This is a basic hotel which we knew in advance. The young girl at reception was welcoming and spoke good English. The car park was adequate. The room was very small with a desk and a bed. The bed was not very comfortable and there was only one bedside table. The bathroom was very small and there were only 2 bath towels and no hand towels for hair washing. There was only one small waste bin in the whole room. Breakfast was an extra €9.90 per person and had a fair choice but not brilliant. We had dinner there but the menu was difficult to understand. I ordered a starter and then lasagne. However they both arrived together but the starter was completely wrong. The waiter did not understand and was quite rude. He did replace the starter and it still wasn’t the same as pictured on the menu and I had to eat it after my main course. I would have liked a small dessert such as crepe brûlée or chocolate mousse but it wasn’t allowed. You could ONLY have a buffet of desserts for €9.90 which was far too much and ridiculous. Yes you get what you pay for but I probably wouldn’t choose a Campanile again.

No problems here. room was clean, bed was comfortable, en suite facilities were okay. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on the food but there is also a small menu available during the day and vending machines. A Bufallo Grill and Chinese buffet restaurants are 5min walk away. The receptionist (Melodie) spoke excellent English and was very helpful.

This was our final night of a fabulous road trip which saw us drive from the UK, to Ukraine and back. It might be reasonably priced but it was shocking. Receptionsit didn't seem to have any knowldege our our booking at first, even though we'd booked through Expedia. There were all sorts of undesirable looking people wandering around the communal areas and the place didn't feel safe. The rooms had no en-suite and just a basin behind a small screen. My room reeked of cigarette smoke and the bed covers felt filthy. We all set our alarms for 5.00am but all woke earlier and rushed out of the place. Possibly the worst hotel I've visited in Europe. Don't go, it's vile.

Well located hotel close to the main square. Very friendly staff helpfull in finding a safe solution fo our bikes. Rooms special and maybe not to everyones liking but we were pleased with the decor. Most stuff is not put up straight so if something is a little awkward in the room it might be on purpose, who will tell. Temperature control in the room is not possible from inside the room so this is not a plus. It was simply too hot and we couldn't change the setpoint. Apparently after 21:00 you have to switch to yet another system but we didn't try to get to grips with that system. Breakfast is OK but not worth 13 euro. Go get a coffee and a croissant in a nice bar in town. Only after staying there we found out the hotel has a sauna. Maybe that should be mentioned by the staff at check in because we didn't see any signs and it would have been great to enjoy a sauna after a nice bike ride in the area. For those interested, just follow the "voie verte" along the Meusse river. Nice path. Best is to follow the one going north. Parking in front comes to 7 euro is arranged at the reception of the hotel. Bottom-line : if you can get a good deal on the room-rate, not bad. (Official room rate displayed is 159 euro which is definitely not worth it. We paid 78 euro (not including breakfast) which is correct for this room.

I stayed at the Kyriad Charleville-Mezieres for four nights in mid-October 2019. I reserved online. I am mobility impaired (I use a walker). I saw online that the hotel has facilities for the mobility handicapped, but at their Kyriad website and Booking. com I could not find a room for the handicapped as a choice when booking. I reserved a room and then sent an email to the hotel explaining what I needed. They responded the same day, in English and assured me they booked me into a room with the features I required. As it turned out I checked into the hotel around midnight. My friend (who speaks French) called the hotel earlier in the evening and explained I would be arriving quite late. Upon arrival we found the door locked and the lobby dark. (This is common in hotels in France, unless you are in a huge chain hotel like Marriott). However, I rang the doorbell and the front desk clerk appeared quickly. I was greeted with a friendly "Bonsoir, Madame" and handed my room key. I asked did I need to show my passport or credit card. No, no. How easy is that! There is an elevator to access all floors. I was very pleased to see I had been assigned a room with hand rails in the bathroom and a very nice roll-in shower with a shower chair and hand-held shower wand. The water pressure was good, there was plenty of hot water. The lighting in the bathroom was bright. There was a hairdryer. A eco-friendly combo body wash/shampoo is provided in a wall dispenser. I used it and found it was a very nice product. If you need conditioner bring your own, as it is not provided. The room was better than I expected. It was big, by French hotel standards, and had a large window that opened wide to let in the crisp fall air. The view overlooked a tree near the hotel entrance. The room was quiet all the time I was there. There is a small closet with a dozen clothes hangers. There was a tea kettle that boiled water in less than 60 seconds. I travel with my own coffee, but the hotel furnishes instant coffees (several types, including decaf and cappuccino), assorted teas, sugar, sugar substitutes and cookies. I had a double bed. It was very comfortable. The pillows were very good. There was a flat screen television. A small table (like those in hospital rooms, making it handy to move about the room) and chair and a desk. There were small nightstands next to each bed that had handy electrical outlets. It made it easy to charge my electronics. The hotel provides free Wifi and it worked well. I purchased the hotel's breakfast on two days of my stay. I enjoyed it very much. The breakfast room is large and has lots of tables and chairs. There was a large selection of breads: the Ardennes sweet bread with sugar topping, pancakes, waffles, crepes and French bread. Jams, butter, honey, Nutella and even maple syrup were provided. There is a machine that dispenses frozen yogurt. In a large glass cold cabinet you can choose yogurts, fruit compotes, and other dairy

The reception was good, spoke only a little English but between our limited french we got there. Room was very clean, shower room very small but again clean and useable. Only stayed here one night. Unlike other reviews didnt hear anything other than road noise and only one person drunk singing 'La Bamba' and that was on a Saturday night! All else perfectly fine for a stop off stay!

The hotel is close to the station and has secure parking, although it is quite a tight turn to get into the garage. The room was a bit noisy with the window open but was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room was basically in the attic with only a window looking at the sky and limited practical use - you could only access the bed from one side - and I think the room had been smoked in despite being a non-smoking room and the bed was quite soft / sagged. The price for two was quite low though (equivalent to what we got)
