0.77km from M. EstelHotel is clean, located near to the big train station and therefore it was easy to get everywhere from there. Nice breakfast with several choices of bread, cheese etc, nothing warm to eat like porridge or fried eggs. Coffee is okey but not great. Family rooms have kettle on the picture which we did not have in our room, also we didn't have fridge which my parents had in their double room. No air conditioner. Bar downstairs is a very nice thing to have. Can have coffee or beer whenever you like. Reception was very helpful and nice. Overall we liked our stay very much there.
0.88km from M. EstelI contacted AC Hotels about wanting to make my anniversary celebration special from the moment we arrived, as well as ask for recommendations on where to eat, what to see and so on. The girls at the front desk Carina Remes and Izabela Chrobak were extremely helpful, they gave me recommendations, organised roses and chocolates for the room, and in general were such exceptional host. Nicoleta Bujicu, the food and beverage manager, personally organised Prosecco for the room and ensured our breakfast and stay was a delight. The hotel in general is very pretty, a chic and simplistic design through out (with some landscape art pieces). It is clean, the breakfast is fresh and it is located just minutes away from the U and S trains, allowing us to travel to our various interest and recommendations within minutes. Thanks again Carina, Nicoleta and Izabela, for making our stay so memorable, we shall be back. Best wishes for 2020 Christina & Leah

1.09km from M. EstelHaving stayed here before and been very pleased, we were sorry to be very disappointed this time. Due to staffing problems, the restaurant and bar were both closed for the duration of our 3 night stay. The facilities we required, were therefore not available, and not as advertised, when making the booking. I complained and asked for some form of compensation, like free breakfast, but was told they could not do that as breakfast was available. I then asked for half price breakfast, but was told no, management will not do that, as its available, they said they would leave something in our room, instead. On return to our room, they had left two bottles of beer, a bag of crisps, a bag of nuts and a small bowl of fresh fruit. That was all we received, just that one evening. Nothing on the other two days we were still there. It did spoil our holiday, as we then had to leave the hotel to find food for lunch and evening meals and to find a bar that was open, instead of being able to enjoy the hotel I had booked and its facilities, as advertised. The bistro attached to the hotel was kept open, but this just serves coffee, cakes, sandwiches etc, which is where the chefs were to be found, being a fast food snack option for tourists, instead of the hotel residents comfort, meals and expectations being priority. It was very disappointing, as having eaten in the restaurant inside the hotel on our last visit, I knew the meals were good, and was looking forward to them, and the bar and restaurant terrace is very nice, but we could not experience it this time with it being closed
1.13km from M. EstelI booked 4 days in Berlin using Black Friday Discount for Easter, because of Covid-19 , I had to move the booking so Melia made me pay £110 more becuase the rates or I would lose the money already paid. I have been checking quite often the offers for this hotel on the website and I discovered that Melia have the 45% discocunt for Black Friday and for all year. There is not Black Friday Discount, is the discount they have all year. I paid a total of £120.00 per night, totally overpaid. I wasn't my option to change the booking, firstly I booked for Easter, but because of the lookdown I had to move the booking. Totally unfair the overcharge. One day it was raining we arrived at the hotel and we asked for a coffee in reception. The receptionist told us that the bar was closed, so we went to the next hotel (Titanic Hotel) where we had our coffee. No Sauna or Gym because of Covid-19. The room was fine, just soap in the bathroom, poor room for the price I've paid. The breakfast was poor, not so many options, the last day no eggs available. The worst experience of my life. Horrible. Melia is not going to have me as a client anymore.
1.24km from M. EstelHotel indeed looks like on official pictures and has a great location. Check in was flexible and fast. Be aware you need to pay deposit, we overlooked this information. Bedroom and bathroom were nice, but the shower preasure is really bad (at least in our room, number 606). Breakfast is lovely, tables are beautifully set, plenty of choice, good service. Restaurant "Pascarella" is amazing, beautiful looking, nice music in the background, lovely service (at least 1st day, 2nd day, different people, not that good) and most important, food is amazing, everything was exceptional. Bar "Charlotte" is nice but the service is way to slow considering there was only few people in it. Spa area, pool, massages, all of that was fantastic. One more thing, we've noticed group of Turkish men (gang looking) all the time in the hotel, bar area, lobby area, in front of the hotel, loudly discussing all the time, I don't know, it just gives this feeling of suspicious business going on around/in the hotel.
