This inexpensive no frills hotel has been recently refurbished and also has a new name - Lille City Hotel. Don't be put off by the entrance in a disused indoor shopping mall, the hotel reception is on the 2nd floor. Fantastic location amongst the shops and restaurants and a 15 minute walk from Lille International train station. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom was tiny but more than adequate for a 2 night stay. Overlooked a quiet side street. Not much storage space for clothes, 5 coat hangers? Breakfast is a simple continental buffet, no warm food, but there again, good value at 8 euros per person. Pity about there only being plastic plates! The WiFi is as good as non existent, only available in the reception area and then a largely intermittent service. And they want an email address from you to get connected, maybe that's normal in France? Can't understand the logic of spending a fortune on doing the whole place up and not investing in good WiFi access. Friendly staff and definitely a good place to stay if you're on a budget.

A member of Best Western and having stayed at this hotel several times, whether by booking it direct or as part of a larger team, I know this place well but am however very disappointed with its overall value for money. The hotel is centrally located indeed, but is nothing than a 1960s place that’s been refurbished into a somewhat modern place. That’s why it shocked me to see skyrocketing prices (using the pretext of a medical event in town) many times a year. Reception staff is not that friendly and will make keep you in the wait without any problem. The bar closes at 10pm or earlier, whatever your plans are. The breakfast is awful (scrambled eggs made from powder, among other oddities) with ultra poor service. The pinnacle at Best Western Lille Why Hotel is a recent online reservation that I had to cancel unfortunately 48 hours before deadline as I had to get admitted to hospital. First, the Best Western mobile app is a mess and will confuse you with terms and conditions — like you can read cancellation is free of charge and in fact it’s not. Then, even if this was an “act of God”, the hotel receptionist made a point at applying the strictest rule ever and cashing in the full amount prepaid without pity — and being a Best Western patron does not make any difference, does not make them offer a voucher or any creative solution. Going back to this place again: “why”?

What more do I need to say? 28 stays - and the next one is booked! The hotel is so lovely - a historic building, easy walking distance from the Eurostar station. The rooms are kept immaculately clean. The staff members are delightful, really helpful. Breakfast is all one could want for a continental breakfast (with add-ons). I so love this hotel and can very warmly recommend it - and I am not easy to please!

So, the location is perfect - right on the town square, but actually very quiet. The decor is perfect - quirky and design led - gorgeous and v comfy. Breakfast.- really nice, good selection of good quality items, dining room bit bland though. Staff - only really spoke to reception and they were lovely. HOWEVER, I expect a 4star hotel to have a restaurant - we were extremely hot and tired after our drive from the Loire valley and really just wanted a simple meal in the hotel. Instead we had to traipse though a hot, unfamiliar city, when extremely hungry, where socially distant outdoor eating is an ananema, to find food. Also many restaurants are shut on a Monday, the day we arrived. Also, whilst I understand Covid is an issue at present, provision of a small room service menu that can be left outside the room, should be considered, which would also alleviate the issue of the lack of restaurant.

Adagio Lille Centre Grand Place is an aparthotel located in a quiet street nearby city center, restaurants, shops, tourism office and train station. The rooms are small apartments with kitchen and living room that are perfect for business travel, long stay and families. The apartments are spacious and clean, with two big closets. The kitchen are equipped with kitchenware to cook your own meals. The hotel offers a delicious and tasty breakfast buffet. Also, the staff of the hotel is super friendly and helpful. They gave great suggestions of places to visit in Lille. Also, the lady that is in charge of the breakfast buffet is very friendly and helpful. I stayed for business from Jan 29 to Feb 06, 2020. I was pleased to have a great stay there during my business trip. I will return in a future for holiday and enjoy Lille and the northeast of France!

It came as some surprise to discover that it had been 15 years since we'd last visited Lille and as far as I remember, we'd only stayed there overnight on one occasion. So for this trip we decided against the Hôtel Lille Europe that we'd used previously, and opted instead for a "proper" French hotel - in the case the Hotel Brueghel. A short and easy walk from the Eurostar Station into the centre of Lille, the Hotel Brueghel is easy to find in the shadow of the large and imposing Saint-Maurice Church. It's very handily located for shopping as well as Lille's numerous excellent bars and restaurants. The room we stayed in was on the small side, but comfortable and functional - how much time do you need to spend in a hotel while on a short break anyway? The staff were both friendly and helpful which added to the enjoyment of our short stay. Would we chose to stay there again? Yes!

