A little disappointing to have to pay 4.00 Euros to park in the hotel’s underground car park but it was something we were aware of before arriving & for our one night, not a deal breaker. Checking in was quick, smooth, friendly & informative & within just a few minutes of parking the car, we were in the lift & on the way to our room. Our non smoking room was spacious enough, clean with a carpet floor, entry by room key card & had everything we needed for a comfortable night – double & single bed, wall mounted tv, safe, wardrobe, tea/coffee, full length mirror, dresser/work desk & chair, iron & ironing board, smoke alarm, air con & several spare electrical sockets. Plenty of natural light & no issues with noise from inside or outside of the hotel. The free Wi Fi was very good, easy to connect to, fast browsing & download speeds & did not drop connection. The bathroom was probably not the biggest we have encountered but still ok. It was clean & modern with tiled floor & walls, shower cubicle, easy to control fixed head shower with good pressure & plenty of hot water, large mirror, hairdryer, toiletries & plenty of towels. Breakfast was served from 07.00 to 10.30 & was good. We had a long drive ahead so, an early start & went in at approx 07.30 & had no difficulty in getting a table. Buffet style with a hot selection & continental, there was more than enough to choose from with full fry, scrambled & poached eggs, cereals, porridge, toast, breads, pastries, croissants, bagels, yoghurts, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold meats, fresh fruit salad, prunes, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, melon & pineapple slices, grapefruit segments, tea, coffee, orange/apple/cranberry & tomato juices. There is also a gluten free selection available. We didn’t have time to use the leisure centre but it looked good with a gym, pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi & spa. There are vending machines with snacks & drinks. Complimentary national newspapers are also available. We checked out well before the 12.00 deadline & like checking in, it was smooth, fast & friendly. Location wise, the hotel couldn’t be better placed with all of the shops, bars, restaurants & points of interest in town within easy walking distance. A pity that we only had one night as we were both impressed with this hotel & would return again in the future, if we found ourselves in Wexford & needing accommodation.

We stayed here for one night on a Saturday recently and it was a nice break away from being at home. The food was good here we had lunch, dinner and breakfast and enjoyed all three meals. The service was good and the food was better than I was expecting which was a pleasant surprise. I could not fault anything on the culinary side of things. Our only issue was that we arrived with an early check in and went to the room, it was freezing and I'm not one to suffer from the cold but this was baltic. When I asked at reception we were told the heating comes on at 4pm so that was fine and by the time 5pm came there was still no heating in the room. I tried to contact reception by phone but they would not answer and when they did answer they just took the phone off the ringer and didnt speak to us. I went to reception and was told that the care taker would have a look. He arrived with a space heater (which did not heat the room one bit) and said they schedule was a bit off on this floor but I didnt believe this as the hallway heating was on. Eventually after sometime and manipulation of the radiator controls the heating did come on and all was fine, I just wasnt impressed by the effort of the staff to resolve a simple issue. Its a shame because everything else was perfect.

This stay at Wilton Castle was a dream come true for us. Our host, David, made it just that much more exceptional by sharing the history and taking the time to show us around the older part of the castle. He also prepared an outstanding full Irish breakfast for us in the morning. If I could rate this property (and David) any higher, I most certainly would. The beauty of this property and the grounds is hard to describe in mere words. In soft morning light, bright sunlight, or dusk, the castle is brilliant and the photo opportunities are endless. There is history, tragedy, resurrection and hope in the stories of Wilton Castle. It was an added and unexpected bonus to find out that my family history/ancestry is tied to this very area. It's entirely possible that my ancestors walked these same grounds! With David's wonderful, first-rate hosting, the stunning beauty of the castle, and the breathtaking surroundings of Enniscorthy indelibly stamped on our brains, this is an experience that will stay with us forever.

