We are often skeptical of rave reviews but despite the few reviews when we chose to stay here in June 2019 this was our favorite spot in the Baltic countries. For starters, the professional reception staff are extremely accommodating. We were allowed to check in early and (with pre-booking) we were given parking in a secure spot across the street for €10 and then they steered us to another great parking lot where we left our car while we went to Russia for 5 days. The apartment was on the 3rd floor without a lift but we were able to manage the 44 steps just fine. The apartment was like new and very nicely appointed with the extra pillows I requested, spot lighting bedside, and plenty of storage. It has a very nice bathroom and an adequate kitchen area. There is a free laundry in the adjoining building and it was never a problem to find it available. We were really happy staying here 3 nights and the location was good enough that we were able to wander throughout the Old Town without ever using our car. Tallinn is a youthful, buzzy city with great architecture and museums and restaurants. We ate at NokNok (ground floor of our apartment building) one night but were a bit disappointed with it.

We have just had a 4 night stay here, Tues to Fri in July. The hotel is right in the heart of Tallinn. €10 taxi from the airport. A minute from the Old Town Hall Square. Ideal for all the bars, restaurants and sight seeing. Staff are friendly and the reception staff speak fluent English. We actually booked pre-covid for a Rammstein concert, so nearly 3 years ago, and they honoured the quoted price of €100 per room per night B&B, except for the Wed night when the massive concert was on at the song park and the room cost €290. (Town was heaving with fans and all hotels were full). Overall very good value though......just avoid the special concert nights! We had a superior room (205) directly above the front door. Spacious, fully serviced with hot drinks maker, maid service, toiletries, dressing gowns, slippers, fridge etc. The air conditioning was effective.....there was a heat wave. The shower was easy to operate and very good. The included breakfast was buffet style, all you can eat. Excellent quality and choices of hot and cold foods, cheeses, fruit, pastries etc. Our friends' room, (201) also a superior, was on a corner of the building so had 3 windows, and included a 2 ring cooker and sink, so self catering must be an option on request.

The hotel claims to be a ”boutique hotel” but what it really end up being is old, shoddily maintained and badly run. From the bad sewage smell in the bathroom (possibly caused my the mold which is literally everywhere) to the chipped paint, musty carpets and terrible beds to the lackluster breakfast room, broken-down elevator and airco which will not switch on, everything reeks of neglect. The noise from the bars and clubs goes on and on until at least 3 AM and is so intrusive sleep becomes a bad dream in itself (even if the rickety mattress would allow sleep to begin with). Breakfast is really a disgrace with uninterested staff who won't even talk to you and are merely there to take away dirty dishes. Let's not talk about the ”scrambled egg” which is really powdered egg cake, the stale old bread which is put out daily to the soft and hard boiled eggs which are stone-cold (probably set out the night before. A true health hazard. In my room, the toilet seat was broken (rapaired only after two days of complaining), there were no coffee or tea facilities in the room, lighting in the bathroom insufficient to shave and reading lights next to the bed...insufficiently bright to read by. TV had only a few channels, no cable at all. All floor are wood and creak terribly but the walls are not soundproofed either so if the neighbors next to you or above you decide to have a go at it, you might as well be in bed with them - you hear every groan and squeek! Checkout at 5:15 AM was a drama, there was a sign on the reception ”be right back” and of course nobody came for at least 20 minutes. Gone breakfast to go, gone taxi to the airport or even a simple quick coffee.

Very good, business travel can be, the price is very high with 320 early, the key facilities are not bad, the hotel is quiet in the downtown area, easy to travel to the cruise terminal to sit three or four roads plus no more than twenty minutes, It was previously rebuilt by the hospital. The restaurant has a lift in the basement.

The hotel is the former Viru Inn hotel in Tallinn Old Town. In addition to the new name (Cru)the hotel is now also proud to present the new design, fresh atmosphere and an even cosier environment! The objective is to offer unique and exclusive experience which would combine old and new and offer the visitors an authentic Late Medieval atmosphere without compromising on the account of service quality and comfort of a four-star hotel. In addition to a usual lodging experience they offer you an exclusive boutique-type experience, deriving from the unique design of the hotel building and its medieval legacy. Since now two rooms look the same in Cru the visitor may choose the intimacy or luxury of their preferred environment. Staying in one of the oldest authentic houses in Tallinn is a unique experience even for the most demanding visitor. Fresh natural breakfast that cannot be contested, actual medieval stone and wood architecture and a location on the high street of the Old Town make Cru hotel one of the most desirable in Estonia. The breakfast is made of self-made or farm-grown fresh high-quality ingredients that are not so easily, if at all, found in shops. Natural and fresh breakfast is a unique experience that lights up the whole day! This characterizes also the style, which is on one hand close to earth and atmospheric and on the other hand cosy and snug. With first-class service, unforgettable breakfast and tastefully added modern conveniences Cru ensures excellent balance between old and new.

