We are reluctant to leave Sensation House as we’ve had such a wonderful time! It’s a small guest house - very clean , tidy and comfortable. Elisabetta is a very good host , nothing to much of a bother and happy to help with everything . We would highly recommend as close to the Metro. Easy access for all attractions and also we had a couple of days at the beach - metro ticket covered that journey also. Plenty of places to eat close by- The Butcher Shop does amazing burgers and also Osteria Gran Sasso does wonderful local food at a great price - both suitable for families. Thank you again Elisabetta for making our stay so memorable.

The hotel is conveniently location within walking distance of some good food, metro and bus stations, and the Vatican. The room was clean and comfortable and had a lovely terrace/porch. The room had a small TV, AC, mini fridge, and other basic amenities. The breakfast was simple but good consisting of a buffet of yogurt, cold meats and cheese, bread, pastry, cereal, juices, coffee and the like. The staff was very friendly and helpful in giving recommendations for places to eat around the hotel. The deck on the roof was also a lovely spot to relax at the end of the day. It was a good value as compared to the other hotels in the area, especially since it was booked last minute, but it was a little more expensive than comparable hotels in other large European cities.

The hotel indeed has very good location. However, the level of comfort and quality of service are really poor, despite of three stars it has. The single room was too small, bathroom was narrow, thought was clean and tide. However, there were no towel rugs. The furniture was old, the chair was wobbly, my bed was very small with uncomfortable mattress. Moreover, the bed broke down under me at the second night, as it was the frame with folding legs. The one of legs bent out of shape, I merely fell down. I was trying to fix the leg at 5 o'clock in order to continue my sleep. Breakfast was the same all mornings. And what was really extraordinary, the coffee was incredibly bad, so bad, I had not have ever !!! This is absolutely nonsense for Italy !

We were a family of 3 adults and 1 kid hence booked a Quadruple Room. Location: Though the hotel is a bit away(In Bologna) from termini it is well connected by Train and bus (even late evenings like 11PM).We had some luggage and had no issues to reach the hotel in train. Location is less noisy & Safe as well. It has a super market just in front which is convenient. Has a restaurant just below which is a big plus. But if you are first time into Rome you may want to use the Taxi from Airport(65Euros) or chose the Taxi from hotel (Write a mail) for the first time and later switch to public transport Rooms: Spacious and Airy. Clean and hygenic as well. Though you dont have room service (Like Hotels), everything is available and incase needed coordinator is available on phone. Towels Soaps, room cleaning was also upto date. Food: Break fast items are available in the kitchen. You have breakfast food which is needed available. So no complaints. Note: The coordinator is available between 9;00AM to 2:00PM only. But this is NOT a problem at all as everything is available and handy. You will get a mail with code so no worries. Make sure you have communicated (Email or call) for confirmation and code People with car can rent a parking near by (Details will be provided in the confirmation mail) Overall: Good Experience and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is located in the Piazza Bologna which is about 3 kms from the city center. The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to the Bologna metro station - which is RIGHT at the door of the hotel. Metro is the easiest way to travel around the city, thus living so close to the station was was a great convenience. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable. We booked a Quad Room as we are a family of 4 adults. There was one double bed and two single beds accommodated in the room with enough space left over to walk and place 4 trolley bags. The was a refrigerator and a TV in the room and a two-door cupboard. The sheets were changed everyday and the washroom was small but clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was less than satisfactory, as they only has sweet buns/croissants, bacon, cheese and butter/jams, tinned fruit and juices. There were no savory bread, no eggs or any other kind of meat salami which rendered the menu quite limited. A plus about the breakfast area is that its open all day where hot water and cups are available to make your tea or coffee with your own ingredients. Over all, its a small but well-maintained property with polite staff. Great value for the money - roughly 90 EURO per night.

