We chose this hotel on the basis of the many good reviews on Tripadvisor. Reading them again after our three night stay we are truly wondering whether they are referring to the same hotel. Ok we understood that this is a historic property with no in-room frills such as a TV which was not a problem for us although we did miss a tea and coffee facility. But the main issue is one of cleanliness - the whole place could really do with a thorough clean. Our bedroom floor was worn and very grubby - so much so that we didn’t walk on it in bare feet. It hadn’t been mopped for a very long time! The bathroom fittings are worn and old - yes we get the novelty of pull-chain flush but an old worn wooden toilet seat - really? There were discarded bits and pieces - tissues and things - from previous occupants of the room on the floor around the free standing bath and they remained undisturbed by the cleaner throughout our stay. The furnishings in the bedroom were old with heavily stained covers which were very uninviting to sit on and the public areas looked shabby and grubby. Fortunately the bedding was clean and the bed comfortable which is about the only good thing we can say about our room. We might have raised these issues had there been anyone to raise them with but there’s no reception, nobody on duty at breakfast (which by 9.15 was just a few cakes and some lukewarm water to make tea so we went out) and self checkout. Dinner - which we didn’t try - is finished, the bar closed, the whole place locked up and the staff gone by 9pm - it really did feel sad and neglected. You can take the authentic ’vintage ambience’ too far and for us this was a poor experience we wouldn't want to repeat. The Cosmopolitan certainly didn’t deliver the ‘elegantly appointed’ accommodation that was promised.

The environment is very good, the variety of paid breakfast is quite diverse, suitable for family trips with elderly children, the hotel is in a good location, next to the old town park, it is worth visiting, and there are many foods to choose from.

The bedding was amazing, i slept like a baby! They offer nice ac system to control the temperature! although the location is in a nice spot so heat wasn't an issue! lots of areas to lounge around outside around the resort or in your room they offer table and chairs to relax and enjoy those late night cravings! The hospitality was amazing, everyone was so nice at check in and check out! definitely recommend using the parking garage! there is a fee each night you use it, but worth it!

We have stayed here on all but one of our visits to San Diego (2001, 2004, 2008, 2011) and keep returning because we are happy with this place. The front desk staff were nice and helpful with directions and local information. There is a pool area with surrounding tables. The rooms are to a good standard with comfortable beds. A trip to the Zoo is a must in San Diego and when we stayed there were discount coupons available in the hotel. It is possible to easily get the light rail into town then a bus as we did on previous occasions but this time we drove and it's straightforward with free parking. You will need a full day (and some) to do it justice. Down town seemed to have changed a lot since our previous visit in 2011 with a lot of stores now closed and a significantly higher number of economic victims. The Old Town is nicer to stroll around and Midtown has some chain stores for clothes etc that are within walking distance of the motel. There are a few eateries on the main tourist drag but O'Hungrys was a good choice for reasonably priced beer and steak. Also a short stroll into Midtown was Modern Times brewpub which was excellent with a wide choice of nice beers.

I was there from 7/5/2020-8/16/2020 for business travel during this nightmare of C-19. When I checked in, Ms. Susan was at the counter, greeted me professionally and I'm pretty sure with a smile. Couldn't tell, because we were wearing masks, as was required. Ms. Susan explained the current situation to me as far as housekeeping and such was happening, once a week, on Wednesdays, No problem for me, I don't change my bed sheets at home everyday anyways. She then asked me if I wanted points, or a $10 credit for the Market Place? I said points, Ms. Susan said "you're here 35 days, that's $350.00 towards Market Place and such. I did not know that, I thought it was only a one time credit of $10.00. I went for the food. Throughout my stay, I started seeing familiar faces that I had seen in 2019, when I was at the Fairfield for about 4 months total, just a few blocks away. It is the same owner. Ms. Katie, the GM, Mr. David, Asst. GM, the numerous housekeepers, maintenance, and Bistro, along with Security personnel, after a few days, we all recognized one another. That was really heartwarming. Last, but certainly not least, Ms. Kelly, the 3pm-11pm front desk worker, kept the Market Place stocked, great personality, pretty sure she was smiling under her mask :-). I will stay there again!!

