We booked through Expedia and Guido contacted us straight away to thank us and offer to pick us up from the airport for 15 euros which we accepted. Guido and his wife Daniela came and collected us and welcomed us with coffee and homemade cake. Although our Italian amounts to a few basic phrases we got by in bits of English, French and Italian and Guido and Daniela gave us maps and advice on things to do and see and buses. Guido connected with me on What’s App so we could contact him with any questions. We were offered either breakfast in local cafes with a voucher or at the B and B and as I am gluten free we thought there would be easier. Guido brought us lots of lovely meats, cheese, fruits and yoghurt and even special cereal for me. There was always fresh cake which my partner couldn’t get enough of! Due to a problem with the water we were upgraded and our room was lovely, homely and very clean. It’s a beautiful building and we had a great shower and very comfy bed and all important air con! The location is close to town and local sites of interest, although walking up the hill after a big meal is a bit of a killer! We really enjoyed our stay and on our way to the airport Guido kindly took us for a coffee at a local bar. It was a great experience and so much nicer than staying in a faceless hotel. We also got to meet other guests from other places. Highly recommend!

The rooms are in an old building in a district without interest. They have no real decoration and are slightly smelly (cigarettes). It is 20 min walk from city center. Do not pay for the private bathroom : it is a real scam (20 euros for a « reserved » bathroom not in the room). We were told we had to pay an extra 5 euros for an afternoon check-in and extra 5 for aircon - an unjustified rip-off considering the high cost of the no-charm room (70 euros without bathroom in the room!!). The check-in guy and the owner do not speak English. A special mention for the check-in guy: he saw my wife was pregnant but did no not offer any help for her small luggage - a real gentleman. We asked to change for a common bathroom (which was possible as the place was empty but 2 groups of travelers) and it was refused. Do not ever go to this place !

The rooms are lovely and clean. Towels changed daily. We had a room with balcony, although on a busy road it was very quiet in the room. Tv, lots of hot water, area with tea and coffee maker. We were quite lucky because we had the whole place to ourselves. I would definitely return and recommend to friends, ideal position for the centre of Cagliari. Cesare was very helpful, thanks for a great break!!

A contemporary boutique hotel in a great location close to the centre of Cagliari. Very nice room with its own terrace - modern furniture and feel. Good air conditioning and comfortable bed. Small number of rooms and so the breakfast area is small but okay. Staff very nice and helpful. Continental breakfast was very good. Despite the location the room was wonderfully quiet and the tall curtains really locked out the light. We stayed for a week and found plenty to do and see in Cagliari.

We flew in 2 hours late from Malta thanks to Malta Airlines then stood in a queue for three hours to get a hire car!!!! So arriving at Collibri was exhausting and no fault of Collibri! We actually booked two nights because we were originally arriving at 8am but ended up arriving around 1.30pm! A waste but that is travel! The rooms are part of a big apartment block and poor David waited from 8am to receive us! He was so polite! The rooms are not large but in a good position walking distance to the city centre! They are almost new and very clean. Not a lot of bathroom accessories including tissues. The outside metal blind was great as it completely blacked out the room! It had a tiny lift as it is three stories up which we understand is the only apartment block in the old town with oneBreakfast was in a cafe around the corner which was coffee juice and danishes but adequate! It was value for money!

We were here for 4 nights in total with our little children in june to visit relatives and explore the nearby beaches. The hotel was recommended to me by locals as it is attached to a popular slow food restaurant. I called ahead and got a very good price (room wih breakfast 80 Euro). Perfect location as you can explore the city walking and are close to the highway leading to beautiful beaches. The hotel is a beautiful old Villa with 3 floors, the rooms old fashioned and well maintained at the same time. The hotel is supporting social causes like orphan homes. we stayed in a room at the third floor first and had a beuatiful terrace overlooking the garden, then we got upgraded for free to a suite (which is basically a whole appartement). Breakfast extremely good and plenty of food (which is not common in Italy). Fruits from their own orchard, home baked bread and cake, fresh coffee, self- made jams etc. The best part is the staff, always lovely and extremely child friendly. They treated our little ones like king and queen! Will definitely come back.