I liked the hotel, very convenient location, 1 minute from the Town Hall Square. There are nuances, but for this price you should not pay attention. The staff is nice. The check-in was written on the site from 7 in the morning, we arrived at 7 and we checked in, although it seemed like they had hinted at 14.00, but I was looking for a hotel with early check-in, where the reservation indicated that we would arrive early. We rented a day, but it even turned out to have breakfast 2 times, with no questions and no extra charge. Probably the only minus that I want to emphasize when leaving, we were asked if you used a bar, that is, a refrigerator where there was water, you had to pay for water. Not where it was not written about it. We will return to this hotel with pleasure, because we liked its cleanliness, location and of course the price

There are many types of breakfast salads, which are suitable for Chinese tastes, but coffee is not enough. There is only one mode, and the juice is over water. In short, don't expect too much, there is no problem to eat. Great location, 5 minutes walk from the shopping center and 7 minutes walk to the old city. The pier number is 12 minutes.

For cleanliness, safety and location (the big 3 for me), I would rate this five stars. It really was super clean, it felt super safe, and it was only a few minutes walk from Terminal A for Eckero boats. These are big factors! The room was also very well equipped with a hairdryer, plenty of towels, two nice big pillows, and soaps etc. Nice also to have a writing desk, and a blind that blocks out sun! These are all huge positives, so great job! If the following was solved, it would be a five star place! I had difficulties with check-in. I did self check-in, and I was given a room with number. There were no signs to show which way to go. However, I did find my way eventually. When I got there, I couldn't open the door, as it turns out my key card had to be authorised by reception first. So I had to go all the way back down, and through to the main hotel reception (as the express one was closed). But I had two big suitcases, so this was problematic! If there was a note saying ”those with a coronavirus pass to show, come to reception, it would be much easier. Finally, I was woken up by noisy doors - mainly from the housekeeper/s. This wasn't so much their fault, but the fault of the doors. However, I did sleep well all night until that time! If the doors could be ”soft close”, it would be much better :) Otherwise, really, it's a great place - and I would have rated it 4.5/5 or 9/10 (based on my overall experience) if TripAdvisor allowed it!

Out of service, I feel the service that the five-star hotel should have. The room said that it was upgraded for us, but in the room directly above the front door of the hotel, facing the opposite school, I feel that it is better to face the garden. Hotel breakfast is awesome, it is a single point plus self-service form, persuading the appetite is small and less, otherwise it can't be eaten, the self-service bread cake is super delicious, because I can't finish the time and pack it away. The hotel also has a private sauna, you can experience it and make an appointment in advance at the front desk. It took about 5 to 6 Euros to take a taxi from the terminal, and it will arrive in 10 minutes. The hotel is out of the old city center, and it is enough to stay in the old town for one night.

Booked this hotel purely for location alone, much cheaper than most of hotels in the old town but this is a stones throw away! Come out the hotel cross a road and you are in the old town the location is fantastic! A supermarket right next door and also the train station right at the back of the hotel. Quick and east check in reception staff very nice! Room was basic but we only paid £130 for 3 nights with breakfast! Bed was comfy enough and shower was very powerful the cleanliness of the room when we first arrived I would give maybe a 7/10 def a few things missed by cleaners a lot of dust etc but overall was fine! Breakfast was very good loads of choice , cooked and continental choices we both really enjoyed the breakfast. If you are there download BOLT app if you do want a taxi we took one to the port at a cost of £2.90 and one to the airport at a cost of £6.20! 100% recommend this hotel for location alone you cannot get better unless you want to spend the money for old town prices!

We had a comfortable two night stay at this hotel. The shower leaked into the main part of the bathroom, which could have caused an accident. However, we were careful. The room was a good size, quiet and with all the facilities you’d expect in a city hotel. Within walking distance of a large shopping centre with modern restaurants. The old town of Tallinn is also within walking distance of the hotel.

After reading some of the reviews I was concerned. But it's actually perfect for the price you pay.... Clean with a bed and en-suite. If you want more then pay more, simple. The building structure is old as you would expect. Lots of stairways and brick walls. No elevator but I did see rooms on the ground floor. A nice courtyard out back and plenty of lounge areas to relax in. Its central location is great and you can walk everywhere. Secure gate front entrance and hallway doors need room card after hours. Went with a group of friends and we all loved it. Would book it again.

Booked this hotel for a 4 night break with my partner for his 50th birthday.I upgraded to the superior room and it was fantastic with lovely room, massive bath and seating area outside. We arrived early and were able to check in to our room which was great since we had an early flight that day.Breakfast was really good but I think we misjudged the time on our last day as it was very busy due to a large group of French travellers arriving at breakfast at the same time, but the staff dealt with the rush very well. This was the first time we have traveled abroad since Covid and was a little bit apprehensive about travelling but everything was great ,even managed to squeeze a trip into Helsinki!!The hotel is just a short walk to the Old Town up a slight hill. The room was neat, quite big, there was TV, two beds arranged as one big. The towels were changed after two days. Only the floor could be cleaned as well or the broom left. A big hanger for jackets and small fridge would be great . The parking was charged extra, but the parking place seemed more like public, no gates and guards. Also trees next to parking place could make damage during big winds.