This hostel is located about 3’ walk from the Bologna metro station. There is a supermarket about 3’ away from the hostel so it’s very convenient. The reception opens 24 hours and after 10:30pm, they ask the people in the common area to quiet down so it’s quiet at night. The staff is efficient. We booked a 10 beds dorm but was upgraded to 6 beds dorm. There are no ladder to the top bunk so I don’t get the logic behind this. The room smelled moldy but the bathroom are new. The bed wasn’t the best bed I ever slept on but got me through the night. Pillows were quite flat. I left my earphones on the bed and when I came back and night, they were gone. I told the reception the next day when I checked out since I found out about it when we came back late at night and he didn’t say or do anything about it. To store your luggage is €3 and 3 of us, we have to pay €9. This is probably the most expensive luggage storage I’ve ever paid. If I come back to Rome, probably look to try some other place.

We had 5 days in Dea Roma Inn. Place is very clean and neat. Room was cosy with a small terrace and automatic full shade curtains. Service was very kind though we had difficulties with English-Italian communication. Breakfast was in a caffeteria nearby that included a sweet croissant and cappuchino. Place is meters from the near metro station and you can even hear the trains passing by. Very easy to reach any place of city within minutes. Only disadvantage is that walls between rooms are badly sound-isolated and you can easily hear the neighbouring room. Definitely would recommend and would stay again. Thank you Dea Roma Inn

The hotel has an excellent location in a quiet neighborhood full of nice restaurants for locals and is literally few minutes’ walk from the metro station, which is just three stops from the main rail station (Termini) and five stops from the Colosseum. The check-in was super-fast and the manager on duty (Francesco, if I am not mistaken) was very helpful. We had a corner room (#320), which had two windows facing different directions and hence it was very airy and light. The room size was ok, but we were not planning to spend much time in a hotel room in Rome anyway. The bathroom was not the most comfortable one, however had all necessary amenities, including bath, but not separate walk-in shower and very soft towels. The bed was big enough and was very comfortable. In addition, small fridge with a minibar and a TV. Breakfast was included in the rate and we had a nice variety of cold cuts, scrambled eggs with fried bacon and sausage, water, juices, coffee-machine, selection of cereals and a huge variety of sweets. Although the choice for breakfast was the same for the entire five nights stay. The hotel also has a decent terrace on a 6th floor with few tables to relax and a small gym, although we did not use it. Cons: (i) the breakfast is the same every day, so if you stay more than three days you may get bored with the same choice; (ii) plastic glasses for the minibar and the bathroom; (iii) no walk-in shower. Overall: excellent location, comfortable bed and soft towels and nice breakfast for just EUR362 for 5 nights (though, we were lucky to get special promotion) + the city tax.

Termini Central Station
Perfect location, especially if you arrive from the train station, so you can directly leave your luggage and walk in the biggest open hair museum: Rome! The hotel is very modern and new! The twin bedroom was equipped with all the facilities and spacious and spot clean. The Staff and the property are very well prepared and following the new Covid safety procedures. A special thanks to the reception team, the super funny guy that welcomed me and my friend upon arrival and the amazing lady that was there upon check out. Keep it up with the great job and I’ll see you on my next visit, Ciao

Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived late gone 10pm pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was still open lovely food. Also offered a snack menu if we wanted to eat after 10.30pm. Very lovely bar and chill out areasThe room was immaculate with a very decent bath and shower. Breakfast was continental but plenty of it. 20 minute bus ride into central of Rome. €12.00 euros ticket covers 48hours and can be used on all public transport. We used the bus, train and tram. Restaurants in Rome all charge for sides i.e. veg or salad etc. Eat in the ones way from the main attractions by a couple of streets. Wear trainers as you end up walking alot and pack a travel umbrella. Stayed 2 days and saw loads Night time was a magical atmosphere everything lit up.

Termini Central Station
Though the beds need to be updated, the room was big, and the location was perfect as it was close to the terminal. However, the city tax they charge was quite expensive. The hallway set up was a little confusing at first but not too bad. One hallway was a little creepy though; and the spa seems to open late and close early. The staff were nice and love the rooftop bar.

