Hotel is clean, located near to the big train station and therefore it was easy to get everywhere from there. Nice breakfast with several choices of bread, cheese etc, nothing warm to eat like porridge or fried eggs. Coffee is okey but not great. Family rooms have kettle on the picture which we did not have in our room, also we didn't have fridge which my parents had in their double room. No air conditioner. Bar downstairs is a very nice thing to have. Can have coffee or beer whenever you like. Reception was very helpful and nice. Overall we liked our stay very much there.

Before I comment the hotel, I would really like to mention the Receptionist Mo!! He was at the check in when I got there, and immediately saw his positive energy and vibe and at the same time professionalism, which is very important as it’s the first impression when you step in the hotel. He also speaks couple of foreign languages such as Russian, English, Italian, German... Very smart and polite guy, and really hope he will be soon upgraded to a higher position in the company as I’m sure he’s capable of managing more complexed stuff, situations and business decisions. Amazing guy!! Also, another young receptionist Ane, I loved talking to her on Spanish and we laughed a lot during my stay. Very cool persona and her English, is just brilliant with nice accent! As A Moxy lover, I have to say that this Hotel, again, was very modern, cool, funky, colors and decoration everywhere, the Vespa at the entrance... Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the view not bad at all. Water pressure in the shower was perfect! Breakfast was good too. The location is great, only 300m to the S Bahn/U Bahn lines, very good connection with the city and Tegel Airport. I believe the Gym is great as well, it must be a stunning view at the area around the hotel... If you want a 5 star service and you don’t want to pay the fortune for it, book immediately this hotel!

I want to hear the truth and look down. The location is really good, 128 bus directly from the airport can point to the hotel. Not far from connecting the subway in all directions. Breakfast is indeed good. But still advise you not to live, haha 1. The whole hotel did not have air conditioning in the summer, I experienced the window in the house is broken, can not open, but the front desk smiled to tell you that no room can let you change, you can only endure 30 degrees, then change for you tomorrow, love you! 2. The Berlin Airport is not far from the city, and the hotel is not far from the airport, so if you don't want to sleep, you can count up and down every tenth of the plane. Anyway, when you see the plane, the others in the room are not very clear about you. 3. Under the hotel is a nightclub. If your room is close, then you can fall asleep at 4 in the morning. Of course, you don't care! If you ask me if European tourists are not living well? Haha, I tell you that their lifestyle is different from us, so they can bear it. I have lived in Europe for some years, believe me!

The Hotel Big Mama is an incredible value in terms of its rooms and in a really cool area with beautiful places to walk by a lovely canal. They have a Hour Hour and full bar, have breakfast and delicious coffee. But, without exception, they have the kindest most helpful staff I have encountered anywhere in the world. As a single woman, non-German speaker my first time in Berlin during the times of COVID, I had a lot of anxiety about everything from where to get my Covid test to fly home, to safety about walking. Every staff member made me feel welcome, was incredibly helpful, and was a unique and interesting person to get to meet and connect with. There is nothing more important when you are staying somewhere you don't know than feeling you are valued and can make connections with people. I am deeply grateful to the staff at Hotel Big Mama for making me feel at home. A huge shout out in particular to Marlen, Mila, Joanne and Walid-- THANK YOU for making my stay in Germany a welcome one and taking such good care of me.

My wife booked a trip to Berlin for us and our three year old for my birthday. It took about 20 minutes or so in a taxi from Tegel airport. Once we walked into the courtyard it looked quite impressive. Check in was easy, we were put in to room 218. Was a little frustrating that once we left the elevator I had to carry our daughter’s pushchair down 17 steps to get to our room. The room itself was huge with two room and four beds in total. The room was a little dated but I’m not sure if that’s indicative of hotels in Germany. Plenty of seating available in the room. Bathroom was a decent size and clean. The minibar was well stocked although a little expensive, as per. After a long morning travelling I had a bottle of Radeberger which was €3.10 We walked down Stettiner Straße to the Gesundbrunnen Centre to get something to eat, took about 15 minutes. Breakfast on the first morning was great, plenty of hot food and continental options, day two and three not so much, with the latter made more difficult as there was a party of at least 200 people in for an event. Not sure what it was but most people were wearing traditional German lederhosen etc. We ate in the hotel on the first night, I had currywurst and my wife had the schnitzel, they were both good but probably could have gotten better elsewhere. We walked in to Berlin centre twice, once headed towards the central station/reichstag and the other towards Alexanderplatz. Both journeys took over an hour but it was good to see the city, even if some of it was run down. We’ve been all over the world and my marker is “would I be comfortable letting my wife walk around on her own at night” didn’t feel to unsafe here but the area is covered in graffiti so looks worse than it probably is. Taxis back to the hotel cost about €20-€25 depending on where we were travelling from in Berlin city centre. The staff were pleasant, never had a reason to speak to them but it seemed as if they’d be helpful if needed. Wouldn’t be against staying here again but would probably look for something more central if we were to visit again.