I had a meeting in Tallinn and tried a hotel where I had not stayed. I wanted a hotel with a sauna. Braavo Spa hotel sounded nice and it was close to where I had the meeting. After a quick check in I went through a myriad of corridors before I found the room. The name Spa hotel is misguiding, it should be named Sports club with some rooms. I got a feeling that I was at a football training camp, where the green and orange walls would fit perfectly. However, the room was clean except around the room ventilation. Everything in the room was working, enough sockets and a basic bed. Everything was basic! There were no soap in the bathroom except beside the shower. The temperature in the room was fine and the WiFi worked. After a mediocre breakfast I went to find the sauna. There were a lot of them, but everyone was closed during the day, except for the salt sauna and the ”saunatorium” I started with the salt sauna to clean up and then to the 45 degrees ”saunatorium” after 20 min a bunch of older ladies came in with a soviet style yoga instructor who was very rude. I sat in the corner and they had 95% of the sauna for themselves, still the Soviet woman basically threw me out with no motivation. The only reason I stayed at that hotel was to get a sauna, now I did not even got that. Very unsatisfying. The only things on the plus side was that they had a luggage room and that the staff was helpful. The gym facilities were very good.

A very nice, centrally located hotel. Last summer, our experience was even better. The staff was very efficient and friendly. This time, they seemed a bit confused, more limited in language skills, and not that experienced. Besides, we parked in the parking place that the hotel earlier used, assuming it's the same, and were surprised by a parking fine the next morning. It was only then that we learned that the hotel has changed their parking space to another location. But all in all, it was a positive experience again. The room was nice. The breakfast was good. The location is optimal.

Great Value for money and decent location. Some very noisy other guests on our floor, who kept running up and down the corridors and slamming doors but that’s not the hostels fault. We didn’t use the common areas. We had a twin room which was a good size with a private bathroom. Bathroom was clean except the shower which was mouldy and smelled. Not often staff on duty if there was a problem but the location was fantastic for the old town! Check out the banned bookshop next door too, it’s pretty cool!

Stayed in this hotel for one night in order to take a flight in the morning. The hotel is in a short walking distance from Tallinn airport and next door to a big shopping center. The hotel was very quiet, probably not very full due to Covid. The room is a bit dated but otherwise ok, quite spacious actually. I did not really like the shower solution in the bathroom with no shower cabin, just a curtain - the water went everywhere. The breakfast had average selection of everything. My kids had oatmeal porridge and found it nice. There was soy milk for coffee available on request, otherwise not too many vegan options. The hotel staff was friendly and polite. All-in-all ok hotel to stay if you need to take an early flight, as it is very close to the airport, otherwise I would stay somewhere nicer in the city.

A short walk from passenger terminal A, Old town and with tram stops close by, the location of the hotel was very central and easy to access. The facade has been preserved, and the hotel itself is built within the former factory. The hotel itself is modern, and common areas are tidy. The room was clean, but showed some wear and tear, and sadly the air conditioner managed only to produce noise - an issue I informed the reception on my first day but which was never corrected and didn't hear about since. The window opened to hallway and not outside, the room was constantly a bit too warm and humid. The bed was comfortable though, and the room was otherwise very quiet.

This hotel opened last autumn after a complete renovation. Now it is a stylish city hotel, centrally located next to Viru Center. There came an affordable package offer where two nights in the best Sauna Suite and the ferry tickets were together 384 euros. If bought separately, the ferry tickets would have been 4 x 25 euros and the Sauna Suite 2 x 246 euros (Club One offer) or 2 x 294 euros (normal flexible rate including breakfast). Now we paid only 142 euros per night for the suite. We have stayed in October 2016 in the same suite. Only the bathroom furniture including the bathtub was the same. Everything else had been replaced. The decor was stylish. The living room felt much bigger now. There were two small things but they felt quite irritating. I had to connect to the room wifi at least ten times with my Windows laptop. My partner with an iPad had to do that only once. Also, the Finnish TV channel YLE1 lost its signal every 10 minutes for a couple of minutes and then came back. The breakfast was good. The food selection was quite wide. The juices were far too sugary. The staff was very friendly, especially in the reception and in the lobby bar. One thing that was quite special and probably not to everyone's taste was the staircase that acted as a gym.

I stayed at Kalev Spa Hotel for 1 night. I booked through the hotel website and got the package which included the Oasis spa. I really enjoyed my stay and wish I could have stayed longer. The room was spacious, clean and modern. You can control the temperature in your room. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was really nice, there was plenty to choose from and they had pancakes; I love pancakes. I didn't have dinner at the hotel, but I did have a dessert in the evening and it was lovely. However the best part of the hotel has to be the Oasis spa. We were the only ones in the spa when we visited. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We used a number of different baths and saunas and then soaked our feet in a salt bath while we sipped tea and cocktails. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I think it's great for both couples and families as they also have the water park. The location is great. I could easily walk to all the local attractions. I will definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit Tallinn.