I had the pleasure of spending a short but enjoyable evening at Perrymount Country Home Bed and Breakfast along with my husband and father. From the moment we first crossed the threshold, we felt nothing but welcomed and valued. Noreen was more than accommodating.Due to an unfortunate situation, we were victims of an unscrupulous travel company and lost all our money and bookings before we even arrived. Noreen honored our booking and the rate we had been quoted, quite generously. She was such a helpful and professional host, we were immediately comfortable and enjoyed both the beautiful surroundings and the warm, cozy atmosphere. Noreen even went the extra length to arrange for lodging for us at another bed and breakfast for the additional time of our vacation and personally lead us to this establishment while we followed her in our vehicle to ensure we had no trouble getting there! If you find yourself needing a place to relax or have a good meal, I recommend Toss Byrnes of Inch Pub which is just a short walk from Perrymount. You can get yourself a pint and a good meal by the fire! Perrymount Country Home is a gem, and the professional excellence paired with the unparalleled compassion of the host, Noreen, make this place a must stay! The unexpected kindness of people like Noreen is the kind of thing that can restore ones faith in humanity. Until we have the great fortune to visit again, I will reflect with satisfaction on my stay with Perrymount Country Home Bed and Breakfast.

Stunning property located in a quiet area surrounded by beautiful gardens. We were fortunate enough to stay in this beautiful guesthouse, and our stay from was flawless from start to finish. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped. The breakfast was outstanding. We were supplied with copious amounts of tea and lovely fresh coffee. The cooked breakfast offered local fresh ingredients. The banana bread was divine. Jo and Jim are just so warm and friendly. They actually exceed your expectations! Jim dropped us off in town without even being asked. They both just can’t do enough for you. Lovely, warm and kind people. If you are in the Gorey area please stay here. It’s simply wonderful! We stayed here for 2 nights b&b. The check in was quick, room was large and comfortable and far away from the bar and any night time noise. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Food was good, but a tad expensive - but not enough to put me off eating there again though. Breakfast was table service, not buffet, but service was quick and the food was delicious. We used the leisure facilities which were good, clean and not overly busy. Staff again very nice. The hotel itself is a few minutes drive outside Wexford and right beside the main route towards Limerick, Cork or Dublin, Belfast if you’re heading north. Overall I couldn’t really fault the hotel or staff. It had everything we wanted, we would stay again and would recommend it to others.

Just finished a lovely relaxing dinner with my husband. Staying in the Ferrybank Campsite. Booked a table for 6pm this evening with a receptionist who was none too friendly. However we came in at 5.50pm to a different receptionist and manager behind the desk and were greeted with a welcoming smile from both. We were shown to our reserved table by the window and offered the menu with an offer of the early bird menu also. We were offered to order our drinks then. A few minutes later Amy came over to take our food order. I asked for a rare steak. Food was brought out and to my slight disappointment my steak was more cooked than I would like. My husband asked Amy to pop down when she got a moment so I could extend my need for a rare steak not a medium. She quickly removed my plate with her apologies and returned it to the kitchen. On her return I had a "walking sirloin" and fresh sides. Food was delivered with repeated apologies and I enjoyed it immensely. I thanked Amy and extended my thanks to Chef. Food was fab once right. Thank you to Riverbank Hotel.

Myself and my partner recently stayed in Glendine and couldn't praise it highly enough. Even before we arrived,Tosh and Anne were wonderful hosts, recommending local restaurants and attractions. On arrival we were greeted to a pot of coffee followed by a surprise bottle of prosecco arranged by my partner in my room. The house itself is a most beautifully elegant country house with an abundance of old age charm. Its surrounds include a selection of wonderful animals and the beautiful sea. Breakfast was beautiful and appropriate bookings available. Staff were so friendly and the wonderful Eimear must be mentioned who forever had a smile on her face! We felt so safe during Covid times and will certainly be re-visiting again!

I visited Metropole Hotel with my family during our last vacay in Greece. It was the first time that we visited this part of Greece and we are really satisfied with our hotel choice. Everyone who works in the hotel is really friendly and helpful, providing tips about the near beaches as well as restaurants or "taverna" in the local area and in Litochoro. Both of the rooms that we booked were clean and quite throughout the day. Also, the breakfast was quite good, the best start for our days. I would recommend this family business as a place to stay and relax during your holidays and definitely great as value for money. Thanks for everything once again!

