A very nice hotel, just across the bridge from the railway station, the lakeside, the city center, the supermarket, and a very nice Chinese restaurant called Chopsticks. I stayed for 3 nights this time. It may be due to the fact that there are few people and the price is good. I got a 2 upgrade. The decoration is also very new. Will come next time.

If you need a place to park your bags and sleep when you are visiting Zurich, this is a good hotel to stay at. It is very close to the train station. I always take the reviews that say it is within walking distance with a grain of salt, because what someone else can easily walk, and what my husband and I who are both seniors can walk, tends to be different. But we very easily walked all four days that we were there back and forth between the hotel and the train station. And enjoyed the walk because we crossed the river each time, which was so scenic, and it gave us a little bit of time to stretch our legs after sitting on buses and trains each day. The hotel is extremely basic. But it was very clean and the beds were ok. My husband is 6'6" and he had a bit of a problem. He either hit his head on the headboard or his feet on the footboard. But most people aren't going to have that problem. If you need a Swiss electric adapter - who knew it is not the same as the German adapter that we had - they had them at the front desk and will let you borrow them with a $20 deposit (or Francs). If you need a blowdryer, which we did not, I believe you can also get that at the front desk. We bought CocaCola and asked for glasses at the front desk and were able to get them but they are not going to be in your room. The pillows in our room were horrible. That was really my only complaint. Sean was there at the front desk when we checked in over the weekend and he was so very helpful and nice. We never interacted with any other staff. Each day we left early and came back late and never really needed anything else. The bathroom has a wonderful retro vibe to it with peacocks and flowers on the times. Again, basic, but very clean. We were there the last week of October and the weather was cool. So we were comfortable without air conditioning. We opened our windows each evening when we got back to the room and let the cool air in. There was no way we could have slept with them open though. The street noise was awful. But as soon as we shut the windows and pulled the curtains closed, it was fine. We no longer heard the noise. I could not sleep there had it been any warmer though - with no air conditioning and the street noise if the windows were open, it would have been very uncomfortable.

The hotel itself is in a great location and decent for what you can expect for the price (everything that can be cleaned is clean, but there is visible wear-and-tear on the walls and carpets). However, there were several issues during my stay. Firstly, I was given a different room from what was booked. The booking was made by my work and they payed in full for a single room with two single beds, while I was given a single room with one bed. I saw on the website that the price is the same for both types of rooms, so likely a mistake, but I still wanted to talk to the front desk about it. When I did, I came to the second issue, which was the most unpleasant experience I ever had in a hotel, and I've traveled most of the Northern hemisphere. The person working was impolite, insulting and trying to argue with me - he refused to look at my booking and kept telling me how cheap the room is and that I shouldn't expect anything better, being so unpleasant that even when I just left (realizing there is no use in talking to him) I felt uncomfortable in my room knowing this person knows my room number and is the only one at the hotel at that time (in the evening). In the morning I told another clerk about the experience and she seemed kind and understanding and I did not see this man at the front desk for the rest of my stay. Still, I felt uneasy and my original concern was thus never resolved. I write this in case the hotel does not make any changes - just so you know you will not be getting two beds for the price of one, and that if there is an older male clerk at the front desk (he seemed to have been the only one, I unfortunately did not get his name) do not expect any help from him.

Opposite the river at the entrance of the Central Railway Station, there are more bars and restaurants downstairs, and there is a bit of noisy at night, but it does not hinder sleep like a pig. There is a Chinese restaurant behind the downstairs called chopsticks. Maybe he should remember him in this life. He ordered two cooking dishes and spent nearly 500 yuan, but the taste is still very good.

The hotel is located in a great location, an easy 7-10 minute walk from the train station or one tram stop (“Central” station). This was our second visit. The hotel itself and the rooms we’ve had, facing the front of the building, were reasonably quiet, considering how close the hotel is to so many lively bars and restaurants. We did sleep with earplugs (which are provided by the hotel without having to ask) as we keep the window open and there was some noise late into Saturday night from a place nearby. The hotel is kept very clean; we had no concerns at all about staying here during a pandemic. The breakfast is nice (not a hot breakfast, but certainly a nice variety of fresh bread, fruit, yogurt, cheese, cereals, coffee and tea and more) served in a spacious room where you can feel comfortable. I especially appreciate the kind staff who make the place feel warm and welcoming. This is not a luxury hotel, but it doesn’t need to be; it is a reasonably-priced, comfortable and well-run hotel in a super-convenient location. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Zürich.

