We had a fantastic stay at the Shelburne hotel for my 40th birthday. The staff were all so kind and left a bottle of wine in the room for my birthday. Loved the happy hour for drinks in the lobby every day and the location was great too. Only a short walk from Grand Central. All staff were lovely - reception, our maid service, the staff in the restaurant for our takeaway coffee, the staff serving the wine at the happy hour. We were there for a week and I loved having a coffee and reading the New York Times in the lobby each morning. You really contributed to my 40th and so glad we got there so thanks again and we will definitely return once things get back to some normality!!

If you like quiet and are tired of hotel lobbies full of scenesters and noisy crowds waiting to go up to the trendy rooftop club on top of the hotel (or to crowd into the trendy restaurant in the lobby), then the Kitano is for you. There is nothing trendy about the Kitano and that was just fine with me. As many have remarked, the rooms are very quiet. My room was on Park Avenue and I heard no street noise at all, allowing for a very good night's sleep. As many others have remarked, the beds in the room are way too soft -- one reason I rated the hotel a 4 instead of a 5. I had a junior suite, which was quite spacious. There were two spacious closets, which was appreciated, because I have stayed in suites at the nearby Mondrian where even in a suite there is inadequate closet space. In the closet were very nice slippers and a robe. One downside of the room was that it was dark and gloomy, even during the daytime, despite having three windows. I guess just not a lot of light coming in when facing Park Avenue. I thought the furniture in the room looked very dated -- not really beat up or anything (and I have stayed in supposedly nice hotels in New York like the Sofitel where the furniture was definitely beat up and needing to be replaced), but just having a dated look like the place was decorated circa 1980. There is a desk in the room which I appreciated -- a lot of hotels have taken desks out of rooms, apparently under the misimpression that even business travelers never have to set up a laptop and work. Re having to pay for Wifi in the room -- stop complaining. As of this writing, the Kitano is one of few 4 or 5 star hotels not charging a $35 or $40 "amenity" fee in exchange for your "free" Wifi. Instead, the Kitano charges $10 for nightly Wifi access in the room (free in the lobby), which means if you need Wifi and don't have your own, you can pay $10 a night versus a $35 or $40 a night amenity fee. Personally, I travel with my own Wifi hotspot, which I had to go out and purchase after staying at the Mondrian whose $35 a night amenity fee gets you a Wifi connection that is so slow as to be non-functional for business purposes. So "free" Wifi doesn't even necessarily get you workable Wifi. I think it is a good deal to pay $10 a night at the Kitano if you need Wifi rather than a $35 or $40 nightly fee that gets you Wifi whether you want it or not. As a tea drinker, I was delighted to have a tea maker in my room, just like at every hotel in Japan. The tea provided is not the highest quality, but as a tea fanatic, I travel with my own teabags and was happy to be able to brew up wonderful tea in my room. And please people on TripAdvisor stop complaining about no free water and the price of water at the Kitano. It's the same as every other hotel in New York. If you want low cost water, there are tons of nearby places you can buy it and there is a small space in the minibar for your own personal items. The bathroom was spaciou

We stayed here mid December and were looking forward mainly to the location, having previously stayed on the upper west it was good to have some of the main locations nearby. You're within a few minutes walk of Grand Central station so that should give you an idea of roughly where you are, nowhere is too difficult to get to either on foot or from the station itself. The accomodation we knew prior to going would probably fall under the budget category however if you're going into Manhattan to spend time sightseeing then the amount of time spent in the room should be minimal. So that being said we were just happy to have a hotel that was clean and gave us a comfortable base for our exploring and Seton certainly did. The room was well kept and cleaned daily, we opted for a room with a private bathroom (the only thing we would always look to have) and whilst being on the small side it was perfectly adequate. The staff on reception were always very welcoming with the exception of one young lady but we encountered at least another 4/5 people who couldn't help us enough. Would have absolutely no trouble with going back to the Seton, in fact i imagine we will if we ever visit the city again - the only thing i would say is providing you aren't going expecting luxury you'll be fine. It does exactly what it needs to and for the price you pay, and the location you are in you really can't fault it.

Formerly the Williams University Club, it has been reincarnated with a nod to William Shakespeare and imaginings of a proper British dining club with a boutique hotel. There are two "speakeasy" rooms recalling the glamour of the Prohibition era plus a full restaurant serving delicious pub food. The hotel rooms are very well-designed with good space. The only criticism I would have is lack of a proper work space for the business traveler, but it's not a deal-breaker to staying there.

