We were very satisfied with this stay. We didn't expect to have a separate kitchen equipped with a large refrigerator, complete kitchen utensils, and four stoves for cooking. We cooked Chinese food twice and the children were very satisfied. This is one of the most satisfying accommodations during this trip to the United States.

I have enjoyed several stays at Hotel Hive over the past year and it gets better each time. This place elevates ”quirky” to an art form. Every room is unique, and the building itself is neatly wedged between F and Virginia Ave on the fringe of the GW campus and is in walking distance to the Kennedy Center. For more ambitious hikers you can walk just about anywhere in DC within 45 min. -- or if you really like to live dangerously, roll the dice with Metro at nearby Foggy Bottom. West End DC is generally quiet and bucolic with a lot of students dotting the sidewalks day and night. Note: Hive is a Funkatorium. It wears Hipster on its sleeve but does so with warmth, style, and the right amount of snark. (If you like Hampton Inn, you might not like it here). As a micro, some rooms 6 feet wide, some a foot or two larger than the bedframe, but the coveted Octagon rooms offer 8 windows of streaming light. I played with the automatic shades for a couple of hours. The staff is unfailingly charming, with positive energy bordering perky. (I normally hate perky but for them it works). Brooke, Kiera, and Q are adorable and sit way up on the service chain. (A part of me wanted to give a fake 1-star review simply on the off chance I might dissuade one of you cuz on busy weeks rooms can be hard to come by. But the staff worked too hard to do that).

Stayed there last month and wasn’t disappointed. Great location for the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, and Washington Monument. Easy to get to the GWU Foggy Bottom Metro Station from where you can travel anywhere in the DC Area. Hotel rooms are very well laid out with comfortable beds and plush pillows. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. There is a coffee bag processor in the rooms with supplied creamer and sugar. There is a mini fridge in the room too. There is a Starbucks on the corner and a Subway next door to the hotel. Around the block there is a 7-11 Convenience Store.

I stayed here for business meetings. The hotel is in SERIOUS need of a makeover. I'm not a big fan of residence inns given the variability in their quality, but I chose this place for the location and for price. I know why I got the price. The hotel is right next to GWU and Foggy Bottom Metro and it's great location for running if one wants to go to mall or over to Arlington.

My first room was ok until the lights started flickering and wouldn't turn off. The TV n remote then malfunctioned. So i went to the front desk and De'Angelo helped us. He sent a staff up top check it out. After thr engineer came up, he left to tell De'Angelo to switch or room. So they did, but only thing they had available was a downgraded room, so he put in some notes for us and got us comped a room with a balcony for out last night's stay. He and the night staff are excellent and he's only been here a short while. Now the day staff on other hand was terrible. Went t.i grint desk at 11 to inquire about our room upgrade, and was told it's being prepared, but we didn't get switched until about 4pm. We had an itinerary that we couldnt complete due to us waiting for our room switch. Also asked room service for 2 sets of silverware, and they brought them up about an hour and a half later, and also entered our room without notice while iwas in the shower. So when u come to the Watergate, your night experience will be way more enjoyable then dealing with day staff.

The location of the hotel is good, and the facilities are relatively new. However, an Indian waitress at the front desk had a bad attitude and gave us a room opposite the elevator on the first floor. As a result, the room was very poorly soundproofed. She talked loudly when cleaning at 6 o'clock in the morning, and the floor fell off. The sound of each thing can be heard clearly, plus the noise of people taking the elevator early in the morning, it is really too noisy. Before going out at noon, I found the front desk and said that I wanted to change the room. At first, I said no, and then I was given a room on the second floor. The next day, I found that it was directly above the garbage room. The garbage was loaded and unloaded in the morning, and the air conditioner in the room was sounding like a tractor. Fortunately, it was not turned on when it was not hot at night. I was too lazy to negotiate with the front desk. I seriously suspected that it was targeting Chinese people!

We’ve been going to the River inn for over 35 years and as always, had a wonderful time. A special thanks to Bettina and Brandy, at the front desk, for ensuring that we got a spacious room facing the charming tree lined street. The River Inn, all suites, offers the absolute best location ( and value) in Foggy Bottom, with an array of restaurants, lively GW campus, Metro only 3 blocks away, quick walk to Georgetown and a nice stroll down to the Lincoln Memorial.