I booked on priceline roughly 2 weeks in advance, as all the hotels I saw in an Expedia search were 200 Euros and up - mainly chose this one for the price and location, but it's been great so far. The tram stops right outside, and goes to the airport, which to my embarrassment I only found out after paying CHF 60 for a taxi from the airport to the hotel! I agree with other reviewers that the room is small, although I've stayed in smaller rooms - the desk staff were both excellent. They were friendly, spoke great English, and had a whole drawer of travel adapters for guests to borrow. Not what I expected given the budget-friendly nature of the hotel. The shower may be the smallest space I've experienced (ever) but it worked and the water pressure was strong. Be warned if you travel without shampoo and conditioner, the only shower product is the combination shampoo-body wash which I assume does a decent job of the body washing... The reception staff pointed out the mini frig in the room contained still and sparkling water but also free beer! That was a welcome addition. The location is fantastic within easy walking distance of the university, shopping, the promenade, and the train station . My room is at the back of the hotel, and looks out on a quiet courtyard area behind some mixed use office/ retail space buildings. Am guessing the rooms at the front are more exposed to street noise including the tram, but not a hugely busy street. Would stay here again for sure.

The hotel location is particularly good, 10 minutes walk to the train station. It's also easy to get to the sights of the city, all within walking distance. The hotel is in a safe location, quiet at night, and a good rest. Breakfast at the hotel is very rich, higher than hotels of the same price, breakfast has a variety of Swiss cheese nutrition and health. The bread is also very rich, which is pretty good. Hotel rooms are generally large, not that spacious, but the rooms are clean, well decorated, and cleaned up. Kettles are provided free of charge at the front desk. Remember to ask the front desk. The hotel offers various city maps, discount shopping coupons and more. The front desk was very helpful and recommended.

A terrible hotel stay, because I stayed in Zurich for one night, the map is convenient to be next to the train station, but in fact not close (compared to the hotel after staying in the hotel), but also boarded the board, the environment is really dirty The room is small, living in a small attic, I think it’s terrible now. The elevator of the hotel is the original one to pull the door by itself. It is quite amazing to come to Europe for the first time... There is only one place to say the highlights. We have no breakfast, but the front desk lady said that the customers who stayed at the hotel can enjoy breakfast, which is very gratifying.

The hotel is very close to the city centre and can be reached in 5 to 10 minutes on foot. The breakfast is plentiful and the environment is good, with a small garden.

Hotel room is small, very new, very clean, but there is no air conditioning, although the fan is given, it will still be stuffy at night, if the summer is estimated to sleep uncomfortable, breakfast in the lobby side restaurant, food is delicious, high quality, smoke Smoked salmon is served, and the honey with the beehive looks quite appetizing. This hotel is still very good in general, and you can walk to the luxury street in the city center. Of course, you can take a tram at the door, which is super convenient and the rooms are large. I like the service of delivering breakfast to the room, it is especially warm and really like home The rooms are keyed to open the elevator, so the security is very high, of course, the country itself is particularly safe. It is also very convenient to check in and leave the hotel. The staff at the front desk are very well trained. The Marriott Hotel is not far from the hotel. This is one of the three best hotels in the area. There are road signs directly on the way.

Located right ton front of the Bahnhof, the noise comes from the trams and cars not from the trains. Despite double glazing windows, we could hear the traffic From the 4th floor. The room temperature couldn’t be set below 20 degres, we asked Réception but apparently, in the winter, it is not possible to put it down. So after few hours of bad quality sleep because of the temperature in the room, we had to open the window and the noise was awful.how come there is no modern air conditioning? It is a pity because the beds are very comfortable, the room was nice and airy with tea and coffee, fruits and chocolates, nice bathroom with all the amenities and a Japanese toilet. The design is a bit dated. The set dinner was good and the staff prompt and efficient, the breakfast was a bit disappointing as there is nothing special about the food, such as local or artisan bread or cheese or ham, but more direct from supermarket. The staff was really helpful though.