We travelled as a family of 2 Adults & 2 Children. Most part of our trip to Europe we were all in 1 room, however at Rome we had booked a quad room with connecting doors, and this was amazing for all family members to have a bigger space. Both rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Beds & pillows super comfortable, wifi works great. In the main room there was an amazing space to do your make up each morning with a mirror and lights, lighting needs to be a little brighter but great to have own area. Breakfast was only 9€ and quite a big selection, both of my fussy eaters enjoyed! The waitress was lovely and kind. Walking distance to everything - we chose to walk over the city as everything is walking distance and you get to see more, however HoHo bus stops are close, and walking distance to Terminal train station. I would 100% stay here again, and recommend this hotel to anyone! Also a mention to the staff in reception, who were very kind with check out! Great hotel, stay here!

We were planning a stay in a Rome prior to our cruise and selected The Hassler due to its pre-cruise package - a great deal. We took advantage of the personal assistant at the airport and the hotel transfer and felt like VIP’s. Very welcome after our long overnight flight from the US. The assistant insisted on handling our bags for us and getting us through some airport construction to find our driver. All seamless. We spent 6 lovely nights at The Hassler in early Feb 2020. The staff were so friendly and accommodating from the time we entered the hotel treating us like frequent returning customers. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the Spanish Steps and what a view! A very comfy bed, too. We enjoyed a few meals in Salone Eva and enjoyed great food and impeccable service. Such friendly staff who made certain we were happy with everything from our drink orders to our food. The buffet breakfast was really good, too, with a wide variety of selections and the same service in a beautiful dining room. So many friendly people who pampered us and made us feel like we were the most important people there. We loved their Amorvero body lotion and wish we could buy it online but unable to find it anywhere. Our transfer to Civitavecchia took us right to the cruise terminal and helped us get our bags dropped off with the handlers. All top notch service. We hope to return here in the future to enjoy the luxury of the Hassler. This was the best service we have ever experienced and heartily recommend staying at this hotel. You won’t be disappointed.

Monti
We stayed at the Monti Palace Hotel for a week in September. It is worth saying this was during the coronavirus pandemic so Rome was very quiet although case numbers in Italy were low. Firstly, the positives:- Location - hotel is right on top of the metro station which is very convenient. Note that you have to change at termini for several locations in central Rome. 20 min walk from Trevi fountain or pantheon, 10 mins to forum and colosseum. Small supermarket directly across the street and lots of restaurants in the local vicinity. We had good, cheap food at La Base, Ai Tre Scalani and Iari the Vino. Check in - we arrived at 12:30 and were informed the room was ready - much appreciated after an early start. We were told we had been upgraded to a superior room but that is the room type we had booked (and shows on our booking confirmation) No problem so we didn’t say anything but a bit odd to say we had been upgraded. We also requested a high floor to be away from the road noise and were put on the top floor for rooms. Room - room was a good size and overall very clean. The bathroom in particular was lovely. Housekeeping did a very thorough job each day. Air con was great and the bed was very comfy. But, see below the negative points The not so good things:- Breakfast - was included in our rate (not free included in the price!) it was pretty dire to be honest. I know with covid it is difficult but can’t understand why they couldn’t offer toast (we specifically asked on the form you fill in, in both English and Italian and were given bread), or why fruit such as a banana couldn’t be offered. We had the bacon one day - was the soggiest bacon I’ve ever seen and arrived in less than 2 mins so I assume was microwaved? Conversely the croissants are cold and from a packet. I understand it is a really hard time but I do think they could be doing better. The water and juice was good. Reception - usually very good but I did ask one member of staff if I could pay to print out some tickets for the colosseum we had booked last minute. He said only from 2pm which I thought was very odd (and too late for us!) seemed like he just couldn’t be bothered and his colleague would be on the desk by 2pm. The lift also seemed to smell really bad every time we used it. Light switches - the one anomaly in otherwise a very clean hotel. The light switches were filthy - really disgusting, looked like they’d never been cleaned and this applied to all of them - the two by the bed, the bathroom and by the main door to the room (pics attached). Storage - the room has been designed by a designer rather than by someone who has actually tried staying in the room! We had the largest size of room and it had one single wardrobe maybe 2.5ft wide - with a rail, and two shelves (there was another shelf but well out of reach). Half of one of the shelves was taken up by the safe. There was no other storage in the room other than open surfaces eg. table, bench by door. There wasn’t a si