We got there are 12.45 8/7/22, when we got there the gentleman on the desk said we had not booked them he acted as if he couldn't be bothered, bearing in mind our group had 4 young children with us ages 3, 4, 5 and 6. Eventually he got us rooms, mine was the penultimate room and I had the 3 and 4 year old with me. I went to my room and it had not been cleaned the beds were unmade, there was a bag of rubbish and a full bin. On top of this there were also stains in the kitchen area. I made the decision to call and mention it so the man told me to come back down. I got the children and went back to reception, he gave me another room and I went up to room 805. My card did not work so I tried it again, and again until a gentleman came out and said it was his room. I apologised and took my shattered children back down to reception, by this point it was nearing 2am and after being awake and travelling for over 24 hours everyone was tired. I was given another room, this one was nice but the door didn't lock so I piled the suitcases up in front of the door. Needless to say my stay was not the best. The doormen were very helpful and lovely, however I would not return to the hotel or recommend it to anyone else. J. Waterman

The staff is amazing. It was raining one night while walking to dinner and the front desk gave me her own personal umbrella to use. Our flight was cancelled and booking an extra night stay was very easy and the staff was so accommodating. The rooms were great too. There is no view, but the layout of the rooms are pretty great and quiet. The ”06” rooms are the best in the hotel and I would request this room on any floor. The location is a block from metro stations. Also walking distance to white house and many restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

My family of four spent a long weekend here. The spacious apartment was clean, well equipped and a super base for exploring DC. Staff helpful and efficient and location is superb - close to metro stations and just a few blocks from the White House. Sort of a hybrid between hotel & apartment - it was exactly what we needed. Kitchen is well equipped although you do need to bring even the basic essential consumables. I certainly hope to be able to use other AKA properties in future.

I cannot say enough about the customer service. From the front desk staff, to the valet staff to the housekeeping staff...everyone was FANTASTIC! Everyone had smiles and kind words to start your day and end your evening. Management interacted often with guests AND staff and frequently rolled up their sleeves at any opportunity to ensure processes went smoothly. The facilities were exceptionally clean and were constantly being attended to. The location is ideal for walking and or shopping or sitting on the balcony with a beverage to people watch. The old adage applies...you get what you pay for. Oh, by the way, in this cashless society, be sure to have a few bucks for tips. They certainly earn and deserve it.

I recently hosted a conference and board meeting at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel. I stayed twice- once in September to do a site visit and had a particularly friendly welcome from Gelila who helped me out multiple times and made me feel welcome and cared for. She really made my experience memorable. Working with Jada and Megan to book the event was really easy, friendly and efficient. When I came back to host my event I was really welcomed by the staff. Kendra always made sure I had what I needed to make sure my event ran smoothly and kept track of many different needs our group had. She was very responsive and helpful. Negasi, Rosario, Helen and Amir took care of us with our catering and were such authentic and caring people. They all made us feel like family. Negasi particularly noticed what we needed and made strides to change the plan to accommodate for our particular event. He is a wonderful person. Other front desk helpers, like Taylor, also really enhanced the experience. Everybody really actedl like a human being and I really appreciate it. I am so grateful each time I went down and saw Gelila at the desk because I felt like I could count on her generosity and friendly warmth! Thank you all for the care and consideration during our event! Next time will definitely book here.

The room is very spacious and the decoration is relatively new. There is a living room and a bedroom. The mini bar with a sink is very convenient. The bathroom is also very spacious. There are everything you need for breakfast. It is hot in the morning, and there are free drinks and biscuits in the afternoon. It is also very close to whole foods, about ten minutes walk from the subway, and the free shuttle is very good

