Large twin room with sea & mountain view no balcony. Only negative is the shower which is lethal & needs updating. Hotel spotless thanks to Maria our delightful cleaner. Breakfast awesome fresh & tasty everything you could possibly want. Antonio made the best cappuccino I have ever tasted and delivered it to our table along with a double espresso for my sister. 0.39km from Les ArenesRecommended this from Tui rep at travel agents. After much debate about what we wanted it was booked. The location was really nice not far from beach etc. Restaurants a good selection left or right from hotel. The hotel was really clean spacious and the staff very professional. The food was very nice quite good not really any complaints. First problem the bar was like a kiosk behind the reception. It was not frequented as there was know one there to serve. If the receptionist was on the desk there was a possibility of being served. We like somewhere to sit at our leisure to have a drink. The pool was on the roof the lift was out of order no good for me with mobility issues. The pools looked nice but it didn't suit us at all. We like to relax with a drink by the sunbeds and parasols. This was totally out of the question at the hotel. This is why we will not return too many restrictions. The best thing about this holiday beside lovely location was Robert and Olga the reps from Tui office near the hotel. They were so very helpful and gave us good advice on generally getting around. Both of the reps are a credit to Tui holiday company.
0.45km from Les ArenesNot so clean and very small room. but the hotel is near the Beach and Guiseppe is really nice man.two big supermarkets are near the hotel.5 minutes to the beach.sometimes no bread and milk for breakfast but it's ok.

0.69km from Les ArenesStarry Sky is set within an apartment block consisting of other residential apartments. Can be difficult to find from the street but the host is friendly and speaks English so on reflection, we could have given her a call before walking up and down the road! The rooms our very clean, comfortable and modern. Ours came with a hot tub and large bathroom. The rooms have Air Con, a fridge and safe. There is no iron provided in the room and at the time we stayed, the host didn’t have one available. The rooms overlook a promenade and small beach with lovely views. There’s are much nicer beaches within 15 minutes drive if you’re planning on visiting one for the day. Alghero town is beautiful, especially of an evening. Plenty of very nice bars and restaurants and the sun sets over the mountains which can be viewed from some of the bars along the front. The town is approximately a 15 minute walk from the accommodation. There is a tax of a couple of Euros per night which is paid to the host on arrival.

0.87km from Les ArenesFirst elder lady welcomed us to the most lovely restaurant with no harsh feelings nor you came to eat or not. I ordered a steak which was the most delicious steak on planet. The waiters are so so kind and nice, they even came to check how is my meal while I was eating. This was my best meal I had in my whole life. If you are lover for food like me I absolutely recommend this absolutely divine and lovable restaurant.
1.24km from Les ArenesNice welcome by Giuseppe, who takes sufficiënt time to introduce Alghero. Appartment is clean, spacious and extremely well located between Beach and old town. Alghero itself is a lovely place with a beautiful harbour (sunset). On my list to come back!