1.32km from M. EstelOcak (January) was a very pleasant surprise for our 4 days stay in Berlin. My wife’s criteria for choosing it was the bath tube and the private parking. And as we arrived we realized that was a wonderful choice. The rooms are spacious, queen size bed comfortable (much appreciated the extra pillows), more than decent wardrobe, a small kitchenette that we didn’t use, cozy living area and a generous bathroom with a pretty big bath tube. Everything clean & tide. Also a safe is available for your valuables. Parking place was the other surprise. As we were traveling all the way to Finland, our car was loaded with luggages. And Ocak has a perfect safe place in the i underground parking in which the access is done by elevator (the whole process takes about 4-5 minutes). The elegant restaurant was the perfect place for the variated breakfast (delicious and fresh). U fortunately it was not opened for dinner, and same for the bar (that had a good selection of drinks) because of the Covid situation. In less that a km you will find restaurants, a shopping mall and also a train and underground train station which makes the access to the touristic attractions (plenty) l very easy. We were delighted to find out that the hotel is owned by a turkish living in Berlin (and you can see in this in the attentions for details, architecture and guest oriented attitude) and that the employees - extremely helpful, kind & friendly are also turkish (delighted as Turkey is our souls home country, and if Covid kept us away from it, Ocak did a great job to makes us feel a little bit like being there). If there is something more that I would like from this hotel, that would be a balcony (as a smoker) and a minibar. But this won’t keep us away from returning here very soon and to highly recommend this wonderful location. Thank you Ocak for existing and for making us feel like home!
1.4km from M. EstelI've stayed in i31 many times. This was my first time back in a couple of years. The staff at the front-desk were helpful and friendly as always, and the room was comfortable and I slept well thanks to the quiet courtyard view. A few issues I noticed compared to my previous stays: - The rooms are beginning to show a bit of age, I noticed a little wear and tear, and spotted some hairs on the bed sheets and carpet. - The bath products in the bathroom aren't the same high quality Malin and Göetz brand that they used to carry. - The worst change was the breakfast. It was really subpar, and a shame given they used to have a great breakfast. I don't know if this is related to COVID-19 cuts, or something that predates the current crisis. Regardless, I ended up not paying for breakfast and just eating at café's nearby. I'd still stay at i31 again, but I'd also consider other options in light of the breakfast cutbacks. The courtyard is wonderful to sit in in the afternoon, and the place is still pretty clean even with the slight wear and tear in a few corners of the room. Great location for exploring Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg, easy access by tram to Berlin Hbf station, short taxi ride to Tegel.
1.4km from M. EstelHotel is in great location; close to U- and S-bahn stations. Easy to travel from/to the airport (Tegel) as well. Seemed to be a pretty quiet neighbourhood, but there are some markets, kiosks, coffee places etc nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a family room which was spacious for four people, had a large bathroom and also a balcony. Kitchen didn't have much of forks, knives, pans etc but pretty much all you need. Room and the hotel was clean and in pretty good shape. Sofa bed was not comfy at all and street noice was pretty loud to the bedroom which was in street side of the hotel. That's pretty much all the negative aspects that I can come up with.
1.41km from M. EstelStayed for 3 nights in this hotel in September 2020. Prior to this hotel I stayed in other Mercure hotels during the Covid-19 period and surpisingly all of these Mercure hotels have different standards. Check-in was fast and it was very kind that the room was available ample before the 3PM official check-in time. I was told that cleaning was not possible during the stay (due to Corona), however in the room was a card which mentioned that it is possible at request only. The room itself is nicely decorated but in terms of amenities defenitely not at 4 star level. The duvets (single duvets for a double bed) are on the small side, towels could be bigger and even no cups in the bathroom. No coffee and tea making facilities either due to Corona. I did not see an ironer and iron board. Bathroom is a bit outdated with small white tiles but okay. Shower gel/shampoo in a wall mounted flacon instead of the tiny tubes I saw in other Mercure hotels. Breakfast is good. It is still a buffet and you have to wear gloves (will be distributed) and a facemask when collecting your items. Obviously there are not as many items as in pre-Covid times. You can still order fried eggs, omelette (but no pancakes) and I got even a fruit plate but this was not mentioned to me. You have to figure it out by yourself. The staff are friendly but could be a little bit more proactive. What I generally do not like is that the decreased level of service/amenities (comparing to other Mercure hotels I stayed) are blamed on Corona but I have the impression that these are cost saving measures, because harldy any alternatives were given. A great example I encountered in another hotel is that because it had removed the coffee machine from the room, it had installed an expresso machine at the entrance of the hotels which you could use for free of course. So my recommendation for the hotel: use a bit more creativity and offer alternatives for the services which are not possible due to Corona. Location of the hotel is good: next to U Bahn stop Naturkundemuseum and there is also a tram stop in front of the hotel.