Overall this was a lovely hotel and somewhere I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Free parking is a plus in this area, which is definitely not suburban-feeling although it's not in DC proper either. The hotel is a somewhat unique design, on a corner and wrapped around several sides of an above-ground lot and a single level of underground parking, both accessible for guests. Rooms were fresh and clean and well furnished. All the staff I interacted with were pleasant. I stayed for six nights and was quite comfortable. I did request a change of sheets for one bed midweek which never did happen despite the assurances of the front desk that it would, and our keys stopped working at two different occasions during the stay and had to be reissued -- based on what we saw from other guests, the key thing seemed fairly common. Breakfast was high quality and plentiful -- toast, bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, rotating hot foods (usually sausage and egg/cheese omelettes or an egg patty), two waffle irons w/ normal and strawberry batter, oatmeal, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, various kinds of cereal + milk, doughnuts/pastries, and more. It was available right at the scheduled start time of 6:30am. Seemed to be fully restored to pre-COVID levels. The hotel has an hourly shuttle that runs to the Ballston-MU Metro station, which is otherwise an easy half-mile walk. The neighborhood is walkable and has many restaurants and bars that are just a few minutes from the hotel on foot. In a car, it's about 15 minutes from the hotel to the White House area. DC hotels tend expensive, and this seemed like a good deal for a solid stay in an accessible location. The few annoyances were minor and the benefits of this location were significant. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good price for a DC-area stay.

The rooms here are comfortable and I like the modern decor and features in the room & bath...the shower is wonderful. Since my stay was during the pandemic, the services had been reduced but there was a morning coffee service that helped get the day going. I also appreciated the on-site laundry room. The machines in the gym were equipped with individual t.v. monitors. The hotel also has a shuttle to national airport. The best part of the hotel is the excellent/friendly service you receive from the staff. The only recommendation I would make would be to inform guests about dining options since the hotel could not provide anything b/c of covid. A few take-out menus or a list of nearby options (even if just posted in the lobby) would be helpful.

The price of the hotel has an advantage, and it is basically clean and tidy. However, the air conditioner is too old and noisy all the time. In addition, the underground garage is being partially repaired, and the parking spaces are very limited. The parking spaces and aisles are very narrow, and the upper pipes in some places are too easy to scrape the roof. Friends who drive large cars should pay attention.

I like to stay in different Hilton family properties across the portfolio when I stay in different cities. A trip out the new section of the Metro Silver Line brought me to this location. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I have stayed in many hotels and know the standards I expect from each brand in the portfolio. This Hilton provided me with a pleasurable and ample stay. As always I chose my room along with pre-check-in the day before my arrival. Upon arrival I was pleased to find that the entrance to the hotel is literally at the top of the exit from the Metro. I went right to my room with the digital key, bypassing the front desk. I would later return to get the water bottles I was entitled to. The room was certainly a good size for a suburban location... plenty of room for everything. The bathroom satisfactory as well with enough space for my toiletries. The shower had no hot water issues. Climate in the room was easy to control, although it was fairly mild outside for early December. In the morning, breakfast was served at the place on the second floor, a typical buffet offering with many diverse choices. All in all this place comes highly recommended if in the DC area; it's easy to get anywhere by Metro.

The pros: great location, staff is welcoming and helpful, breakfast was good. Very close to great restaurants, shopping and Metro stop. Easy to walk to any of these. The cons: none significant. FWIW: You have to stop your car at the front and check in to get a parking pass - cost is $35 a day. Not a lot of room for your car while you’re checking in, but they are quick. If you are accustomed to an HGI in a more suburban location where you have plenty of room to park and have some distance from others, you’ll feel cramped here. But it’s a big city and it can’t be helped. Plenty of city noise, but none from the hotel itself.

Tip: if you require a handicap room with a specific capability (roll-in show for example) do not rely on calling central reservations to get the room choice right. I received a confirmation for a specific room only to find out it did not exist at the property. When I identified this to the receptionist on-duty I was told to return at 3pm when other rooms would open up and that the staff on duty could assign me the correct room. Turns out in hindsight that receptionist knew (my gut feeling) knew the room did not exist on that property and left the issue for the next shift to figure out. While the next staff shift tried to figure it out, the manager put in a few words then promptly left the property. The receptionist was on hold for over 75 minutes with their central reservations POC when I finally called the members number and then married the two together to locate a room.

Stayed two nights for business meeting held at the hotel. Service is very good, the rooms are updated and very clean, and the location is very convenient to the Metro via underground shopping center walkways. It's one stop from the airport, and just ac ross the river from the Capitol Mall. There is currently lots of construction which is noisy, and the usual traffic and airport noise is also noticeable. Ear plugs greatly improve the sleeping experience - without and you'll likely have issues. The heat/AC is also very loud - I turned mine off at night. There is an easy to access recreational trail for running or using rental bikes.