1.55km from Les ArenesStayed here 7 nights in an upgraded 6th floor room with fantastic views across the harbour and old town. On arrival room cleanliness was very poor however it was dealt with quickly and efficiently by staff. The room was spacious, comfy bed, safe, decent wardrobe, quiet though toiletries and drinks tray were pretty basic, no tissues and only powdered milk. Staff were friendly professional and helpful. Breakfast was adequate but basic, but more than compensated by the view from the 9th floor breakfast room. Location is excellent. For starters the airport bus stops 100m away and the harbour, old town, shops and dozens of reasonably priced restaurants are a 5 min walk. Restaurants we liked were,Nautilus Ristorante and Marcopolo. Beware the cobbled streets, flip flops not recommended. Beware also of the many boat trips to the caves, it’s 32e per couple and the 40 min boat trip is very pleasant. What is not made clear is that on arrival you are done for a further 26e to gain entry to the caves!! Alghero is lovely and we stayed 7 days and enjoyed it but 4 or 5 days may be enough for many. Would we stay at Hotel Catalunya again? Probably on balance yes, great location, nice people, spacious room, quiet, wonderful views, breakfast average for a 4star hotel but overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Alghero City Center
We really enjoyed our stay here, with excellent access to the sea walls, and the centre of the old town. The views from the roof terrace were a bonus. Thank you to Sara on Reception, who was so helpful, and made us feel thoroughly welcome. (Disabled access note : there is one 1" step from pavement to Reception. There is a newer lift that would take a wheelchair/disabled scooter. Breakfast room is accessible. Roof terrace has 1 x 4" step onto it. We didn't use the Spa, so don't know about that. I believe they have 2 adapted bedrooms, but I don't need one of those myself, so can't comment on those. There are 2 viable routes to the city centre, with dropped kerbs available. Parking is an issue, but you can use a street disabled space, with your badges displayed, overnight and for no charge. We found one ok. The sea wall has an extensive walk, all level, and mainly flagstone. Some cobbles, but possible to avoid these. The city centre is accessible, but can be a little rough. Most streets have paved strips within the cobbles though).
Alghero City Center
We stayed here for 3 nights in October. I wanted to love this place, as the owner is lovely and the location is amazing. But. Pluses: - strong, free wifi - free breakfast (but it's just yogurt cups, juice boxes, and packaged pastries) - clean and secure - the "free breakfast" is there 24x7, so you can have coffee and cake any time - very thoughtful table of free items for travelers, like razors, toothpaste, etc. I do worry someone is going to steal everything, though, because people are awful :) - wonderful, responsive owner (we emailed asking for more coffee, he was there in a few hours) - AMAZING location in Old Town walkable to everything: the walls, the fortress, restaurants - large, airy rooms Minuses: - No A/C. It was mid-October, and VERY warm (25C/80F). We had to leave the windows open 24x7 (which is fine for security, all rooms are far off the ground floor). But that is where the problem was. - It is so noisy Fri/Sat nights that you will not sleep. The windows face a bar that is filled with loud, laughing people until 2am, and it is right under the window. At 2am, the bar begins cleanup, and the smashing of glass goes on until 3am. You will not sleep. - Foot traffic under the windows, with loud talking and music, goes on all night. - We finally closed the window to get some sleep, but then it became too hot to sleep. This place needs fans in the room, and to work with its neighbors for quiet hours. Again, I really wanted to love this place; but a guesthouse has just 2 jobs: provide an adequate place to sleep. This B&B cannot do that.
Alghero City Center
My feelings are divided about the Panorama and it’s most likely just a question of taste if you will like staying there or not. The absolute best thing about the guesthouse is the rooftop terrace with stunning views over the harbor and historic walled city. The worst thing is finding parking. If you have arrived in a car, it’s worse than New York City to find a place in Alghero and there are no real parking garages, just free street parking or a large outdoor pre-paid lot near the harbor, so be prepared (if you are unlucky) to circle around unfamiliar streets for 30-40 minutes to find a place and then walk quite a way to the guesthouse. Everything else about the place is somewhere in the middle of good and bad. The room is simply decorated, clean and small with a nice, quiet air conditioning unit. The bathroom and shower are tiny, but so is navigating up the tiny spiral staircase to the kitchen and rooftop deck. As many others have mentioned in their reviews, it is not a place for people of larger stature or with mobility problems! The biggest problem in the room is the bed, it’s just not comfortable for 2 people to sleep in. It reminded me of an old spring bed where you feel every turn on your