College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center provides excellent customer service from beginning to end. I had the chance to visit this hotel recently and appreciated their level of service during this pandemic. The hotel opened two weeks ago from this posting, and their staff was more than appreciative and helpful during the four nights that I spent in it. Marriott Bonvoy loyalty was valued and felt more than appreciated for it. I was able to receive an upgrade to a one bedroom suite. Even though most of the pillows were removed during my stay, the minimalist apperance of the suite worked out at the end. The bathroom's shower head was amazing, and bed was extremely comfortable. The main building is the only only open and the conference site next door is currently closed. Even though breakfast is not being served, there is a small market place where you can get some breakfast items and they did have in room dining for dinner time. Being a college town, there are a lot of dining options available within a driveable distance and great prices as well. Also, at this point of time, University of Maryland's Global Campus has free parking available on campus until August, and one of the biggest pluses of this hotel is that parking is free and accessible 24/7. I would recommend driving and parking on campus, while walking to a few areas on campus. Finally, I would like to thank John and the front desk team that assisted me throughout the stay. They were really friendly, and truly went above and beyond to assist during these unique times. I would definitely recommend this business hotel for a near future stay to University of Maryland or a short-term stay during the weekend.

The rooms are beautiful. That's the highllght. At 2:14 AM someone rang the bell to my room and struggled to open the door. The sound woke me up, obviously. I figured it was a lost person. Went back to sleep. Ten minutes or so later, the same thing happened. Juggling on the door, a door bell, and other noise. This time, I was frightened. No phone # listed on any infogiven to me when I arrived except for the main number. I called that number. listened to possible options-then hit 0 for operator. Mailbox was full. Full! Full! A huge hotel did not have someone staffing the phone lines during the night. I called back four times trying all of the other options. Phone was disconnected. Finally I wrote to the Southern management company saying I would call the police if person returned a 3rd time. A truly frightening time--no security, no one to call. I wrote a note to the "contact us" link at 2:40 something in the morning to alert them to the fact that someone was walking the halls of my floor. Nothing. This morning, I spoke with woman at front desk and told her about what had happened. She told me we had spoken last night. No, we had not. Obviously, someone else had the same problem. I told her that the "operator" link was full--and that I could not reach anyone. she shook it off as if that was not true. Then told me that there was a power outage. Good comeback except for the fact that I had all the lights on in the room as I desperately tried to call for help. She said there was security on my floor--what? Obviously they were either asleep on the job or they did not exist. She then dismissively but with a big smile wished me a good day. As a single woman traveler, I will never stay in this hotel again. This was bad.

After going back and forth on whether or not I would book this hotel, I made the choice to. I know how stock photos work when looking at hotel pictures, but I was hopeful since the hotel is only about four years old. I don't think I could have been more impressed. The room was very very nice. I had a king size bed which was sooo plush. I have never slept on a bed that soft before. It didn't even feel like sleeping on a mattress. The room was just as pictured - open and minimalistic. I loved that!! The blinds are adjustable, and you can even set them to blackout. The carpet-free floors add to the "clean feel" of the room as well, which is important to me because I'm a clean freak. One of the best amenities is the Bluetooth-enabled mirror in the bathroom, which is really nice to have playing music while you're in there. I had a very nice and comfortable stay, and, just as others have commented, I didn't hear any noise in the hotel - couldn't even hear other guests and my room was right by the elevator. Also, great front desk staff; they happily assisted me with all my needs. I definitely plan on staying here in the future when I revisit the area.

My son and I enjoyed our stay. We were in town for an event at the University of Maryland and found this hotel perfect for us. It's in a great location with easy walking to the University, restaurants, and a CVS. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfy, and there were plenty of sockets and ports to charge our devices. I was worried it would be loud with a football game and the people there for that, but it wasn't. I took advantage of the breakfast and noticed the lady bustling about making sure it was clean and stocked. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I noticed parking filled up at night, but we got there early and didn't leave until we checked out, since we could walk everywhere. Thanks!

We've stayed at several of the other hotels in the area that are a bit more higher end, however, during UMD graduation, the pickings are slim and the prices here are WAY MORE reasonable all things considered. For example, one of the hotels in the area was $1500 for a 3 night stay, one was $1200 for a 3 night stay, another was $1500 prepaid for a 3 night stay, another was $1,000 etc. This was $600 for a 3 night stay in an Executive Suite with 1.5 bathrooms and a King and sofa bed in separate room. So starting with that introduction, I will say that at a minimum this hotel is very difficult to get in and out of. When returning up Route 1 from being near campus, it is nearly impossible to make a left to get into the hotel. It is a very busy, high traffic area. If you're coming off the highway, however, it is an easy right into the lot. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was FANTASTIC! Very friendly and welcoming - we asked for more pillows, blankets, anything we pretty much needed and had no issue. They set up cupcakes for after graduation; had a very lovely bagged breakfast, coffee, juices, etc set up in the a.m. The room was clean, lots of towels, etc. They were not doing cleaning during this continued Covid event, but that was not an issue. I would recommend if staying in the area during a high participation event, such as move in/out, homecoming, parent weekend, graduation, etc. I would stay there again if visiting during those above-mentioned times.