We stayed in The Maryborough Hotel in Cork (just before Covid-19) and it was the most relaxing, joyous experience. For my job, I travel to many hotels but this is definitely my favourite. It is my place to go to totally relax, be surrounded by fun, welcoming and helpful staff and visually, it is beautiful to be surrounded by gardens, flowers and billowing trees. The deluxe rooms are divine, with large glass doors and a terrace outside to sit and enjoy nature. The spa treatments are divinely relaxing and the thermal suite is dimly lit and has a warm, thermal pool to ease the body and mind. A wonderful way to finish your evening is to dine in Bellini's Restaurant in the hotel. A very special thanks to Mia Walsh, the Manager who goes over and beyond to help you in any way possible and who makes the experience so enjoyable. Also, a special thanks to Katie in reception and Martina in Bellini's Restaurant for their professionalism and friendliness. I stay here on a regular basis and it is always a huge pleasure. I would highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to returning again after Christmas.

Nestled in the heart of Cork city, arriving thru the gates of Hayfield Manor is like stepping through a porthole. Away from the busy streets of Cork city yet right in the middle of the city, Hayfield Manor is a step away and into a world of relaxation second to none. The impeccably kept grounds that welcome you to the Manor give a true sense of anticipated relaxation, the typical Cork welcome by the doorman reinforces this. The building itself is beautifully furnished in traditional style while still being fit for it purpose of hospitality. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the room was very well presented. Only downside was the Shower/ Bath facility in the Bathroom which needs to be upgraded to modern walk in shower rather than the old shower over bath. The bar and restaurant facilities were excellent, and the staff were second to none. The staff’s knowledge was impeccable regarding the food they were serving both on content and cooking methods which made the whole dining experience wonderful. Also, the staff were happy to relate what dishes on the menu were new and the fact that they were interested in feedback regarding them. Simply put the dining experience was wonderful. Overall, our two-night stay was very enjoyable, made so by the wonderful staff who did everything to make it so and make sure guests were kept as safe as possible during the pandemic.

It was my husbands 50th birthday party last weekend and we had chosen the Charleville Park hotel. We were absolutely thrilled. I was worried as we had guests arriving from all over the world, many used to five star service. Charleville Park and it’s staff exceeded our expectations. Professional and friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us. The food was superb. My husband is South Africans so I asked them to make a special Durban dish - Bunny Chow ( picture below) . It was amazing! So authentic. I also requested baked Alaska, as it’s my husbands favorite dessert and even though it wasn’t on the option list, they came up with the most delicious baked Alaska I’ve ever had. Throughout the night my guest kept commenting on how good the food was! Sheila couldn’t do enough. Padraig was the perfect host and a big shout out to Nicole Earls who anticipated my every need. She even took some photos and video and airdropped them to me! Josh in the residence bar put up with our singsong until way past our bedtime, always with a smile. Couldn’t recommend them enough. Bravo all! We will be back for our next event.

Just arrived home from a family/girlie weekend in this fabulous City or Cork where the weekend could of been horrific after a lockdown! This hotel and it's super friendly, on it staff made our visit harmless under the circumstances that were surrounding us. From the start of our welcome to the clean comfortable rooms that had fridges, fluffy towels, ironing board, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and if you were fortunate a room with a view, to the super friendly staff! Big shout out to our new friend Majella who welcomed us at morning breakfast with her Irish wit and sense of humour...adorable and couldn't do enough from accommodating our needs to advice as to where to visit. This hotel is open and modern and just a short walking distance to the City centre and situated right on the river Lee Bus station around the corner. When and not if I and my friends come to Cork again (already looking for an excuse), we will definitely be coming back here! One criticism...we were on the 4th floor and could overlook the atrium, they need to dust their Golden Balls!

It is a typical family hotel in Europe. The landlord seems to have 2 buildings with a backyard for use as a hotel, small-scale operation, can not expect too high. The general impression is as follows: 1. The hotel is clean and tidy, the room is not big, it is OK. 2. Basic equipment and small bathroom. 3. Good location, opposite the University of Cork. 10-15 minutes walking distance from downtown. 4. The price does not include breakfast, 128 euros, a little expensive. 5. Breakfast is paid for 9 euros, but the food is too limited and worthless. I suggest you buy it yourself. 6. Because I didn't have a room type, I was given an apartment, so I brought the kitchen.

