I have grown quite fond of the American Motel model, getting cheap convenient non-fussy accommodation to sleep and move on. But here we hit rock bottom. Besides the obvious instinct to try and not touch anything The room was smelling of old cigarette smoke so badly that i basically had prepared my departure in such a way that I could storm out of the place within 30 seconds of finishing my shower. Else I would have smelt like that old cigarette myself for the entire day. So if you can spend a few dollars more and don’t stay here. I won’t.

Just needed a place to crash before catching the Amtrak Coast Starlight the next morning. In kind of a rundown area but close to the Amtrak Station in Emeryville. Very small room with microwave and frig. No coffee. No where close to eat if you are using Lyft for transportation. Queen size bed that was not very comfortable but it worked for what we needed. Lyft fare from Oakland Airport to motel and then to train station the next morning was total of $26 plus tips. Lyft driver stopped at Burger King so we could get some breakfast. If I was doing it again I would probably try to find another place.

We consider this motel in Oakland area a very good choice of value-for-money, if you want to avoid staying in very small (and worn-out) motel rooms in downtown San Francisco. We had a rental car, so driving to downtown San Francisco (or in fact anywhere) was not a problem at all. The motel provides free parking. This motel was renovated just two years ago, rooms are reasonably sized and kept very clean. If you want to use public transport, the motel is only 15-minute's walk from the nearest BART. Service at the front desk was friendly and responsive. The only drawback about this motel is its neighborhood it is located in......you will want to take care if you want to walk the streets at night.

This worked out at about half the cost of a small hotel room in SF. Stayed for 6 nights. A good choice. Room was modern, clean, comfortable and well serviced. Reception friendly and helpful. Free WiFi. Location was good for motorists - next to major road intersection and just off the freeway. Also very good if you're relying on pubic transport. BART MacArthur is 5 minutes walk - could be downtown SF within 20 minutes of walking out of my room - which is better than staying in a budget hotel in SF where road traffic at peak times really holds you up. Location seemed safe enough to me. Overall I was very satisfied with the place and would definitely stay again.

Very impressed by the Broadway Motel. A friend and I have been traveling down the west coast and were a bit skeptical of this location at first due to the location and 'motel' in the name.... 5 freaking star!!! The owners were very helpful in getting us a last min room, even allowing us to check into our room 2 hrs before normal check-in! The inside of the room looks like a cute beach feel hotel while the outside protects you and your car behind coded gates. Nighttime is even better... they have those cute Costco lights that hang in-between the complex for a fully lit entrance and exit from your room to your car! Very happy with this experience... this is actually the 3rd review I have ever left..... That's how the Broadway Motel exceeded my expectations and experience in DT Oakland!!! Thank you!

Booked in a two-bedroom apartment suite, there are two rooms, each with a double bed and bathroom, a kitchen and living room in the middle, a microwave oven with a microwave oven, and a cup, plate and dishware. Very suitable for family living. There is a big bird on the tree outside the small balcony. There are many yachts in the small bay. Walking along the front road to the right, there is a German restaurant, German sausage and beer taste really good. The hotel's free breakfast is OK. Three kinds of sausages are eaten a day. One day there are bacon patties sausages, milk cereals, homemade waffles, and several kinds of bread jams. Originally, I wanted to live in San Francisco, but I said that the roads in the city are relatively ups and downs, the one-way line is complicated, and the parking cost is high. So I live in Auckland. It is convenient to drive the Auckland Bridge to San Francisco for two consecutive days. I found a Guilin rice noodle shop nearby in the evening, and it tastes so good! ! !

The rooms are pretty standard and cozy, but the bathrooms have been beautifully updated. Rooms may be a little small, but are always kept super clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the headboards are lined with mirrors for romantic fun. The rooms and bathroom amenities are very welcoming to weary travelers after a long day of driving. Keep in mind that these are smoking rooms. Very convenient for some, but just be aware if you do not like the smell or are travelling with children. The inside is definitely a wonderful contrast to the outdated exterior. Oakland is a pretty bad neighborhood in general from what I've seen, but this is more of a hidden gem in the rough. One night were were the last guests to arrive for the night and they asked if we would be going out again, as they lock the parking lot once all guests are in for the night. This made us feel very safe, not many places around here had free parking on the premises, so to add the extra safety of the locked gate was awesome. The staff is very friendly, and also very accommodating to our requests for extra towels and also when we needed a late check out during one stay. We feel very welcome here and have returned a few times whenever we drive through this area, we always recommend this place to friends who may be going up or down the coast.

I don't understand some other, critical, negative reviews here. They don't match my experience. I liked my stay here so much that I'm back again. Yes, this is a motel and it's a great deal at the price. Yes, the little soap bars are a mere gesture. Personally, I bring my own soaps, shampoos, etc. when I travel. There have been plenty of clean towels in my rooms. The rooms have been clean and in good condition. All basic amenities have been fine. Staff has been friendly, attentive and helpful. And the location right on the estuary shore is fantastic. I enjoy the quiet, peaceful setting, along with sunsets out my window and leisurely lunch at a picnic table shaded by trees on sunny afternoons, or a brisk morning stroll to grab a coffee at Starbucks. There's even a fishing pier with cleaning station! See pic below for view from my room/balcony toward downtown Oakland skyline. The downside to location is that it's comparatively remote. But that's how we get such nice features at the price!

