For me, the greeting you receive at the front desk when you arrive, says a lot about how your stay is going to go. The woman at the front desk was on her cell phone, when we checked in. She was distracted, and not at all the friendly face we like to see. We had booked two rooms, because we were traveling with another couple, and my husband requested the rooms be together...they were not. Our room was on the first floor and our friends room was on the second. The deodorizer they were using for the lobby was overwhelming, and would definitely be an issue for someone who has a respiratory issue. The lighting in the rooms was very dim, especially in the bathroom, where there were only two lights on the side walls of the mirror. There was mildew in the corner of the shower, and our friends drain was so disgusting, they wouldn't even use the shower. When they complained, there was no cleaning person available until the next morning, so they went without a shower for that day. They were given a $5 refund, which to me was inexcusable. When we got back to the room the next day, their drain was still not clean (it really needed to be replaced), so our friend cleaned it himself. They were given a $20 refund for their trouble. Any good motel would have given them the room free for the night in my opinion. We did not eat breakfast at the motel, because we were not confident that the food would have been handled properly. We usually don't stay in Comfort Inns, and so far our experiences have not been good as a whole.

We were looking for a place to stay so we could attend the KC Chiefs game while not being right on top of Arrowhead Stadium. The hotel is easily accessible and was very quiet. bathroom was a little small, including a bit of difficulty closing the door without squeezing between the toilet and the sink. Also, no place in the shower to place soaps, shampoos, etc. Otherwise, the stay was great. Beds were comfortable, the staff was top notch, and the breakfast was very good.

Wonderful hotel stay Aug 2-5, 2019. As I write this, I see some negative reviews. I had exactly the opposite experience. Facilities were immaculate and everything worked the entire time. I did not experience the pool or hot tub, but it seemed the families with kids were having a good time. The staff was exceptional. The hotel was quiet despite some family rowdiness. The breakfast was great. I'm sorry for the folks who had a less than favorable experience. I know this can happen. Perhaps the difference in our experiences indicates that Fairfield/Marriott takes our reviews seriously and tries to fix any problem. I'll stay again.

RESEARCH THIS PLACE BEFORE YOU BOOK IT! Before I continue, I will say that the room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and the grounds and buildings were absolutely stunning. That being said, I will likely never stay here again. To begin, I booked this hotel because it was highly rated, located in Lee's Summit, and after visiting the hotel's site and reading reviews, I thought everything looked very nice. It was not obvious to me what this place was, and Unity really needs to do a better job at being more transparent in their room listings. I turned into the grounds at Unity, and immediately felt like something was off. First, I missed the hotel because the sign for the hotel is right at the entrance of the grounds. I thought this was simply the welcome sign. I didn't realize that the rather small building on the right was the hotel, not the gorgeous, mammoth building to the left. As I drove around, I started noticing buildings were named things like, "Unit Security", "The Bridge of Faith", "Archives", and "Education Center". I started to think, "What is this place? Something isn't right..." There were a few weddings going on, but other than than that, I saw nobody around. I eventually found the hotel, and parked in one of the three parking spots there (there was a lot behind the hotel that wasn't for the hotel?). I went into the hotel, and it was weirdly silent. The desk attendant was very friendly, and instructed me to park across the street. I found this odd, considering there was a lot at the back of the hotel. I moved my car and then re-entered the hotel. In the hall, I saw posters talking about "spirituality" and "unification." Immediately, I thought, "Oh my god. This is like, a weird spiritual place. What have I gotten myself into...?" If I knew what I was getting myself into, this wouldn't have been so unnerving, but the fact that it wasn't really advertised as a "spirutal" location really doesn't sit well with me. Perhaps they intend for the hotel to be separate from everything else, but I would have a hard time believing this due to the reading material in the rooms, the posters in the halls, and the atmosphere all around. I mean... this place was strange. There was a labrynth, a large tower with a "prayer path" around it with pedestals representing one of the "12 powers", classrooms... I researched the community and it seems harmless enough, but it's not exactly something that you want to be surprised with. In addition to the overall feeling of uneasiness, I was woken up by an alarm at 7:30 in the morning. I don't think it was the fire alarm because the alarm in my room wasn't going off. I exited my room and saw nobody in the halls and nobody outside. There was also no smoke in the halls. The alarm stopped after 15-20 minutes. I have no idea what it was, and I was honestly too afraid to ask. There was also a stabbed bible in the room drawer, which

Property is new, so things are still nice and fresh. The ladies the front desk were so helpful and nice both in the evening and morning. The room was not properly tended to. Coffee supplies were depleted, soaps and shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty. When details are missed you wonder about the overall cleanliness of the room. Our pillows smelled like they had not been changed, so we weren’t confident that bedding had been changed and not just straightened. We asked for new sheets and changed them ourselves at 10 pm. Bathroom floors were not clean.....found a bead laying there, so obviously not swept. There was another man at the desk with a cleaning issue when we went down to get sheets. Sad fit a new hotel.