Firstly I must point out that many of the reviews for these apartments are totally erroneous, I think because there are several Swiss Star properties in Zurich and there is also a Hotel California, so there must have been some confusion. The Correct name for these apartments is Swiss Star California and Booking.com gives the address as 125 Asylstrasse and the picture on their web site is definitely of the property I stayed at. There is no reception and there is no owner/manager. The only staff member I encountered during my stay was a female cleaner. The entrance to the apartments is at the side of the building, you will be emailed a code that operates both the key pad to the door and to your room shortly before arrival Each code is unique so it is essential you memorize it or write it down. Confusingly there are two two key pads but only the smaller one on the right is operational. Once inside there is no reception, a short flight of stairs leads up to a door leading into the ground floor restaurant, however the restaurant operates independently of the apartments and cannot help with any queries or problems. Continuing up the stairs you see a vending machine and a coffee machine, very handy I thought, but unfortunately neither worked. Not a good start. The room however was fine with double aspect windows making it bright and sunny. The French windows led onto a balcony with a table and two chairs. It is equipped with a small kitchen unit with hob, microwave and kettle all in working order, low on cutlery and crockery though. Our bed was comfortable, the WIFI was excellent and the bathroom, though small, had an efficient shower and hot water was constant, good sized telly too. A fair bit of noise unfortunately both from other guests and the main road outside, though the trams don't operate all night. Biggest problem though is the restaurant downstairs that attracts a youthful clientele and music carries on way past midnight. Location is good in a residential area with frequent tram services to both the city centre and the main railway station. There is a Coop supermarket a short walk away where you can buy very nice ready meals to eat in the apartment. The downstairs restaurant is reasonable in price and the food is not at all bad there Main drawback would be lack of staff in case of emergency and it's worth noting that I ran into several guests encountering problems getting into the building, if you lose your code you're in trouble. Still consider this a good choice for people on a budget though.

And the day I checked into this hotel was the first day of my trip to Switzerland, so I don’t know if the electric plug is different from other European countries. Fortunately, the hotel reception staff are very kind, which left a deep impression on me... 😍 And they make the bed every day and it is very clean, so I can spend every day comfortably. This was our third visit to the hotel. We love the well designed and comfortable rooms with a unique glass enclosed bathroom. The rooms are located within a beautiful courtyard, with artistic stately trees that lend a sense of calmness in a city atmosphere. We were pleased to see on this visit that all the great amenities were still available including a delicious reinvented menu in the restaurant. We had the beef marrow which was a unique visual and delicious experience. In addition to all of these things, the Greulich Hotel’s location close to the main tram line makes it a convenient spot to use as a base for experiencing Zurich. On the last night in Zurich, we decided to change rooms and try to choose #Acasa Suites Zurich#, which is ten minutes from the city. It is called the second-ranked popular hotel in Zurich. It is said that this hotel does not affect us for ten minutes from the city. It is very convenient to drive. Room 2000 is the first time RMB can be added. The hotel is very practical. The hotel is very suitable for couples. There is a gym and a spa. If you are traveling with your husband and children, this is our first choice. ❤️ Room 28 square meters, I think OK, but if you want to compare with the apartment hotel, you will think that it is more cost-effective. The hotel has its own choices. Some hotels that you like are too windy. We don’t have any plans. Kind of cockroach

There is also a large supermarket opposite, which is really difficult to say (in fact, I just set this for a supermarket). Difficult hotel to review. Obviously location is quite good (central) to Zurich but the parking situation is very difficult. The hotel themselves have a very very small car park for 8 vehicles or less. There is a solution that they can explain but a hotel should find some bigger area for a car park. Doesn't have to be immediately close to the hotel. I appreciate that central Zurich is very busy and there is little available space, but I'm just being honest. Zurich is not a very car friendly city, so with better research I would have chosen a hotel with a better parking facility. The hotel also loses a star rating becuase of the breakfast. I have stayed in 3 and 4 star hotels in many places in Europe and this was the most disappointing breakfast. Very small selection of fruit (no bananas/oranges/peaches?) and the bread, meat and cheese weren't the best. No scrambled or fried eggs, only hard boiled. No crispy bacon or sausages. The toast station is hidden away and I didn't notice it until the end. Also the pastries were not deluxe by any means. And it may sound harsh to say things for a 3 star hotel but the prices are closer to a 4 star hotel therefore my expectations were a bit higher. So in summary I would advise to stay in this hotel only if you want to use trams every day, or if a truly excellent breakfast is not important to you. The staff were the only 'very good' thing about the hotel.