After booking a hotel within a package deal (prior to Pestana) without reading the reviews (which were terrible, I'm talking hotel from hell levels) I opted not to take the chance and book the newly opened Pestana. This turned out to be the BEST decision I could have made for me and my fiancé on our holiday to NYC... we were greeted with a very friendly hostess and check-in was very quick. Yeah sure the room is small & cosy for sure but couldn't be cleaner if they tried which was our main concern. The bed is huge & amazingly comfortable plus it's silent to sleep in peace after a long ass day in the city. Everything is really modern and the shower room is nice and hot. 46" Smart TV is a great touch and free wifi too. The room was cleaned every single day with fresh towels given and if we needed any more it was just a phone call and they were brought right up. Small fridge, safe and a coffee machine is also in the room which is nice! The only drawback is lack of space for your clothes as there isn't a wardrobe so we just kinda lived out the suitcase, not the biggest issue in the world to compromise with is it! The location is SECOND TO NONE! A few blocks from Grand Central Station. You are so close to everything but not staying in what I ended up calling "the zoo" (Times Square) I could only imagine how annoying that would have ended up being if we stayed there. The price was exceptional for what you get from the service, to the cleanliness, the bed, the location. Would recommend over & over and we would 110% love to return in the future!

I stayed at the Dylan Hotel for about 10 days when I first moved to NY. It’s very conveniently located near Grand Central, restaurants, retail. The best part is the STAFF! They are the nicest, most accommodating people I’ve met in hotels. I had a few challenges booking because my dates kept changing. Klein, Director of Operations, went out of his way to make it work for me. Taylor, the Manager, and Jasmine, front desk, treated me with kid gloves. The room was cozy, comfortable, quiet & clean. I will tell all my visiting friends & business associates to check it out. I strongly recommend booking directly with the hotel.

We had a city visit planned between Christmas and New Years. We had booked a place in Jersey since it was the only decent priced place we could find but upon looking around found this which was fairly comparable so we changed our reservation. It’s fairly centrally located. Only about 0.5mile from Macy’s and other shopping (and the Empire State Building if that’s on your agenda), and it’s about 1.5miles from the theater district and Rockefeller Center. We were mostly seeing shows down in the theater district and chose to walk the entire time and didn’t have any problem. The neutral rating is because I feel the price and location is almost where the positives end. Our room was decent sized, clean, had a fridge/microwave, and had a tiny sliver view of the Empire State Building. However, the bathroom door is designed to stay closed (when open it blocks the main door) and there was no way to keep it open. This was very annoying...we had to use a hair tie to keep it open when we so wished. We also didn’t notice the luggage carts right away and no employees mentioned they had some even when watching us struggle to get our luggage upstairs. My biggest gripes are probably with the luggage storage and valet parking. We stored about 5 bags between the 2 of us. They took them and laid them near the desk. We came back a while later and some of the bags were still laying there unattended, including my backpack which had my $3000 MacBook in it. None of the staff was paying attention to it, someone could have easily came right up and grabbed it with no notice. I didn’t appreciate that they just left it there. So if you store luggage make sure you watch to make sure it goes into the room before you walk away. I’ve never seen this before anywhere else. Also we wanted to valet park...when we got there they tried to convince us to just street park instead. I found that weird and really didn’t want to leave our car on the street. We noticed that, like our luggage, it too was left unattended and street parked for a good while. Not sure why someone didn’t take it right away. Despite the negatives it was a decent room in the city. If the price was as comparable as it was when we booked I would likely stay again.

I read a lot of comments and chose this hotel. I really didn't choose the wrong one. The location is very good, whether it is a long-distance bus or subway, or take the airport bus to the airport, or want to go to the Grand Central Railway Station, very close. . . There is also Times Square. . . At the intersection of 41st Street and Madison Avenue, the door is small, mainly the name on the door is written in a special font, which made us not notice when we first went there. 200 meters away from the New York City Public Library, which is not 200 meters away from Fifth Avenue, it is not necessary. There are three types of rooms in the hotel, which are about 19, 25, and 33 square meters, and 19 is relatively small. I booked 25 for the second night, but the order information sent by Ctrip to the hotel was wrong. The first night I checked in was the 19 room. It was very late to react. The size of the room was wrong. I coordinated with the front desk and Ctrip. Ctrip immediately found the problem and made compensation, and moved to the largest room of 33 the next day. If it is a single person, the room of 19 is enough. For two people, the baggage can't be opened, and it can only be put to the bedside. In addition, in particular, after the store, the hotel charges a fee of 20 US dollars per day. This fee is breakfast, all-day coffee snacks, afternoon tea, which is very worthwhile. Especially afternoon tea, with cheese, fruit, a variety of small snacks, red and white wine and champagne. . . . In addition, this location is on 41st Street, when the 99th Street in Central Park in New York is basically a full 2km. I ran in the morning and ran another 10km in Central Park. I am very happy. Central Park is a must-see for everyone who loves sports. Running, cycling, and dog-walking are all very good. . .