This is what I wrote to the Manager of the hotel. Mr. Hassan, Let me congratulate you on assembling one of the finest teams of hotel workers I have known. I especially want to point out Diamond, Larry, Carl, Melanie and Lourdes at the front desk and Johannes in housekeeping. Although I didn’t speak to any of them I also appreciate the maids who serviced our room every day. The reason I want to mention each person is because each addressed the issues we were having in a friendly, personal and professional manner. When my husband and I get to our room, we go over it to make sure anything out of place is mentioned to the front desk staff before we unpack. We found the living room chair in disrepair, a knob missing from the stovetop and the TV wasn’t working. By the time we returned to the front desk with our report, Diamond was on duty and asked if we wanted to change our room. She personally came to the second room and we told her that we preferred the first room if the items that needed addressing could be resolved. In fact, some were resolved by the time we returned to the first room. I also want to let you know that I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time! This was my first time at a Residence and my husband and I agree that we now need a reason to come back. Having a full refrigerator, free wifi, hot buffet breakfast, a fantastic and helpful staff and all the other amenities has made this our go-to for future stays in Arlington/Crystal City. I only have one suggestion to make and that is for your buffet. I know there may be safety rules involved, but a hot buffet should stay hot; one morning I was the first one there and by the time I got to my table the waffles were cold. This continued the next days for the pancakes and french toast. If there’s a problem with keeping a flame under each tray, may I recommend you put one or two small microwaves in or immediately outside the buffet area.

I have already recommended your hotel to a friend. And I’ll continue to do so to any and all who ask “What’s the best hotel in Arlington?”

We usually stay at the one in Rosslyn, one Metro stop away. However, this time we wanted a two-bedroom suite and Rosslyn did not have availability. First, the rooms. This includes two bathrooms, so it could easily be shared by two couples. The living room is compact and includes a TV, as does each bedroom. The kitchen has everything except a toaster or an oven, so a toaster-oven would be great, but hazardous, I imagine. The dining room table is comfortable for 4-5 people. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom has a tub. The room was quiet. We have yet to try more of the common areas, such as pool, laundry and gym. Breakfast is standard with plenty of seating. The front desk staff is very helpful, with directions to the nearby pharmacy and food store. The area is very safe. We did not bring a car so cannot comment on the garage.

This location went above and beyond to find me a room. The front desk employee (Bryan) worked every angle he could to make sure he could accommodate me. From the second I walked in, to the second I checked out, I was treated with respect. Definitely an experience that I am not use to. I can not recall his name (Bryan) and I am not sure if there is a way to find out, but the individual that checked me in was awesome. He ensured he found me a room late at night for the duration of my stay. He accommodated the fed rate for me so I didn’t have to pay out of my pocket. This gentleman is a perfect example of customer service! Stayed at the Rosslyn Residence Inn for two weeks beginning of March with my daughter when she was there for a conference/training with the Foreign Service Corps. The staff were excellent and made us feel at home... checking in every day to see if we needed anything and that we were comfortable. Ruth at the FD always had a smiling greeting for us as well as most of the other FD personnel. Meaza managed our room beautifully. Mr. George in maintenance was also a pleasant figure around the hotel as he went about his daily tasks. The area is great for walking with some excellent 'other nations' restaurants around within a few blocks. Certainly Enjoyed some delicious food for the two weeks. The monuments in DC were only a 5-10 min ride from the hotel....directly across the river. the only downside was that the bedroom in the suite was very small.....just big enough for the queen bed which looked more like a full. However no problem....would stay here again

Clock radio made static sounds at night and had to unplug it. Room was at the elevator and right across from the ice machine which was horrible with people using it at all hours! Noisy little kids in the hallway early in the morning. Parents need to teach their children that others are sleeping and to whisper. Housekeeping was also noisy in the hall early in the morning.

At the Arlington Cemetery Station you can also walk across the river to reach the Lincoln Memorial. The center recommends at least two full days, one day on Capitol Hill, the Library of Congress, and walk down to visit the favorite museum. The next day walk from the Arlington Cemetery across the river to the Lincoln Memorial, the Monument, the White House, and continue the museum. In short, it is all about walking.