The hotel staff are informed, polite and friendly, making one feel as though they are the only ones who matter to the hotel. Our room was beautiful and clean and the minor problem with the bath plug was sorted promptly. Our one unresolved problem is cultural. They find it difficult to understand the English and how to make tea. The "best" we could get was English Breakfast which does not brew well with barely hot water - inspite of asking for boiling water at breakfast. We never achieved getting water hot enough. So folks - take your own tea bags & powdered milk for the bedroom and make your own. We would go there again to the Carlton, in a flash. Superb!

The Ibis Styles Lille Centre Gare Beffroi is a good starting point to discover Lille as a tourist. It is indeed a tourist hotel, which means very busy in the weekend. The hotel and its facilities are exactly what you expect from Ibis: Small but functional rooms. Everything is there and it works, especially the internet. Shower and bed: OK. Comfort: OK. Rooms have airconditioning which we did not need in December. Breakfast is simple and basic but the bread they serve is great! Breakfast room is very crowded and sometimes you have to wait. A great advantage of this hotel is the walking distnace from Lille city center. There is a parking close to the hotel which costs 15 Euro per day.

We travelled as a couple to Ibis Styles. There is no parking for this hotel only 8 spaces which get booked up. Overall my expectations were not high. The hotel is very average. It is a budget hotel. I found the room to be tiny and bathroom compact. It's more or less what I expected. I found the room noisy. There were all kinds of sounds that made sleeping difficult. I slept through necessity than going to sleep peacefully. The tv didn't work. The breakfast was quite a chore. You literally have to make your own breakfast. I didn't expect this at all. I found it quite awkward. I feel others found the experience a little to involved. The result was people mostly hadn't a good idea of what to do. Thankfully my partner made a great breakfast on the second day and could see others were envious. It was good. That said I prefer a prepared breakfast service. So for those like me please be aware you need alot of effort to do breakfast and don't be shocked when you have hands flying in from all directions grabbing this and that. I am fussy so this was not something I could get used to. The service and staff were friendly and are very helpful. Without them this hotel would be awful. They are doing a good job. I loved the convenience of the location. It's right in the centre. And near to the square. I really like that. Lille is an intersting place.if you are not fussy and used to Ibis Styles then could be for you, but it is what it is...with big ++++ points.

We stayed six nights. It was not a cheap hotel/deal that we had Good points Lovely location , handy to walk around and to get to the two train stations. Wonderful breakfast, staff friendly and helpful Pool lovely (needs signs to instruct on how to use spa jets) Just ok points Front reception staff sometimes approachable. On check-in very helpful . However one evening I walked in drenched and the staff member on duty looked up and promptly ignored me. Poor points Pool towels are the thinnest I have ever had in a hotel and I have stayed in two star to five star. I have no idea what their fear was about theft but those towels were almost thin enough to see through Net was done four nights out of the six. No information was given. At a purported five star hotel I would expect some form of update. There was no one drawer in our room. There was one plastic chair at the table and one lounging type chair . Overall it would need to be a far better deal to stay there again. Very disappointed with this hotel. However it was clean with very little noise

The hotel is only 200 metres from the Public Beaudex Art underground station. Take a subway ride to Rihour Station and go to the square to have a big meal. There are two big supermarkets next to the hotel, things are not expensive. Opposite the hotel is a Chinese supermarket. Hotel price is OK, feel better than Ibis style. The only downside, the hotel's breakfast is very simple, look at the picture.

I booked a room for two days with credit card. I was informed that this is a non refundable deal - it was ok with me. My risk. Arriving the hotel, the lady on the reception was the same from the phone...she was friendly. Entering the floor you got a feeling as in a thriller movie...lights were flickering, dirty carpet and walls and a really cheap smell in the air. Entering the room - same influence...The floor in the bathroom was an undulating ground, everything was pretty old and cheap smell all around the room. I decide to change the hotel, but not to cancel - I paid already - so, my choice to change the hotel...I could even sleep in front of the hotel on the street...I paid the room it can be just used by myself. I decided to use the parking place, because it is difficult to find a parking place in Lille and anyway, I paid already the bill. All this information I gave an another lady on the reception. After two days I gave back the remote control for the garage gate. I was wondering why my number key was not valid. Someone let me in the hotel...I went up to my room...number key was also not valid. A room maid opened the door and for my surprise the bed was used. A man came out of the bathroom, a little bit wondering about why I was in my/his room. I went down to the reception and asked them why they rent the room twice - it is forbidden to do that. They didn't agree with me, specially the manager Aurelien do not agree. I left the hotel and took the remote control with me. Till today I didn't get back my money. They took 70€ for the remote control from my credit card...congratulations, now you have finally a new, not any longer broken remote control. To all the people out there...there are nice hotels in Lille, but never, never go to this hotel...all around the hotel are drunken and drugged people, sex shops etc...and with a hotel manager that is renting rooms twice even if you have paid it!