Last minute the day of I created a reservation for four nights at this property. I knew the location was in Old Town which is a tourism attraction area so I had some expectations. Upon arriving I did notice the hotel did look a little "old". I checked in via a glass window because their lobby is closed due to Covid-19. The hotel charges $10/per day for parking in their garage. Personally, I parked every night right in front of the property with street parking for free. As I was traveling to my assigned room I did notice the elevator and hallways could use extra cleaning and a man was smoking outside the room next to my room. When I opened the door I was shocked by how large the room was. As I was walking around the room I realized it was kind of tattered, dusty, and smelled like smoke (possibly from the neighbors). I am displeased that the staff would even booked that room with it's conditions. I immediately panicked and called the network I booked the reservation through. The represented advised that I chat with the front desk staff about cancelling and a refund. I requested to cancel the reservation and for a refund to the front desk staff. The staff member explained that because I was in the room for over 20 minutes I could not request a full refund. I was explaining that my intentions to cancel is based on having an autoimmune disease and being an asthmatic and I cannot stay in a dirty room or be around smoke especially during this pandemic. The staff member did explain he was going to remedy the situation by offering me another room and if the room was not up to par then he will take further steps. He took me another floor and offered me a suite. I would compliment them and state that their rooms are very large for the price and this would be good size for a family. The suite did look much cleaner, however, I did asked for the staff member to clean the air conditioner because it was visibly dusty. The remainder of my stay was nice. Housekeeping was great with cleaning my room everyday. It was interesting to see atypical people around the hotel and it was little concerning to see the police consistently riding around the property. There was one day when law enforcement was there for a situation I am unaware of. To be honest I did expect better from the reviews and photo of this property. However, this is a really good location in a tourism area, the rooms are a large size, and it very affordable.

I AM ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT: Riverleaf Inn Front Desk Manager YESSICA ROMO My recent stay at this inn (11/15/20, Room 307) is why I am writing this review. 1. DIRTY SHEETS & PILLOWS - When I pulled back the top blanket, I was shocked to see what looked like nail clippings and strange-looking fibers on the fitted sheet and hairs on the pillow cases. Hidden underneath the top blue blanket I found a giant cigarette burn and a crusty white stain. DISGUSTING. 2. PHONE NOT SET UP - I attempted to use the phone to request clean blankets & pillow cases but the phone was not functioning. 3. UNSANITARY - The 2 trash cans in room 307 did not have any trash bags. This particular room not only had a strong odor of cigarette smoke, but also an extremely unpleasant moldy odor. On the floor by the bed closest to the restroom, I found chunks of an orange powdery substance. On the floor inbetween the two beds I found a large area of knife/scratch marks. Since the beds were filthy, I decided to sleep on the chair provided. After taking a closer look, I noticed on the arm of the chair a large cigarette burn hole that was filled dirt. The unsanitary conditions & discomfort I felt caused me unbearable anxiety, especially with the current Covid situation. I was so disgusted that I considered sleeping in my car. My fiancé and I have stayed at this inn on several occasions. We’ve been loyal returning guests & chose to look past the issues we’ve previously experienced with them. - The photos/descriptions of their available rooms are MISLEADING. - The rooms are “Non-Smoking” yet they REEK of cigarette smoke. - 9/23/20/: Booked a “Deluxe Queen” ($91 total) Upon entering the room, we noticed it was the same “Standard” room option we’ve booked in the past. The front desk staff attempted to downgrade our room even though we purposely paid an extra $20 for a larger room. - Because of my most recent experience with Riverleaf Inn, I decided to review my bank statements - RIVERLEAF INN FAILED TO RETURN MY DEPOSIT FOR EVERY SINGLE BOOKING I MADE SINCE JULY 2020. On top of that, I was charged a few dollars more than what was stated in each confirmation email. I have already spoken with the front desk staff (Lucy & Benjamin). I demand an explanation as to why my security deposits remain unreturned. I will continue to contact the staff at Riverleaf Inn both over the phone and in-person until this matter is resolved. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. This entire facility should be investigated in regards to health and safety.

