Visited this hotel on way home from South of France. Easy to find and only 2 min from A26. Plenty of free secure parking on site. You get provided with a code number and this becomes the key to the hotel entrance, your room door and the car park barrier. The room was just big enough and had everything you would expect and was clean. The bathroom was a bit on the small side and if you are of a large build you may struggle to use toilet/ shower due to the available room. We were out early doors for the ferry and had the hotel continental breakfast which for the price had everything you would expect and saved us hunting room for a nearby restaurant . Arras is a good stop over location as only an hour away from Calais.

What a wonderful position in this fantastic city. The two squares and cathedral are stunning and an easy walk from the hotel. Secure parking and a restaurant on site are what we look for an overnight on our way down to Italy. This hotel ticked all the boxes. We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and were given a room upgrade. The room was small but very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, lovely deep bath/shower and separate WC. Good Wi-fi. Lovely beds. All good. The dining room was nice and our first courses good, unfortunately our main course of slow cooked duck was very disappointing. The duck breast was raw (I mean raw - and we like our food served rare, but this was blue) and some parts extremely tough in retrospect, we should have sent it back I am sure they would have given it a quick pan fry for us but we didn’t and it was pretty unpleasant. That said, breakfast was perfectly acceptable, we slept well and we would certainly stay again.

I guess the 2 star says it all really. Steep stairs, no place for suitcases, bed was comfortable enough, room size small, bathroom was ok. Great location, we had the window open overnight to get some airflow, so there was quite a bit of noise from the pub. Breakfast, well I felt like I was in an episode of Fawlty Towers! I was asked by the owner why I removed the tray from where I was seated...'what did you do, where is your tray?' I said, I don't wish to eat off a tray, he tutted & rolled his eyes before marching off - I clearly created an International incident & ruined his day. When he walked past our table, again he tutted, then shook his head at the crumbs on the table from the croissant I was eating. We asked where the coffee was, he simply waved & pointed with his nose to where the coffee pot was, this was after he so pleasantly tended a French couple.. I cleaned up after myself & took great pride in leaving my place spotlessly clean. The food was nice enough, it was definitely an experience with memorable moments. Would we stay here again? Definitely not.

The hotel is conveniently located opposite the railway station (but you are not disturbed by any noise from trains) and just a very short walk from the city centre squares, shops, restaurants, sights and attractions. The car park isn't immediately obvious, being an underground type accessed in the middle of the road, and cost around 19 euros for the night. Once you are in though, follow the purple Mercure signs and you can park close to some doors that lead to a lift directly into the hotel. The reception area is smart and welcoming and check-in quick and easy. Two lifts lead up to the rooms which are currently going through refurbishment. Inside you'll find a television, air-con (although it didn't seem to work so had to have the window open in January - fortunately traffic wasn't too loud but it did cool the stuffy room down!) and a single(!) small bottle of water on a desk. The room was very clean and bathroom spacious. Only one bed had a bedside table though which was a bit of a pain if you wanted to put a drink or book down, or maybe phone on charge overnight close by with an alarm set for the morning. Admittedly there's not really enough room for one, but a small shelf attached to the wall would be adequate. There is a European two-pin plug with two USB sockets though, so they obviously intend you to use them. I had to wheel my suitcase next to the bed and use that as a makeshift table. I didn't sample the restaurant for an evening meal, but did have breakfast. It consists of a typical continental buffet of cereal, breads, eggs, fruit, yoghurt etc. They also have bacon and sausages in a heated tray. To sum up my stay the hotel was clean and service faultless, but some of the provison in the room (not even a bottle of water each, or a bedside table on one side to make use of the plugs provided half way up the wall), quality of the breakfast (typical budget hotel bread in a country renowned for delicious bread) and the expense of parking just didn't quite meet my expectations of the normal room price or Mercure name. I'd say it is more on the fellow Accor Group brand 'Ibis' standards, which I'm a very regular user of and always recommend, but which are priced accordingly. As mentioned above though, cleanliness and location are ideal.