bones of you or your bed partner. Breakfast is a strange concept of self-service with individually rationed portions per room of fresh fruits, milk, juices, butter and 0% fat yogurt. It wasn’t necessarily an efficient useage of resources as we didn’t eat our portions as the selection wasn’t to our taste. Perhaps they are afraid one room will wake up early and eat everything before the other guests wake up?!? I failed to understand the rationale behind the rationing and also why so many breakfast items that could be bought in bulk, even the sliced bread, were all pre-packaged in tiny portions wrapped in environmentally unfriendly plastic! How wasteful, especially considering their writing on the bathroom wall about preserving resources and not washing towels everyday. It would be so much more practical and qualitative better to have one loaf of fresh bread every day that the guests slice their own, one big bowl of nutella, or yogurt or whatever and much more environmentally friendly, especially in the high season. The coffee, even with a big Jura coffee machine didn’t seem quite right temperature or taste-wise, so I think there is something wrong with the machine. It was the worst coffee we had in all of Sardinia. The last point I would like to touch on is that the hosts are really never there, so they could be the coolest and friendliest people ever, we would never really know besides our very brief encounters during check-in and check-out. It’s a very impersonal experience and probably the biggest reason we wouldn’t stay there again. Part of what makes a holiday so interesting and memorable are meeting the hosts from different small B&Bs or boutique hotels, however, if you have a higher priority for privacy and want very little interaction with the hosts
Il Pagio is a B & B with only 4 rooms, situated in a beautiful and very large garden. The lady was very very friendly. Our room (with in the distance the sea) was large, which was also the case for the bathroom. All was very very clean. We were only there for 1 night. We came from the east coast and as our flight was already at 7 am, we booked this B & B for 1 night. The airport is only a 2 minute drive. The lady was so kind to prepare us a breakfast at 5 a.m. I can really advice this location for its cleanness and for the kindness of the lady.
The 100ys old famiky-owned renovated mansion looks great. Location is cool too. Close enough to Alghero airport, and great beaches surrounded by nature and in front of a beautul vibeyard! Room is spacious, with comfy bed, very good, silent and perfectly-placed air conditioner, great shower, and natural local olive oil shampoo & soap included. Minibar is a nice addition. The style of the room is modern Sardinian. Nice! Pool is small with good beach chairs but the owner has plans to expand it. The jacuzzy with vineyard mountain view is cool! Outdoor Breakfast is quite rich. Fresh eggs from home chickens, homemade cakes, local sheep ricotta cheese, homemade mandarin & lemon jam, croissants, warm toasted bread, muffins, cappuccino, pineapple or orange juice, and sardian salsiccia. Owners are nice and accommodating. This is THE PLACE if you have kids or for lovebirds looking for a quiet getaway. Close to everything. You need to rent a car but that is required in Sardinia if you want to have a full island experience! The only minus is the noise from cars but it's not a major issue. Higly recommended!
OMG where to start? Maybe first Alessandro, the proprietor and host, who is an absolute pearl, who makes you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. He takes the time to explain all you need to know to enjoy your stay at the guesthouse and in the region, giving you tips, advice and suggestions, depending on your taste in activities and interests. He makes sure you have everything you need. He recommended great restaurants, sights to see, places to visits and activities. He's always available and opened to have a chat and listen to requests. Second: the guesthouse is just an awesome place to spend time and relax. by the pool, in the hammocks or on the terrace. It's just a few minutes by car from Alghero and it's easy to go and visit the sights and beaches in the area. We had rented the studio, which was well equipped and very spacious. We could use the table outside our studio to have breakfast or lunch (or eat at the table inside (but why do that when it's warm and pleasant outside!). The propriety is well furnished in little areas to spend time and relax outside, chairs to read, tables to have some appiritivi before heading to town for dinner. The pool was very much appreciated in the warm afternoons, Third: The area of Alguero is rich in many great activities to do, all nearby from the guesthouse, which is a great basecamp. There are two big supermarkets near to do groceries if you decide to cook at the studio. We didn't have time while we were there to use the great BBQ area but it's available to use to all the guests and Alessandro will make sure you have everything you need. All in all, this is an absolute gem of a guesthouse, from which many could take inspiration in the art of being a great host! Thanks again for everything Alessandro!