Ocean Beach
Pros: ok...so not everything is bad about this hotel. I mean, the views from the ocean view rooms with balcony are amazing. They have a terrace area on each of the 3 floors which makes a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or dinner and watch the ocean and surfers. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. They offer free parking and a refrigerator in the room. Cons: During our 3 day stay, there was a man found stabbed underneath the Ocean Beach Pier, 2 ambulances called for fights/victims of the fights, and a car literally racing around the parking lot at 5:00am trying to chase and kill the other homeless people who they apparently had a problem with while those in the parking lot that normally live there we’re trying to hit the car with garbage cans and/or other objects to either antagonize or deter them..hard to tell. Police were literally out there at least 3-4 times per day (maybe more since we wouldn’t have seen them while out for the day). In room phone did not work. When I tried to dial 911 for the car trying to chase and kill people in the parking lot across the street, I found out there was no dial tone and it didn’t work. I was able to call from my cell phone though:) I called the front desk later to let them know. They never did fix it so maybe it’s something they were already aware of? Partying INSIDE the hotel is HUGE!!! So, if you’re planning to sleep, hope you have a VERY high tolerance to loud noises, yelling and dogs barking. No coffee maker and honestly, early in the morning, I didn’t feel comfortable going out by myself to go find coffee. During the daytime it’s a bit better since there are more people around and the people who live on the beach kind of calm down a bit. It’s sad really. (Also, no microwave) There are probably quite a few people living there on the beach that could use some mental health services. No elevator for luggage. Third floor was fine for me because we only had a carry on and backpack, but if you are older or have a family, that could be a problem. For the price they charge per room per night, I expected a much better experience overall.

I was able to book a room at the zoo hostel the day of my visit, which was very convenient. After I checked in, I was offered a home-cooked meal and the company of lots of new friends from all over the world. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I stayed in a 4 bed room that had bunk beds, a closet, and a desk. It was clean and I had the room to myself. I will say that you can hear other guests walking around outside your room as the walls are pretty thin, but I got the impression people are usually very considerate about noise late in the night. The next morning there were bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and coffee offered for breakfast. The hostel really felt like it was a big family that lived there. The bathrooms and showers were communal. And the hot water heater was out during my stay, but they were fixing it as I was leaving. When I checked out, the person working the desk gave me advice about what to do for the rest of my trip and helped me research different places around the city. Overall, a great experience!

I loved the room. It was cozy and inviting. The front desk guy was super friendly. I would stay here again. They do require a security deposit of $100 they said it only places a hold on the funds but my account notifies me when funds are paid and it came out. I’ll see after I check out transaction is reversed. There was some water damage on the sink next to the shower from shower spray if the curtain isn’t closed all the way. I wouldn’t have noticed but with the security deposit I wanted it documented.

This hotel has been in business for a long time. The fixed decoration inside is a bit old. Especially the water pressure is very low and the bath is very uncomfortable. But the bedding is good and sleeping is very comfortable. Don't put in that little money if you choose a room with a balcony. It will be very comfortable. There are two types of sea view rooms, one is where you can see the aircraft carrier. Only one side can see the bridge. You can ask the front desk when you get the room. Facing the fishing village, you can see the aircraft carrier. The surrounding environment did not say. It's beautiful and convenient. There are many characteristic restaurants around. Although there is a slight price increase, it is still not expensive. Hello, it is also very close to the supermarket in the city, and it is only 600 meters away. It is a very recommended hotel.

The three waiters at the front desk are very nice and patiently answer your questions. Note that this hostel plus hotel is not 24 hours, you must check in before 11pm. No one at the front desk after 11 o'clock, remember to confirm with the hotel in advance. Breakfast is mainly bread and yoghurt. It ’s no problem to be full. The bathroom is super large. There is a separate kitchen in the dormitory room for many people. The stove is complete, which means less utensils. You can make the seafood you buy. Remember to buy the seasoning yourself. The only problem with the room was the lack of heating. The location is in Little Italy, and buses and trams are nearby.

Just had a fabulous getaway. It has been a rough year with my husband’s passing away. This was my first getaway since that event. Hubby and I had had a wonderful time here on our 34th wedding Anniversary and getaways. Had asked about staying in the last room we stayed in and was told they could see what they could do. I was pleasantly surprised at check in when I got that room. The rooms here are lovely. Due to COVID-19 limitations the restaurant and bar were closed. The onsite cafe is open in the morning. There is also a little quick market by the front desk. The beauty of the hotel’s location are all of the walkable restaurant options. The pool was opened and the hotel had short time outs to clean and disinfect the pool furniture. The hotel had sanitizer throughout the public areas. The rooms had travel disinfectant wipes for anyone wanting to do their own touch up. The staff is friendly. Kudos to Joseph and Sabrina. The hotel location is fabulous. This was a wonderful getaway for me while working through my new normal. Many thanks to the entire Courtyard Marriott family.