The hotel is good value for money. If you travel by Uber, it is also convenient. It is not far from the subway station, but I have not taken the subway. The hotel reception can also call a car. Downstairs is the EDEKA supermarket, which is very complete. The hotel is about five minutes to the west. There is a German restaurant on the left side of the road. The pork elbow + beer package is good. There is a small shopping mall in the south for 10 minutes. There is a supermarket MIDEA supermarket, a living supermarket KAUFLAND, a drugstore chain DM, and a Vietnamese restaurant. The Vietnamese rice noodles are very authentic. Originally booked two single rooms with single breakfast, and later a colleague stayed for breakfast, there is no charge, the key is this non-smoking room, they smoked, first received a hotel warning letter, such as smoking again , it is fine 500 euros

Location is awesome. It's almost like living in a park atmosphere. Lots of walking trails nearby, close to downtown and most of the major tourist attractions, but still in a quiet area. Public transit is readily available (bus stop right across the street, and several trams within short walking distance). Front desk staff were incredible throughout our 5-day stay there -- from check-in to check out. As we were in Germany to assist a family member, ours was more like a working holiday than a relaxing one and although our personal circumstances were seemingly constantly in flux, the staff were EXTREMELY courteous and helpful in adapting our reservations several times. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. There is a nice beer garden in the back where you can get an early start on "the German experience", but don't worry about all-night partying or rowdiness...it closes around 9:00 p.m. so, even though we had a room right above it, the noise was never an issue. Rooms are well-soundproofed so getting a good night's sleep was never a problem either. I would give this place more stars if possible, primary due to the outstanding staff and service provided during our stay. This will definitely be our "go-to" place whenever we are in Berlin.

Ocak (January) was a very pleasant surprise for our 4 days stay in Berlin. My wife’s criteria for choosing it was the bath tube and the private parking. And as we arrived we realized that was a wonderful choice. The rooms are spacious, queen size bed comfortable (much appreciated the extra pillows), more than decent wardrobe, a small kitchenette that we didn’t use, cozy living area and a generous bathroom with a pretty big bath tube. Everything clean & tide. Also a safe is available for your valuables. Parking place was the other surprise. As we were traveling all the way to Finland, our car was loaded with luggages. And Ocak has a perfect safe place in the i underground parking in which the access is done by elevator (the whole process takes about 4-5 minutes). The elegant restaurant was the perfect place for the variated breakfast (delicious and fresh). U fortunately it was not opened for dinner, and same for the bar (that had a good selection of drinks) because of the Covid situation. In less that a km you will find restaurants, a shopping mall and also a train and underground train station which makes the access to the touristic attractions (plenty) l very easy. We were delighted to find out that the hotel is owned by a turkish living in Berlin (and you can see in this in the attentions for details, architecture and guest oriented attitude) and that the employees - extremely helpful, kind & friendly are also turkish (delighted as Turkey is our souls home country, and if Covid kept us away from it, Ocak did a great job to makes us feel a little bit like being there). If there is something more that I would like from this hotel, that would be a balcony (as a smoker) and a minibar. But this won’t keep us away from returning here very soon and to highly recommend this wonderful location. Thank you Ocak for existing and for making us feel like home!