1.42km from M. EstelWhat a fabulous haven of loveliness in a great spot in Berlin. - very warm & friendly welcome - Great Garden Room with private terrace set in beautiful garden space with fish pond - gardens so well layed out & lovely to look at - waking up to birdsong is a wow factor - Breakfast is fresh, plentiful, varied & very good value for money ( cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, good variety of bread & rolls, fabulously crispy croissants, meats, cheeses, hot buffet, juices, tea coffee ) - could not fault it in any way - staff brilliant at helping with travel & directions as we explored Berlin - 5 mins from train & tram stops albeit we walked almost everywhere - decor is amazing & all public areas in hotel decorated with traditional charm & character to match the building - location excellent with many great coffee shops, restaurants, cafes on the doorstep. Huge thank you to the team at The Garden Boutique - we had an absolutely unforgettable experience staying with you & exploring Berlin - BIG thank you to Maxi the Cat for being so handsome & adoreable
1.47km from M. EstelWe stayed here for two nights while attending a festival nearby. The check in process is done through a machine out the front which we couldnt find our reservation on and had to call for help anyway. We were on the third floor room 302. The room was basic but clean. It can be quite noisy as the room faces out onto the entrance where the door slams closed and youre above where most people congregate. It was too warm to close the window as there was no air conditioning. The bathroom was decent size however the door of the shower allowed for water to spill out onto the floor. Wifi is free but didnt really work for us and kept disconnecting and there was only sky sports on tv which was in english. We didnt eat in the hotel so cannort comment on the food. Housekeeping offered us fresh towels each morning.Very little contact with any staff other than housekeeping
Hotels Near M. Estel In Berlin Review
Breakfast is okay, but it is still more monotonous than the domestic hotel. The location is very good, the entrance is the Potsdamer Platz, there is also a subway station, the Brandenburg Gate, the Parliament Building, the Berlin Shopping Center are very close, and there is a Mobai at the door, very convenient. There are also other companies sharing bicycles with children's seats, but the QR code can't be scanned. I don't know how to use them, but the hotel has a bicycle with a child seat for rent, 30 euros a day, 15 euros a day. To the northwest of the hotel is a large Tiergarten park, which is in a good environment with trees, grass and water.
Stayed here back in December last year, for a long weekend for the christmas markets before all the covid stuff had kicked off. We had hoped to return this year but due to the ongoing pandemic, its probably going to be 2022 now. The hotel is located in the East of the city. We flew in Tegel and found it a long , inconvenient journey but our return flight wasout of SXF which was much more convenient so the hotel will be pretty convenient for the new Berlin airport which opens soon. The lobby was spacious, trendy and contemporary as were the guest rooms. Our room was quiet though 2 of the lads we were travelling with had rooms overlooking a trainline, so request rooms away from trains. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and we slept well . Everything felt very clean. We booked a hotel with spa facilities so had been expecting an indoor pool! disappointed that there was not one in the hotel however they did have a really relaxing spa area that had a hot whirlpool aswell as the usual saunas , so that was a nice way to chill out in the evenings after a long, cold day in Berlin! Please note however, its strictly trunks off. You have to use the area completely naked , which they say is for hygiene reasons. Although this was a little out of my comfort zone it did not detract us from enjoying the facility, I felt more embarrassed about my friends who i was travelling with having to see me naked though since we were sharing rooms we all owned up to sleeping naked anyway which no longer made it a big deal but for some guests particularly ladies it might be out of your comfort zone, so just making you aware, as its a mixed sex facility though was mainly men the two occasions that we used it which made it a little less awkward!. Breakfast was an extensive buffet which is free and had a great selection of hot and cold food that we thought was above average for a hotel buffet. Its very accesible for getting into alexanderplatz on the tram. Berlin is one of our favorate European cities, its cool, quirky and there is so much to see and do at anytime of the year. This is a great hotel and we look forward to another long weekend once all this horrible covid stuff is over. Staying safe and positive for now because we know that one day we will travel again!!!
