|17.03km from city center*** Updating my former review of 1 star and changing it to a 3* overall review. My pre-vacation experience was a terrible terrible nightmare, worthy of zero stars. We were canceled on the week before our trip with zero warning or notice. I found out the hard way...we were left without a reservation and no communication of such changes. As someone wigh considerable travel and business management experience and one who hates to complain about trivial things I have to say the way this company operates in different segments (marketing, promotions, guest services, reservations, concierge, front desk management, and travel club etc) nobody knows what the next department does or has authority to do. There is WAY too much transferring, lost colls, horrific lack of communication between departments, the list could go on. They hire an outside ”marketing” department that frequently lies to prospective guests and once on property, management deflects blame to them for discrepancies. Happened to me, happened to woman at front desk while I was waiting. You hired a marketing company, if you disagree with their slimy techniques, say something, do something, fire them. Deflecting is not an answer. Guests deserve better treatment. Period. THAT SAID, our experience prior to arrival and during our stay was complete opposite. This resort is quite lovely. My family had a really terrific stay. The villas are absolutely gorgeous. We were upgraded to a 2 bed signature at check-in. Process took 5 min most. Resort is small enough to walk quickly everywhere. So very family friendly. Kids had a blast. Pools were not over crowded. Management was kind and considerate. Gave us extra pool towels and bottled water, opened the market for us after hours. No hassell with wristbands or ridiculous rules. Could eat and drink at the table by the pool. The best part was no rule nazis. It was a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Bartenders made some great White Russians 👌 Stay itself was a 5*, but giving this 3* overall for experience leading up to trip.

|16.16km from city centerService -5 Hotel -4 Let me summarize that the property is in need of a refresh. That said - the beds were comfortable, everything worked perfectly, and it met our needs. And the service from Front Desk to the Restaurant was A+++ Specifics: Dominick checked us in and explained everything from how bicycles (beach cruisers) were available to go around the local park area, to how are titanium benefit’s worked. He got us set up quickly and best of all, helped us find someplace for dinner on a Saturday night. He enthused a bit more about one restaurant on the list than the others, so we headed there and really had a good time and a great meal. We went out on the deck after dinner for a welcome drink, dessert, and the final four on the multiple screens. Service was top notch and the food quality was quite good. There were a lot of groups dining in house and I suspect the volume supports the food quality Breakfast was also very very good. As was the service. Both to be honest were excellent. Our room had double panel glass, but you could still hear the jet engines from the Scottsdale airport (private aviation). Our curtains were worn and slivers if late came through where the lining had degraded. We didn’t use the pool though it was nice and large and faced the greens from the nearby golf club.

I meant to check into the Residence Inn by Mayo Clinic, but my personal error sent my GPS to the Salt River location. The front desk staff literally jumped through hoops (phone calls, etc) to allow me to not move more, and the restaurant/bar staff welcomed me like family. Specific shout-outs to Candace and Gretchen, but overall, all staff—whatever management is doing to empower staff and allow them to embrace what’s walking through the door—yay!!!

|4.07km from city centerColorado to San Diego road-trip, A late arrival (2 am ) and very tired because unforeseen circumstances ( on the road emergencies ) my husband checked us in and Robbie the Front desk agent was very empathetic of our situation and surprised us with an upgrade to a 2 bedroom Villa - our kids were excited to have a room to themselves and were ok to wait and swim until the morning instead at night . Kids got to go to the pool in the morning after they woke up at 9:30 am , when the time for check out at 11 am obviously they were not ready to leave the pool, I called the front desk to request late check out and Laurie was kind enough to allow us, now kids want to come back to this hotel again on our next road trip!

Our room was upgraded which we very much appreciated. We truly enjoy the ambiance of the entire hotel - the lobby with great lighting, ample seating, plants, books, beverages 24/7; the spacious and well appointed rooms; the warm, clean pool with comfy loungers and beautiful tables and potted plants; the fitness room with all the equipment we needed, the delicious breakfasts. We would like to give a shout out to Joey, the chef at breakfast. We had different types of eggs every morning all of which were delicious. He was efficient, kind, and when busy with orders offered to bring our eggs to our table. Thank you, Joey!!! We also enjoyed the yogurt and fruit/muffin stations. The woman who worked the breakfast area on the weekend, I think her name was Marissa, always had a smile on her face, said hello, moved through the breakfast set-up with incredible efficiency, and continually refurbished the coffee and yogurt/muffin/fruit stands. Rooms were comfy, lobby is unbelievably gorgeous and great to relax and people watch, read a book or visit and enjoy the ambiance. The outdoor areas- pool/lagoon, gardens could compete with any luxury Caribbean resort. The Spa was so great I went Twice! Absolutely will return. Rachel @ the morning bar was our favorite staff. Friendly and made amazing lattes to start our days. Saydo is the man to see at the shuttle for ideas of what to do-where to go! We loved both of them!

