SHS is a disaster waiting to happen as a hotel (or as already happened in our case!) Let me state the positives to start with... SHS had three members of staff who stood out for trying to do a good job. The spa manager Kimberley, the old man who looks after the reception at night, and the blonde reception lady were all extremely pleasant and did their best to help / provide a good customer service. The rooms are also modern and clean which is a strong positive factor. However, that’s where the positives end. Stay away from the breakfast, I found a fly swimming in the fruit bowl and this was not the worst of the issues with breakfast. On the first morning, despite arriving at 9:40 and there being 20 minutes left of breakfast we were told that kitchen would not make any eggs for us, in a very blunt and unwelcoming way. However, it gets worse... The next time I braved breakfast, I found the breakfast area / restaurant empty with all the tables laid out. So I sat at the table in the picture (with some eggs this day) and after 5 minutes the young man working there tried to tell me that I had to move tables to the one on the right, “as this was the table for breakfast”. He was not joking either, despite every table being empty and laid out for breakfast. I still don’t understand to this day what the problem was or why with such an attitude. It was like he was deliberately trying to antagonise a guest. Also, double check the small print regarding the spa. Unlike most normal hotels, where you can come and go in the pool / jacuzzi / sauna / steam room as you please, here, you have to pay €20-€25 for the privilege each time (and book in advance), which makes sense for locals or non-guests - but bonkers for already paid-up hotel guests. Also, don't dare make the mistake of going to the spa when the locals are having a weekly session, you will be met with an unwelcoming reception. All in all, this was definitely a 3 star hotel in every sense, but rated it “Poor” due to the awful customer service experienced.

I found this place before we left Australia and it was actually approved by our travel consultants. We were not disappointed. We had a hire car so there was room at the back for us to park. We were given a remote, so the entrance was from the front , but you had to negotiate a narrow entrance to get to the car park which by the way was in the fruit orchid which happened to be lined with pavers where the car was parked. Very nice indeed. We were on the second floor so we had a great street view. To the right was towards Mascali and to the left, you ended up at the railway station. The room was impressive and clean. We just loved the ceiling, very ornate and painted in pascal colours. It seemed to be an illusion but apparently the ceiling was slightly domed. Breakfast was fantastic, it was not a hot buffet but there was cold meats (Italian of course) and heaps of sweets. Our host did the prep in the kitchen and I am sure it was her mother as well. It was a family affair and they lived on the premises. If your on foot, then it'a great position to be at because it's not that far from everything.

I travel over 6 months out of the year and have stayed in some pretty swanky places as well some simple places with great service etc. To be a five star luxury, this boutique villa needs a few more details addressed, some which can be fixed, but a few that can not be most likely. Upon arrival, the roads getting to the property were cluttered with trash,,,,so not so much curbside appeal, but then as you approach the entrance it certainly is better. I especially loved the wall of rosemary in entrance. The staff overall friendly, but a bit energetic and anxious for a place that should feel more tranquil. The room was the standard room #7 facing the back/east which is nice with the sun coming up through a beautiful picture window. The shower was small, and floor slippery. they could have extended the shower to make much larger instead of wasting space on robes that are not accessible from bathroom. Needs more attention to details, such as pool bathroom, not so clean, and waste basket overflowing, the do not disturb sign for door does not fit right and poorly made of plastic. Too branded....towels, sheets, robes, napkins, toilet paper? etc...feels more like a chain hotel like a Marriott from this point of view. The breakfast was very average. Lipton tea bags, bottled juice instead of fresh, I asked for a cafe mocha, and they could not do it. The produce was average, tomatoes not ripe, arugula harvested to late, buffet not the most appealing. Although product was labeled with a cute tag, they tags were all askew and some i had to pull out to read what the jam was for instance. This is the attention to detail I speak of that in a great place is not missed. It is the little things that Zash misses. Also, the sun is extremely hot in August, and they have a lovely terrace on the second floor, but you cant appreciate being out there with the pretty views to the sea, because you will fry. They need something for shade, such as large beautiful white cloth umbrellas. they do have this at least by the pool. Overall it is good, but could be better. The views from the pool of Mount Etna are stunning! Dinner was very good. Oh, and the property is right by train tracks, so you will hear the occasional train passing just a few meters from the front of the property.

