On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome by the reception staff, our room was extremely spacious, clean with a well-stocked hospitality tray, the slippers & bathrobes were definitely an added bonus. Large free car park with plenty of parking available and despite been a little way out of Plymouth City centre the road links and frequent public transport made it easy to get out and about. We thought our stay was good value for money and would definitely stay again if in the Plymouth area. Many thanks

|0.71km from city centerThe beds are excellent quality. The hotel is well-located. I second the mention of James on reception, a most helpful person. Yet on the whole the atmopsphere was sterile. Taxis tend only to pick up from a cul-de-sac at the back of the hotel unless one remonstrates with them. Room service finishes quite early in mid-evening. I tried the food twice. Once some late night food from the bar (avocado and egg salad with overly acidic grains) which I didn't finish. Once for the breakfast room, depressing atmosphere, though there was the usual tick-box selection of cooked and cold food. If you want a *nice* breakfast go to Prime Cafe Bar on Ebrington Street , just a few minutes walk, it's much more welcoming and wholesome. Leonardo Hotel is a functional business hotel, slight better than the cheapest 'Lodge'-type places and with decent sized rooms. But it lacks any soul. Although well-situated in terns of being close to several facilities, the view from the windows across the street is equally bleak, lifted only slightly by a Dominos Pizza take-away interjected in nondescript vista.

Not high expectations to be honest but we were really surprised how well equipped the apartment was and comfy. After long day out we actually were so glad to get in and cook our own and felt like at home. Also the apartment was spotless!! Even simple thing like washing up liquid, sponge, EVERYTHING available! Reception staff both at check in and check out were friendly too. We stayed in King Deluxe.

Some of my thoughts below: Pros * Great tasting food, we had lunch and breakfast * Clean Rooms * Use of Spa was brilliant * Excellent service from staff * Robes and flip flops a great addition * Coffee facilities in the room were good, could do with adding decaf tea to the selection though Cons * Bedroom is far too hot (used the fan in cupboard) * Spa was overcrowded at times (not enough seats) * Some areas of the spa were a little bit grubby, swimming pool floor was quite dirty. Some of the Extractor Fan covers in the steam rooms were covered in rust. Paint coming off the wall in changing rooms. * Payment at end was confusing, we are still not sure whether the payment we made was correct. The hotel needs to consider the use an itemised bill process, as the room upgrade for breakfast was confusing… * Mentioned we were there for a birthday several times, but wasn’t given any special additions like other 5* hotels we have been to in the past Overall a good experience, but a few tweaks could make it 5 star!

|0.96km from city centerI have been staying with the Kynance house for most of the year and the previous as a place to say whilst traveling up to university. Matt and Jenny, John and Maddy and the whole team at Kynance were incredible throughout my whole time with them. They were all warm and welcoming and made me feel like family. I can't fault them and would recommend them to everyone. The BnB is situated a stones throw away from the most beautiful views over the Hoe. And if you ask John nicely, he'll give you a local scavenger hunt of all the historical areas of Plymouth you probably wouldn't have known otherwise! The second B in BnB was always amazing. Matt does the best scrambled eggs which i pretty much lived on throughout my stay. Not to mention the amazing portion sizes at dinner! I don't think I ever managed to finish a meal as much as i wanted to! Any the whole team is so warm. Almost every evening when i would get back from a long day at uni, i was always greeted by warmth and asked how my day was, which would almost always end in a cupa tea and an evening chatting away down stairs. I can't say enough good things about them.

