expect fancy linens are furniture (though some of the lighting and furniture is beautiful). But neither will get you thinning towels or stained sheets, just regular stuff. Great value.

La Galerie exceeded my expectations! Guy, the host, is very kind and accommodating (and I loved his kitty, Brigitte). His house is charming, immaculately clean, and feels like you are staying with a close friend. My room was very comfortable and quiet - everything seems very new. Parking was very easy - right in front of the house (and free) and because you are not in the centre - you avoid the traffic, and are very close to jump on the autostradas to make day trips. It's also quick and easy to get into the centre of town - the metro is maybe 5 minutes walking, and then 4-5 stops to get right in the center. Breakfast was also delicious. I am really pleased with my experience and highly recommend a stay here! Merci beaucoup, Guy!

Toulouse City Center
Toulouse is all too often overlooked, but it’s one of France’s most historic and fascinating cities. Toulouse is a wonderful destination that hides many surprises. The city hosts a rich architectural heritage and a unique modest character. Its magical pink brick stone buildings is the source of its romantic nickname “la ville rose” and you don’t need to stroll long to understand. Toulouse is filled with surprises, from monuments to quaint small private dooryard, it’s like every time you turn a corner there’s a cute little street to discover. The other advantage is that, even if the city is the 4th largest in France with 400 000 residents, the city center is quite small. You can reach any important sight-seeing spot within minutes as long as your lodging is well-situated, like Villa de Taur. It’s a few steps away from the iconic Saint-Sernin Basilica, the Capitole place, the Pont-Neuf and everything else. After all, the best way to enjoy Toulouse is by foot. VILLA DU TAUR With its Boutique hotel character and modern design, Villa du Taur offers bright rooms decorated with custom-made furniture and colourful pops of modern art, graphic prints & street art inspired pieces. With its 17 specially designed rooms, it’s a chic and modern address that opened its doors after major renovations in April 2016. They’ve decided to keep the iconic pink brick outside, for a complete Toulousain experience. The art is truly at the center stage of the hotel, with local artists such as RESO and MONDÉ as well as international artists and works to discover featured in the restaurant Sixty-Two.

When looking for places to say, I always shop for a low price place a little out of the action so I may "camp" in my room and observe the location without feeling too overwhelmed. This motel was perfect for me and a few international friends I met while travelling to Toulouse for a friendly gathering. My modest little room was enough for my needs. The breakfast buffet at 9 Euro was reasonable and filling. Even when the kitchen was closed one night when I was in too late to catch the kitchen, the night clerk made me a fabulous pizza with strong cheese!

Hotel location is very good, Toulouse train station exit crossing the road, the next day to take a car rental car is also a direct road crossing, with elders travel do not have to toss. The service attitude is also OK, the room is more spacious in terms of European standards, and the comfort of the sofa bed in the living room is also OK. Before I checked in, I found that the road next to the road was the red light district of Toulouse, but there was no strange feeling in the actual stay, and no safety hazards were found. The room has kitchen facilities so breakfast without a hotel can't be evaluated. All in all, it is good to have a train in and out of Toulouse for a short night or two.

the hotel has places in an underground parking, but they are too few. You can park in any place on level -1, remember the number of the parking spot and tell the receptionist. Hand over your key and your car will be put in another place if necessary (people from offices come in early morning). Hotel is ok, good rooms, clean. Restaurant is ok too, enough choice for breakfast (no warm meals though, you can only boil an egg)

Two stars that cost three and are worth only one. the first time I have to ask please for a glass to be able to take a medication. the first time a jacket is lost in a room change in the same hotel ... without any possibility of recovery in the following 5 days of stay. First time I find the door unlucked and they answer me that it is normal for the housekeeper to leave it like this .. (what?) .. first time being inside the room and with music obviously busy and within check in hours .. without knocking they open the locked door .. (what?) .. Clean, yes. Paper walls ... (you can hear everything around you) The basics are so extremely managed that it is little for what they charge and with such serious security issues. Try another! .. surely you will be calmer.

This guest house is in a good location – near tram and metro stops. It was not entirely what expected – about 4-5 rooms in a house, with a very nice young lady running the establishment and providing breakfast etc. It was fine to leave the cases there from mid-morning, but we could not use the room until 16.00 which is quite late, but then we did have access to a small garden at the back of the house. We had a triple room which was spacious and well equipped, the bathroom was a fair size. It is on a busy street so we were glad to have a room away from street. The room was an inner room and the only window opened into the kitchen – not ideal but given the trade-off of this and a noisy street I would take this. There is no air conditioning but there is a fan. Everything was clean. Unfortunately our visit was not without its issues - we became caught in a dispute between the owner and the booking platform, our booking confirmation said breakfast was included, the owner (who lives elsewhere and we spoke to by phone), said it was not and would cost 9Euros each. The written contract was very clear and it was unpleasant having to start our stay with a robust conversation because of this dispute. A few points on this – this happened once before to us and in that case the owner honoured what the written confirmation said without question, in this case we did eventually get a 50% reduction. We would strongly recommend anyone thinking of staying here to double check this rather than find out when it is too late to do anything other than have an argument, which is not a pleasant start to any stay and brought the rating down for us.

The hotel is not considered to be cleaned for three days for short-term visitors. I've stayed in four places in Toulouse and were I to come back needing this kind of space? Absolutley, my new go-to. We were two couples travelling together and had gotten rooms in a nearby hotel but the rooms were quite small. Chanced on this place and switched over. What a change! Great impression from the moment you enter - really a stylish open feeling with a good sized common area, lots of ight. Stylish, modern, very roomy, just a two block walk down a nice street to reach the heart of Toulouse. Several eateries and markets nearby: try the boulangerie across the street: always a line up! One big bedroom, 2nd bedroom smaller, about the same as the first hotel. Very good bedding. Nice room layout with lots of device charging stations and closet space. One washroom with sink, big bath/shower and a separate WC. Small but functional kitchen with all that you might need, counter with barstools. The livingroom has a comfy couch and a couple armchairs , good TV with English language news. And there is a roomy balcony with a patio table. Because the hotel is on a courtyard rooms are very quiet. Parking is available at €18/24 hours under the building with an elevator straight from your suite to your car. Excellent all around!