I had a very terrible experience with this hotel. I made a reservation through vendor 1-day prior that was Friday and when I got there at the time of check in Ephraim and Vinnie who was working at the hotel and they informed me we have cancelled your reservation because of the card was on file is being declined. They said a lie to me. When I checked with the vendor and they said the card was on file was correct but they gave my reservation to someone else and said we are sold out we can't provide you the room. After spending 1 hr to sort out the issue they didn't help me. I asked the Email ID and contact information of the concerned person they denied to give me. The GM Jackie was not available at that time. They were yelling at me we don't have room this did not happen with me it happened to the other guest who was standing right next to me. Poor service smelly area like **** smell.

The only shining star for this hotel is its front desk staff. They are very helpful and efficient. This hotel meets the very minimum standard of a place to shower and keep your things while traveling, but it is definitely in need of renovation and repairs. The closet door handle was missing, which made it hard to get into the closet. The carpet in my room had raised snags that could cause us to trip and fall, and the heating unit didn't warm the room very well. Neither of the two electrical outlets in my bathroom worked. When I called to have them repaired, I was told it would take a while, so I could move to another room. That was not an option for me because I had an elderly family member with me, and we were in the midst of getting dressed to go to the event we had traveled to Maryland to attend. I also had other family members and friends book at this hotel to attend the same event. What an embarrassment.

Horrible 3 days experience!! I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. My three days stay at this hotel was the worst I've ever experienced. The girl at the front desk was EXTREMELY impolite. So not welcoming. No smiles, no kind words. My room was not cleaned neither sanitized for my entire stay even though we are in the heart of a pandemic. NO ONE called to ask me if I was comfortable. On the second day of my stay I called the front desk asking for someone to clean the room and for clean towels, but I was rudely told by the same rude receptionist that my room will be cleaned after I check out, also I need to go get clean towels from the front desk if I need. Secondly, it was two of us staying in the room but on arriving for breakfast I was given one brown paper bag and was told by the same rude receptionist that only one breakfast to one room. What bull!! Thirdly, on the last day of my stay, I heard a loud knock while I was sleeping. Thought it was at the room nearby. Then a second knock, I realized it was at my door. Before I can get out of bed to check who it was, there my door was opened and one guy was there saying he came to clean. INVASION OF PRIVACY! I would give this hotel a zero if I can. That girl at the front desk needs proper training. She's rude and doesn't know how to welcome her customers. I wanted to tell her so badly about herself but I let it ride. Do NOT stay at this hotel overnight If you want a short time, then consider because then you're in and out.

Stayed one night on our way back home to New England. Warmly greeted by front desk staff ( Jamie). She was so pleasant and just what we needed after a long day of travel. She went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. We were traveling with our dog, and found this to be a very pet friendly hotel. The following morning, we had a nice breakfast. Wendy, the manager was just as pleasant, and even loved all over our pup. Mr. James, who was serving in the breakfast area was super helpful also. Customer service was the differentiator for this hotel. It was a great personal experience. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, modern shower.

We stayed there 4 nights for a family wedding in September 2021. -Some of our rooms were only partially cleaned and not fully prepared when we checked in. There were no pillows cases on the pillows and no towels in the bathroom. -The bathroom sink in my room was severely clogged the entire time. -The coffee machine in my room did not work at all. -All 3 elevators stopped working at one point ( 30 mins or so) forcing my elderly family members to walk up and down several flights of stairs. They finally got 1 of the 3 elevators to work but it ran very slowly and created long waits. - Several family members had nights when no one cleaned their rooms. This is completely unacceptable at any hotel! If they are that short staffed then they should not be open. We understood there was no lunch, dinner or room service because they, like many other places, are struggling to get back on their feet after covid-19 but the other problems we experienced were awful. I wish we had pick a different hotel. - The staff at the front door and on the phone were fine and did the best they could to solve these issues but were clearly overwhelmed and needed supervision. Unfortunately, I did not see a single manager the entire 4 days during my stay or at the front desk while any of these problems were occurring. I thought about asking to see a manager but decided to spend that time talking with family and not talking with a manager. The executive housekeeper (Senya(sp?) was very polite, embarrassed about all of the problems and apologetic but tried to do what she could to solve this issues. She was extremely professional and responsive). She deserves special recognition! At one point I tried to tip her and she absolutely refused to take any money from me. She's a star! So glad she did what she could to help my family during this special occasion. Shaniece, the Sales Coordinator, did an outstanding job booking all of the family rooms and was a pleasure to work with by email in advance of my family arriving. Thanks for reading.
