The rooms were a good size and the pillows were very comfortable, as was the bed. The breakfast was a good buffet with nice variety of food. The amenities were more than adequate in the room and they were well insulated for noise. I slept soundly. Unusually good pillows.

If you want to visit Kutani, you may want to stay at this hotel, and it is also a good transit station for visiting various hot springs in Kaga, very close to the sea. Very clean. But no one can speak English at the front desk, so I have to be a little Japanese.

We chose this hotel as it is next to a ski resort and we had an excellent stay here. We arrived this hotel from Kanazawa, by taking a bus to the Sena station. Originally, we had booked a complimentary transfer service from Sena station to the hotel at around 20:30. As we had finished our one day trip in Kanazawa earlier than expected, we called to the hotel by using the public phone and changed the pickup time to around 19:00. The bus arrived Sena station at 19:40 due to the heavy snow but we were unable to contact the hotel about the delay as we did not have Japan SIM card. Big thanks to the hotel staff as he was very patient and reliable that he waited for us under heavy snow for more than half an hour at the station. Otherwise, we might have some trouble and would have stuck at the bus station. After arriving at the hotel, we immediately felt being welcomed by the receptionist. The check-in was efficient and hotel information was clearly explained. We went to have dinner immediately after check-in as the dinner was prepared and waiting for our arrival. The female server was so attentive that she provided the most excellent service that we had ever encountered. Room - The room we stayed was nice and beautifully decorated. The tap in bathroom had a bit water leakage but it was just a minor thing. Hot Spring – There were outdoor and indoor hot springs. The weather was so cold that we thought they were not hot enough. There were a wide range of Yukata in hotel lobby that we could choose from. Food - We stayed for 2 nights and we found the hotel was attentive that they served different menus of dinner and breakfast. And we like the breakfast and dinner menus of first night more than the second night. On the check-out day, our phone alarm did not work so we didn’t go to have breakfast on time. The food were cold but we understood we were late. But I would suggest the kitchen to keep the food warm instead of leaving the food cold and serve to the guests. The check-out was also smooth and free transfer to Sena station was also provided. The overall stay was great and I would definitely stay in this hotel again in the future.

Originally, we were booked at Crown Plaza right by the station using our points, we cancelled and booked at Mitzu because it was new and I would like to try this brand of hotel. I am glad I did, we booked a corner room which gave us a lot of room for 2 people. We booked the twin room so we have two full size bed. It was comfortable for 2 of us. Bathroom was decent size and they provided you with all the toiletries, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, Qtip, cotton ball and etc. From the Kanazawa station you can take the bus and it stops about 200 ft from the hotel, or take a taxi from the station. Bus was $200 yen per person and taxi for us was around $900 depends on traffic. We used the taxi since the saving is marginal because there were 4 of us. The castle and garden is about 15 mins walk from the hotel, it is slightly behind the hotel. You walked through a neighborhood which is very quaint and quiet. Hotel can provide you a map.

The hotel is new and modern. Rooms are design forward and upper floors had sweeping views of the city. The hotel is located near the nightlife area of Kanazawa. It’s a 10 minute bus ride to the center of the city. Pros -Great value for the price -Varied Japanese and Western breakfast buffet in first floor restaurant -Lobby has lots of hang out areas and tea/coffee as well as infused water all day -Rooms are beautifully done with separate toilet/shower and pajamas/outfits that you can wear around the hotel -Onsen is on the smaller side but new -Small but very functional gym -Close to gardens/samurai/temple district Cons -Location can be a little far from center of city in inclement weather (it was cold and rainy our entire stay) -Staff wants to be helpful but might be challenging for non-Japanese speakers -I was asked at check in about tattoos and forbidden from using the Onsen, this was a little surprising given how modern the hotel was and felt very violating to be asked right as I was checking in and paying for two rooms for several nights. The hotel is mainly Japanese guests so I understood but felt it could have been done more tactfully. -Laundry facility is handy but took several hours to dry clothes in the washer/dryer combo machine

The hotel is on the bus route from the train station which is convenient. But it is a little hard to spot from the road because the lobby is on the 1st floor so you need to go up some escalators to reach reception. The reception is a grand marble lobby so it's a pity that decor didn't stretch to the rest of the hotel which was looking rather worn. There was a large (for Japan) but dated bathroom with thin narrow towels. There was a cork floor in the bathroom and a long sink surround which was handy for toiletries etc. The bath was short and not particularly deep. However there was an odd ledge to get into the bathroom which was a trip hazard. There was a hard bed with Japanese style seed pillow. The room safe was large enough to fit my two DSLR cameras and my ipad. But here was no shelving and the air conditioning was very ineffective. CNN was the only English language channel. There were no bedside tables, just a ledge with a light. But at least the room had 2 arm chairs & desk chair. The room had poor, gloomy lighting and you could hear your neighbours through the wall. The concierge was extremely helpful and helped me book a bus ticket and checked the route I was planning to take in case it had been affected by the typhoon. There's a Starbucks on the ground floor and also a nice patisserie opposite (which sadly didn't open early enough for me to use). The Wi-Fi was good and my room had a view of the town. It was about a 15 minute walk to the garden and about the same distance (in the other direction) for the ninja temple (which the hotel kindly booked for me). The hotel also kindly arranged for a geisha show for me but in the end I went to one in Kyoto.
