The Eight Rooms is a basic and nice accommodation, pretty close to the Old Town of Tarifa. Reception is not open 24/7 but Rodrigo, the owner & manager, is present most of the time and always reachable by phone in case of need. Breakfast option is not available at all (but free coffee and tea are a nice detail for the guests) Rooms are essentials (we stayed in the no.7) but fine for, in my opinion, a not too long stay. Cleanliness is okay. There is no mini-fridge and no safe, even if none of these represented a real issue for us. A full length mirror would be appreciated. And I would place also one (extra) bin in the room. The bathroom is spacious enough but maybe not too well organized. The basin, for example, is too small while the shower is pretty large. Free public parking is easy (at least in June) in the streets around the Hostal. Very good value for money. To be honest, 4.5 should be my real rating.

Great location for exploring the Old Town Tarifa and meandering through the streets. No parking on site, a short walk away 19€ For 24hrs. Very basic room, air con efficient as the room we stayed in was very noisy with windows open due to placement of room on busy street. Bed was uncomfortable but sheets smelt clean. Decor is quite out there in terms of colour, vivid green & blue concrete floor, tv didn’t have any reception, WiFi was awful in room I gave up. Toilet is in the very small shower room, obscured glass door didn’t quite shut properly so be comfortable with who stays with you as there is no privacy! “Roof Terrace” is some wooden crates as seating, there was no tea, milk or coffee available whilst we stayed just green tea bags. The host is very lovely and took time to explain the best sights in the local area and recommend the best eateries, marking them on a map, very sweet individual indeed. I would not choose to stay here again as for the very basic standard but high price charged, just my opinion and personal choice.

As I live in Marbella I frequently visit Tariffa and stay and one of the many beach front hotels. This trip I wanted to be in the town centre and stayed at the Hotel CONVENTO and an excellent choice it was too!! Originally an old convent the hotel has been well restored and all rooms are very modern and clean. To be honest they are rather small so I would recommend upgrading to one of their small suites and in August this was only an extra 20€ a night. The hotel is in the centre of Tariffa and everywhere is under 10 minutes walk away. This is a very personable hotel and the owner himself walked us to the garage just 3 minutes from the hotel. For those who want to be in the middle of the historic places, restaurants and very lively night scene this is the place to stay. It could easily be a base for a short visit to Tangier as the ferry port is under an 10 minute walk.

We stayed here two nights. We had the first floor room with a double bed. The sink is in the same room with a barn door that slides open for the washroom and the shower. The room itself was a tight fit and being next to the road, you obviously can hear people talking as they walk by. However the location was very easy to get to the ferry port (5 minutes), and very close to lots of great restaurants. It's about a 15 minute walk from the bus stop (we took the bus in from Seville or if you want to go take a day bus to Gibraltar). Other things like banks, and grocery stores aren't too far off.

The worst hotel experience in Spain, the front desk was no one at 2 pm, but it was not stated on Ctrip. We arrived at night and could not find this hotel. In a narrow alley, navigate The address can only be directed to his main street, and he inquired about several locals before he found it. The door of the hotel was blocked by the local residents' car, thinking that the wrong place was found, the door was closed, and I thought I found the haunted house. The most boring is that the entrance to the main street in the area where the hotel is located is blocked by the locals with mobile isolation piers. If the car cannot enter, you must pull down one of the sticks before you can drive in. In the description of the hotel, we didn't write any details. We were around for more than an hour and didn't drive into the main street next to the hotel. It was windy and rainy at night, and I couldn't go back to the same intersection with the navigation. Finally, Ctrip customer service was coordinated at 10 o'clock in the evening. They found the hotel and waited for nearly 40 minutes before they came to open the door. There were no prompt calls and text on the door of the hotel, it was too pit. It took more than two hours before and after entering the hotel. The room was very tidal, dripping down, the basics of sleep did not sleep well, said that there is a parking lot, ask them customer service, tell me that the city is very small, parking spaces are few, not good stop. The only advantage is that it is three hundred meters away from the ferry terminal. If you go to the ship to Tangier, Morocco, it is more convenient. Ctrip's service is still very good, help me contact the hotel to open the door for me. But I really don't recommend this hotel. I don't write any details. How do foreigners find them? Let's take a look at my photos. In an alley, navigation is useless. There are several other hotels nearby. .

Hostal Gravina is in the perfect location. Beautiful interior design, very Morroccon feel and staff very helpful. However, there is not always someone on reception, you have to phone them if you need any help?! My room was modern and adequate.. a tad on the small side. You step into the room and the bed takes up all of the space. I had to have curtains drawn all the time as there is internal windows opposite bed instead of a wall which leaves you feeling very exposed. Beautiful place, when booking check you don't have room facing internal centre feature. My friends, two adults and two children stayed in apartment Gravina around the corner. Apparently it was damp, cold and did not look modern like on the picture. Definitely was not the apartment booked in booking.com.. very dated. And to get to apartment you have to walk past a big dog sitting in the middle of the path.. uncomfortable.

We took a day trip to Tangier, which was also memorable. But Tarifa was the highlight and really a special place. We're already planning to go back once traveling abroad is safe again. The restaurant/bar was a particular favorite for us. It just all felt like home.

After reviewing my 1st allocated room I returned to reception and enquired about a room change as didn't fancy a balcony view over looking a building site for my short stay as it was not the hotel experience I was looking for. As all sea view rooms were occupied I opted for a pool view at my own expense and I could still just see the sea too so bonus. The rooms I have to say are beautiful, mine was large, spacious, modern and tastefully decorated to a good standard and as previously mentioned in other reviews they do have see through showers which as a solo traveller was not an issue. Within the room was a safe and mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks. The balcony was also twice the size as the previous room. Cannot fault the breakfast, accessible until 11am there was an extensive choice of hot and cold foods. The roof terrace is disappointingly only open on weekends. The pool bar though does delicious cocktails sadly there is no Happy Hour at that bar. The hotel is perfectly situated with easy access to the beach just a 5min walk and 20mins into Tarifa Town which is well worth visiting. The Lances is beautiful hotel in a ideal and practical location for exploring Tarfia.

