This is an exceptional hotel with amazing staff, food, rooms and facilities. The spa area and pool is the best in the area and beyond. Staff are attentive and with customer experience at the centre of their minds. Even when the hotel is busy, the vast relaxation rooms and areas mean you can always find a private and quiet space. staff also work hard to maintain the spaces clean and with towels, refreshments and products. All facilities are new or being renovated to an extremely high standard. The restaurant offers locally produced high quality products and the pastry section for deserts is amazing. Tried a new treatment (cranio sacrale) this time. The treatment was wonderful and left me feeling energised and clear minded. Cristina the therapist was gentle and very knowledgeable too. I stayed in the suite, it was spacious and very comfortable, as my husband enjoys time in the room and space to relax this was a good decision and the views from every window were wonderful. I come to the hotel at least once a year on my own, with friends or for a romantic getaway, it always meets my needs and I can't thank the wonderful staff enough, they work really hard to make it a special experience every time.

We have visited Hotel Garden Terme several times with our young children, each time meeting family and friends living in Europe. The kids absolutely loved the hot spring fed pools and played for hours in them. There are a variety of health services available for men and women, provided by well trained and friendly staff at reasonable costs. Meals are wonderful. Having breakfast on a garden patio with the sun rising and a vast array of pastries, meats, cheese, breads and croissants to choose from was sinful. Dinner was always informal but with a touch of Italian/European elegance. The rooms were lovely, well sized and with everything needed. The Garden Terme property is large enough that street noise is never a problem. Finally, the staff was friendly, well trained, multi-lingual and very polite. There were events organized to celebrate certain holidays, activities for kids, board games available in the game room.... I could say more but I would run out of space. A few more things: city market is mns away walking; Padova is about 20mns by car and Venice 45mns by train. The only caveat is that Many Europeans take vacations at the same time. This means that the French concentrate during a few short weeks, followed by Germans, Austrians, etc.... and the management is very accommodating - food wise and custom wise. Just be aware of that when picking a time to visit. We stayed at Garden Terme at least 4 times and will likely return.

Eye-filling design of public spaces including the pool area and the front yard. Amiable and helpful staff. They organized us a comfortable and inexpensive transfer from/to the airport. Superior singles are spacious with stylish furniture but located on the 2nd floor and have no balcony, so it’s a problem to dry swimsuits and towels. Doubles are on the upper floors, rather small but have balconies, some of them facing the Hills and the Dome - this view is really splendid! The furniture is new. The wifi is fast and stable. The thermal pools are large with enough number of sunbeds around, open from 8 am till 11 pm, a wonderful schedule! Breakfasts are basic (good bake but a great lack of fresh fruit and vegetables). Lunches and dinners offer a more manifold choice of dishes including seafood but very simple desserts. It always took a lot of time to have our meal, because the waiters were very slow, except one senior lady. The fixed dinner time at 19.30 is not quite convenient if you come back from your trip to Venice or Padova. But it is reasonable to book half/full board at the hotel as there are almost no cafes to dine out in Montegrotto and no supermarket to buy any provision. The hotel is a 10 min walk away from the train station to travel to Padova (15 min), Venice (50 min), Monselice (8 min). A bus and touristic train stop to Abano is quite near the hotel. There is absolutely nothing to do in the town after 6 pm, so special dinner events arranged at the hotel on Sundays and Wednesdays (traditional local food, live music and dancing) are some kind of entertainment for elderly guests.