Our room was continually damp & musty, while other areas of the hotel were hot, leading me to believe there's an issue with the HVAC system. There was no way to open a window and allow fresh air to enter the room, either. The breakfast was fine, and the options were changed during the time we were there, which was nice. However, the pool area is very small and is really just a slab of cement with a pool in the middle of it. The location is convenient, but in the future I'll choose to stay elsewhere in Scottsdale as it seems like a lot of money for an average hotel experience.

I explain my situation and just as I was finishing she said “You want to move your check out time? Maybe one?” I was surprised how quickly she handled my problem. Her thoughtfulness did not stop at that one exchange. The next morning I was waiting for the shuttle, which was to arrive at 07:00. She noticed it was 06:50 and the driver was not there. Without me mentioning anything, she called to make sure the driver was on the way. He arrived soon there after. I greatly appreciate her professionalism. Of course, I will stay there again. That stay was my fourth and am always impressed. Sandra was a great help during a stressful time.

|9.44km from city centerWe stayed here for 3 nights in mid-January. The hotel was well appointed, and well maintained, both in our room and in the public areas. The outdoor pool was very cold, but the hot tub was just right, and the surrounding deck tempted us to sun bathe. Breakfast was the usual HIE fare. The staff were friendly and helpful, laying up our stock of dry ice in their freezer when we discovered that the frig in our room did not have a freezer. The one curious feature here was the absence of a microwave in our room. This was a first in more than 500 HIE stays! It forced us to take our dinner plates downstairs to warm in the communal microwave adjoining the check-in counter. This was mystifying because it was transparently obvious that there had been a microwave in our room, and that it had been removed. Forcing guests to use a communal microwave during the midst of a pandemic is an incredibly bad idea; I implore the General Manager to address this issue at once.

|1.75km from city centerThis is my second time at this Hotel with my family. The staff provided excellent service and were very courteous upon arrival and with any questions I had. The room was clean and large. It has been updated nicely with granite and tiled shower, and nice furnishings. As with most Embassy Suites, there is a sitting tv area with fridge, sink, microwave, and small dining table. I had a pool and mountain view, which was nice. I didn't use the pool, but families appeared to enjoy it. There's really nice sectional seating with fire pits next to the pool, which would be great when it gets cooler. I enjoyed the evening reception which was better than the 1st time. Due to covid restrictions being lifted, they provided light snacks, such as cheeses, veggies, chips, and a few dips. There is a two drink limit per person, and it's free. The morning breakfast is always a nice perk and very good. I gave this hotel four stars only because it is an older hotel, but it's still very charming. I definitely will be back again.

The room was beyond our expectations it was clean, smelled sanitized.. loved the decor and the bed was firm but clean and extremely comfortable. Impressed with the lobby area and corridors were clean and quiet. Couldn’t find any complaints about the entire stay.. at least 6 days. Centrally located to freeway and eating places as well as shopping. Room rates were great.. The breakfast was good and fresh. The only thing I couldn’t deal with was the guest was throwing their car trash in the parking lot. And only a few steps from the trash can.. shame on you 👉. But the staff stayed on top of it.. But trust me you won’t regret your stay.

They also have an ”adult only” pool if you want to relax away from the kiddos. To add to our wonderful experience was the Bird Man from Liberty Wildlife. On the 4th of July he had Aurora, a huge beautiful female bald eagle. You are able to take a picture with Aurora and as she is lifted up behind you she spreads her gorgeous wings! On other days he might have a hawk or an owl. The live band in the pm was fun too! The picture I posted here of the Bird Man is from Google. The eagle he is with is beautiful, but not Aurora. 💜

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, friendly smiles from the staff and an ambiance that was simply stunning. The decor was modern and fun! The wet deck pool party was a blast, with comfortable loungers, cabanas, and a pool bar with delicious cocktails and snacks. Special shout out to Raul for making sure we were well taken care of! We did a spa morning with friends and the manager of the spa (blonde woman) went above and beyond making sure our group was happy and comfortable our whole morning. She even went to the Hotel restaurant specifically to pick up our breakfast order bc they didn’t have breakfast options on the spa menu! Michael, at the front desk, truly made sure we were taken care of. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. He made sure we had waters for our hikes, gave us amazing restaurant recommendations, and always greeted us with a warm and welcome smile every time he saw us! Overall the hotel truly made us feel like a valued guest and made sure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back!