The beds have a lot of privacy, each having a solid wall on one side and a curtain on the other. There is a socket and light inside each. They aren't crowded into the dorm. It is new and smart, with a well-equipped kitchen. It is relatively central. The Wi-Fi is good. Overall, I was very happy with and would recommend it. (The gripes below are small.) The mattresses are O.K. but not the best. The locker design is poor and you have to leave a deposit even to get one. Being new, not much atmosphere had built up by the time I stayed. The showers are just small stalls rather than separate rooms, and the doors are quite low (also on the toilets) so the privacy is not ideal. The bathrooms seem to have been designed by a short person. It would be nicer if it were within the old town, as some hostels are. It's a little overpriced.

I booked 3 nights at the Meliá Atlanterra by telephone because there was a technical problem with the Meliá web site and I wanted to check what was included within "half board" which the web site failed to disclose. The Meliá call centre explained that "half board" includes "water, beer and wine". I subsequently e-mailed the hotel and exchanged correspondence with several questions. When I stated my understanding that some drinks were included within "half board" and asked whether any other types of drink were included, the hotel neglected to reply, thereby failing to challenge my understanding that at least some drinks are included within "half board". When we arrived at the hotel, we discovered that the Meliá call centre and web site had misleadingly omitted to mention that the hotel charges for car parking in this middle-of-nowhere location at €15.50 per night. When I challenged this, the receptionist replied that this parking charge keeps the published room rates lower. So it's like Ryanair - a low headline price subsidised by additional extras that are added later. But unlike Ryanair which is open about such surcharges at the time of booking, Meliá deliberately keeps them a secret until you arrive. Fortunately you can park nearby on the public road for free, but it's a hassle that guests should not have to put up with when paying the hotel's published prices. Things got even worse. During our first dinner, we were charged for drinks that the call centre had contractually agreed would be included within "half board". I refused to pay these charges, because they were in breach of contract (incumplimiento de contrato). The hotel management repeatedly referred to its unpublished policy of drinks not being included in half board, blatantly ignoring a contract that had been concluded by telephone to include specific types of drinks. The hotel management fails to understand that contractual terms, whether oral or written, override any unpublished policy, and that the hotel had failed to challenge my written understanding that drinks would be included. In law, an unchallenged statement can be understood to have been agreed by the other party. I expect that the hotel management will take the same ignorant and arrogant approach in its response to this review by again quoting its policy and ignoring what was contractually agreed at the time of booking. The hotel management wanted me to speak to the Meliá call centre and get the recording of the phone call listened to, instead of doing this themselves. Then they said that the call centre doesn't keep recordings, despite the call centre having told me on the contrary that they keep recordings for three months. Upon checkout, I refused to pay for the drinks consumed with dinner, as the charges were in breach of contract (incumplimiento de contrato). I paid €1 of the 3-night room charge (of over €500) by an American Express UK credit card to ensure that any breach of contract (incumplimiento de co

Hotel services in general, this four-five-star hotel in this one-month European trip, can be said to be the most unsatisfactory hotel. The room was small and the facilities were some years old. The old man also caught a cold because the hotel's central air conditioner was too cold for the first night. After that, the cough and fever continued for two weeks, and the trip was very painful. In addition, there was an unpleasant experience during the stay, which delayed the two-day trip. Because Ctrip did not write clearly the room type on the order, and the Chinese version of my confirmation form clearly stated the room type and specific information, but the English version did not write, and did not pay attention to the English version before departure, and did not notice, resulting in At the time of check-in, the hotel refused to arrange the room we booked, only to give the standard room, coordination for a long time no results, travel with the elderly at home, and let the elderly wait for a few hours, very guilty. After the hotel manager came out to coordinate, I was willing to provide Ctrip's order to them and agreed that I could take it as a credential to go with Ctrip's feedback. I also suggested that the proof is not their responsibility, and I would like to arrange it as much as possible in the next day. Baggage. From noon to communication at night, too tired, the first time to feedback Ctrip, Ctrip can not coordinate, let us first stay, willing to pay compensation for the next day to change the hotel or can negotiate with the hotel for the room we booked. Yes, the next day, several customer service contacts said that we had to coordinate, we had to wait, and then responded in a few hours. After a few round trips, the next day passed, and our two-day trip was delayed. This service is too difference. After that, the hotel still communicated well when we checked in on the first day, but only arranged a room adjustment. It is impossible to blame the hotel for the order. After returning to China, the complaint was Ctrip and the communication was resolved in the past two months. As an old customer, as a diamond customer, I feel a little disappointed.

Check-in and check-out were easy handled by experience front office staff. Room was big and with basic facilities therein. Overall my stay was quite pleasant and comfortable. However, only two lifts are available for hotel guests and the size of lift is rather small.

The hotel is next to the Weapons Square, opposite the bus station, the traffic is very convenient, you can connect the transportation to and from the return journey, there are small shopping malls and supermarkets next to it, the lobby decoration in the days of stay, but does not affect the guests, the front desk attendant is very polite Patience teaches us how to take the bus, the room is not big, the decoration is slightly old, the hotel is not far from the city parasol, the main church and the commercial street, you can walk on foot, you can go to the Plaza de España and you can do the C4 bus next to the bus station. Go to the airport and take the EA line inside the bus station.