Both rooms were clean, comfortable, modern looking with great en-suite facilities. Cassandra Guest house is positioned within easy reach of the theatre, Barbican and the Hoe. Breakfast was all you could wish for, full English as well as toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt. served in a friendly, efficient manner. I would certainly stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

If you have to get up in the middle of the night to use the toilet, put your foot on the floor and a sensor lights up under the bed and under a shelf in the bedroom, so no stumbling about in the dark, fantastic. Highly recommended.

|0.87km from city centerWhat a great hotel - perfectly positioned for the theatre, restaurants and visiting the city/shops. Handily it also has free parking, first come first served. Our bedroom (we were upgraded on arrival) was very spacious and clean. It was especially nice to have armchairs in the room to make it more comfortable to sit and read without the need to perch on the bed or sit on the dressing table chair. The hotel provides a great choice at breakfast - fruit juice, yogurts, fruit, cereal, croissants etc as well as a great choice of hot options. More importantly to the enjoyment of our stay was that all the staff made us feel really welcome and did everything with genuine smiles. We loved it and will definitely stay here when we visit Plymouth again.

Breakfast is never rushed even if we arrived down a bit later than most people. Also, for a small charge we can park in the hotel car park which is a bonus.

|0.12km from city centerStayed for 12 nights as on a two week training course in Plymouth, nice comfortable room, all amenities available hot and cold drinks (cold kept in room fridge, found the fridge handy to store extra milk!) as not keen on the cartons of milk nice hot shower and bath however shower does take a while to warm up bed and towels changed daily, hotel good location and easy access to all Plymouth attractions within walking distance beware if on foot of the hills! as the hotel is at the top of a hill, good selection at breakfast and nice friendly staff and good to see the hotel manager around the hotel greeting guests at breakfast, also nice to get a complimentary drinks voucher a nice touch too. and a nice fitness suite for guests to use,a few minor issues slight peel on wallpaper in room, warm room had to keep fan on or open window also as light sleeper and at back of hotel could hear students in the student flats opposite and the seagulls flying around all night

|0.17km from city centerWe had three of the six rooms at One Caprera guest house, and all were spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, modern ensuites with large shower cubicle and powerful showers! A small table with two chairs and kettle, with tea/coffee/hot chocolate. All the rooms were cozy in size, as to be expected in a house conversion, with a slightly larger ”master” bedroom on the top floor, all decorated to a high standard and well maintained. A decent sized smart TV with Netflix was a refreshing change from the usual disappointing hotel TV's! Their is a family sized dining room with a large dining table, sofa and TV for communal eating, and a lovely kitchen that appeared to have quite a lot of staple items in the cupboards for those who might wish to cook their meals. We were only visiting for a funeral, and didn't use it, but it had a nice homely but modern feel to it. A private walled area outside with table and chairs provides an area for the smokers in the group, or for enjoying the gorgeous Devon air and eating in the sunshine. Communication with Christine was fantastic, a very professional and welcoming manner. We stayed during the lockdown for our mums funeral, and Christine could not have been more helpful or understanding, while keeping with the advice surrounding the lockdown! We never met her, keys were left securely for pick up when we arrived, and the whole place was spotlessly clean on arrival! Thank you for making an exception for our stay, I will definitely be staying here again on future visits to Plymouth, the city that still holds a piece of my heart! ❤

Nothing was too much trouble they couldn't do enough for us to make our stay comfortable. Even when the oven and grill broke Rob still managed to cook a hearty breakfast for Helen and me and the other guests. The cooker was replaced the next day with a new one. The guest house is spotlessly clean and tidy. Before we left we booked for next year. Well done Sue and Rob.

|0.9km from city centerWe stayed here 2 nights and were really impressed by this hotel, it really has everything you need, safe, mini-fridge, kettle with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits, hair-dryer, ironing board/iron, bath and shower, nice toiletries, nice towels, lovely big bed, great bed linen, kept at a nice warm temperature, it really is hard to fault this hotel in any way. Breakfast was included and was up in the penthouse with amazing panoramic views of Plymouth, breakfast itself was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had with a huge choice of hot and cold dishes, including vegetarian options. Most options were self service but there was also a menu of dishes cooked to order such as Eggs Benedict, poached eggs and salmon etc. Hotel itself was a hive of activity in the bar and restaurant on the ground floor but nice and peaceful and quiet up on our floor. One of the lifts was out of action when we were there which caused a bit of congestion and long waits with just the one lift working. Reception was friendly and efficient, we would definitely come here again, the attention to detail and affordable prices make it a really great stay. There are also other facilites here like a pool and sauna however unfortunately we didn’t have the time to use these.