I booked a week long stay at this property through Expedia while my hardwood floors were being refinished. The contractor finished early leaving me with 3 unneeded nights. I contacted Expedia and they called the hotel manager who refused to refund the money for the unneeded nights stating hotel policy. After calling back and speaking with the manager myself he was still unwilling to refund me the money because of hotel policy. This hotel does allow dogs which was nice but so do others in the area. It had been raining a lot so the dog walking area was flooded. Walking around all day in wet shoes was not my favorite. The hotel supplies bags to poop scoop but they were hard to find since they are located behind the hotel. Those folks who did not make it back into that swamp-like dog-walking area or bring their own supplies just let their dogs go wherever - including inside the side door one evening which was super classy. The room itself was okay. There was an extreme amount of air freshener in the room when I arrived that kind of stuck in the back of my throat. I got that it was there to clean up after the last dogs in the room but it took a great deal of airing to get it to a tolerable, breathable level. The orange and brown color scheme was depressing after the first night. I was glad I didn’t have to stay longer I don’t generally pay much attention to others other than to ensure my safety but there were some sketchy folks hanging out in the parking lot that gave me pause. There’s an Arby’s and a Culvers across the parking lot and a variety of other eating and shopping places nearby. Overall the room was fine for the purpose but I’m very glad I didn’t have to stay longer than 2 nights. And the policy not to refund when customers use a 3rd party site to book is just a rip off. I even picked the “cancelable” option through Expedia thinking that would allow me to cancel if I didn’t need the room the whole week but I was wrong. I’ve stayed at quite a few MyPlace hotels in the past couple of years but this experience has soured me on them. This particular location was not as nice as others we’ve visited during our travels following Route 66 and to destinations across the US.

We arrived at Comfort Suites next door to discover that they were closed for renovations. Someone there told us to go to the hotel next door and they would honor our reservations. It turns out both hotels are owned by the same family. The room was clean and fine. I especially liked the extra space they had to set bags on. They were doing their best considering the circumstances, but I think they were overcrowded considering they were supposed to be at half capacity because of Covid. The pool was closed – a good idea considering the circumstances. Breakfast was not that good – an apple, a small granola bar and a bottle of water. We augmented that with donuts and banana bread on sale at Walmart. We would have liked to know that we would need to buy breakfast elsewhere. Also, their sister hotel had no information posted on their door to let us know where to go. If someone hadn’t been there to tell us where to go, we would have been stuck without a hotel. While I’d like to give them a higher rating, the number of things that weren’t satisfying here brings them down to a 3.

This property is conveniently located off 40 hwy and I-70. The family rooms with a big king beg and twin over full bunk beds are unique and fit us well, though it was hard to find anywhere to change clothes and both bunk beds had very little head room. The hotel is still offering a hot breakfast and it was pretty good. There is a nice 1+ mile walking trail around the property which was much appreciated. On the downside, the fitness room is the WORST I have ever seen in any hotel. And that is saying a lot because I have been traveling weekly for over 20 years. It is relegated to a dark and boding corner of the basement and contains two treadmills and one weight machine. No dumbbells. No weight benches. No yoga mats. No medicine balls. No fitness bike, no elliptical. Nada. And, instead of having a water cooler like every single other hotel, the "fitness room" contains a water fountain. In COVID times, that is unacceptable. Super disappointing. Additionally, there was no cleaning service or towel refresh offered despite being there two nights. These rooms are clearly set up for 4 people, yet there were only 3 bath towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 washcloths provided to last 3 days. Lastly, the hotel is LOUD! Be prepared for a herd of elephants to be tromping around above you all night. We would call and complain and it would get quite for a bit, then pick up again until 3-4 am. We had to sleep with headphones in and a pillow over our ears. Ridiculous. There were nice aspects, but I would not return. If you do stay here, stay on the top floor and maybe even bring your own towels and lots of water because there is no where to refill a water bottle in the hotel.

we were visiting family in MO and stayed here two nights. We thought our room was reasonably well updated and attractive. The breakfast was very good and the people working there were super nice. Only one thing left a VERY negative impression: When we entered the dining room, they had FOX NEWS playing. Everywhere on the staff and in the room were people of all colors - brown, black & white. Yet here was entertainment being featured in the room that is totally racist. I couldn't believe it. Please let's work harder keep racism out of hospitality- I never want to see FOX news in a place like this. Thanks

This no smoking, no pet motel is our first choice when staying on the east side of the Kansas City area. We were only 30 minutes from the sites we wanted to visit and the connecting roads were excellent. Going south on Highway 291, we had easy access to Interstate 49. What we appreciated most on this trip was the management's response to a reservation note. Usually we are on the second or third floor. I noted that we were staying with our granddaughter and they gave us a first floor room next to an exit door. The two queen bed room was clean and relatively quiet. We appreciated having the breakfast provided with our granddaughter. We will stay here again!!!
