I was coming from Takayama and headed to Kawaguchiko to see Mount Fuji and this seemed a good place to stop whilst also going on the Tenryu river boat trip (dull and not recommended!). It was on the outskirt of the town with free parking. The reception spoke no English but were friendly and gave me a message from the boat trip people. I think I was given a slightly larger room than normal. It had a single bed pushed against the wall but the rest of the room was relatively spacious by Japanese standards. The bathroom was in a kind of little cramped capsule which involved stepping up into it. The bed was hard and came with an eiderdown (I always find the cleanliness of those rather suspect) and sheets. The pillow had heavy seeds. I had a desk/dressing table, a chair and TV (but with no English TV channels). The breakfast didn't offer much of a western choice with just bread rolls. The wifi was good. I drove to a nearby restaurant for dinner. For the price paid it was pretty good value.

This was a surprise visit, this place is a gem in this part of Japan, supposedly the clearest sky for star gazing. Like a traditional onsen the plan starts with welcome drink and elaborate explanation by the hostess in the room about the facilities. Rooms are Japanese family rooms with Tatami flooring and futon as bedding. The hot water spring is natural with sulphur smell makes the skin glow. The elaborate dinner follows with multiple courses. Next morning breakfast is again traditional Japanese each item is arranged artistically. The location, the ambiance and food.. perfect.

Fuki no mori was booked for us by a tour company. It was self guided tour and every other accommodation was excellent. This was supposed to be our splurge on a fairly "budget" style trip. It was our least favourite on the two week trip and the most expensive. The property is beautiful but there's nothing to do around it. You can walk on the road but that's it. The room was very nice, very large by Japanese standards, clean with a wonderful view. BUT it was stuffy and hot. We asked for help getting the temperature right. The maintenance man's solution was to turn on the AC! In November? So we ended up figuring out how to turn off the heat and opened the door for a bit. The onsen is okay but nothing special. The food was mediocre. We'd had better traditional Japanese fare in other ryokans, including a basic farmhouse in Shirawakago. Most of it was just really salty. Breakfast was decent but quite sparse considering many people are coming there to hike. We did tell our tour tour operator that the shuttles weren't great. We were crowded into the one when arriving there after doing the walk from Magome to Tsumago. For the morning shuttle there are only 2 options and neither matches the bus schedule to Kyoto. We ended up in Tsumago with 40 minutes to wait for the bus. You'd think they could time the shuttles a bit better? The shops in Tsumago open late so there's nothing to do there. So...look around. The area is gorgeous and the hike is wonderful. Find somewhere more reasonable to stay though. I'm NOT fussy and don't generally post negative reviews. I would have been happy with this place too if it weren't SO expensive! I'm sure you can find a better place for less.

The hotel is great, but Ctrip isn't working. Just like last time in Toyama, it gave a sheltered room on the second floor. ? Calling this "Flower Gauza Hotel" in Nakatsugawa, more than 600 is very good value. If you go to Magong, it is recommended. 1. There is a shuttle bus to jr Nakatsugawa Station. The schedule is shown in Figure 2. 2. There is a bus to Magong. The bus stop is about 300 meters away from the hotel and it takes about one hour. The schedule is shown in Figure 3. 3. The external environment of the hotel is shown in Figure 3, Figure 4, and the hotel on the left side of Figure 4. Sitting on a big forest and a small stream, it's like being in a fairyland. The air is amazing! Figure 5 is the walking route map given by the hotel. 4. The hot spring is amazing, the skin and hair are smooth after soaking, and there is a large children's play area, which is suitable for parent-child swimming. 5. Although the price does not include meals, the hotel consumption is also very low. Three people can get 200 yuan for a meal. || 1 || 7862 || Nakatsugawa || 1 || 80446 || Malangju || 1 || 249 || Japan || 2 || 137141 || hotel hanasarasa