This hotel is convenient for a variety of reasons - first, the location is not far from the airport, is very near the train station, but more importantly to our group, near the car rental agencies, as we were planning to rent a car to explore Sardinia. Secondly, the hotel was willing to keep a large suitcase for a week as we needed to downsize our luggage to fit in our rental car, and were continuing on to Tunisia a week later. and had more baggage for the later part of our trip. Incredibly helpful! As for the rest - our room was super clean, very reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and there is a large outdoor patio for meeting up with our friends. While the location isn't the most attractive in Cagliari, this hotel is just what we needed at the beginning and end of our trip around Sardinia.

My wife and I enjoyed 3 nights at this lovely hotel. On arrival the team were very friendly, the check in process is as quick and efficient as I have seen. Then we come to the highlight the rooms, we stayed in the Fanny Suite and it is out of this world. Two floors spacious, artistic with a back drop of authentic old style bricks a lovely shaped staircase up to a superb bed. We have never stayed in a room with it’s own Sauna but what a treat. This is the place for you if you just want to relax for a couple of days with your own thoughts. The decor through the hotel is beautiful with the bar having some black and white photos of film stars and the garden beautifully lit up by the trees at night. I highly recommend a cocktail in the evening at 10 euros a drink they are not cheap but not as expensive as most 4 or 5 star hotels and you get some lovely nibbles to accompany them. I can certainly vouch for the sidecar being well made and enjoyable to drink. The breakfast is also amazing cooked well, generous portions with high quality ingredients (both the fruit plate and the cheese and cold meat selections are musts). There are some downsides to this hotel that will put people off, there is no lunch or dinner restaurant service and no room service so you have to go out to eat properly, there is no swimming pool and whilst the gardens are lovely there is only 2 sun beds. The location is 10 to 15 minutes walk from the port and all the bar/restaurant scene and the walk to them is downhill meaning you are walking uphill to get home. All that said the peace, tranquility, cleanliness and comfort you have when you walk through the doors means this hotel can get nothing but 5 stars from me and if you can afford to stay at the fanny suite, please do you will be wow’ed!

My husband and I stayed here from 7 to 11 September. The hotel is centrally located. Very clean with fresh towels each day. Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. Great bus route for the beaches. 500 metres from the station. As we were staying during COVID, I am pleased that the hotel took excellent measures in this. Masks are worn all the time in common areas, if you forget they remind you politely. Breakfast is served to you, whilst I don’t speak Italian the service was good, enough choices. The little bar attached to the hotel is great. Claudio is an excellent bar manager, extremely helpful and very very friendly. We even waited to say good bye to him on our last day because he made us feel that welcome. There are a couple of downsides to this hotel. As it’s an old building that has been converted to a hotel, if you are in the deluxe rooms there isn’t a lot of natural light. The water for the shower is tepid which is unfortunate and despite me asking a few times to see if anything could be done, I think they tried their best. If you are here for 2 nights it’s fine but for 4 it’s too much. For these reasons I would not stay here again.

This hotel is good to stay for one night but not more. Location is 29 minutes by bus to the city centre. I had the intention to dine in the hotel restaurant “La Finestra sul Cielo” as advertised on the web. This restaurant has good reviews. I was very disappointed when I was informed that it had been closed for about five years. There are no restaurants close to the Hotel. As it was late in the evening, the only alternative was to dine in the Up restaurant located on the fourth floor of the building. It is a shame that Ristorante La Finestra Sul Cielo is still being advertised on the web and also on Trip Advisor. On the contrary the Up restaurant has zero reviews and 2 ratings. The staff hurried around as they are understaffed which make one feel uncomfortable. The restaurant opens at 8.00 pm so one has to wait for the opening time even if you are early back in the hotel and wish to eat. It has a set menu with little choice, take it or leave it. It was antipasto consisting of veg and then either pasta or rice for first course and meat or fish for second course plus desert. Besides, there is a wait of about half-an-hour to forty-five minutes between each course and one will end up eating pasta very late. At least the taste was very good. Worst of all was the terrible heat. There is no air conditioning in the restaurant and one can imagine how awful it is to stay there for at least three hours to finish your meal! The bar closes after breakfast. Once I asked from where I can get a cup of coffee, it was around 5.00 and was instructed to go to the 2nd floor and help myself from a vending machine! Disgusting! Breakfast was not refilled after 9.00 am. It looks as if they have a shortage of cutlery, as most guests had to wait or ask to be given a fork or a spoon from the kitchen as the cutlery trays end up empty very quickly. Another disappointment – the swimming pool is closed and not functioning. It will not be functioning any time soon as major repairs are required. This was also not notified on the web. So whoever had the impression of going for a dip before it was time for dinner, had to find another way to while away the time till 8.00 pm. There is nowhere to go nearby if not to hear mass in front of the hotel. Something on a positive note - In another review it was said that the elevator starts from the 1st floor, but this is not the so, there is an elevator on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious, very clean, towels and toiletries are replenished daily. The breakfast is plentiful and one is spoilt for choice at the cakes section. The freshness and taste is outstanding. Still, this is definitely not a three star hotel.