My family and I recently stayed at the Double Tree By Hilton-Washington DC/Crystal City. I paid a Military Family Rate (listed below) for 2 nights totaling $468.79, and I was expecting for the rate to include complimentary breakfast. Upon arriving to the hotel we were not given breakfast vouchers which was disappointing as I had my family with me and I could not accommodate them with that. In addition, I was trying to get information as to why we weren’t given vouchers and I was given ridiculous information. The customer service representatives at the front desk were not helpful at all. One female lied to me about the breakfast buffet only being $10.00 a person ( I spoke to this female 04-14-23 at around 8pm). I spoke to another female who could not even point to me where it says the rate does not include breakfast (04-15-23 at 7:30am). I believed the female that told me that buffet was $10.00 a person a day prior and I went ahead and took my family to the buffet. When arriving to the buffet we found out that it wasn’t not $10.00 a person, but rather $28.00 a person! For the amount we paid for two nights I would think a breakfast vouchers would be included. I believe it was highly disrespectful, especially for it being a MILITARY FAMILY rate. This was never explained to us or listed anywhere for this rate to not include breakfast so it was in our understanding breakfast would be included. I could not find it anywhere where breakfast is not included and neither the customer service representatives could not show me where it says that. . I am not sure if we were mistreated, discriminated against, or our military service is not something that is respected around here. And it being Washington DC I would think that military services are appreciated.

I went to Arlington, VA recently to participate in Wreaths Across America. I had reserved a room at the Sonesta Select Arlington Rosslyn. I got there on Friday afternoon, checked in and went to the cemetery to spend the rest of the day. When I got back that evening, my sister joined me. We ordered in and had a quiet night in the room. We were up early and checked out by 6:30am so we could get over to the cemetery. We had a great day and a wonderful experience with the Sonesta Select. Imagine my surprise when I looked at my credit card statement on December 31st and there was a new charge for the Sonesta Select in the amount of $250. I immediately went to the Sonesta Select website and inquired what the additional charge was for. I sent a screen shot of my statement showing both charges. (The original room charge on the 18th and the one on the 31st.) I knew with it being New Years Eve, I would not hear back for several days. Imagine my surprise when I received an email yesterday saying the $250 charge was for the room cleaning because we had “trashed the room”!! Now Tim always makes fun of me when we travel because I always make the bed before we leave. I fold the used towels/washcloths and place them on the edge of the tub. True to form, I did just that. I made both beds, tidied the bathroom, emptied the trash cans into the bag that the food we ordered had come in for dinner the night before and even placed the remote back on the TV. I inspected the room before we left to make sure we hadn’t forgotten anything, turned off the lights and shut the door, making sure it locked behind me. I have now sent 3 emails back requesting pictures of the “trashed room” because you know in this day and age, someone took pictures. No response. I have not called them because I don’t trust myself to not get angry or rude with them. I also want a papertrail. I am not sure how to handle this because this is a case of “he said/ she said”. It’s not that $250 is going to break me but I feel totally violated and it’s very shady business. I had planned to use them again next year and was even planning a family vacation there for several days, reserving several rooms…. NOT NOW!! It would crack me up if it weren’t so ridiculous. We are 2 older ladies (55 & 56), hardly party animals. I was so exhausted from all the walking I had done that day and my sister was tired from working all day and then traveling to the hotel, we were both in bed by 8:30pm. So why am I telling you this, because BEWARE!! Obviously your credit card can be charged for anything after you check out. It’s sad that no one will show me any “proof” that I damaged the room and can charge you for anything they dream up. I feel like the next time I stay in a hotel, I am going to have to ask for someone working the desk to come to my room and do an inspection before I leave and give me something in writing that says the room is acceptable.

I know this is not a luxury hotel or anything, as I booked last minute and all the hotels in the DC area were very expensive. It's a basic property, but the staff make you feel at home. I arrived at 6AM after flying all night and the front desk lady kindly gave me the room at 9AM. Throughout my stay they provided outstanding service. The room was a decent size and comfortable bed. Yes, it is an outdated property and has no bells and whistles, but what they lack in that respect, they make up for great service and cleanliness. The complimentary breakfast was actually very good. The hotel is located in a very quiet neighborhood and seems to be an upscale area with lots of restaurants around. Highly recommended for those on a tight budget!