I stayed one night for business reasons. Excellent location because I could reach the train within few minutes. But... as I arrived at the hotel (17.20) was nobody at the reception as it supposed to be until 20.00.After searching at the cafeteria which belongs to the hotel, I found a lovely waitress which helped me to find my key. My arrival time was a bit unstable and I inform the hotel about it so I received a mail where to find my key but if I would have arrived before 20.00 for sure would be the receptionist there. Unfortunately nobody was there,so it was a bad welcome without having any info about the hotel and if I could eat or drink something or whatever you need when enter to a hotel. I booked a room without breakfast because it wasn't sure the morning what time I should leave according to my busy schedule. The morning I took my suitcase and went down to the cafeteria-reception-entrance, nobody was at the reception so I searched again for the waitress and ordered a coffee. I would like here to add that I haven't found any information or a list which i could order breakfast or something to my room. But even so .. was anyway nobody to gave it the night before. After almost one hour to the cafeteria I asked the waitress if came somebody from the reception and she said ''yes of course, he is sitting to the other side of the cafeteria go and you can find him there'' so I went and I asked if I can leave my suitcase for a couple of hours to a place there, yes I could, and if I had extra costs for my already paid room, I mean City tax etc.but was paid already as well and without asking me ANYTHING if was everything ok or something wrong.. So I will answer to these questions: The only perfect thing was the location Purely hosting, nobody there on my arrival so no idea if there were a good service Dirty room, full of dust everywhere,on the furniture, floor, cutlery stuff etc and also hair and bread crumbs on the floor, so barefoot after shower was a challenge(of course no slippers provided) Old stains from liquids on the floor and on the furniture Dirty and overused bottles from shampoo and shower gel to the shower and also really stained shower curtain Shadow curtains also really stained, especially to the spots that used more Noise from the inside of the building startet before 8 so it wasn't a relaxing wake up time. The noise of tram it's the less that bothered Not at all sanitation on those difficult times.,into the room or to the hallway before we enter the room after the elevator. To be honest I don't remember the spots to the reception cafeteria if they had or where was it.. I have to stop here because I feel really disappointed. I wanted to love and like so much this hotel but it was fur away from the descriptions that I saw before. Maybe were bad days for the hotel maybe not, but unfortunately I experienced some really negative things ..

A good place to share a Tea or to have a lunch, unfortunate is the attention at the desk in the Lobby, as we arrived, we asked to make a reservation for a typical Afternoon tea and a second reservation for a lunch at Baur’s a separate day. The attention was quite annoying, the negative attitude of the head waiter for the booking left me with no grace to reserve, “no place we are fully booked for the month, we requested any day to reserve as we were flexible. No chance.. But my surprise was that minutes later, making the same request by phone, we got a table in the lobby for the Tea one day and for the requested a table for 4 at Bauer’s. The Tea service a classic in the Lobby was excellent, service and attention unique, for the Lunch at Bauer’s we really enjoy the service the taste and quality of the dishes. A shame was the initial attention, and it is so easy to make clients happy! Nice memories to share

Zurich Old Town–City Centre
Conveniently located, the number 3 tram stop is right next to the hotel. The two-star hotel, breakfast buffet is relatively simple, but also basically has the category. Fruit, hot milk, coffee, cold milk and cereals, juice, a variety of bread, meat, cheese, and an egg cooker can cook eggs yourself. There are four beds in the quadruple room. The hand washing, the toilet and the shower room are separate and convenient. Health is very good. No disposable toothbrushes are provided. There is no air conditioner but there is a fan to catch up with the heat wave in Europe. It is very comfortable to open the window and sleep at night. Overall it is a small and exquisite small hotel, recommended.