The Marmara is by far my favorite hotel to stay at in NYC! The hotel is centrally located to explore this great city and make the most of your visit. The hotel interior is stunning! From the start, the staff were all very courteous, accommodating, and professional in answering and addressing all my needs and concerns. Before my arrival I had ordered meal preps to have delivered to the hotel to enjoy during my stay. Upon checking in, the gentleman at the reception desk named Roger informed me that my meals had not only arrived but, he had graciously taken it upon himself to store them in my room refrigerator. Props to Roger, thanks so much, I greatly appreciated that! The room itself was in pristine condition. All in all, I highly recommend staying at The Marmara. I look forward to my next stay!

The Hotel is located right beside a Starbucks on 5th Ave (Also considered the Hotel's lobby restroom, when opened for business). Check in was quick and easy. Room assigned on the 3rd floor, the standard 1 bedroom was very comfortable, but that type of room will only fit 2 people comfortably MAX! The bathroom was hidden behind a slide door which looked like the door to a closet, freaked us out for a second wondering if the room came with a bathroom lol. There is no closet in the Standard room, just a few hooks behind the door of the room. Traveling for a night or two was fine. Street noise is very noticable, but wasn't a problem once the city quieted down around 3am. Street parking is terrible in this area at best, use the SpotAngels app for best available parking garages in the area. Overall, I'd stay here again. NOTE: Security Deposit: $150 (Not sure if it's per night or per trip, stayed just 1 night), refunded at check out (Confirmed). Resort Fee: $22.96 (Not sure if it's per night or per trip) (Non refundable)

This is the first time I have ever submitted a review. Our stay at the Langham NYC was so great it deserved the time to do this. Service: Even though we were put into a very nice room, I was looking for something with a better view. I went down to the front desk to explain my thinking and the Front Desk Manager (Sarah) immediately came from behind the desk and gave me a personal tour of other rooms within the hotel that I could move too. I have stayed at many 5 star hotels and never had someone so accommodating. We ended up paying a bit more to upgrade to a larger room - Sarah made the move super easy and within minutes my family and I were in the new room. Later that night, she had them bring up fresh baked cookies and milk for my kids! We felt so well taken care of. Even my kids were stating how nice Sarah was and how welcomed they felt because of her. Doormen were all great as well. Rooms/Hotel: The room itself was amazing. Everything was in perfect order and super clean. This is the first room I have ever stayed in that I was not able to find anything that was not perfectly cleaned. The hotel itself it also immaculate everywhere we went. Dining: We ate breakfast both mornings at Ai Fiori. It was perfect! The service was great and the food was even better. I could write another whole review on this restaurant alone. Next time we will be having dinner there as well. Overall - Sarah and the Langham contributed to one of the most memorable family getaways we have ever had.

I have temporarily relocated from NYC to Florida for the Fall/Winter but had to come back for business and discovered this luxury boutique hotel. I actually cannot believe that I did not know about this hotel. It is chic and hip in a beautiful landmark style building. The contemporary art touches in the decor are super sexy. Location is also great. Located north east of Madison Square which means you are close to Madison Square Garden, Times Square and a brief commute or taxi ride downtown or uptown, east or west. I walked almost everywhere when the weather allowed. That is the beauty of the city and this location. Unfortunately, the restaurant and lounges were closed due to CV-19 but I cannot wait to return to experience the restaurant and lounge which read like a fashionable artsy private club. Totally my vibe!! I've been telling my friends about this place nonstop since my arrival. Lol! PS: I judge every establishment by the quality of their drip coffee. HGU did not skim on that either. The drip coffee served in the a.m. was excellent drip coffee. My room was perfect. I had a Queen Deluxe I believe. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious and very nice subtle industrial style fixtures. Anyways, I could go on. If you are traveling during these odd times or just need a break from your living situation, this is the best cost value right now!! I am a fan!!