We arrived on Friday night on 6th of March it was just short of midnight. It was a break away for my fiance and our daughter to visit two terminally ill family members. We were welcomed by lovely night staff who were very helpful and friendly and very swift with our check in. When we got to our room we noticed a sign on the door which said room free for servicing but we tought it may have been a mistake. We went into the room and it was absolutely filthy towels on the floo in the bathroom dirty cups all over the place smelling of cigarettes smoke and this was at the start of the COVID pandemic. We went and spoke to night staff and again were very helpful and gave us a beautiful clean room. Following morning after a good sleep we went for breakfast and the restaurant was very poorly lit in my opinion but the food looked good.it was self service for my coffee so as I took the mug on the table it was full of tea stains absolutely disgusted I decided to take a look around the juice area and the glasses there were also filthy. I was absolutely disappointed more to this dirt in a 4* hotel. The food tasted absolutely good. After we ate breakfast I asked to speak to the duty manager who to my disappointment turned out to be who I believe was the restaurant manager on duty at this time. We sat and she did listen to my problem where she went on to offer us complementary meal which was absolutely beautiful top marks. The chefs are wasted in this hotel. We felt that we were fobbed off with a free meal. So I tried to contact the General manager and she was off so on the Monday after we arrived home I sent the manager a complaint and the manager was quick with her response saying she would investigate and as off the 30th of March I have not a response I understand the covid pandemic more so why the hotel should have been cleaned properly.

Stayed at Cannaway B&B for 3 nights while in Cork. The location is great for day trips to explore Cork County and the place itself provides for an authentic country-mansion style of a B&B experience. As many reviewers have mentioned, the property and the grounds are stunning and our hosts were super-friendly and helpful. Granted, running a place like this is very demanding in terms of effort, time and money and there is a tremendous amount of attention to detail that make the place truly memorable. As recent reviewers have mentioned, there are a couple of students helping out this summer and they are pretty much in charge of all guest services (i.e. room cleaning, serving breakfast, etc.). Although we spent the days outside visiting other places, we pretty much enjoyed our stay and slept quite well while there. We had the largest (family) room on the first floor and it is the only one without an en-suite bathroom. Its private bathroom is huge and right across the hallway, which made showering and occasional visits in the evening or early morning hours a bit more cumbersome when other guests were outside. Having said that, the room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean. As other reviewers have remarked, the breakfast is relatively unassuming but you get to choose how you want your eggs done. The only true letdown however was the cleanliness of the tableware at both the coffee lounge upstairs and the breakfast table. There were stubborn food remains on almost all the cutlery and dishes and we had to regularly ask for clean ones at breakfast. I'm guessing this could be due to an overloaded, improperly loaded or malfunctioning dishwasher, as we have observed in other larger hotels as well. Overall a very nice place for a quiet and relaxing stay and with a little more attention to the aforementioned breakfast quality and tableware cleanliness, it would be just perfect!

My husband and I celebrated a significant birthday this weekend with a Mini-Moon package at the Vienna Woods. Although we are both from Cork, neither of us had ever been to the hotel before. Our experience was beyond compare at every stage. The hotel is charming; a delightful blend of old and new. Decor is tasteful and appropriate. Everything was spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was magnificent. The dinner was outstanding with an excellent menu that delivered way beyond expectation. Breakfast was superb, offering a vast range pleasing both the healthy and the treat agendas. Above all though, the service was heartwarming. It felt like a family had opened their home to us. Darren guided me through the booking. His advice was welcome and spot on. Marcin and Encarna served our amazing dinner with aplomb and style. Thank you Encarna for decorating our table with a big bunch of "Happy Birthday" balloons! Shulagh's attention and smiles at breakfast were a wonderful start to the day. And Susan at reception was so graciously accommodating in every way. Thank you to you all for making our stay in your very beautiful hotel so memorable. Highly recommended. We can't wait to return!