This was no doubt a grand and elegant place 20 years ago. The physical structure is still quite incredible. But there are signs of stress that are showing up in the overall quality. To sympathize, the costs for the spa area, upkeep on an aging hotel, and taxes on this large of a property must be astronomical. Breakfast: I've had better in $60 a night hotels. The "Americano" coffee was a carafe of instant coffee made with some sort of powder. The scrambled eggs were meager and likely instant. The cold cuts were average. For carb addicts, the bread and pastries looked good. Dinner (free with coupon deal): Very good. Salmon was delicious. Desert buffet was very good. Service was also good. There is an appetizer and salad bar, and 15 minutes after they opened several items were gone and nobody was replacing them. The salad bar is fairly basic. For example, there were not any artichoke hearts for the salad. The table is set with a full array of silverware, and it might be good to figure out what fork to use for what. Dress for dinner: They don't tell you in advance, but it's expected that you wear fairly decent clothes--what they call "business casual" in the States is fine. For a man, a sweater with a collared shirt, decent pants, and leather shoes is OK. Room: It's quite small, feels dated, and it's adequate. Nothing spectacular. For example, the basic supplies in the bathroom are nothing special. The pillows are not high quality. In other words, you can go to other hotels that are not "five star" (whatever that means) and have just as nice of a room. Spa: Mille Pini hotel has much better water from the tap and in the soaking area. Your skin will feel silky. Here, at the Grand, the water is heavily chlorinated. It smells very strong from the tap. My skin was dry as a bone coming out of the public pool area. Although it looks nice in pictures, the actual quality of the water is not extraordinary. Fitness Facility: The equipment is virtually unused. There's some weights, treadmills, and a multi-machine. Service: The staff seems rather stressed out. I don't get a relaxed and friendly vibe from them. A guy opened our room door without knocking and my wife was half naked. He might have been there to replenish the water in the refrigerator. He just closed the door and left without speaking. Other: Many Germans were here. German, English, and Italian are all spoken.

The hotel is really classic Italian (throw back to the 1980s) but immaculate and has all the amenities of a modern hotel. The hotel is huge. We had been to the spa only in the summertime, and this was our first stay at the hotel winter time. Roberto Corso, at the front desk graciously received us and made sure that we were satisfied with our appointed room. Kudos to Roberto for his professionalism and warmth that really made us feel welcomed. The spa and pools are opened till 11 PM. It was absolutely magnificent swimming outdoors in the thermal pools, lit up in the densest fog at 6 degrees C. The atmosphere was relaxed and the crowd was mostly young. The hotel must be very popular with locals, there were very few foreigners around. There are also many a curative treatments and massages that we saw offered. The price is right including breakfast. The breakfast was good, no fresh fruits or veggies though, lots of baked goods, meats and cheeses and the usual cereals and juices. The service was very good and I'd love to come back here again summertime too. The outdoor pools are fabulous.

We spent the day in the Spa. This is a gem and a wonderful place to unwind. We spent all day relaxing in the sunshine and then swimming in this wonderful swimming pool at the foot of a hill immersed in nature. Then the sauna, the Turkish bath helped us relax even more. The surroundings at night are magical, especially when the pool becomes full of changing colours in the moonlight. Amazing.

I chose this property due to its proximity to Venice and to the Italian rail system. Access to Venice and Florence was extremely easy and allowed my wife and I to visit both cities with ease and comfort. I found the property to be a spa resort with many other positive attributes after arriving. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the Venice area.

Yesterday I visited this hotel but just to use the spa area. I paid 15 Euros and was able to use the two thermal pools (indoor and outdoor),steam room and relaxation area around the indoor pool. There are lockers around the indoor pool and stands where you hang your bathrobes. You can't leave things on the loungers and I agree with that as it stops people occupying them all even when they're not using them. There is no bar in the spa area, only three machines for drinks. There are no frills here but if all you want to do is relax, then that's fine. The price is right and drops to a very reasonable 10 Euros a day on weekdays. If you arrive by train, it takes less than five minutes from the platform to the reception. It did the job for me.

An oasis of wellbeing, this family run residence set in lovely grounds with Roman ruins is a very good find. It is unique, in what it offers; spacious, tasteful, elegant interiors, warm homely environment, good cure facilities with professional and personalised services. The food is good and the staff very pleasant and helpful. It is a work of love and passion: the mother and son are present tirelessly ensuring all is well. I had that priceless sensation of being at home and cared for. I was sad to leave. The effort is outstanding. The cure and the stay did me a world of good: it was therapeutic. My heartiest congratulations to the Tognin family and staff for their great work and my best wishes for their future endeavours.