The hotel's configuration is good, dishwasher, microwave, induction cooker, refrigerator, dishes and cutlery are very full! It's just that the scoop and shovel are not easy to use, but you can do it! The hotel room is large, a dressing room, and two large closets. There is an anteroom in the entrance. The kitchen has an island and a dining table. The family is definitely very relaxed. But the shortcomings are too prominent, that is, the refrigerator is very noisy. At night, the noise is not good at all. The sound of the air conditioner is louder and the heat is very fast. It is sleeping in an air conditioner. The noise feels like sleeping in the open hood. Next to it, the booming night collapsed! If the air conditioner is turned off first, the second refrigerator is still very noisy and can't be turned off, so sleep and fear the noise to give up! In addition, the curtains are blinds, and they are not shaded at all. This is not human! Let's talk about the advantages. The hotel is just outside the Wall Street subway station. There is an exit on the 2. and 3 lines in the hotel. It is especially convenient. It is also very close to the 4th and 5th lines! The hotel is very convenient for transportation. It is a 5-minute walk from Trinity Church and a 10-minute walk from Wall Street Copper Bull. The opposite side of Tongniu is the Museum of American Indians. The building is particularly beautiful! It’s also about 10 minutes walk from the boat dock to see the Statue of Liberty. It’s really convenient, and the surrounding security is better. There are not so many tramps! The hotel has a big food supermarket for 3 minutes. The food for cooking can be fully purchased. Turn right and go straight for 5 minutes. There is a very complete daily necessities supermarket. It is also convenient. In short, in addition to huge noise, other The place is worth experiencing, the bathroom is easy to use, the toiletries are all L'Occitane, the mattress is soft but comfortable, the pillows and quilts are also very soft and comfortable, the bed is USB charging and humanized, except for the bathroom mirror I don’t know what to do with the nonsense owls. It’s very scary to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. The others are very human! In addition, I saw that there is a guest feedback that there is no smoke exhauster. In fact, I have not found a place. The switch of the smoke exhauster is on the microwave oven. The light is the light of the hood. The FAN is the switch of the smoke exhauster. The blinds next to the air conditioner outlet are seen. It is one piece, it is actually a cover, and the air conditioner switch is hidden inside.

My boyfriend and I spent the night here awhile ago and we couldn't be happier with our stay. The hotel feels very sexy so it was perfect for our little staycation. We're right next to Times Square so we got to be tourist in our city. The rooftop is gorgeous. We had the king suite overlooking the street with wall to wall windows. It was a great change and escape from our tiny Brooklyn apartment. Would highly recommend for a sexy night in NY:) Also shout out to the GM Jeremy Poon if he's still there. Amazing hospitality from the bellman to the front desk to the housekeeping team.

1. Good location: 9/11 new building and Memorial Museum just outside the window. 2. Convenient for travel. It takes 3 minutes to walk to New York's line 1, 2, 3, E, R, W. Taking a taxi is also very convenient. 3. Good service: there are people in the lobby 24 hours, and a deposit of 250 yuan for 5 nights. 4. The room size is OK and the facilities are complete.

It ’s not the time to come out this time to catch the epidemic every day. This hotel is not cost-effective. The deposit is 600. Breakfast is basic for more than 100. Every night, the food is delivered to the room for more than 130. The 600 deposit is not enough. I ca n’t say that the deposit is refundable. The bathroom is super small, especially the shower and hand basin. What ’s wrong? Drop the ensuite sofa into the toilet. The sofa can be turned into a bed. I think the next time I go I will choose to live in New Jersey across the Madison River to see the buildings in Manhattan. It was so noisy that at least ten policemen were parked downstairs 24 hours a day.

I was going to NYC to see Elton John and was to stay at The New Yorker. Well... neither happened. I had made non-refundable reservations but called the hotel to see if their policy would change during this crisis. Every person I spoke to was so nice and helpful. One person that really stood out was Neida Aldama, a supervisor at the front desk. She was incredibly kind and compassionate about the situation, and offered that my prepayment be used as a credit that I can apply anytime in the next year (hopefully if/when Elton John reschedules!!). I feel that this was very generous, given the fact that they had every right to tell me I was SOL. Neida even went so far as to call me to directly answer a question I had. I know that they are dealing with a lot and are working with a skeleton crew, so that phone call really blew me away. Thank you Neida and The New Yorker!