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a city break. The hotel itself was ok, it was clean it was functional without being anything special. It was a little dull is how I would describe it without anything being really wrong. The staff were fine without being friendly. The lobby is poorly planned and the staff are locked away being big columns which are terribly placed. Two criticisms, one was that the lift was out of order and hence left one lift to cater for 4 floors and during Covid times the lift was always busy and long waits were standard. The second was that the bathroom had a glass panel from the room which let light in but overlooked the toilet and I thought it a little inappropriate that someone in the room could easily watch you doing a number 2 the other side of the glass. Not ideal. For these two reasons I gave it a 3 out of 5. Poorly designed. But the location was 10/10. 100m from Checkpoint Charlie and the Topography of Terrors. Lovely pub opposite side of the road.
Our room on the 13th floor was standard category. Spartan in decor, purely functional in layout, the room was clean, the tv worked and it had a minibar plus good view . No tea or coffee making facilities but that might just be a Radisson feature. However, when I needed help in checking in on line for a flight home, the wonderful lady at the Customer Relations desk was just amazing. I never established her name, but think her surname was 'Williti'. She is absolutely a gem and patiently managed to get us check-in with EasyJet, and printed out our boarding cards. Thank you so much. My wife and I were then treated to a trip to the 37th floor to enjoy the magnificent views. It was a very kind gesture and one we won't forget. I hope Radisson Alexanderplatz management appreciate they have a star on their team.
We had a lovely stay. The rooms were stylish and very clean and quiet. The only thing missing was a tea/coffee making facility. We were impressed with the environmentally sensitive touches. We were happy to pass on the room service each day and were rewarded with a drink voucher each day. We used these for a delicious hot chocolate at bedtime on our last night. The breakfast selection was varied and of good quality. So much choice you couldn't fail to find things you wanted and there were plenty of healthy options. Our favourite was the automatic pancake maker. Gluten free options are available. There were plenty of tables and the restauraunt staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. We purchased our travel day ticket each day from the reception (validate it as you get on the tram each day). The hotel is well located to access the transport system and we used the trams, underground, rural train system and buses using our ticket. We would definitely stay again. The only reason we are not awarding 5 stars is the lack of tea/ coffee making facilities. Thank you for making our time so enjoyable.
The Riu Plaza is a 4-star place owned by the Spanish Riu chain, obviously aimed primarily at business and conference people. But it's a good place to stay for holidaymakers too. - Very well located in Schöneberg, 150 metres from Wittenbergplatz (and a little further to Nollendorfplatz in the other direction), so pretty easy access on the U-bahn to almost everywhere, and only 1 stop from Zoo Garden terminal for airport buses. - large, airy rooms, with good views (we were on 16th floor), comfortable bed, excellent and spacious shower and good bathroom in general, fast lifts - a good bar, with friendly bar and wait staff, and not overpriced, just off the reception desk area - generally friendly and efficient front desk staff (but see further on) - not expensive, at least in winter; we paid only just over 100 euros a night, which is good value Its flaws are minimal, but...: - Breakfast is too expensive. Sure, it has all the usual breakfast buffet stuff, but it significantly adds to the cost of the holiday to cough up 19 euros pp each day (we stayed 4 nights). Having just come from an excellent central hotel in Lisbon, where we had an excellent breakfast for 12 euros pp each morning, it seemed excessive, so we settled for a nearby cafe each day. - Make sure you put the 'do not disturb' sign on your door each day if you don't want to get up early. The first day we were there, Monday, having arrived in Berlin at half past midnight, we were woken up at 8.45 am by a cleaner banging on the door. Happened again at the same time a couple of days later when we forgot to put the sign out. Sorry, when you're staying for 4 days, there's no reason to clean the room that early - and I blame the management, not the cleaners, who just do what they're told. - Some of the staff are a little slapdash. E.g., the kettle in our room had been ruined by an idiot previous occupant trying to use it as a coffee perculator, so there was a baked-on layer of coffee on the bottom of it. On our way out the next morning, we took it down to the front desk - the guy there actually asked us to take it back up to our room on the 16th floor, and assured us it would be replaced by the cleaners. When we returned from sightseeing 6 hours later, guess what - the ruined kettle was still there in our room. Fail! I know this is a 1st-world problem, but the original front desk guy should have just taken the kettle and organised to get it replaced. When we took it down again, this time the woman on the front desk took it from us, and a short time later a new kettle was in our room. I don't want to criticise the place too much, as it was pretty good overall and we'd stay there again. But it felt a little impersonal, and while most of the staff were excellent, some were not well-trained or motivated enough to deal properly with issues, relatively minor though our's were. Thus, it gets 4 stars, not 5.