Good things about the hotel: the sea view. The hotel looks very old,the entrance looks like a high school, and indications aren't clear. We got a sea view room. The rooms is basic, no fridge inside, not much furniture and need to be renovated. The bathroom was ok. Wifi doesn't work and you need to get a code from the reception to use it, and it doesn't work anyway. I used my data all the time. The reception staff is very bad, at the check in they didn't give us any infos, and sometimes they are not there so if you need something it's your problem. The phone in the room didn't work so we couldn't even call them. The worst part was the breakfast. They say it's included but what you will get it's only one croissant one coffee and a juice. When I asked for more croissants for me and my boyfriend, they said I would have to pay for it. But there is no other food so we were starving and obviously wanted more croissants. I arrived at 8 and was told breakfast didn't start yet. Big lie, cause it starts at 7. They don't even give a price of bread and salami.. it's very basic, they should explain that at the check in or before the booking. I met other guests that were heaving the same troubles and they tried to charge me 10 euros for a plate with salami and cheese. The private beach of the hotel is basically just rocks and it's horrendous, dirty, and the other part of the public beach is busy and loud. If you want a sunbed they will charge you a lot (13 euros per day). There is a restaurant beside which is not related to the hotel and that's a big plus, they are amazing, polite and they atmosphere and food is great. The hotel has a bar which is expensive, and it closes at 7 so if you wanna go for drinks forget it. A big plus is the guy of the massages mr gavino. He is cheap, professional very polite and honest. And would listen to all your requests. If you walk up to la pailotte restaurant you will find another rocky beach but it's clean and so cool to go diving in it, from there we seen the dolphins too, it was very nice. I can't reccomend this hotel, we came here for our anniversary and it was very bad, the second day the 2 restaurants around were fully booked so we had to order a pizza, otherwise the hotel doesn't offer any alternative to eat they don't have a bar or something open at night.

Cagliari is not of the most famous towns in Italy. Despite many travels to Sardinia, we had never been there. We had a business meeting yesterday so we decided to try Palazzo Doglio. If this place was in a touristic town, the rates would be much higher but, at the moment, they are surprisingly affordable. The palazzo is splendid, bright and luxurious. The location is a bit “in the middle of nowhere” but it’s just at 10 minutes walk from the Centre and, once all the restaurants in their courtyard will be open, the place will be a destination in itself. Unfortunately due to Covid rules the spa was closed. But it looked beautiful. The “hard” is definitely a Leading Hotel. Some details of the “soft” have to be improved but it’s true that this difficult period affects everything (reception not super outgoing and also always in their mobiles, no one use your name, no one has escorted us to the room neither explained the hotel service - they will sell them better - , no turndown - but for the rates that’s understandable -, the food in the restaurant was ok but not wow). Andrea the Maitre d’ is a star and he really made our stay: proud of the place and it shows! We would go back!

Hotel Aristeo was the last stop on our 2-weeks trip through Sardinia and definitely one of the nicest hotels of the vacation! The interior is well designed and the room and bathroom was very spacious (e.g. two sinks, large shower cabine, extra sofa, space for suitcases, lots of storage surface, three small balconies, etc etc etc). Noteworthy is also their attention to detail, the room was perfectly clean and amenities were eco/environmentally friendly. We forgot to take pictures of the room but it was as pretty as on the management photos. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. They gave excellent restaurant recommendation and even sent our postcards for us. As we had to leave early for the airport, they prepared a perfect take-away breakfast for us. We were very happy with the hotel and highly recommend it!

This is a great place to stay. Nice and friendly atmosphere inside the house. The room had comfortable furniture. Large bed and air conditioning. Everything you need to relax after the sea and exploring the sights of Cagliari. Comfortable shared bathroom. No queues. Everyone had enough time. The kitchen has all the facilities for self-cooking and everything you need for tea and coffee. We are grateful to Fabrizio for the excellent organization of recreation. Especially liked the bike ride to Poetto beach. All major attractions are within walking distance. The guest house is a 15-minute walk from the centre.Everything was great!!!