We have paid Lille a few visits in recent years as it’s in easy reach via Eurostar and by car. We’ve always found Lille a convenient place for a weekend break and base in which to travel to neighbouring Belgium. Previously, we have used the Gares Novotel, but this occasion we decided to use neighbouring ibis. The hotel is as billed as a budget hotel, ideal for a short stay and it is. The hotel does have its pluses, close proximity to both the local and Eurostar stations, both within easy walking distances. Staff were attentive and provide efficient service. The 24hr reception, bar and kitchen are nice to know if you require. Downsides, rooms were dated and a little tired and very basic, no closed wardrobe, kettle and tiny single hatched windows - it’s no frills, but were comfortable and clean. Strangely enough, a distinct lack of power points especially next to bedside so a pain if you need to charge your mobile or set an alarm!! The hotel has a small and busy lobby/bar area, so of an evening, we chose a less busy option elsewhere. And what can be described as unofficial smokers area immediately outside the hotel reception so every time you left or entered you were met with plumes of cigarette smoke which just became a minor irritation. Overall, as most reviewers have remarked, a good, solid and centrally based budget hotel, great for those just wishing to have a base/crash pad to explore Lille and surroundings. The self rating and description of the hotel fits its offering, and meet the needs of a busy weekend if doing!

3-night stay with my younger daughter to see the Christmas Markets and other sights. I'd previously stayed here in 2017 so was familiar with the "throw your own trash" rule etc. Spacious room with kitchenette including fridge and microwave so you can do your own catering, separate lounge and bedroom area with door between, smallish bathroom with shower but no bath. 5 minutes walk from Eurostar train station and main French domestic rail station. A further 5 minutes to get to the city centre. The hotel is part of the Euralille shopping mall complex, so it's less than 2 minutes from a huge Carrefour hypermarket where you can get your food to stock up the kitchenette. Small buffet breakfast area and you have to be early to get a decent choice of food or else it'll all be gone. Small charge for breakfast which I felt was good value. Once current travel restrictions are lifted I'd love to return for a short vacation break; hotel staff have always been friendly and helpful on both my visits. Well impressed. Note: bedding/cleaning is only done weekly so if you stay for just a few nights, you don't have to worry about hotel staff going into your room (in exchange for having to make your own bed!)

This hotel was just great. Good staff very helpful. Perfect size room for b & b all clean. Lifts to all floors. Self service breakfast superb bread, croissants, cereal, scrambled eggs, bacon , yogs, fruit, coffee and juice. Can order takeaway to eat at the hotel. Keep plenty of spares of all sorts. You do need to be a good walker unless you use the metro or buses, it’s approx 25 mins from the main town centre but it is a nice walk and all on the flat. 9 mins from the Eurostar station. Highly recommend.

Great location in centre of Lille. Room newly renovated and spotlessly clean. Was very quiet with no noise from street or corridor. Second bed in room was a sofa bed but still very comfortable. Bar was really good for a late night drink before bed. Large public car park a couple of minutes away (parking - Nouveau Siècle). The only downside was breakfast. In hindsight we should have taken them up on the offer of room service breakfast. The buffet was run down well before end of service - e.g on Saturday bacon was gone by 9.50 and not restocked despite breakfast ending 10.30 and staff periodically looking at the empty dishes. Sunday we went earlier but was still a bit hit and miss. The various warnings placed around the hotel (including on the beds) advising you to go to breakfast super early were not conducive to a relaxed weekend away. Not critical - but takes the shine off an otherwise good hotel. In a 4* hotel I hope to have breakfast when I choose not when the hotel wants me to! Would happily stay in the hotel again but probably skip the breakfast.
