This hotel is used by many workers, leaving in the morning to the construction site and returning in the evening. At return they all use the washing machines, so at this time there is mostly none available. The rooms are average and clean. Beds are made daily and also the towels are renewed daily. The room has AC, TV, fridge and water cooker. The room has a private bathroom with toilet, sink and a small bath. Toiletries are available at the reception. Breakfast is a buffet with a small amount of Western and Japanese breakfast items. Simple but fine. From 24:00 till 07:00 there is nobody at the reception and you have to enter with a code. There is no bar or restaurant, but there are 2 vending machines with drinks. The hotel is at about 10min walking distance from the station and centre.

I booked this hotel because we were planning to go to Setouchi Islands but all the accommodations surrounding the area were already fully booked, which I suspect because it was on golden week. The other choice that I manage to find was a dodgy looking (love) hotel in Okayama area, so of course I decided to book this hotel. When I finally arrived in Japan, it's a pleasant surprise that Kurashiki is a beautiful quaint small town and this hotel is really close to the train station. Although we have to take local train (we use JR pass kansai wide area) to Okayama where we can continue to Uno port, it not really a bother because it's only a 5 mnt trip anyway and the local trains are always available. The hotel itself is very clean, with brand new beds and bathroom fittings. The bathroom is a bit small, especially for a tall male. Although it located near the station, you don't hear much of the crowd because it located on the side area of the station. Considering the price (really cheap comparing to other hotels in Okayama area), it's really a nice place to stay if you plan to go sightseeing all day and only come back at night for a rest. The drawbacks are the hotel staffs can't speak English, but it wont become a problem as long as you have a proper booking id and passport. And I suspect because it's a small town, there's almost no one who can speak a proper English, you can ask around on Starbucks located on the other side of station if you really need some help.

We had a twin room with two double beds. The daughter had a triple room. The carpet clean. The bathroom was clean and smelled fine. It had adequate facilities for a perfectly convenient hotel to the station and the old town. Would use it again if we visited old Kurashiki again. There were sufficient clothes hooks and hangars - one thing that is always in short supply in Ryokans is hanging space for coats and used towels. There was a good heater and a good tv. The beds were a little tired looking and in need of repair as were the mattresses but the protectors and sheets were clean and even though beds a bit springy were dtill comfortable. We had a room on the traffic side, and it was not too bad and didn't interrupt my sleep. Breakfast looked good but we opted out as we wanted just yoghurt and banana. The twin corner room is roomier. Single room a bit on the small side. Curtains had been refurbished, floor carpet also, but not the side strip of carpet Price and location all a factor. It's not five star but we found it good for the night's stay and good value.

The room is small as expected. However the car park is great. It could accommodate around 32 cars with height limit 1.55m. The charge is very reasonable at 500 yen per night. The entrance is a bit difficult to find. The breakfast offers rice and bread.

5 minutes walk from Kurashiki station. The area in front of the station where you can check in without getting wet even on rainy days. Restaurants and shops line up from Kurashiki Station to the Bikan area, and the entire area around the hotel, including the Kurashiki Bikan area, is bustling every day.

The 1st and 3rd floors are made of cloth, and the rooms on the 2nd floor are decorated with denim to give you a feel for local traditional crafts. The main color differs depending on the room, so I try to enjoy it no matter how many times I stay.In addition, the bathroom equipped with slippers and a hairdryer is a good place to relieve the fatigue of the day. With a beautiful environment, coupled with meticulous and thoughtful service, the hotel's leisure area will surely meet your quality needs.

The most comfortable and pillows!!! After our early morning and ton of walking, the beds here were heavenly. The staff amazing. The marble bathtub was huge. I read some negative comments about how dated the rooms were but we clearly had a renovated one. The Ivy and the Dormy Inn, both with public baths, were my top choices for Kurashiki but fully booked. So this was the only option available for the tour package I booked. The Japanese breakfast the next morning was also amazing. Did not expect to like it as much as I did. Prices can run much higher than the deal we got. But we felt lucky to stay here.

While the decor is a bit old fashioned, the room was a good size. Everything was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and it was easy to check in and out. As we were only there for one night (to see the canal and historic quarter) that was all we needed - the location was very handy! It’s just a short walk to the main sites. It wasn’t an expensive hotel so I didn’t really expect much more than that. It’s a convenient base to explore Kurashiki from and very easy/quick to get to from the train station.

This is not a bad little three star hotel, it has some good points but depends what you want. We walked down from Kurashiki Station because not too far with rolling luggage but it was a hot day so it was nice to be immediately presented with cold towels by reception. We checked right in although a little bit early which also appreciated. Room a bit small but you could just about walk round the bed. Hard bed and hard pillow but high point was to find an actual real shower not a stupid tub thing so extra points for that. Lighting nicely controlled from one bedside but Dormy have this really dumb idea of a motion controlled light by the door. Fine but at a certain time in life you tend to get up in the night which puts the bright light on and wakes everyone up. The fix is to catch the light when it is off and give the bulb a slight anticlock twist so it is permanently off. Problem solved. Hotel is just a few seconds walk from the historic district which is very convenient as that is the main purpose of visiting Kurashiki. So far so good, except that they advertise specifically a breakfast with elements for both Japanese and Western tastes. Well sorry no they don’t. Nothing wrong with the food but it is all Japanese. Fruit is minimal and even the junk tinned fruit runs out very quickly, no bacon or tomatoes and funny little toasts. You can make the best of it but a traction toaster would make life easier for guests and even the Japanese would probably appreciate some smoked salmon and other sashimi. It is ok and not expensive but if they advertise western breakfast they should provide it. Free lobby coffee was well used and apparently free basic ramen after 9.00pm if you still need a snack by then. However the hotel is surrounded by decent ramen places so I got my regular fix. I would actually recommend the hotel but they do need to up their game a little bit and not rely too much on tour groups.
