Just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks staying at the Tigakis Star. Can not fault it. A five minute walk from the main strip. The rooms are in 8 small blocks, set in fabulous gardens, full of banana trees, olive trees and various other colourful plants. Before I continue I must admit my review is probably a bit biased because of our room, we had amazing views on all sides, the mountains, the sea and other islands and the salt lake. The ground floor rooms had very little views. I appreciate we were very lucky to have this room (311) The swimming pool was a good size and plenty of sunbeds in a spacious area, lovely pool bar, serving food and drinks all day. The dining area was also spacious, breakfast was a buffet with the usual foods available. Housekeeping was as and when you requested it due to covid precedures. Overall a good choice and would be happy to return.

We spent an afternoon and evening at this beautiful unique seaside hotel. Unfortunately on this our first visit to Kos we are tied into accommodation elsewhere, otherwise this would have been our first choice to stay. The beach lounge was nicely spaced out with thick padded very conformable sunloungers and a reasonable day rate of €10 for the set + water. Great place to enjoy the best cocktails we’ve found on the island and watch the sun go down in time for dinner ... Dinner on the terrace was simply brilliant and what you’d expect from a quality hotel in terms of choice and creativity. Local Wine was superb. They offer degustation menus - 4 or 6 courses or either fish or meat with wine paring - for extra special quality food.

In room I had it was very pleasant for the price paid through Easyjet hoildays ! all in one price! I was extremely happy however I had a nasty fall in shower area just sheer accident and landed in a very awkward way to say the least. it happened between 6 and 7 30pm on Wednesday night I was in agony wow did I suffer a lot of bruising on the way I landed. However I went out for dinner as I needed to eat and there was no one when I actually came down the stairs to report to thought I do when I got back late around 1am and very tired so went to room but feeling very sore! there is no slip mat in bathroom and they have a lovely plack up saying health and safety and how they are awarded for this umm debatable i must say. i then report to anna one of hotel reception staff in morning that i had accident and if i could have something in writing to say this happened. well all the excuses kept coming from this time i was being told to call a doctor i felt i did not need a doctor but some support from the hotel staff etc piece of paper for me in case later i have issues with terrible bruising i have which is still pretty bad! the staff showed no sympathy compassion or sorry as yes i did feel if a slip mat had been in the shower area this would not have happened ! yes it Greece but health and safety first right! i was approached every day to call for doctor at 120 euros umm was this a scam they are doing between themselves. all i asked was proof i fell in shower area nothing else nothing more. the staff were very defensive and told me i could not have the following under hotel policy no manager name no proof of accident no photo of what they had put in there so called accident book advise i can ring police or insurance or doctor!!!! how helpful and frustrating i asked what happens in other accidents they were twisting there words at each opportunity so i have left a 2 page a4 to whoever the manager is hopefully he will get this as i have taken copies of this hand written note and i also complaint to EasyJet while i was there the staff seem very anxious when i was leaving and looked like they were trying to resolve between themselves so did or had they actually spoken to manager about my accident or was it being covered up i feel they had seen the complaint from Easyjet and was worried they didnt say goodbye at no time was a rude just wanted a paper doc from hotel to say yes i had the fall o they gave me the room for rest of day on last day and thought this be enough! hotel was a distance from beach more than 10 mins in 33 degrees it was on back street i was not over happy being so far away especially at night and they told me to use back way well streets in kos are zig zag and all look same at night so had nightmare getting back for first 3 nights the room was clean but staff don't know how to handle situations would never pick this for location

We stayed for 14 nights. The hotel is very well presented and offers great views from pretty much any where you are. However, that wasn’t the case when we were shown to our room on the first day after spending extra money in order to get a sea view room. We were taken to a room at the end of the hall way, one which didn’t even have a room number and looked a cleaning cupboard from the outside. Our sea view consisted of the building in front of us and a tiny fraction of the sea. It was a real struggle to actually get what we paid for, we were shown 2 other rooms with the exact same view and were told that being able to see any sea at all was a ‘bonus’ despite paying extra for it. This was eventually resolved on day two, after putting up a strong fight and speaking to the manager as we were originally told ‘sorry we’re fully booked, there’s nothing we can do’. The three ‘adult’ pools as stated on their website consisted of more kids than adults. Meanwhile, the kids pool was empty every single day. The state of two of the pools was fairly unhygienic with plasters and paper cups floating about in the pool. The two ‘al a carte’ restaurants you’re entitled to when you book all inclusive is a pool bar during the day, and the breakfast and lunch bar for the other. No a la carte touches at all. The snack bar by the pool consists of rolls, pizza and biscuits every single day. Could have done with some chips/chicken nuggets/burgers.. typical pool snacks. There’s an option to buy food, however on all inclusive, not something I feel anyone could justify. After booking this 5 star luxury resort, it was a shame to see plastic sun beds and tables, as well as having to drink out of tiny paper cups filled half way for the whole time we were there. There is also no pool service throughout the day, and staff throughout the hotel didn’t really show much attention towards guests, some who looked like it was a real effort to turn up. However, the restaurant staff were fantastic, we can’t fault them at all. George and the team did an excellent job, they were extremely friendly and accommodating. On another note, there is absolutely no entertainment, or anything to do throughout the day. Would be nice to see some table tennis/pool tables.. but there’s absolutely nothing. We’re a young couple so it was extremely boring. All in all, I struggle to see how this hotel is a 5 star luxury, at most it should be a 3 star.

The price was very good for the apartment which had 2 bedrooms a kitchenette with fridge and kettle but no cooking facilities which suited us very well . cereal and fruit is all we needed for breakfast and then eat out for evening meal. A bathroom with shower. Towels changes every couple of days. Maid service every day emptying bins and tidying bed. which were changed twice during our 10 day stay. No Tv available and no seating area or lounge just the 2 bedrooms. We had a big balcony with sun from morning till night which was wonderful although not private as you could see all the other guests on theirs.Good English breakfast available which we enjoyed. Snacks throughout the day. Only 5 minutes walk down to the beach where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. It was fairly quiet coming to the end of the season but open everywhere. Staff at Origin very friendly especially Tigga who, worth her weight in gold,. was amazing always there to greet and have a chat. Everywhere was clean. The pool was appreciated and sunbeds always available, cold yes but i loved it. Aircon on was an extra cost but we didn't use it. It's on a main road so can be quite noisy if balcony doors are kept open. Payment for safe was not refunded it was a one off payment . Masks were only necessary when going into shops but staff had to wear them most of the time. Hand sanitizer available everywhere and encouraged. Felt very safe re Coronavirus precautions and preparations. All in all Origin is a fun place to stay great location great price so would probably return there again if returning to Kardamena.

This was our second stay at hotel Michelangelo and won’t be our last. EXCELLENT just about sums it up. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Kos. Very baffling as to how this hotel can receive bad reviews, facilities, food, staff everything is perfect. Nothing is too much trouble, my partner and I are vegan and the absolutely wonderful head chef Jon would come out every night and make us something special or show us all the options at the buffet. This hotel is great for kids and adults and provides kids clubs and fitness classes which I really enjoy. The yoga outside in the mornings is so peaceful and the instructor is as with all the staff so kind. The staff really make this hotel, thank you so much again and I can’t wait to return!!