It feels like this place was squeezed into its spot. It’s a small property tucked into a hillside just off the main roads in Mission Bay. It’s a bit difficult and tricky to get into. The property has recently (in the past few years) been reconditioned. There’s parking in front and in two underground garages. Since it was not busy, parking wasn’t a problem. If they were full, it could be challenging. The lobby and breakfast area are sparse, but functional. This is one of the most reasonably priced hotels in the Mission Bay area. The room is quite typical. It’s rather large with a King bed, bed tables, a credenza, writing desk and chair, sofa, mini-fridge and microwave. All is crisp and clean. La Quinta has the usual ‘chain’ food. There is a small efficient breakfast area; busy, but not overly crowded. The breakfast was very typical of chain hotels – coffee, OJ, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, breads, cereals, yogurts, apples & bananas.

I have to admit I was a bit skittish to stay here. It’s not usually a place I would stay. Short version: all expectations were exceeded. Long version: check in was fine and about as fast as it can be. Parking is free, a nice thing. The room is of average size and was refurbished not too long ago. Comfy beds, large TV, and adequate bathroom. The only demerit is there is no desk. There is a table, but it is not big enough to do real work. A small item that I worked around. Microwave and roommate refrigerator are a nice touch. Overall no complaints. Quiet, clean, and got the job done. You can spend more, but I’d be hard pressed to do that. We recently had a quick family trip to visit SDSU. Stayed at the Bahia for a night to be close to the beach. Nice location in Mission Bay and it's an easy walk over to Mission Beach. There's a quiet beach on-site that's nice. The beach cabanas were nice to sit in on a windy day. Our room was on the west side in the two story complex. 191, I think. There seem to be a lot of different room types here so check into what you're booking. This was an upper floor room with a large living room and small kitchen. It felt more like a condo, very spacious. It faces the public parking lot and beach which some reviewers aren't fond of, but we didn't have any issues with noise or people. It was nice to watch the fireworks at SeaWorld from this view. The room had two huge flat screen LG tvs, excellent quality. It would be nice if the TV supported airplay or had a netflix app. The wifi was available throughout the resort and had good quality download speed. Furnishings were nice but worn, with the sofa sinking down quite a bit and the bed had a decent wear spot. The bathroom was larger than a normal hotel and had nice towels and toiletries. The shower was not working well because most of the water was going out the tub faucet instead of to the shower, seems like the faucet needs to be worked on. Overall, the resort was a pleasant place with lots of open green space and water around it. It was full of families on the Friday night we stayed and most everyone was wearing masks and being thoughtful of others. This hotel really brings out a lot of first time reviewers who know the staff by name. I've not seen that before on TripAdvisor.

Attention to detail matters here. And the concierge is so friendly, all the valet guys are so sweet and thorough, and the spa was TOPS. (Special shout out to Regan, my incredible masseuse). We absolutely loved our stay at the Catamaran Beach Hotel. It was our 50th wedding anniversay and when we arrived at our room, Edith and Anna (hopefully remebering names correctly) had left chilled bottle of Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It was so inviting and made us feel very special. The whole staff was so gracious to us and the property was beautiful. From the palm trees, beaches lined with umbrellas for sunbathing, the coy ponds, to the McCaw birds out on display each day, it could not have been better. In fact though it was. After leaving San Diego, my phone was stolen and all my bautiful pictures of our trip were gone. My husband, knowing how disappointed I was called the resort near my 70th birthday in March and explained how my phone was stolen. Steve took the initiative to take not one but about 20 beautiful pictures around the resort area including the gorgeous exotic McCaws and texted them to me. This is definately going the extra mile in customer service. I cannot say enough about what these kind gestures meant to us. Thank you again to the Staff and owners of the Catamaran Beach Hotel for making our 50th Anniversary trip the best anyone could ask for.

