3.97km from Leeszaal VreewijkDue to the COVID-19 situation, we didn’t actually visit, however, I feel compelled to write this review to stress how outstanding the customer service was from the hotel, in particular from Laura Dancewicz, Reservations Supervisor. Myself and 25 friends were due to visit from Saturday 23rd to Tuesday 26th May on a stag do. I initially contacted the hotel in December to make a small change to the booking, cancelling one of the rooms for one night. This was done by Laura with minimal fuss. Obviously, the COVID pandemic then struck and we were keeping up with developments across the globe and Europe anxiously, waiting to see whether we’d be able to travel. In early to mid April, given the restrictions in the UK, it became apparent we would not be able to travel. Throughout the whole pandemic, Laura was an outstanding beacon of light in the customer service department, responding to my numerous emails quickly, efficiently and with a positive outlook. At all times, we felt fully up to date with the latest updates from both Accor, who own the Ibis brand, and from the Dutch government as to the restrictions and refund policies. We were immediately offered the chance to move our booking to another date within the next 15 months for no charge. This put us at ease straight away knowing we had this option. As we approached our intended travel date, our preference was to cancel the booking and obtain a refund, rather than reschedule, given the complete uncertainty at present with travel. The hotel was able to reopen two days prior to our arrival date and, as per the companies refund policies, we therefore would not be eligible for a discount. However, Laura, sensing the angst amongst us given most of us are still out of pocket due to cancelled flights, managed to make special arrangements and secured us a full refund. This money arrived back in my account within 3 days of me providing my details. Laura was simply outstanding throughout the whole process and is an absolute credit to the hotel and to the company. We have no hesitation that, when safe to do so, we will be rebooking with Ibis Rotterdam, and that is in no small part due to the excellent service received from Laura.