The location is good, it is very convenient to go to various attractions, and you can walk or take public transportation. Shopping around is very convenient. Reception front desk and doorman service are very good and very polite. The hotel's decoration style is more ancient, and it doesn't matter if it is different from person to person. It is difficult to comment. What the individual doesn't like is the breakfast mode provided by the hotel. The buffet style on the table is only a small variety of bread, butter, cheese, sliced meat, a little fruit, a little juice and so on. Any omelet or egg, or sausage, or hot vegetables, must be ordered in a variety of language menus provided by a single door. Although the speed of serving after ordering is OK, the taste is average and even disappointing. The taste of the drink is average. The overall feeling of the hotel's breakfast quality is not worth the price it sells. In particular, if you are accustomed to eating a self-service rich breakfast, you may not be able to adapt to this breakfast mode.

We always tend to stay here when in Berlin as the location is perfect for the gay area. Hotel staff are very friendly & accommodating. Room was warm & comfy but some of the furnishings are looking a little outdated now. Cleaner didn’t automatically come every day which was disappointing - no doubt another ridiculous Covid19 rule. The fridges with minibar seem to have been removed from the room which is a little annoying - shall we blame covid19 for that too?! The hotel also expects you to wear face masks which is a bit unnecessary as you can walk round any bar, restaurant, or shopping centre now without the need for a mask. I don’t blame the staff In the hotel for this rule but the company needs to get a grip & realise that most travellers are fully vaccinated now. How else could we have got to Germany in the first place? Having said that, we would stay here again as overall the facilities & location are good.

I have seen many hotels in Berlin and this one is by far the cleanest/most hygenic one! Especially now during Corona times, they literally send their cleaning team to sanitize door handles etc. every hour and they have a full no-contact check-in and check-out system that works by a telephone service that is always there for you. The cozy rooms and excellent location at Rosethaler Platz makes the stay just perfect. A secret tip: ask for one of their "signature rooms", created by local Berlin artists (no additional costs charged). Definitely a recommendation for everyone!

Ive known Axel Hotels from Barcelona and enjoyed the great atmosphere but this stay was not great. Room was clean enough, small but pleasant, nice features with fancy radio in mirror (didn’t work) and fancy light switches (cool but lit blue all night so not great for people who like dark bedrooms). House keeping didn’t refill shower gel nor shampoo during a 3 day stay and let’s say Covid measures were light hearted… and then the Saturday night 5am party is great for everyone on the corridor. Walls are so thin that we woke up and had to listen to the discussion in front of our door whether they should sleep on this floor or somewhere else - which made me wonder whether it was partying staff or anyone with access cards coming back? No one at reception anyway to handle it. Gym looked impressive- weights, cable machine a couple of cardio machines- but had one disinfectant spray bottle of 250ml from Dm, no wipes, no paper to wipe the spray and also not even the request to guests to make sure people disinfect the equipment used. One gym mat which looked like rice paper it was so worn. Restaurant upstairs with Peruvian kitchen looked nice enough, be sure to brush up on your school Spanish though if trying to order. Checked out this morning and while I noted at check in that this was a business trip, I was still asked to pay tourist tax which I declined. Two hours later, just about to board the plane I see a charge for the tax coming through. Fraudulent.

A great hotel in a central location. The breakfast was great, although the atmosphere was pretty noisy taking into account the huge number of people staying at the hotel. The only disadvantage is that for parking I was not able simply to drive into the parking garage, although it says that no prior reservation is needed, so I suppose I had to call the hotel in advance and tell them I'm coming with a car. So I would advise Ctrip to update this part of the information. Nevertheless, if you want to pay 10€ instead of the 22€ a day for parking in the hotel's parking garage, you can consider the parking area at Gleisdreieck, which is around 5 minutes on foot from the hotel.

We spent 3 days at Gorki last week, slightly early Valentine’s trip. We love it as it’s just easy here, spacious apartment, clean, modern, great location and in one of the best cities in world! We cooked one day and ate out the rest of the time. With so many bars and restaurants within walking distance, you are spoilt for choice! Regarding the review below, not sure what that’s about, we’ve never had any issues, hence our third visit and not our last. Also, we just loaded the dishwasher ourself, we didn’t need the room attendant to do it! Love the personal service too, when we booked our visit, Constance messaged me the list of rooms to choose from, from the category we had booked. This was great as each apartment is different, no 2 are exactly the same. We are working our away across the different categories :) We asked for a late check out and were told it was €50, we declined that, but we were able to stay in the room until 1pm.