I can see the Coronado Bridge room at Ctrip. However, because the room was booked in the domestic software, it was the most marginal room. I stayed for 2 consecutive nights. There is a dock at the downstairs that has been unloading. Figure 4 is the view of the room. The most unpleasant thing is that all the evaluations said that there was no resort fee. As a result, I was forced to deduct 35 yuan per day, and the daily parking fee was 35 yuan. 2 night room is only 1200 yuan, vacation and parking fees are 1100 yuan, everyone, please keep your eyes open before you go, spend money on lessons

Ok, I'm seriously about to leave and it's 3:00am. I have tried to sleep....for several hours now. THIS PLACE IS JUST LOUD! There is a musty aroma as soon as you walk in. First of all, I will give a slight plus. The front desk lady was nice and for the most part, everything was clean, most importantly the sheets. There was a hair in the tub, and as gross as that is, I let it slide and let the water run it down the drain before hopping in. Although the bedding appeared and smelled clean but is not comfortable at all. Thank goodness the fridge works. The parking lot is no fun! It's one way, cars are parked close together and it's so narrow, it's very hard to get out of. I was scared to hit surrounding cars. If the lot is filled, parking is not easy to find, and it's not the safest area to be walking alone at night. Now let's get to the noise and the reason I may just leave in the middle of the night... I can hear EVERYTHING! The walls are paper thin. I can here when the guy in the next room goes into the bathroom, I can hear him talking on the phone word for word and now, I can hear him snoring!!! LOUDLY!!! When people walk up the hallway, it shakes the room. I asked if I could switch rooms.. There are none... Don't think it would matter much anyway. You can also hear everything outside. The freeway almost goes over the hotel.. Literally right next too the hotel so it's just very loud. I've tried using a white noise app, but this guy's snoring is intense.

We live 2 miles away but wanted a break from our home during these neverending covid times. There are 4 hotels in this immediate just area yards away from one another however this doubletree looked the nicest + it had the best reviews of the 4 hotels. Our room was spacious, comfortable & had everything we needed incl coffee maker, Fridge & Microwave. Most importantly it was spotless & well sanitized. The door had an unbroken seal to show the clean team had left & no one else had since entered. It smelled fresh & clean and even the TV remote was sanitized in a plastic bag. Beds & pillows were super comfortable, easy to use AC/Heat control & accessible charging jacks & outlets. Excel Wi-fi for work & for my daughters school thru Zoom. Checkin by Jordan was suberb as well as the follow up texts by Jordan & Jonny to see if we needed anything. Thank you!.. Trevor @ front desk was also very kind & helpful. Last but certainly not least SHAUN who I originally spoke to by phone when making the reservation was a super nice person 👌..Thank you! G.LoRusso

..a microwave. It would've been nice to have one to reheat the ribs from STP BBQ across the street( excellent!) Other than that it was perfect. Very clean & very quiet. We had a non-smoking room, so we'd step outside to smoke & watched the parking lot fill up, great for business but we were thinking about how loud it may get? It never did. Lastly, we were able to leave our trailer at an agent, so we bob-tailed over. I'm not sure if truck parking is allowed on the street behind the hotel?

My husband and I held our wedding day at Estancia. Estancia is a beautiful resort, but I am immensely disappointed in the quality and service of the staff. At our wedding my purse was stolen containing $500 cash, license, credit cards, and a heirloom ring belonging to my mother in law. When reporting the incident twice to front desk they were incredibly impersonal, unhelpful, and doubtful that this had happened. We are certain that this theft occurred when staff broke down the tables and linens at the end of our event. My purse was taken as soon as I walked away when only my husband and a few groomsmen and staff were around. We have worked with security who has been the only one who has provided us with any assistance at all. This negative experience has trumped any positive one and I would not refer anyone to host their wedding there or stay as a guest because of untrustworthy staff and disloyalty to the customer. After hosting our wedding the hotel was incredibly efficient at collecting any money or fees associated with our wedding, yet no one displayed any effort at all to provide any assistance or compensate us in any way after this theft occurred. Additionally, some of our wedding decor was trashed without our consent and I am shocked that this would have happened at this hotel which prides itself on quality. This was an extremely poor experience and I am personally still distraught by this experience and the lack of follow through and disregard displayed by staff at Estancia. I am positive my purse was taken intentionally by a staff member during the banquet breakdown and the hotel has not taken any responsibility nor taken any action to resolve the issue.