This is the only high-end motel in the United States for 10 days, and the rest are Sheraton or Marriott. The reason why I live here is because I bought the tickets for the Warriors Oracle Center, which is relatively close. But the hotel is still a bit biased, the window of a car at the door was smashed, showing that the law and order is not good. There was a smell in the room, and ants were found on the bed. Fortunately, I stayed for one night.

A beautiful waterfront property, just an easy hotel for travel needs in Oakland. My travel typically involves crossing the Bay, so it's location is ideal. Although the original architecture of the building may be less than exciting, its current design has the typical Joie De Vivre quality of chic, contemporary and comfortable we've all come to expect. Excellent service has been my only experience, with staff eager to help me with my questions and needs. My travel to Oakland will always include the Waterfront Hotel.

It is surrounded by factories, warehouses and the like. The price is indeed a bit expensive, and the price is not high. There is also a beer bottle left by the former guest in the room. Surroundings and room hygiene are not flattering. The first score was not high.

- Close to the airport - Free Shuttle (previous reviews said it was a small van - not anymore! Nice size) - Excellent service from the staff - VERY clean rooms (and I'm a fanatic about clean) - Very nice decor - soothing and classy - not the bright gaudy colors you find at some places - Ample room to relax or sit at a desk and work - really love the double desk setup. We pulled the table out to eat at in the evening which was really nice. - Some rooms have a balcony with table and chairs. - We were on the backside so it was very quiet. - The bed was AWESOME - just perfect. - VERY well lit parking. - Breakfast and dinner on-site at the Bistro. - LOTS of food places nearby and Uber Eats or Door Dash delivers right to the room - This room anywhere else would be $250 - we paid $102. MORE than worth it!! I have NO complaints about this place. We only planned to stay one night and ended up staying 2. Everyone was very accommodating and we had nothing but great service. I'll be back any time I need to stay in this area. Oakland Airport just became my favorite place to fly out of because of this hotel. The only thing that makes is better is flying with JSX - every seat is a first-class seat and no waiting for TSA. Check them out - they are about 6 blocks from this hotel so SUPER convenient. JSX.com

Breakfast is good. In order to see the Warriors' game live here, I like the shuttle bus service. Because of the law and order in Auckland, it is quite late to watch the game. It is just that the hotel can pick up and drop off to watch the game and call to wait a few minutes to get there. If a person comes to the game, recommend this hotel.

On our way from Denver to Kauai and back a week later heading home, we stayed over in Oakland at the Springhill Suites by Marriott Oakland Airport. Both times we requested shuttle service to and from the airport. Both nights when we arrived at OAK we were picked up by the shuttle driver called Abraham. Abraham recognized us from the week before and remembered we were from Denver and that we went to Kauai. He was really personable; I usually hate talking to folks, but he was an exception, he's so nice and endearing. The checkin agent both times were stellar in their customer service skills. We ate at the hotel's own England Bar & Grill, I had their carbonara which was way above average for hotel food (I'd order it again in a heartbeat) and my partner enjoyed the Roasted Vegetable Salad with Chicken. The rooms were fresh and clean, the hotel is only about 6 months old as of this writing. I loved this hotel both times! Great place to stay, very quiet (never heard a plane), and a great value for the Bay Area, price wise. Check it out.

I and my family regularly stay in Hamptons. The value is pretty much unmatched. That being said, this is the BEST one I have ever stayed in. Everything was just a little bit better. The rooms were large, beds comfortable, plenty of power for computers and mobile devices, bathroom updated and very functional (extra credit for the ledge below the mirror), small fridge, they even had the European power cut-off for the environmentally conscious. Here are some really nice touches: black out shade that actually worked, a privacy screen that let light in, and a 60 inch TV that allowed you to play your streaming channels (Netflix, YouTubeTV, etc.). The basic internet was fast enough to stream video to my laptop without issues. The TV extend from the wall nicely so I could use it as a second monitor to my computer (I had to unplug the hdmi for the hotel cable and use my cord -- but it worked fine.) Lastly, even the breakfast was a little bit better. It was 2 blocks to the convention center, China town, and plenty of restaurants. It's a winner!

During Ctrip's stay of 21/7 to 24/7 for three nights, I was told that Ctrip had no reservations, because I arrived at the hotel at 10:30 in the evening, contacted Ctrip, and was tossed for 3 hours. Finally, Ctrip helped. I booked another Hilton hotel and had to rush to stay for one night. I booked this hotel for the other two nights. This Ctrip service attitude is still very good, admit that I did not book a hotel, the final solution is also satisfactory, but I still hope that Ctrip is not making such mistakes, after all, in the middle of the night can stay in the hotel, the angry feeling can be imagined And know. Let's talk about this hotel, the staff service is very good, the hotel is clean and hygienic, it is very convenient to go to downtown San Francisco, and will stay again next time.

This hotel is not good, the facilities are old, the rooms are large and the smell is unpleasant. Breakfast is simple, there is no elevator, and the first floor is a bar plus restaurant. In the early hours of the morning, I heard the sound of screaming outside, not firecrackers or gunshots. My advice is to either stay at a better hotel at a higher price or go to a cheaper Motel.
