The inhouse restaurant serves great quality food. We were pleasantly mind blown! We would definitely come back and even won't hesitate booking an property from the same hotelier without a second thought.

To add on, the location of the hotel is very apt to go any places in pondicherry and its very few steps from Main Bus stand. |4.59km from city centerWe stayed in Ginger Pondicherry in Dec First week. We had booked for 2 nights and check-in time was 2 PM. We reached the hotel by 9 AM and was planning to keep the bags at reception and roam around till room becomes available. To my surprise, the staff handed me room key :-) Our return bus was in the evening, so checked for late checkout. It was available for 25% of room charge. At the time of checkout they surprised me again and did not charge for the late checkout. Room was a bit small, but clean and neat. Again the staff suggested to go for twin room as it will have more space than double room. Breakfast was good with very good vegetarian options (We are veg). Coffee was really good. The seating area is well maintained with paintings of all the places in Pondicherry. Special thanks to Ginger hotel staff Febroina, Uraj and Raj for making our stay wonderful.

Pro:
-Service is super fast and feel like luxury.
-Indoor pool was great and very clean.
-Gym had trainers in the evening i guess.
-Breakfast spread was huge with both veg and non veg. English breakfast was also wide.
-centre of the city yet so quiet
-Bed is huge and rooms are okaying spacious
- iPad with lot of high tech
- expresso was had to make but they give help u.

Asked for room cleaning late evening but didn’t do it.
Tv controls in iPad for other entertainment apps are hard .(can provide normal tv control extra too

|13.36km from city centerMy stay at this hotel was a nightmare. It's a government hotel and not a private property. Don't trust the pictures. Room are very shady and not clean at all The room was poorly maintained with worn-out fittings and uncomfortable beds. Few lights won't work, taps and all don't function, the ***ager are unethical and not well ***nered, GENERAL ***AGER is still a decent guy (but always bzy and a guest safety and concern is not his priority) To make things worse, I had cash stolen from my wallet and beer bottles stolen from my fridge during my stay. When i asked them that this has happened ...they bluntly and rudely said ...we are also government employee u go and do police complaint , we will ***age the police ....i was shocked to know this To worsen the situation, as soon as we went to the reception to checkout, they made us sir ...i thought they will talk about this and we will close the issue, instead i see cops and both the GM and ***ager went off and made me sit with police all the time during checkout. They only called police and forced me to give my written complain now, giving complaint was my choice and they can't put guests into this trouble... However my only ask esk to make sure that the safety of future guests is taken care was the safety of guests (that's it) , but instead they called cops and put customer into such a trouble during a holiday who would want this trouble , police inquired us more than the staff ...only we were question and not the hotel staff , other hotels would have given comfort to guest and resolved things professionally , this ***ager (***ager MURUGAN was too rude and very unprofessional) instead called police and made scene out of such a petty issue of few thousand bucks and a beer bottle and The ***agement was unhelpful and unprofessional, displaying rude behavior and a complete lack of concern for my safety and well-being. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel and suggest the ***agement take immediate steps to improve their security measures and staff training. Also, please note on below There are too ***y rules at the property, the food is pathetic , pool is not clean and worst part the beach is allowed to be accessed only till 6.30 pm (the sunset starts at 5.30 and than u r asked to rush back to the property before 6.30) Rooms are very shady, they are not maintained. You will be scared to speak to the ***agers during your stay, all your asks would be rudely answered . I had seen reaction of so ***y guests talking about rude ***agers and staff Don't buy this beach view and all....apart from beach everything else is bad and the property is very far from city centre and ***ior tourist spots almost 21 kms (takes around 40 mints by car)

The hotel is doing a very good work considering low occupancy due to current pandemic and ensure they ***age their costs of operations and also service the guest with least inconvenience. We stayed for 4 days and it was very comfortable. The food is good. The check in and check out is hassle free. They have only few rooms operational due to current situation. All of then are single bed. They should open some twin bed rooms also. The hotel is always clean. Beds are well done. Applaud to the team at Sunway.

|2.34km from city centerI recently went to Pondicherry and booked a suite with them, thinking its really a suite(2 bedrooms) and it costed me 50k for 2 nights ***** with my parents. After booking i just called them and tried to confirm the booking upon which they mentioned that there is only one bathroom in the suite. What a disappointment it was but still as we already made up our mind we decided to go ahead thinking the bathroom would be common and can be used by 4 adults (me, my wife, and my parents). We did not know there is another surprise waiting for us. Upon reaching we found that the only bathroom was inside one bedroom and for the people in the other bedroom, it was impossible to access if the room is closed from inside. My parents were hesitant using the bathroom in the night with me and my wife in the bedroom with the bathroom. When we talked to the hotel staff and asked why this detail was not mentioned on the website , they said we don't mention these details on the website. I replied that the website has even the towel which is given mentioned , why not this detail? After paying 50k for 2 nights, my parents had to go to a floor above in the night for the bathroom. What a terrible experience it had been. Super overpriced rooms (they charge like 5star hotel) with below average facilities (i have been to ***y 5 stars hotel with less price). Below average food, not a single other facility except a swimming pool on the roof which no one can use because it's so hot. Pathetic, terrible , horrifying experience. Please don't think that the customers are fools. You put the suite up for booking when the de***d is high so that you can fool the customers who doesn't have enough details and get as much as money from them. Before you call it a suite , go and check how suite looks like. You may have made some money by cheating me, but will loose enough if someone reads this message and decide to not go with you. Have some sense, these tricks doesn't work now a days.

This time it was the expanded breakfast menu. Our trip in February was after a hiatus of 8 months, there was some new staff hence. It is a given however for the staff to have a broad smile on their face and be courteous to a fault Over a 3 day stay, we had all our meals were at the restaurant as were all drinks. Lip smacking Fare at a proposition that is luxury but still value for money. When we were leaving, the car had starting problems. We figured that getting it fixed at pondy was wiser. The hotel front desk made a few phone call and viola we had a mechanic who came over and did the necessary repairs .. and all this time we were in comfortable luxury at the restaurant Can’t wait to go back
