The style of the hotel is modern, the appearance is unremarkable, the hotel is very clean, the bathroom is very good, the decoration of the room is very general, even a bit ugly, especially the curtains. But the important thing is to have air-conditioning. For those traveling to Switzerland at the end of June, air-conditioning is so important. Most hotels in Switzerland do not have air-conditioning. (35 degrees lasts until nine o'clock in the evening, indoors are usually hotter than outdoors.) The breakfast is quite satisfactory and acceptable. But there is no sense of being served by the waiter at all.

Hotel is right across the street from the St Gallen train station, and about 15 mins walk from the St Gallen Abbey /Library. Room size is considered reasonably large compared to other Swiss hotels of the same rating, and is quite modern and neat. Take note however that many amenities like toothbrush /paste, mineral waters and slippers are not provided. Breakfast is of limited variety, just bread, salads, coffee /tea. There is a authentic Thai food restaurant, in a street alley just behind the restaurant, which is very good and of reasonable price. Front desk staff can speak English, but not Mandarin.

The hotel is super centrally located. Just a few steps from the train station. I spent a weekend in St. Gallen. The reception from the receptionist was very friendly. She has provided great information for a visit to the city and the surroundings. The room has also excited me. Large room with super convenient boxing bed and small but very practical shower. When the windows remain closed you can't hear much of the night noise. Breakfast was very fresh and rich. The restaurant has also very convinced. Great food, beautiful atmosphere and super friendly staff. Great compliment to the entire staff of the hotel. I can continue to recommend the hotel.

the hotel is very close to the city center (i would say less than 3 min walking), the rooms are spacious and well decorated, beds are very comfy, breakfast (for us was included in the price) was pretty good, choice and quality wise. the best is the personnel in reception, restaurant and housekeeping, they were very professional and attentive and responsive. it was a pleasure to stay for 4 days in this hotel and for sure we will return and again, thank you to all the staff.

You can expect a minimum standard when you book a chain hotel. The front desk is professionally manned, the room is clean, the amenities in place, and the sleep and work areas thoughtfully designed. That's what you get here. There are two lights for each side of the bed, the work area has multiple power sockets. Breakfast was adequate with a short menu for hot food such as oats and omelette. It's a little off from the main action of the town (17 minute walk) but on the other hand it is quiet and there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance. I also found a laundry up the road. The hotel gives a free pass to ride the city bus. I discovered that on the last day and took a bus (any bus) to the train station. It had cost 12 CHF to get to the hotel from the train station.

We have now used this hotel 3 times as our daughter studies at the St Gallen university. The hotel is good value for money, rooms are well appointed, modern and perfectly clean. Staff is always very friendly. Breakfast is top and the restaurant opens up on a green garden, despite the fact that it is located in a commercial area. Very importantly for St Gallen is that car park is free so we prefer staying there and driving 10 minutes into town than staying in a more typical area but having to pay a lot for parking.

My husband and I just spent two nights at Oberwaid after having been in Italy and Austria. Our time in Italy was a bit stressful because we stayed at a place that was a bit too noisy for us. Oberwaid was HEAVEN. Children under age 16 are not allowed to stay there from June until December, so our room was blissfully quiet. It was also air conditioned and had a fantastic bed. The first thing I did when we arrived was take a 90 minute nap! We enjoyed one dinner and two breakfasts in the restaurant. Service was very professional and efficient, and the dishes we had at dinner were imaginative and delicious. We were introduced to gerstotto (like risotto, but barley) and Sbrinzer cheese (like Parmesan, but from Switzerland). I loved the view from the huge balcony, as well as the very clean and comfortable bathroom. I also loved how healthy and safe this hotel felt. Yes, it was expensive, but we didn't have to worry about anything. I would love to visit again, especially after enjoying the pool and whirlpool areas. I'd love to try the spa services when things are a bit more ”normal” again... if they ever are. If you're looking for a quiet, adult oriented experience and excellent service, I can only recommend Oberwaid. I hope we'll be back!

The hotel is really nice, modern the room ia clean and comfortable. Location... Well, it´s next to the railway, could be better but if you don´t mind hearing the trains coming and going shouldn´t be a problem. Make sure that you are travelling light as there´s only a really small storage space in the room. The staff is friendly.