The oil painting has a little bit of a Greek feel to it. The dining room where breakfast is served has some unique furnishings.
With such a price for breakfast, I think it is well worth staying. Full marks

Breakfast was really nice besides one time there was nothing there at 7am on my last day. I felt bad for the small chap (I believe he said his name was Keaton), he seemed to be the only one out and having to deal with the people however, he kept his cool and delivered exceptional customer service skills and everyone else looked at ease. It wasn’t to long then everything got back on track. Well done Keaton and well done Sutton Harbour for making me feel welcome. I will for sure be returning in the future

|1.35km from city centerTwice I have been here (last time was 2 years ago). Just as good as I remember. I had booked a twin room which was all they had left at the time (I was going alone). Apparently the room had been double booked so I was switched to a room with a double bed! I didn't complain! Pros: - Very comfy bed - Nice hot shower - Fridge in the room - Plugs are close to the bed so easy to charge your laptop while using it - Nice and clean Breakfast in the morning very nice, plenty of it too. I do have a couple of minor niggles. One is the Wifi kept dropping out during the day but worked better at night. Also the extractor fan comes on whenever you turn the bathroom light on, and stays on for a set time. This wouldnt normally bother me but in my room the fan was really loud and sounded squeaky, so if I used the bathroom in the night i'd have to not turn the light on, or suffer the noise for several minutes after. Minor issues though, would recommend this place to anyone. Close to the sea too.

|1km from city centerWe stayed for one night in August. The Duke of Cornwall is a historic Victorian building which looks amazing on the outside, it’s a very old hotel so has some querks. There was major external works so scaffolding in place and most of the building was covered in tarpaulin. We booked via a popular ”booking” site for £210 for a family room + our fur baby including breakfast. A Grand staircase leads up to all floors and these are well numbered and easy to find rooms. You can take the lift if you prefer but it is very small and a bit claustrophobic. We were in Room 410 – the room itself was huge, bedroom and bathroom, whilst huge, the room was bit 'tired' but very clean & a modernised bathroom. The bed was VERY comfy and we had a good night’s sleep. Hairdryer supplied in room – handy although it was a typical travel hairdryer so don’t expect too much. The back of the hotel is very different to the front, a bit run-down and in desperate need of sprucing up! Car parking - small car park and situated at the back of the building, with a walkway from the car park leading into the hotel and then down one floor to reception to check in. Bar area = modernised with original features and prices were reasonable. We did request a snack at about 8:30ish and was told to wait as kitchen was still open but no one came to take order - the hotel information stated the restaurant served meals from 7pm until 9:30pm daily so we were a little disappointed that we couldn’t have anything. Breakfast: was served in the bar area as we had taken our fur baby down with us. There was a choice of croissants, cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc. or cooked selection. We opted for bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and mushrooms all ordered from our table and was brought out within 5 minutes – staff were really friendly and attentive. Although the breakfast was fine it seemed expensive for the 3 of us as was £54.00. We had mixed feelings about our stay. The hotel itself is very grand in the public areas but the corridors and rooms need some attention to bring them back up to the grandeur they once were – we would stay again if rooms had an upgrade to match the rest of the hotel.

|2.6km from city centerWe arrived in the village after a long drive and need to find a dinner! The Boringdon Arms in the village of Turnchaple is quick and easy. There are many tables so no reservation is needed. The staff was very busy picking up pints, but very pleasant, and quickly got a table. Friday night is curry night! There are many choices of curry, you can choose rice or fries or half, which is fun! I don't like my fries at all, but the rice is delicious. Beer is cheap, and customers in the same industry seem to be very local. Diver from a local company: In Deep (located within walking distance of Mount Batten) is very helpful in recommending key locations to visit this week. All suggestions are great! So if you are diving try them! Obviously, the fish swimming near Plymouth are particularly amazing, especially around the shipwreck. The fish in the Plymouth Pier Aquarium support this. A traditional bar with plenty of food and good first night.
