Stayed for 3 nights in a four bed dorm room 101, with an ensuite bathroom. On checking in, you’re given clean sheets for the bunk bed. A sheet for the mattress, pillow covers and a large sheet (not a duvet) to go underneath the blanket. In room 101, the bunkbeds are custom made and each is independently attached to the walls. This makes for pleasant sleeping as it doesn’t shake whenever your bunkmate moves. The mattress is covered with plastic sheeting, which I really hate because they make me hot and sweaty. The fitted sheets go the mattress, the other sheet for the blanket is not a duvet cover i.e. the blanket simply sits on top of the sheet, this annoyed me as well. I’d rather not touch the blanket. Although there’s more than enough space for four bags, there's only two cupboards with two locks, so I don’t see how four strangers could share two. The dorm has a separate toilet and shower, plus two sinks. Which is obviously a good thing. Though both the toilet and shower are “boxy”. I could just squeeze into the toilet. The bathroom is slightly bigger, but is quite small by most standards, although it was fine for me as I’m quite slim. The Wifi can be intermittent at times. Inside the dorm room, Wifi can be unusable at times. Outside, the connection cuts off then comes back after about a minute. The hostel has fantastic common area with books and games, the outdoor part of the common area has outdoor seating and also great views of the Belfry, which looks like it’s directly above the hostel. Breakfast was included in the price and it’s pretty decent by hostel standards. A few cereal options, plus bread, jams, cheese and meat slices to eat. Tea, coffee and juices for drinks. Location wise, the hostel is only 5 minutes walk to the Grand Place and about 15 minutes to the main train station.. Mons is pretty small anyway and most of the attractions are within easy walking distance. Overall I had an above average stay, but I didn’t like the sheets and the poor Wifi annoyed me.