As a solo traveller, spent three nights at this hotel as a base for battlefields tour in the area during October. Only spent limited time in room as was out early and in late each day. The hotel is a little outdated and is showing wear and tear but with that expectation it is a perfectly fine place to stay at. The place is quiet, perfectly located for restaurants , bars and supermarkets. It is basically just on the very scenic main square. If like me, you won’t be spending any great time in your room then I’d more than recommend. Did not try the hotel restaurant nor did I have a vehicle to have to worry about parking. Train station is a 5-10 minute walk from hotel.

Lets get this out of the way, it's a Holiday Inn Express It's not going to be 5 star with a fantastic breakfast, but it is what it says it is on the tin. A great, decent budget hotel. Great location and handy to Motorways. We've chosen to stay here as it's handy for travelling to Marne L' Vallee and Disney from Calais. Hotel itself was great and now subject to a refurb. Breakfast, standard european service, always well laid out and not too busy. Staff, absolutely brillant. Yes, I do try and speak the odd french word. But they always offer English and take the time to explain what is around the hotel. We've already booked our next stay, this time while we're on the way to Parc Asterix.

The hotel is located in the Grand Place which has a car park beneath. We visited Arras for the Christmas market and our hotel gave us a room which overlooked the whole event. The room was fairly small with its own facilities and a TV with French stations. They advertise free wifi but I was not able to make a connection. Breakfast was continental style which consisted of a large selection of breads, cereals, fruits, cheeses and meats. Juices, teas, coffee and hot chocolate was also available. There are 3 steps at the entrance to the hotel but once inside there is a lift to all floors. The car park cost €12 for 24 hours.

I stayed on the third floor in mid august for 3 nights to visit the nearby monument in Vimy Ridge. The staff were extremely welcoming and quickly got me settled, and when needed had a good variety of taxi's they were able to call (The one I ended up using was Artois Taxi, thoroughly impressed. Knowledgeable and respectful.). My room was clean with two single beds pushed together. Not a big concern as I was traveling alone. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated. The tub was a bit of a step, so if you have mobility issues it may be a concern, and a glass curtain covering half of the tub which made showers a little odd to try and keep water from splashing out. The beds only had duvets, which gave 1 of two options, too hot or too cold for the summer month I was there. Breakfast was a good spread of good k-cup type coffee, freshly squeezed orange & grapefruit juice, a variety of cheeses, yogurts, breads and some cereals I recall. Overall, I would have enjoyed some sheets under the duvet, and the mattress was a bit stiff, but I have my youth and it wasn't a huge inconvenience. The location is excellent (within sight of the train station and near Arras sites), the price was reasonable given what is provided and the staff were very helpful and friendly with excellent English if that would be a concern for anyone.

You get a clue that Le Passe-Temps is special when you realise its popularity with the locals. We were recommended to try it by our hotel receptionist. We were not disappointed and used it several times during our stay in Arras. If you want a coffee break, a chat over a beer or glass of wine, a light snack, something with frites or a main meal this could be the place for If you want to eat or drink at the Bar, or "Al Fresco", or in the light and airy in the Conservatory or in the cool booths of the main restaurant the choice is yours. This long established traditional bar/restaurant is worth a visit.

We wish we could have had more time to enjoy Isabelle's wonderful hospitality - and her amazing breakfasts! We spent two nights here and loved everything. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Our room looked out over a very quiet street and the hotel is close to restaurants and the station. As a vegetarian, I appreciated Isabelle's restaurant suggestions - they were great. Isabelle is a wonderful cook and feeds her guests a large breakfast including eggs from their chickens, canned pears, fresh baking, etc. I wish we could dawdle over a few more of these meals! When our pre-planned Vimy transportation fell through on a Sunday morning, Isabelle arranged a taxi for us in no time. Such wonderful service!

Nice hotel, good beds, superb shower. We had a good stay! Arras city centre is a 5 min. drive away. Very, very nice city with a great choice in restaurants and bars. Our daughter forgot here teddy bear (a unicorn). Back in the Netherlands we contacted the hotel. They send the unicorn back, together with a card with a lovely message. Great service.