|6.52km from city centerWe booked this hotel online for a stopover in Phoenix . The website said the hotel was undergoing renovation and that ”some” amenities would not be available. What it didn't say that the hotel would be a filthy mess. When we saw what a horrible state the hotel was in we asked to be rebooked at another hotel. The hotel manager flatly refused to rebook us elsewhere. Even after 3 phone calls from IHG customer service requesting that he book us elsewhere. He said that because we didn't cancel 24 hours prior to our arrival he would not cancel our reservation and rebook us at another IHG hotel. I guess it's our fault that we didn't know 24 hours in advance that the hotel was a pig pen! The entire lobby was covered in dust and dirt. The Seating in the lobby was caked with dirt. All of the carpet in the hallways and rooms is filthy and heavily stained. Avoid this place like the plague!

The staff remembers our names, gives a gift to my children, and always provides something a little extra, be it snacks with a free movie or a free Smores kit. The breakfast, while minimal is great. Without looking like a Homewood Suites or something, they provide you with high quality and well cut fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and always a breakfast entree. The staff is the best I have encountered at any hotel in the states. The ONLY negative thing I had to say was we experienced ants at the pool at three different locations, even one time before we even had any food or drinks. I know we are in the middle of the desert right at the base of a mountain, but that has to be improved. The issue is not enough to lower the review, just something to be noted.

We stayed in room 1013 which has two full bedrooms with king beds, separate bathroom and shower and a large tv. The communal area contains another large tv, sofa sitting area, breakfast table and full size kitchen with a full size fridge, stove etc. The hotel also has a nice pool and hot tub and is a five minute walk to the Old Town area which has several restaurants and bars. There is plenty of self parking available and a great free weekend breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Carlos and Ronnie! We will definitely stay here again!

But we asked for a 2 hr extension to our checkout to enjoy the pool for a few hours since it was the main reason of our stay here, and you would think I was asking for a free weeks stay with the attitude the “gentleman” at the front desk had. He was extremely rude and condescending. We got our time at the pool, not that the staff at the pool noticed Never were waited on once in 2 hrs, but the young girls couple chairs over were visited numerous times with ice cold water and other drinks When we had enough we tried to get back into the hotel, only to find out our key wouldn’t work. Walked around to find a door that didn’t require one went to our room to find it didn’t work there either. I went to the lobby desk to inform them we couldn’t get in our room and clerk responded with its past your checkout time. I told her I called down around 10, was transferred to to the front desk where a man answered and eventually granted an extended checkout. Clerk claimed there was no record of it and basically without saying it, called me a liar We were so impressed with this resort when we first arrived and had a wonderful meal at the Orange Sky restaurant and even talked about making this our place to for special occasions since we are new to the Phoenix area. It went downhill from there, and rapidly We won’t return. The last impression is a LASTING impression

Would have preferred variety in breakfast selection. Breakfast was not bad.There was fruit some days and some days not. The entire seven days we stayed they offered bacon only on one day. It would have been nice to offer half bacon and half sausage as daily options. Grateful for hot breakfast none the less.

The weekend breakfast staff does not compare, could hardly ever find them for basic needs. We can't say enough nice things about her. Our room was OK, sofa material was scratchy so when sitting with shorts on, it was uncomfortable. Shower and water pressure amazing. AC kept the room a perfect temperature. Housekeeping was helpful during our 8 day stay. We only bothered them for new towels and trash emptying. Location, also very convenient, close to restaurants and shopping. Pool had a good mix of shade and sun depending on your preference and our room overlooked the pool. The staircase carpet was a bit worn and coming up in spots which could become a safety hazard. I do take the stairs often that's how I know. The front staff is friendly and kind. I can't explain it but the lobby has a smell to it, it can't be a moisture issue because of how dry Arizona is but its something, as I am sensitive to smells. Overall, we would stay again when in town to visit family, as long as Holly is still there :)

It is located minutes from downtown Scottsdale. We went for a staycation and picked the room with jacuzzi tab. It tub was large enough for two adults and the jets felt so relaxing. A great hidden gem in the big city.