We arrived late at Hotel. Reception was open, adequate parking, restaurant was still open but we did not visit. We were shown into our room which was spotlessly clean, adequately stocked fridge with reasonably priced drinks, very well cooled room in spite of the extreme heat outside. Breakfast was extensive with wide choice of cut meats, fruits, cereals, sweets, beverages.... could n’t be better. Also checkout was fast. The following has nothing to do with the hotel itself. One thing marred our stay, i am mentioning this for visitors to avoid. Our GPS took us through a country lane which I suspect runs on top of the hotel. We have a big car and we went through a very rough passageway barely open to allow our car through with very rough terrain and fear that we will encounter a dead end. I know the hotel is in nearly a main road and if there is a next time will be very careful to avoid this way. We are frequent visitors to this area which is so beautiful.

__LW_NL__ ›

The room is super big, and the boxes are just spread out. Because Palermo is not big, it is convenient to go anywhere. The front desk provides a map, but the Italian cannot be read, so I still rely on Google. One thing to complain about is that the door of the room is a bit loose. As long as someone opens and closes the door, it will ping-pong. The first night we thought someone was opening our door, which scared us to death. Later, when the problem was discovered, the cabinet with the luggage was completely dead and quiet. Personally, this is still a big problem.

Just came back from a 16-day trip to Sicily and we loved every bit of it! Palermo was the last stop of our trip and we spent 4 nights at the Quattro Canti B&B. Location is excellent, just right opposite the Fontana Pretoria (fountain of shame) and few steps away from the beautiful Quattro Canti junction. Teatro Massimo is a convenient 10mins walk away and the airport bus is round the corner in front of Rinascente. We felt very safe in this area and there are many restaurant options within 5 mins walk. We had a room on the second floor facing the next building hence not much of a view. Room is okay overall and bed is firm and comfy. The restaurant on the top floor has a good view. Special thanks to Bernadetta at the front desk who was extremely helpful with all our needs.

For the hotel set by cruise ship, the location is just opposite the pier, and there is also its own free parking lot, which is super convenient. The room is a budget hotel, which is quite satisfactory. The most unexpected thing was the hotel's breakfast, which was hearty, and overlooked the harbour. It's not far from the scenic area, if you can, you can walk along the beach to Sijiaochang and the Royal Palace. We walked slowly for about 45 minutes. Overall very satisfied.

Because it is the last stop of the journey, and considering the hotel chain, our vigilance is reduced. When I went to breakfast, I didn't lock the suitcase. When I returned to China, I found that one thousand yuan in the suitcase was gone. I suspect it was stolen in this hotel, because there are lock boxes in other places, and staying here. The RMB in front of the hotel has always been there. I have seen the experience of other people before I traveled. I know that Italy has such a theft incident. I didn’t expect it to happen to myself. I can only blame myself for being too big.

we stayed here for one night. Arriving in the evening was a bit of a shock since part of the neighbourhood was run down, but the following day in full light we realised that a lot of palermo antique center is run down!!! the palazzo is beautiful and tastefully decorated, the room was ample very well appointed, the hygiene & beauty products as well as the bath towels were of very good quality. breakfast buffet was fresh and sufficient and included gluten free products which was great as I am celiac and had run out of my own supplies. The staff were very very friendly efficient and always available to help. There is a small square right in front of the hotel where you can park. We are planning a second trip to Palermo and will definitely stay there as a direct booking onto the website of the palazzo gives you an unbeatable rate that includes breakfast buffet. We carefully selected this hotel for New Year 2020 holidays. We spent 7 nights in excellent condition. The room was quiet, very comfortable, large, neoclassical style, beautifully decorated( paintings, floor lamp, wall lamps, Italian marble floor), a slightly retro atmosphere very pleasant. A second smaller room was a dining room which included a well-equipped kitchenette, a table, 2 chairs, a sofa bed, a floor lamp, and paintings also. Cleaning was daily. The sheats and the towels were changed every day too, without asking. The breakfast was rich and varied. That included cannoli cakes that I knew the other 2 trips in Sicily and I liked them. As regards the hotel staff I could say: very professional and helpful. Congratulation for the hotel management, too Hotel location: very good. 5 minutes from the "city (elegant)center"(Teatro Massimo, Teatro Politeama, Via Ruggero Settimo) and not far from the "historic center" 15 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by bus (station near the hotel)
